Companies Using Atlassian
Our September 2026 rollup finds Atlassian on 140,482 domains, which makes it the largest row in our Productivity & Collaboration category on 35.41% share. What puts a domain on that list is one DNS record. We match a TXT record containing atlassian-domain-verification, with a second clause for the Jira Service Management help centre script, and the TXT clause does nearly all the work. The companies using Atlassian below are therefore organisations that proved to Atlassian they control a domain.
That is a narrower claim than it looks, in two directions. A verification record proves an account was set up, not that anything is running. It is published once, by someone with access to DNS, and it keeps resolving long after any licence lapses. And the record cannot distinguish one Atlassian product from another: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Trello, Cloud and Data Center all sit behind the same string. This page was previously published as Atlassian Cloud, a deployment tier, which the evidence never supported; it is now Atlassian the vendor, because that is the largest claim the rule can carry. The headline number changed because the measurement changed, not because anything grew.
The churn figure is the clearest illustration. 1,154 domains have stopped matching, 0.82% of the 140,482 that still do, and that is not a 99% retention rate. Nobody edits a zone file after cancelling a subscription, so departures mostly leave no trace here at all. Compare our Namecheap page, built on a mail exchange record that has to change the day a company moves, where 5.98% of domains have dropped out. Below you will find the full list of companies using Atlassian with size, country, industry and co-installed technology, current to the September 2026 rollup.

Atlassian Usage Statistics
How has Atlassian usage changed over time? The series reads 118,250 active domains in June 2026, 131,475 in July, 133,558 in August and 140,482 in September. Read that as coverage rather than adoption. The June to July step is 11.18% in one month, and our crawled corpus expanded sharply across the same window, so a rule that had always matched these domains simply began to see more of them. Four points in a single crawl window cannot carry a growth rate.
One caution belongs on this profile more than most. The signal is a DNS verification record that outlives the account which created it, so a domain that enters this series has very little mechanism for leaving it. Total domains seen ran 118,250 in June and 141,517 in September against an active line of 140,482, a gap of only 1,035 domains. A series that can essentially only move upwards should never be read as momentum. The September figure, 140,482, is the one quoted at the top of this page.
List of Companies Using Atlassian
What kinds of companies appear on this list? The list of companies using Atlassian below is the part of the matched set we could tie to an identifiable organisation, and the named rows are ordered by prominence rather than typicality. 49 of the 50 named rows employ more than 10,000 people, while 73.57% of the population employs fewer than 200. Both numbers describe the same data.
Fourteen of those fifty rows are IT services, consulting or professional services firms, including Accenture, Deloitte, Infosys, Cognizant, IBM, Capgemini, PwC, Wipro, HCLTech, Tech Mahindra and Genpact, which is the densest concentration of any single kind of business on the list. The rest is broad: McDonald's, Starbucks, FedEx, DHL, Marriott, Hilton, Ford, Siemens, Bosch, Shell, HSBC, Wells Fargo, Kaiser Permanente, CVS Health, Unilever and LVMH among them. One row should be distrusted: the microsoft.com entry is enriched to a 51-200 person UK company founded in 2021, which is a mismatch in the company record rather than a statement about Microsoft. And what every row here shares is a verified domain, not a confirmed deployment.

Every one of these is a domain-level fact. The record proves the organisation verified that domain with Atlassian; it does not say which product, which deployment tier, how many licences, or whether any of it is still in use today.
Which Countries Use Atlassian the Most?
Which countries use Atlassian the most? The United States leads on 38,538 companies, 40.68% of the 94,740 held by the fifteen countries shown. Germany is second on 10,781 and the United Kingdom third on 9,667, then Australia fourth on 6,345, ahead of Canada on 4,589. Australia sitting above Canada is a home-market signal that very few vendor profiles on TechnologyChecker.io produce, and it is the sort of detail a verification record records well, because it is set at the corporate apex by the company itself.
The European rows are heavy: the Netherlands 4,337, France 3,379, Switzerland 3,064, Spain 2,385, Sweden 1,792, Belgium 1,652, Poland 1,594 and Italy 1,531, with Switzerland ahead of India's 2,745 despite a population difference of two orders of magnitude. That is what a base of engineering-led organisations looks like. Two caveats: country is the headquarters on the enriched company record, not where anyone opens Jira, and a group that verifies one apex appears once rather than once per subsidiary.
