Companies Using Zoom
Our live crawl detects 44,288 companies using Zoom through verified deployment signals, from mid-market software firms to global brands that use Zoom like Oracle, Nike, Domino's, and U.S. Bank. Below is the full list of companies using Zoom with market share, industry, company size, and country breakdowns, plus the technologies those companies run alongside it. Unlike counts built on page embeds, nearly every entry here is an organization that verified its corporate domain with Zoom, an admin step available only on paid Business, Enterprise, and Education plans. That makes this list read closer to a customer census than a traffic sample.

Zoom Usage Statistics
Zoom's curve is the pandemic in miniature, with a second act the headlines missed. Our long-run detection history shows 55 verified domains in January 2020, 6,502 by July 2020, and 11,200 entering 2021. Growth then kept compounding after offices reopened: 16,909 in early 2022, 24,990 in 2024, and 44,288 active domains in our live crawl as of August 2026. Treat the long series as directional rather than like-for-like: the domain set we crawl turns over monthly, and our detection signals have widened over the years, so the latest point is the measured value and the shape is the story.

Which Countries Use Zoom the Most?
The footprint is US-anchored: 23,587 of the 36,972 companies we can place, or 63.8%, are American, more than nine times the United Kingdom's 2,564. Add Canada (1,539), Australia (1,432), and New Zealand (241) and English-speaking markets hold roughly four of every five located deployments. Germany (994) leads continental Europe, while Japan (424) and India (407) head a long Asian tail that thins quickly, a reminder that domain verification skews toward markets where IT teams formally manage vendor accounts.
Zoom Market Share Among Productivity & Collaboration
Zoom holds 11.76% of the Productivity & Collaboration category, ranking #2 of 43 technologies TechnologyChecker.io tracks there. Atlassian leads on breadth at 35.46% because its signal spans Jira, Confluence, and Trello together. Among tools whose core job is meetings, Zoom's 44,288 verified domains lead Webex (26,661) by a wide margin, and DocuSign (10.12%) and Kakao (9.29%) sit between them on category share without competing for the same seat.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Zoom Customers by Company Size & Age
The center of gravity is the mid-market: 51-200 employees is the single largest bucket at 27.1%, and 51-500 together covers 40.5% of the 37,129 companies with size data. The enterprise tail is real rather than decorative: 3,927 organizations above 1,000 employees and 637 above 10,000, each one an admin-managed deployment. Sub-10 companies contribute just 18%, which is unusually low and reflects the paid-plan gate on the verification signal itself.

Company Age (Founded Decade)
What Industries Use Zoom the Most?
Software Development leads at 8.22%, followed by Financial Services at 5.84% and IT consulting at 4.18%. The quiet story is education: Higher Education, K-12, and education administration are listed separately, but together they account for 3,235 institutions, roughly 9% of classified companies, which would place education second overall. Healthcare (3.78%) and insurance (2.53%) round out a heavily regulated customer mix.
Read the regulated sectors together and the pattern sharpens: financial services, insurance, hospitals, and government-adjacent nonprofits sum to well over 5,400 organizations, the kinds of buyers that run procurement reviews before adopting a meetings vendor and then rarely revisit the decision. That profile matches the top of our company table, where U.S. Bank, BNY Mellon, NHS England, and the State of California all hold live Zoom verification records.
Zoom Alternatives & Competitors
Atlassian's #1 position (35.46%) reflects a portfolio, not a meetings rival: its count pools Jira, Confluence, and Trello signals. Zoom's direct video competitor in the category is Webex at 7.08%, and Zoom out-detects it 1.7 to 1 despite Cisco's enterprise distribution. Slack (5.12%) is complement more than competitor, and the head-to-head that matters most, Microsoft Teams, hides inside Microsoft 365 bundles rather than appearing as a line item here.
Zoom Customer Migration
Only 298 domains have dropped their Zoom signal since we began tracking state changes on March 16, 2026, about 0.7% of the base, and TechnologyChecker.io reads that as structural stickiness: a verification record gets removed when a company actually leaves, not when a campaign ends. Among leavers, 42 still run Atlassian tools and 16 run DocuSign, suggesting broader stack cleanups rather than rip-and-replace. The Webex exchange is dead even: 9 domains moved each way over the same window.
