Companies Using CartStack
Our October 2026 crawl finds CartStack's abandoned-cart and booking-recovery script on 1,470 live domains, and the list reads like a travel guide. Hospitality is 34.71% of the companies we matched, and real estate, here mostly resort and vacation-rental property managers, another 11.36%. Below is the list of companies that use CartStack, with size, country, industry and stack. Loews Hotels, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, Caribe Royale, City Experiences and Hawaii Life Vacations all load it, beside businesses such as Boudin Bakery and Tessco.
The 1,470 counts the US product, run from Minneapolis since 2013. We removed 1,648 domains running CartStack's former Brazilian edition, which now sells as PowerCart, a Performa.AI product; the How We Counted section below explains the cut. CartStack ranks 11th of 33 in Cart & Checkout with 1.91%. It isn't a Shopify app: WordPress runs on 46.73% of its domains and Shopify on 4.63%. Count domains rather than customers, too, because where the script names its account, 1,281 domains belong to 847 accounts.

CartStack Usage Statistics
The chart for CartStack starts in October 2026, at 1,470 domains, because our earlier monthly totals mixed in the Brazilian edition we have since removed and can't be compared with this count. Churn tells the rest. 643 domains have dropped CartStack since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, but 436 of those ran the Brazilian edition. Of the 207 US-product domains that dropped it, 29 still ran it on another hostname when we re-checked.

Which Countries Use CartStack the Most?
Which countries use CartStack the most? The United States, with 754 of the 925 companies we matched (81.51%). Canada (36), the United Kingdom (24), Australia (22) and Italy (20) follow a long way behind, and Aruba and Saint Lucia appear through Caribbean resorts, based on our enriched company data. With the Brazilian edition removed, CartStack is a North American business.
Share of the 925 CartStack domains we matched to a company record — 62.9% of the 1,470 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
CartStack Market Share Among Cart & Checkout
What is CartStack's market share? 1.91% of Cart & Checkout, 11th of the 33 tools we track there at TechnologyChecker.io, counting the US product's 1,470 domains. Most tools ranked above it are Shopify cart, upsell and checkout apps, such as CartBot (8,297 domains) and GoKwik (6,926). UpSellit (3,030) is the cart-recovery specialist above it, and CareCart's Cartly, a Shopify abandoned-cart app, sits below.
Top Competitors by Market Share
CartStack Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use CartStack? Small to mid-sized. 48.23% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 31.86% have 11 to 50, which leaves 19.9% with more than 50 staff, against 13.35% on Zapiet's profile. Hotel and attraction operators fill the larger end: Sonesta, Loews Hotels, City Experiences and Boudin Bakery each employ more than 1,000 people.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
How old are companies that use CartStack? Older than most software buyers. The 2000s (24.73%) and 2010s (23.21%) lead, but 43.39% were founded before 2000 and only 8.68% in the 2020s. Old hospitality names are part of the reason: Sonesta dates from 1937 and Boudin Bakery from 1849, and both load CartStack.
What Industries Use CartStack the Most?
Hospitality leads at 34.71%, then Real Estate (11.36%) and Retail at only 5.62%, based on our enriched company data. Add Travel Arrangements (3.75%) and Leisure, Travel & Tourism (2%), and stays and trips make up 51.82% of matched companies. That is the reverse of the Shopify apps we profiled alongside it, where retail and apparel lead, and it fits CartStack pricing hotels by room count.
Hotels and resorts using CartStack include Sonesta, Loews Hotels, Caribe Royale in Orlando, Sandestin in Florida and Woodloch in Pennsylvania. Travel and attraction companies on CartStack include City Experiences, Southern Airways Express and Tradewind Aviation. Vacation-rental companies using CartStack include Hawaii Life Vacations, the rental arm of a Hawaiian real-estate brokerage.
CartStack Alternatives & Competitors
Two tools in this table do CartStack's job. UpSellit (3,030 domains) is a cart-recovery specialist, and CareCart's Cartly is a Shopify abandoned-cart app. CartBot (8,297) is a Shopify cart upsell app and GoKwik (6,926) an Indian checkout, so they outrank CartStack by reach, not as rivals. Overlap is close to nil: no more than one domain in our data runs CartStack and UpSellit together. Email platforms are the real alternative, and Mailchimp already runs on 10.75% of CartStack domains and Klaviyo on 7.89%.