Share of the 122,073 Atlassian domains we matched to a company record — 86.9% of the 140,482 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Atlassian Market Share Among Productivity & Collaboration
What is Atlassian's market share? Atlassian ranks 1st of our Productivity & Collaboration category on 35.41% share, from 140,482 domains. That is the position, and it needs one qualification to be quoted safely: it is a lead in domains carrying an Atlassian verification record, which is not the same claim as a lead in usage. A record published once in DNS accumulates and does not expire; whether the software behind it is in daily use, or was retired three years ago, is invisible to this rule.
The rows below it are Zoom on 46,664 domains (11.76%), DocuSign on 39,558 (9.97%), Kakao on 36,581 (9.22%), Webex on 27,560 (6.95%) and Slack on 20,844 (5.25%). Atlassian's count is 3.01 times Zoom's, and all five together reach 43.15% against Atlassian's 35.41%. One further disclosure belongs here: a second row in our detection dictionary, Statuspage, carries a byte-identical rule, the same atlassian-domain-verification string. Statuspage is filed under Help Desk rather than this category, so it does not double-count inside the 35.41%, but the same domains are counted under two names elsewhere in the corpus.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Atlassian Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Atlassian? Mid-market, and more evenly spread than the named table suggests. The largest band is 11-50 employees on 34,965 of the 120,618 companies with a size band, 28.99%, then 51-200 on 29,985 (24.86%) and 1-10 on 23,794 (19.73%). Add those three and 88,744 companies, 73.57%, employ fewer than 200 people. Above them sit 12,867 at 201-500 (10.67%), 6,755 at 501-1,000 (5.60%), 8,130 at 1,001-5,000 (6.74%), 1,720 at 5,001-10,000 (1.43%) and 2,402 at 10,001+ (1.99%), so 12,252 companies, 10.16%, employ more than a thousand.
Now set that against the named list further down, where 49 of the 50 rows are in the largest band. That list is ordered by prominence, so it shows the top of the base rather than its centre. The centre is a company of twenty to a hundred people that signed up, verified its domain so that accounts could be provisioned against company email, and has left the record in place ever since. Both facts are true at once: nearly every very large enterprise you can name is here, and three quarters of this list is under 200 people.

What Industries Use Atlassian the Most?
Which industries use Atlassian? Technology, decisively. IT Services and IT Consulting leads on 16,441 companies, 13.90% of the roughly 118,300 with a recorded industry, with Software Development almost level on 16,133 (13.63%). Our industry taxonomy carries a second, older IT label as well, so the honest way to total the cluster is to add Technology, Information and Internet on 5,817 (4.92%) and Information Technology & Services on 3,783 (3.20%), giving 42,174 companies, 35.65%, in technology. Financial Services follows on 6,895 (5.83%), then Advertising Services 3,046 (2.57%), Hospitals and Health Care 2,644 (2.23%), Insurance 2,230 (1.88%), Business Consulting and Services 2,141 (1.81%) and Retail 1,855 (1.57%). A tool bought by software teams shows up as a list of software companies.
Which kinds of organisation verify a domain with Atlassian? Software and IT firms using Atlassian are the core at 35.65% of companies with a recorded industry once the four technology labels are combined, which is unusually concentrated for a category this size. Financial services firms on Atlassian are the largest non-technology vertical at 6,895 companies (5.83%), with Insurance adding 2,230 (1.88%), and regulated industries are exactly where domain verification is most likely to be completed as policy rather than as an afterthought. Healthcare organisations using Atlassian account for 2,644 (2.23%). One structural note on all of these: the verification record is published at a corporate apex, so what the industry table really describes is the organisation that owns the domain, not the team inside it that opens Jira. A bank appears as a bank whether the record was set up by its platform engineering group or by its IT service desk.