Tech Stack of Zoom-Powered Websites
The suite split answers the Teams question with data: 37.44% of Zoom companies also run Microsoft 365, against 26.77% on Google Workspace. Most verified Zoom customers already own a Teams license and pay for Zoom anyway. Elsewhere the stack looks like standard B2B mid-market: Google Analytics at 71.61%, HubSpot at 19.72%, and Salesforce at 11.16%, with Account Engagement (6.58%) and Marketo (1.82%) marking the enterprise marketing tier.

Zoom Customer Reviews with Pros and Cons
Based on aggregated G2 reviews of Zoom Workplace, where the top pro alone carries 2,497 sentiment mentions, the split maps onto the product's two identities. As a meetings layer it wins outright: ease of use, breakout rooms, and reliability dominate the praise. As a full workplace suite it strains: the leading criticisms are thin built-in collaboration tools and post-call workflow gaps, which is exactly the seam our stack data exposes, with 37.44% of Zoom companies keeping Microsoft 365 alongside it.
Generated from real user reviews on G2
- The dominant theme by a wide margin is ease of use: reviewers describe joining, hosting, and scheduling as one-click work that outside guests manage without training.(2,497 reviews)
- Breakout rooms and screen sharing draw specific praise: facilitators single them out as the reason workshops and training sessions run on Zoom rather than the company's other tools.(1,220 reviews)
- Reliability is the third pillar: calls hold together on weak and unstable connections, a point reviewers often raise as a direct comparison with rival clients.(1,161 reviews)
- Non-technical hosts say running meetings requires no help desk: recurring links, calendar handoff, and waiting rooms behave predictably across devices.(1,059 reviews)
- Video quality in hybrid setups earns steady mentions: distributed teams treat Zoom as the default bridge between office rooms and home offices.(1,023 reviews)
- The most-cited gap is thin built-in collaboration tooling: whiteboards, notes, and docs feel like add-ons next to dedicated suites, which undercuts the Workplace ambition.(660 reviews)
- A second cluster describes confusing configuration: admin settings spread across menus, audio devices switching unexpectedly, and update prompts landing mid-meeting.(628 reviews)
- Meeting fatigue and notification overload recur in long-tenure reviews: back-to-back video days feel draining, and the client's alerts add to the noise.(620 reviews)
- Reviewers flag post-call workflow gaps: sharing links could be cleaner, and losing easy access to a meeting's chat after it ends interrupts follow-up work.(522 reviews)
- Connection drops still appear, most often on corporate VPNs and tightly firewalled networks, and reviewers notice because the product's own bar for reliability is high.(476 reviews)
Expert Analysis: Zoom Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I have spent a decade building crawlers that fingerprint what the web runs, and Zoom used to be one of the technologies I distrusted our own numbers on. Meetings software leaves almost no trace on a public website: the product lives in calendars, desktop clients, and conference rooms. Most "companies using Zoom" lists are scraped press releases wearing a database costume. What changed our confidence is where the signal comes from.
Our crawl of 29.9M active domains detects Zoom two ways. The main signal is a Zoom domain-verification record published in a company's DNS zone. Zoom's Associated Domains feature, which creates that record, is only available on Business, Enterprise, and Education plans, and only an admin who controls both the Zoom account and the DNS zone can complete it. The secondary signal is the Zoom Contact Center widget loading on a company's website. Neither can be triggered by an employee joining a meeting or a marketer embedding a link. As of our August 22, 2026 crawl, 44,288 domains carry one of those signals.
"Most technology trackers count websites. A Zoom verification record counts an employer: someone with domain admin rights decided that logins at that company route through a managed account." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
That census quality shows up everywhere in the data. 85.7% of detected domains resolve to a LinkedIn company profile (37,741 of 44,022), the highest enrichment rate of any technology this size in our index; web-embed technologies typically land between 45% and 66% because so many detections are hobby sites and parked pages. It also reshapes the growth story. Everyone knows the pandemic spike: we recorded 55 verified domains in January 2020 and 6,502 by that July. The part the "Zoom is dying" narrative missed is what came after: 16,909 in early 2022, 24,990 in 2024, and 44,288 today. Verified business deployments grew through every post-pandemic year on record. Stock charts measure expectations; DNS zones measure installed base.