How We Counted CartStack Customers
A domain counts when a page on it loads a script from an api.cartstack address or creates the _cartstack object that CartStack's code sets up. That test finds 3,120 live domains, but two different products pass it. The US product loads from api.cartstack.com, usually with a tracking file named after the customer's site. A Brazilian edition loads from app.cartstack.com.br, and it no longer carries CartStack's name: www.cartstack.com.br now shows PowerCart, and PowerCart's own page says CartStack evolved into PowerCart, Performa.AI's cart recovery product, and that new customers use PowerCart.
We removed 1,648 Brazilian-edition domains: every domain seen loading the app.cartstack.com.br script at any date, plus .br domains never seen loading the US script. The evidence points one way. Before the cut, 1,539 of the live domains were .br addresses and only 8 of them were ever seen loading the US script, and the Brazilian sites sat on Brazilian store platforms such as Tray, Nuvemshop, Wake Commerce and Magazord. We also removed 3 domains whose page title matched our for-sale or gambling filter, one of which was Brazilian as well. That leaves 1,470, the base for every chart and percentage on this page. Counted with the Brazilian edition, as our market-share data was before this correction, CartStack shows 3,125 domains in our market-share snapshot, a separate reading from the 3,120 rule test, and ranks 9th in Cart & Checkout.
The US script names the CartStack account in its file name, so we could count accounts as well: 1,281 domains map to 847 accounts, about 1.51 domains each. 160 accounts cover two or more domains, mostly resorts, attractions and property managers that point several addresses at one booking site. The script also often loads several seconds after the page, through a tag manager, so a quick look can miss it. Hawaii Life Vacations showed CartStack only after a longer wait.
Expert Analysis: CartStack Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