Atlassian Alternatives & Competitors
Who are Atlassian's competitors here? This table lists the largest technologies filed in the same category, which is not the same as the products a buyer weighs against Jira or Confluence. Zoom sits on 46,664 domains (11.76%), DocuSign on 39,558 (9.97%), Kakao on 36,581 (9.22%), Webex on 27,560 (6.95%) and Slack on 20,844 (5.25%), all below Atlassian's 140,482 and 35.41%. Look at what those products do: two are video conferencing, one is electronic signature, two are messaging. Nobody chooses between an issue tracker and an e-signature service, so this is a shelf of things filed together rather than a shortlist.
There is no switching table on this page, and that is a decision rather than a gap. The structural reason is stronger than the numeric one. A verification record survives the account that created it, because DNS is not pruned when a subscription lapses, so a company that left Atlassian years ago usually still carries the record, still appears in this data and never registers as a departure at all. Only 1,154 domains have ever stopped matching. This rule measures arrival well and departure barely, and a switching table built on it would be reporting the wrong end of the relationship.
There is one respect in which the column is a fair comparison, and it is worth stating because it cuts against how these tables usually work. Every major entry here is detected the same way Atlassian is — by a DNS TXT verification record. Zoom publishes ZOOM, DocuSign docusign, Webex cisco-ci-domain-verification, Slack slack-domain-verification, Miro miro-verification, Notion notion-domain-verification, 1Password 1password-site-verification. Several have no other clause at all. So this category is not measuring installed software against installed software, nor mixing surfaces: it is a consistent map of which SaaS vendors a domain has been verified with. Read as that, the ranking holds. Read as a usage ranking, none of it does.
Tech Stack of Atlassian-Powered Websites
What else runs on domains verified with Atlassian? Every percentage below divides by roughly 141,400 domains, the live set the overlap query ran against, which is a slightly different base from the 140,482 in the September rollup. Before reading any of it, note what these rows can and cannot describe. The verification record sits on a company's own apex, while Jira and Confluence are served from Atlassian's own hosts. This table therefore describes the company's public website, not its Atlassian instance.
That explains the front-end rows, which are older than the customer base would suggest: jQuery on 93,933 domains (66.41%), core-js on 74,265 (52.50%), jQuery Migrate on 44,480 (31.45%), Swiper on 34,755 (24.57%) and jQuery UI on 31,711 (22.42%). A jQuery Migrate share of 31.45% is a marketing site carrying a compatibility shim for code written years ago, which tells you about the corporate web estate rather than about the engineering team that bought Jira. Cloudflare on 70,620 (49.93%), jsDelivr on 25,231 (17.84%) and cdnjs on 21,985 (15.54%) are the same picture from the delivery side, and Google Analytics on 91,327 (64.57%) is close to universal.
The mail group is the interesting one, and it needs care. Microsoft 365 reads 67,592 domains (47.79%), Apple iCloud Mail 44,229 (31.27%) and Google Workspace 34,839 (24.63%). Those three sum to 103.69%, so they cannot be read as a split of one mail market; domains carry more than one of these signals at a time, and the rows overlap rather than competing. What the group does show is that the domains on this list are corporate apexes with real mail on them, which is consistent with a record that only an organisation controlling its own DNS can publish.

Atlassian Customer Reviews with Pros and Cons
What do users say about Atlassian? One scoping note first: the reviews we aggregate here are for Confluence specifically, one product in a suite this page cannot break apart, so they are evidence about Confluence rather than about the 140,482 verified domains. Across them, ease of use leads with 304 mentions, followed by team collaboration (213), organisation through spaces and page hierarchies (160), integrations with Jira, Trello and the Marketplace (158) and collaboration efficiency (147). The complaints are consistent and specific: a steep learning curve for non-technical users (89), inconsistent search (67), performance on large spaces (52), per-user pricing that escalates as teams grow (48) and editor limitations (41). That is 982 positive mentions against 297 negative.

Expert Analysis: Atlassian Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

One DNS record, and what it proves
Atlassian is on this site because of a TXT record. We match a DNS TXT record containing atlassian-domain-verification, with a second clause for a script served by the Jira Service Management help centre, and the TXT clause does nearly all of the counting. The rule is clean in the way DNS rules usually are: a resolver answers it, so no consent banner, bot wall or login screen sits between us and the evidence. Before the 140,482 is quoted anywhere, it is worth being precise about what a clean rule is clean about.