The rows I keep coming back to are the competitors. Microsoft ships Teams, and Cisco owns Webex, yet both publish live Zoom verification records on their primary corporate domains. I re-ran the DNS lookups by hand on August 22, 2026 before writing this, because a claim like that should not rest on a crawler alone. Both records are real. Large organizations are messier than their product marketing, and the meetings tool people actually schedule with is chosen team by team.
The stack data extends that point across the whole base. 37.44% of Zoom companies also run Microsoft 365, against 26.77% on Google Workspace. Teams arrives in most of those Microsoft contracts at no extra line item, which means more than a third of Zoom's verified base pays for Zoom while owning its main rival. The EU accepted Microsoft's commitments to unbundle Teams from Microsoft 365 in September 2025, and if that changes buying behavior anywhere, this overlap number is where it will show first. I would also watch the education cluster: Higher Education, K-12, and education administration together account for 3,235 institutions, about 9% of classified companies, which fits Zoom's own claim that 49 of the top 50 US universities use it.
Company age tells the same story from another angle. 14.63% of Zoom's classified companies were founded before 1960, and the oldest, BNY Mellon, dates to 1784. Startups adopt whatever the founders liked; a 200-year-old bank adopts a meetings platform through IT governance, security review, and a signed order form. When that kind of organization publishes a verification record, it is telling you the deployment survived procurement. At the other end, 2020s-founded companies are just 9.99% of the base, which surprised me until I remembered the mechanism: young companies default to whatever ships inside their productivity suite and only formalize a dedicated meetings vendor once an IT function exists to do the formalizing.
Churn is where the DNS signal earns its keep. Since we began tracking state changes on March 16, 2026, only 298 domains have dropped Zoom, about 0.7% of the base. Compare the same-window churn on marketing tags, which routinely runs ten times higher. Among the leavers, Atlassian tools were still present on 42 domains and DocuSign on 16, which reads as broad stack consolidation rather than a meetings-specific defection; the direct exchange with Webex was exactly even, nine domains each way. Meanwhile the CRM overlap (Salesforce at 11.16%, HubSpot at 19.72%) marks these as instrumented, sales-led organizations; our Salesforce market share report shows how concentrated that tier is. Tools like Slack and Notion appear beside Zoom far more often than they replace it.
"A DNS record is the quietest signal on the web and the most durable. Companies clean up marketing tags every quarter; they touch the DNS zone only when something real changes." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signals
- Microsoft 365 overlap accounts (16,482 companies) chose Zoom against a bundled free rival. They are the strongest expansion targets for Zoom Phone, Contact Center, and adjacent seats, and the hardest accounts for Teams-led displacement pitches.
- The 51-200 bucket (10,049 companies) is large enough to have an IT admin and small enough to skip procurement committees. Fastest cycles for collaboration add-ons, scheduling tools, and meeting intelligence.
- 3,235 education institutions buy on academic-year cycles. Outreach lands best in spring, before summer renewal windows close.
- 637 organizations above 10,000 employees hold verified, IT-managed deployments. Sell compliance, recording governance, and integration tooling there, not seats.
- Contact Center detections mark companies funding customer experience beyond meetings. Workforce management and QA vendors should treat that page signal as an active budget line.
- The 298 domains that dropped Zoom since March are live RFP moments. Check what each still runs before a rival pitch: 42 of them remain on Atlassian, which hints at where the consolidation conversation is happening.
Method, briefly: everything above comes from our monthly crawl of 29.9M active domains, cross-referenced with LinkedIn company data, with the current numbers pulled on August 22, 2026. Detection is deliberately conservative here. Self-serve Pro accounts never verify a domain, so our count is a floor on Zoom's true business footprint, and Zoom itself reported 192,600 enterprise customers in 2024. What our number adds is precision about who: every one of the 44,288 is a named domain you can act on.

What are the biggest companies using Zoom?
The biggest companies using Zoom in our detection data include Oracle, Target, ADP, Medtronic, Domino's Pizza, Nike, Salesforce, GSK, and U.S. Bank, each verified through Zoom domain-verification records on their primary domains. The list also includes Microsoft and Cisco, plus public-sector organizations like NHS England and the State of California, and BNY Mellon, founded in 1784.