CartStack looked like a simple brief: an abandoned-cart tool that isn't tied to Shopify. The first count said 3,120 live domains. Then I found that more than half of them run a different product. With those removed, our October 2026 crawl finds CartStack on 1,470 live domains, 925 matched to a company, 11th of 33 in Cart & Checkout with 1.91%.
One name, two products
CartStack once had a Brazilian edition, served from app.cartstack.com.br. Its website now shows PowerCart, and PowerCart's page says CartStack evolved into PowerCart, Performa.AI's product. Those stores still load the old script address, so our rule kept counting them. We removed 1,648 Brazilian-edition domains and 3 for-sale or gambling pages. What remains is the US company, a small Minneapolis team working on abandonment since 2013 according to its about page.
Sales Signal: if you bought a CartStack list anywhere before, check it for .br domains. Those are PowerCart customers, with a different vendor relationship.
What the chart can and can't show
The usage chart starts at October 2026, at 1,470, because our earlier monthly totals mixed in the Brazilian edition. Churn is the better signal. Of the 643 domains that dropped CartStack since 16 March 2026, 436 were Brazilian-edition sites. Only 207 US-product domains dropped it, and 29 of those still run it on another hostname.
"Half of what looked like CartStack was its former Brazilian edition, now PowerCart. Take that away and you're left with a hospitality tool: a third of its matched companies are hotels and resorts." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: about 207 US-product departures in seven months, 14% of today's 1,470, and 29 of those still run it on another hostname. Watch for exits rather than assuming a locked-in base.
Domains are not accounts
The US script carries the customer's site in its file name, so we can count accounts: 1,281 domains belong to 847 accounts. 160 accounts cover two or more domains, 594 domains between them. Sandestin runs one account across 20 domains, and an account named after hornblower.com, which now forwards to City Experiences, covers 13.
Sales Signal: dedupe by account before you size a campaign. 1,470 domains are closer to 1,000 buyers.
A hospitality tool
Hospitality is 34.71% of matched companies, Real Estate 11.36% and Retail only 5.62%. Add travel and leisure and stays and trips reach 51.82%. The named users bear it out: Sonesta, Sandestin, Caribe Royale, Woodloch and Sunlife in Mauritius among hotels and resorts, Hawaii Life Vacations among rental managers, and City Experiences, Southern Airways Express and Tradewind Aviation among travel companies. Further down the list sit the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Kingsmill Resort in Virginia, the Woodstock Inn in Vermont, Shutters on the Beach and Hotel Casa del Mar in Santa Monica, The Hotel Windsor in Melbourne, and museums such as The Broad and the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. CartStack prices hotels by room count on a separate pricing page, so this is a market it chose.
Sales Signal: for hotel-tech vendors, a CartStack install marks a property that already pays to win direct bookings. Booking engines, rate tools and guest messaging sit on the same budget line.
Older and a little larger
48.23% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, but 19.9% have more than 50. The founding years skew old: 43.39% before 2000 and only 8.68% in the 2020s. Boudin Bakery dates from 1849 and Sonesta from 1937. The United States holds 81.51% of matched companies, with Canada (36) a distant second.
Sales Signal: these are established businesses with marketing managers, not founders doing everything. Lead with reporting and proof of recovered revenue.
Rivals and overlaps
Our switching tests found nothing to chart. UpSellit (3,030 domains) and CareCart's Cartly are the closest tools in the category, and no more than one domain runs CartStack and UpSellit together. CartBot and GoKwik rank higher, but one is a Shopify cart upsell app and the other an Indian checkout. The real competition is the email platform a site already pays for: Mailchimp runs on 10.75% of CartStack domains, Klaviyo on 7.89% and Amazon SES on 7.76%.
"Nobody switches from CartStack to a lookalike. The decision is whether a dedicated recovery tool beats the email platform the site already has." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: pitch against the email platform, not the rival app. For an email vendor, a CartStack site is a buyer who already values recovery.
The stack around it
Google Analytics runs on 97.01% of CartStack domains. WordPress is on 46.73% and Elementor on 7.28%, while Shopify is on 4.63%, WooCommerce on 4.22% and Magento on 3.67%. Hotel software shows in The Hotels Network (2.99%) and KeyData Dashboard (3.74%), and consent banners from CookieYes (5.71%) and OneTrust (5.37%) are common.
Sales Signal: these sites measure everything, so attribution proof gets a hearing. WordPress booking sites also need conversion help between the room page and the booking engine.
What it costs
CartStack's pricing page (checked 14 October 2026) starts Recover at $69 a month and shows $99 at 101 to 200 orders, with Retain adding $20. Hotels pay by rooms, from $199, and $399 at 101 to 200 rooms. There's no commission on recovered revenue, and a 14-day trial comes with a $1,000 recovery guarantee.
Sales Signal: flat pricing means the bill doesn't grow with success, so renewals turn on reported recovered revenue. Show a better number and the account can move.

Is CartStack now PowerCart?
Only in Brazil. CartStack's Brazilian site now shows PowerCart, and PowerCart's page calls itself the evolution of CartStack and a Performa.AI product. The US CartStack, based in Minneapolis, still sells under its own name. Because the Brazilian edition still loads from app.cartstack.com.br, we removed its 1,648 domains from this page.
How does CartStack work?
A script on the site watches for visitors who type an email and then leave a cart, booking or browsing session without buying. CartStack then sends a sequence of emails, texts or browser notifications to bring them back, and its Retain add-on shows exit offers before they go. Our crawl finds that script on 1,470 live domains.
Does CartStack work for hotels and vacation rentals?
Yes, and that's most of its base. Hospitality is 34.71% of matched CartStack companies and real estate, mainly resort and rental property managers, another 11.36%. Named users include Sonesta, Caribe Royale, Woodloch and Hawaii Life Vacations. CartStack prices hotels by room count and rentals by property count, from $199 a month, or $99 for bed and breakfasts under 30 rooms.
What platforms does CartStack work with?
Most of its sites aren't stores at all. In our October 2026 crawl, WordPress runs on 46.73% of CartStack domains and Elementor on 7.28%, while Shopify is on 4.63%, WooCommerce on 4.22% and Magento on 3.67%. Hotel tools such as The Hotels Network appear too, because the script sits on booking and ticketing sites.
What is a normal cart abandonment rate?
CartStack's own about page puts it at seven out of ten carts and bookings, the problem it was founded in 2013 to work on. We can't measure abandonment from a crawl. What we can see is who pays to fight it: 1,470 domains run CartStack in October 2026, many of them hotels where an abandoned booking is a lost room night.