A verification record proves one thing. Somebody with access to a domain's DNS demonstrated to Atlassian that they control it, which is the step an organisation takes to claim the accounts of people who sign in on that domain's email. So the population is organisations with a verified Atlassian account. It is not seats, not licences, not spend, and critically it is not evidence that anything is running. A company can verify a domain, trial Jira for a month, abandon it, and remain in this count indefinitely, because the record it published has no expiry and no reason to be deleted.
Near-zero churn is the instrument, not loyalty
1,154 domains have stopped matching, 0.82% of the 140,482 that still do. Written up carelessly, that becomes a 99% retention rate and a story about how sticky Atlassian is. It is neither. Nobody edits a zone file after cancelling a subscription. Leaving Atlassian costs a company nothing in DNS, so a departure usually leaves the verification record exactly where it was and leaves no mark in this data at all. This rule measures arrival well and departure barely.
The control for that claim sits on another page of ours. Namecheap is detected from a mail exchange record, which is live configuration: move your mail and the record has to change the same day or the mail stops. That profile shows 5.98% of domains dropping out, roughly seven times Atlassian's 0.82%. Same family of signal, same corpus, same crawl window, opposite churn behaviour, and the difference is entirely the mechanism. Any number on this page that depends on domains leaving, including the absence of a migration table below, follows from that.
The tier is invisible, and so is the product
This page was published until now as Atlassian Cloud, against a technology id our current detection set does not carry. That framing was never supportable by the evidence. atlassian-domain-verification is one string, published by one kind of administrative act, and it looks identical whether the company behind it runs Cloud or Data Center. It is equally identical across Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Trello. The rule counts domains with an Atlassian account verification, and that is the widest and the only honest framing. The page is now about Atlassian the vendor for that reason, and anyone who remembers the old headline should read the change as a correction to the measurement rather than as a movement in the market.
There is a second disclosure in the same family. A separate row in our detection dictionary, Statuspage, carries a byte-identical rule, matching the same atlassian-domain-verification string. Statuspage is classified under Help Desk rather than Productivity & Collaboration, so it does not double-count inside this category or inside the 35.41% share. Across the corpus as a whole, though, the same domains are counted under two names, and anyone aggregating our technology rows should know that before adding them together.
Rank 1 means one thing and not another
Atlassian is the largest row in Productivity & Collaboration on 35.41% and 140,482 domains, against Zoom on 46,664 (11.76%), DocuSign on 39,558 (9.97%), Kakao on 36,581 (9.22%), Webex on 27,560 (6.95%) and Slack on 20,844 (5.25%). Atlassian's count is 3.01 times the second row, and the five named competitors together reach 43.15%. The lead is real and it should be stated carefully: it is a lead in domains carrying an Atlassian verification record, which accumulates and does not decay, rather than a lead in daily usage.
The category shelf is worth reading too. Two video conferencing tools, an electronic signature service and two messaging platforms are not substitutes for an issue tracker and a wiki; they are products filed under a shared heading. A buyer comparing Jira against something is not comparing it against DocuSign. Treat the table as a size ranking within our taxonomy, not as a competitive set.
Who is on the list
The named table reads like a Fortune Global 500 index, with 49 of its 50 rows employing more than 10,000 people, and 14 of them IT services or consulting firms. The population underneath is quite different: 88,744 of the 120,618 companies with a size band, 73.57%, employ fewer than 200 people, with 11-50 the largest single band at 28.99%. Only 12,252, 10.16%, are above a thousand staff. Both readings are correct; the named list shows the top of the base rather than its centre, because it is ordered by prominence.
Geography and age sharpen the same picture. The United States holds 38,538 companies, 40.68% of the 94,740 in the fifteen countries listed, with Germany second on 10,781 and Australia fourth on 6,345, ahead of Canada, which is a home-market signature very few vendors produce in our data. Switzerland on 3,064 sits above India on 2,745. On age, 35,608 of the 98,278 companies with a founding year, 36.23%, were founded in the 2010s, but 19,158, 19.49%, were founded before 1990 and 8,148 predate 1960. A developer tool with a fifth of its verified domains belonging to pre-1990 institutions is a tool that got into large, old organisations, which is consistent with the consultancies at the top of the named list.