How many companies use Zoom?
Our live crawl counts 44,288 companies using Zoom as of August 2026, detected through domain-verification records and Zoom Contact Center deployments. Because domain verification requires a paid Business, Enterprise, or Education account plus admin action, this is a conservative census of managed deployments. Zoom itself reported 192,600 enterprise customers in 2024, so treat our figure as a verified floor.
Does Microsoft use Zoom?
Yes. Microsoft.com publishes a live Zoom domain-verification record, which we re-checked by hand on August 22, 2026. That record can only be created by an administrator of a managed Zoom account who also controls Microsoft's DNS zone. Despite shipping Teams as Zoom's largest competitor, Microsoft maintains a verified Zoom deployment tied to its primary corporate domain.
Does Cisco use Zoom?
Yes. Cisco owns Webex, Zoom's most direct video-conferencing rival, yet cisco.com carries a live ZOOM_verify record in its DNS zone, confirmed manually on August 22, 2026. Large enterprises are rarely single-vendor in practice: acquisitions, individual teams, and event workflows all pull second platforms into the building, and Cisco is a clear example.
How do you detect that a company uses Zoom?
Two signals. The primary one is a Zoom domain-verification record in the company's DNS zone, created through Zoom's Associated Domains feature, which requires a Business, Enterprise, or Education plan and admin rights. The secondary signal is the Zoom Contact Center widget loading on the company's website. Both indicate an organizational deployment rather than an employee simply joining meetings.
What is Zoom's market share in collaboration software?
Zoom holds 11.76% of the Productivity and Collaboration category in our index, ranking #2 of 43 technologies with 44,288 verified domains. Atlassian leads at 35.46%, though its count pools Jira, Confluence, and Trello. Among dedicated meetings platforms, Zoom out-detects Webex, its closest video rival at 7.08%, by roughly 1.7 to 1.
Is Zoom more popular than Webex?
In our detection data, yes: Zoom shows 44,288 verified domains against 26,661 for Webex, a 1.7 to 1 advantage. The recent flow between them is balanced, with nine domains moving each way since March 2026. Webex retains strength in large enterprises through Cisco's installed base, but Zoom's footprint is wider across mid-market companies and education.
Do companies use Zoom and Microsoft Teams together?
Very commonly. 37.44% of Zoom companies in our data also run Microsoft 365, which includes Teams in most business plans, against 26.77% on Google Workspace. That means over a third of Zoom's verified base pays for Zoom while already owning its main rival, usually splitting internal chat to Teams and external or scheduled meetings to Zoom.
Which industries use Zoom the most?
Software development leads at 8.22% of classified companies, followed by financial services at 5.84% and IT consulting at 4.18%. Education is the hidden second place: higher education, K-12 schools, and education administration together account for 3,235 institutions, roughly 9%. Healthcare, nonprofits, and insurance follow, giving Zoom an unusually regulated customer profile for a collaboration tool.
Is Zoom still growing after the pandemic?
In verified deployments, yes, every year. Our history shows 55 domains in January 2020, 6,502 that July, 16,909 in early 2022, 24,990 in 2024, and 44,288 in August 2026. The post-pandemic decline narrative tracked Zoom's stock price and consumer usage, not its business installed base, which has compounded steadily since offices reopened.
Why is your Zoom customer count lower than Zoom's own numbers?
Because we count only what we can verify. Our signal requires a company to publish a Zoom verification record in its DNS or run Zoom Contact Center on its site, which self-serve Pro accounts and unverified business accounts never do. Zoom reported 192,600 enterprise customers in 2024; our 44,288 is the subset with domain-level proof, a floor rather than a total.
Are companies switching away from Zoom?
Rarely, by our measurements. Only 298 domains, about 0.7% of the base, dropped their Zoom signal between March 16 and August 22, 2026. Among leavers, 42 still run Atlassian tools and 16 run DocuSign, suggesting broader vendor consolidations rather than meetings-specific switches. The exchange with Webex was exactly balanced over the same window: nine domains moved in each direction.
