Companies Using Seel

I expected Seel's customer list to look like Route's: lots of small Shopify apparel shops. Part of it does. The rest is a set of Chinese hardware brands, robot vacuums, power stations, 3D printers, selling direct to American and European buyers, and they're why I'd prospect this list differently. A domain counts when it loads Seel's script from cdn.seel.com or static.seel.com, or sets the SeelSDK object. Our October 2026 crawl gives 1,599 live domains, 419 matched to a company, 36th in Shipping, Fulfillment & Returns. Seel was founded in 2019 and is based in San Francisco, per its about page. I opened the 47 named pages; 45 loaded Seel and two were behind bot checks.

What the count is made of

Seel's script address usually carries the Shopify store's id, so we can count merchants as well as domains. On the 1,125 domains where it was readable we found 853 stores, about 1.3 domains each. The largest is Pure Romance: 45 consultant sites on one store account. The second thing to know about is Treet. Treet runs resale shops for brands like L'Agence, Oh Polly and Eagle Creek, and its storefront template loads a Seel script built for Treet's marketplace. That puts Seel on 56 domains whose owners never installed it, 3.5% of the clean set but 11.9% of the matched companies, because these are well-known brands with LinkedIn pages. Dead stores are not a problem; 13 domains (0.8%) showed a closed or error page.

Sales signal: if you sell to merchants, strip Treet's resale subdomains and dedupe by store id first. If you sell to resale platforms, the account to call is Treet's.

Growth: trust the October number, not the curve

The chart reads 168 domains in June, 190 in July, 1,119 in August, 1,493 in September and 1,599 in October. That isn't a breakout. The domains we crawl turn over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are found, and our detection of Seel widened over the summer, so the August step is mostly us seeing more of what was already there. Churn is modest. Since we began tracking Seel on 16 March 2026, 247 domains dropped it on at least one hostname, and in a re-check 63 of them still ran it on another.

Sales signal: size the market from the October figure. Nothing here supports pitching Seel's base as a fast-growing segment.

Who buys it

The base is smaller than the logos. 31.92% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 23.44% have 11 to 50. The middle is fatter than usual, though: 13.72% have 201 to 500 staff, against 2.93% on Loop Returns' profile, and 25 companies have more than 1,000, including Reebok, Simon Property Group and Dreame. These are young firms. 56.3% were founded in the 2010s and only 5 before 1960. Seel's model explains the mix. Its product FAQ says the product is customer-paid and merchants pay nothing, so the decision is cheap for a large brand to approve and cheap for a small one to try.

Sales signal: because Seel costs the merchant nothing, adoption tells you little about budget. Pitch whoever owns checkout conversion and support tickets.

The China corridor

102 of the 419 matched companies are Chinese, about one in four, behind 240 American ones. Loop Returns' profile counts two. Industry shows the same thing from another angle: electronics labels add up to 18.75% of companies with a known industry, ahead of Retail (17.05%) and Retail Apparel and Fashion (16.19%). Dreame and MOVA sell robot vacuums, EcoFlow and BLUETTI portable power, Ugreen and TerraMaster network storage, Anycubic 3D printers. They run country stores, such as fr.ecoflow.com, it.naveetech.com and it.mova-tech.com, and Seel shows up on those country stores.

Sales signal: for cross-border logistics, duties or localisation tools, Seel's Chinese electronics brands are a ready list: high-ticket goods, shipped across borders, already paying attention to delivery risk.

Rivals and overlap

We found no switching worth reporting. Route runs on 31 Seel domains today, out of 37 ever seen with both; Redo on 22 of 30; Loop Returns on 26 of 28. When most pairs still run both, a handful of drops isn't a corridor. Route (9,023 domains) and Redo (5,879) are much bigger, and Seel's resale and electronics tilt is what separates it.

Sales signal: a Seel store already running Route or Loop shows shoppers overlapping cover from two vendors at checkout, and that's an easy consolidation pitch.

The stack around it

Shopify runs on 91.03% of Seel domains and Shopline on 5.11%. Review apps are common, with Judge.me on 44.4% and Loox on 10.9%. For email, Klaviyo is on 38.54% and Omnisend on 16.81%. Consent banners are rare, with Pandectes on 4.67%, which fits stores selling mainly to the United States.

Sales signal: review and email apps are already bought. The gaps are consent management, for brands pushing into Europe, and anything that cuts shipping damage at source.

Review signals

Merchants rate the Seel Worry-Free Purchase app 4.9 from 295 reviews on the Shopify App Store, with 92% five-star (14 October 2026). Shopper sentiment is the weaker side. Reddit threads ask whether the fee is worth paying, and a proposed class action filed on 12 February 2026, reported by ClassAction.org, alleges Seel sold shipping insurance in California without being an admitted insurer. The claims are allegations. They matter to a merchant because the protection is sold under the store's name.

Sales signal: insurance from an admitted carrier is a fair angle against Seel. Lead with the merchant's brand risk and bring up the lawsuit only if asked.