What the tech stack is actually describing
One structural point governs that whole table. The verification record is published on the company's own apex, whereas Jira and Confluence are served from Atlassian's hosts, which our crawl of the company's domain never touches. Everything in the tech stack table therefore describes the company's public website, not its Atlassian instance. That is why the front-end rows look so conservative, with jQuery on 66.41% of the roughly 141,400 live domains and jQuery Migrate on 31.45%. It is also why the mail rows are useful: Microsoft 365 on 47.79%, Apple iCloud Mail on 31.27% and Google Workspace on 24.63% sum to 103.69%, which rules them out as a market split but confirms these are corporate apexes with live mail, exactly the kind of domain an organisation bothers to verify.
What this page cannot tell you
Four limits, stated so nobody has to rediscover them. It cannot tell you which Atlassian product a company uses, because one string covers all of them. It cannot tell you Cloud from Data Center, which is why the old page title has gone. It cannot tell you who has left, because the record outlives the account. And 140,482 is a floor rather than an estimate: any company using Atlassian without verifying a domain publishes nothing for us to find, and no amount of extra crawling would reach them.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Atlassian?
We detect Atlassian on 140,482 domains, including Accenture PLC, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited, McDonald's. A detection means the technology is present on that domain, which for large organisations is often a single storefront or subdomain rather than a company-wide deployment. Among domains we matched to a company with a resolved industry, the most common is IT Services and IT Consulting (13.9%).
How many customers does Atlassian have?
We detect 140,482 domains running Atlassian across our monthly crawl of live business domains. Company data could be matched for 122,073 of them (86.9%), and every company-size, industry and country breakdown on this page describes that matched subset rather than the full detected base. A further 1,154 domains carried a Atlassian detection previously and no longer do.
What is Atlassian's market share?
Atlassian ranks 1st of our Productivity & Collaboration category on 35.41% share, from 140,482 domains. Zoom follows on 46,664 domains (11.76%), then DocuSign (39,558, 9.97%), Kakao (36,581, 9.22%), Webex (27,560, 6.95%) and Slack (20,844, 5.25%). Read 35.41% as a lead in domains carrying an Atlassian verification record, which accumulates and does not decay, rather than as a lead in usage.
What are the best alternatives to Atlassian?
The top alternatives to Atlassian include Zoom (11.76% market share), DocuSign (9.97% market share), Kakao (9.22% market share), Webex (6.95% market share) — measured as a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category.
Which countries use Atlassian the most?
The United States leads on 38,538 companies, 40.68% of the 94,740 held by the fifteen countries listed, then Germany (10,781), the United Kingdom (9,667), Australia (6,345) and Canada (4,589). Australia ranking fourth, ahead of Canada, is a home-market signal few vendors produce in our data. Switzerland (3,064) sits above India (2,745). Country is the headquarters on the enriched company record, not where anyone opens Jira.
What size companies use Atlassian?
The most common company size is 11-50 employees, representing 28.99% of the Atlassian domains we could match to a company record and size — a subset of 122,073 matched companies, not of all 140,482 detected domains. This is followed by 51-200 employees (24.86%) and 1-10 employees (19.73%).
How old are companies that use Atlassian?
Among the Atlassian domains we could match to a company with a known founding date, the largest group was founded in the 2010s (36.23%), followed by the 2000s (19.71%). That matched subset is drawn from 122,073 companies and is not representative of all 140,482 detected domains. This suggests Atlassian is most popular among relatively young companies.
What is the ideal customer profile for Atlassian?
The ideal Atlassian customer is: Company Size: 11-50 is the largest band at 28.99% of 120,618 sized companies; 73.57% employ fewer than 200, Industry: Technology is 42,174 of roughly 118,300 with an industry, 35.65%, across four labels, Location: United States 40.68% of the 94,740 in the top 15 countries; Australia 4th, ahead of Canada, Founded: The 2010s lead on 36.23% of 98,278 dated companies; 19.49% were founded before 1990, Company Age: 8,148 dated companies, 8.29%, predate 1960, unusual for a developer tool — based on our analysis of 122,073 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What does this page count when it says 140,482 domains?
Domains carrying an Atlassian account verification. The detection rule is a DNS TXT record containing atlassian-domain-verification, plus a second clause for the Jira Service Management help centre script, and the TXT clause does nearly all of the counting. So 140,482 is a count of domains verified against an Atlassian account as of our September 2026 rollup, not a count of customers, licences, seats or running installations.
Why did this page change from Atlassian Cloud to Atlassian?
Because the old title claimed something the evidence never supported. Atlassian Cloud is a deployment tier, and the verification record we match is identical whether a company runs Cloud or Data Center. It is also identical across Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Trello. The page now covers Atlassian the vendor, which is the widest claim the rule can carry. The headline number changed because the measurement changed, not because anything grew.
Does a verification record prove a company is using Atlassian?
No. It proves that somebody with access to that domain's DNS demonstrated control of it to Atlassian, which is the step taken when an account is set up. The record has no expiry and no reason to be deleted afterwards, so a company can verify a domain, stop using the product entirely, and still appear in this count years later. Treat the list as organisations that set an account up rather than organisations running Atlassian today.
Only 0.82% of domains have stopped matching. Does that mean Atlassian never loses customers?
No, that figure is a property of the instrument. 1,154 domains have stopped matching out of 140,482, but leaving Atlassian costs nothing in DNS, so a departing company almost always leaves the verification record in place and never registers as a departure. For comparison, our Namecheap page is built on a mail exchange record that has to be changed the day a company moves its mail, and it shows 5.98% dropping out, roughly seven times as much.
Which companies use Atlassian?
The named list includes Accenture, IBM, Deloitte, Siemens, McDonald's, Wells Fargo, Shell, Kaiser Permanente, Infosys and DHL, and 49 of its 50 rows employ more than 10,000 people. That list is ordered by prominence, not typicality: 88,744 of the 120,618 companies with a size band, 73.57%, employ fewer than 200 people. One row should be distrusted, as the microsoft.com entry is enriched to a 51-200 person UK company, which is a company-record mismatch.
Can this data tell Jira from Confluence from Trello?
No. All Atlassian products sit behind the same atlassian-domain-verification string, so the rule counts the vendor relationship and nothing finer. If you need product-level detection, this is not the signal for it. The reviews section on this page is scoped to Confluence specifically and should be read as evidence about that product rather than about the whole verified base.
Is Statuspage counted separately from Atlassian?
Not by rule. A second row in our detection dictionary, Statuspage, carries a byte-identical rule matching the same atlassian-domain-verification string. Statuspage is classified under Help Desk rather than Productivity & Collaboration, so it does not double-count inside this category or inside the 35.41% share, but the same domains are counted under two names across the corpus. Anyone aggregating our technology rows should account for that.
What size companies verify a domain with Atlassian?
Mostly mid-market. The largest band is 11-50 employees on 34,965 of the 120,618 companies with a size band (28.99%), then 51-200 on 29,985 (24.86%) and 1-10 on 23,794 (19.73%), which is 73.57% under 200 people. Above that sit 12,867 at 201-500, 6,755 at 501-1,000, 8,130 at 1,001-5,000, 1,720 at 5,001-10,000 and 2,402 at 10,001+, so 10.16% employ more than a thousand.
What industries use Atlassian the most?
Technology, by a wide margin. IT Services and IT Consulting leads on 16,441 companies (13.90%) of roughly 118,300 with a recorded industry, with Software Development on 16,133 (13.63%). Adding the two further technology labels in our taxonomy gives 42,174 companies, 35.65%, in technology. Financial Services is the largest non-technology vertical on 6,895 (5.83%), followed by Advertising Services (3,046), Healthcare (2,644) and Insurance (2,230).
What other technologies run on these domains?
jQuery on 93,933 domains (66.41%), Google Analytics on 91,327 (64.57%), core-js on 74,265 (52.50%), Cloudflare on 70,620 (49.93%), Microsoft 365 on 67,592 (47.79%), Apple iCloud Mail on 44,229 (31.27%) and Google Workspace on 34,839 (24.63%). These divide by roughly 141,400 live domains rather than by the 140,482 rollup figure. They also describe the company's public website, because Jira and Confluence are served from Atlassian's own hosts and never appear on the verified domain itself.
