Companies Using Doofinder
Our October 2026 crawl finds Doofinder on 13,758 live domains, and most of the shops behind them are European. Germany (1,530 matched companies) and France (1,430) both have more than the United States (1,135), Spain has 1,044, and each market runs Doofinder on its own shop software: Shopware in Germany, PrestaShop in France and Spain. Below is the list of companies that use Doofinder, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes Prénatal, Alain Afflelou, Le Coq Sportif, Cecotec and PEP, the South African discount retailer.
Doofinder is a hosted search and product-discovery service, based in Madrid and founded in 2011 according to its about page. It ranks 3rd of the 58 technologies we track in Site Search with 8.17%, behind FiboSearch, a WooCommerce plugin with a free version, and Algolia, a search API. Read the count as shops, not companies. The 5,889 domains where we could read Doofinder's account id belong to 4,729 accounts, because retailers such as PRO&Cie and Panama Jack run one account across many domains.

Which Countries Use Doofinder the Most?
Which countries use Doofinder the most? Germany, with 1,530 matched companies, then France (1,430), the United States (1,135), Spain (1,044), the United Kingdom (705) and Italy (593). That order is unusual in this category. On Searchanise's and Boost Commerce's profiles the US holds more than 40% of matched companies; here it's 1,135 of 8,263, or 13.74%. Each market has its own platform. 803 of the German companies run Shopware and 943 of the French ones PrestaShop, while the American ones lean on Shopify (422) and BigCommerce (327).
Share of the 8,263 Doofinder domains we matched to a company record — 60.1% of the 13,758 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Doofinder Market Share Among Site Search
What is Doofinder's market share? 8.17% of Site Search, 3rd of the 58 technologies we track there, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The two above it count different things. FiboSearch (46,005 domains, 27.33%) is a WooCommerce plugin with a free version, and Algolia (38,582, 22.92%) is a search API that developers build into all kinds of sites. Everything below Doofinder in the category is smaller, including Searchanise at 10,727 domains and Boost Commerce at 8,746.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Doofinder Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Doofinder? Mostly small ones. 53.58% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 31.71% have 11 to 50, close to Searchanise (52.19%) and Boost Commerce (51.54%) at the smallest band. 61 companies list more than 1,000 staff, PEP, Prénatal, Alain Afflelou, Druni and Euromaster among them. Some of the large ones run Doofinder on a single site rather than group-wide, such as Euromaster on its portal for business customers.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (31.11%), then the 2000s (22.6%). Only 5.22% date from the 2020s, about half the share on Searchanise's (9.5%) and Boost Commerce's (9.94%) profiles, and 10.14% were founded before 1960. Giunti (1841), Le Coq Sportif (1882), Macsteel (1904) and Cassina (1927) all load Doofinder. These are long-running businesses that added better search to an existing shop.
What Industries Use Doofinder the Most?
Retail leads at 26.29%, then Wholesale (7.53%), Retail Apparel and Fashion (3.22%) and Manufacturing (2.76%), based on our enriched company data. Wholesale is close to double its 4.26% on Searchanise's profile, and Wholesale Building Materials adds 1.8%, so trade suppliers are a real slice of the base. The top ten industries cover about half of matched companies (50.2%).
Fashion and footwear brands using Doofinder include Le Coq Sportif, Pittarello and Naturaselection. Beauty retailers on Doofinder form a Spanish cluster of their own: Druni, Arenal and Equivalenza, with INGLOT Cosmetics in Poland. Building and equipment suppliers using Doofinder include Toutfaire, Acces Industrie and Loxam Hune's rental shop, so a fair share of these searches are by trade buyers looking up parts and machines.
Doofinder Alternatives & Competitors
The table mixes counting methods, so the overlaps say more than the sizes. 68 domains run Doofinder and Searchanise today, out of 122 that ever ran both, and 67 run Doofinder and FiboSearch, out of 120. Merci, the Paris concept store, loads both Doofinder and Searchanise. Algolia shares 22 domains with Doofinder and Klevu 7; Klevu's 1,776 is the count after its own page removed copies of other stores' sites. None of these pairs is large enough for our switching tests to publish.

Expert Analysis: Doofinder Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I pulled Doofinder out of our October 2026 crawl expecting a Spanish search tool with Spanish customers. Spain comes fourth. A domain counts here when a page loads Doofinder's script from cdn.doofinder.com or one of its regional configuration hosts, or runs its classic search layer. That gives 13,758 live domains, 8,263 matched to a company, 3rd of 58 in Site Search. I fetched the 50 companies listed on this page: 43 loaded Doofinder and the other 7 blocked automated visits. Four earlier rows didn't hold up (one domain now forwards to a different retailer, one was matched to the wrong company, two no longer load it), so I replaced them with the next verified companies.
Three markets, three platforms
Germany has 1,530 matched companies, France 1,430, the United States 1,135 and Spain 1,044. Split them by shop software and they look like separate businesses. 803 of the German companies run Shopware, against 24 on PrestaShop. 943 of the French ones run PrestaShop, and so do 493 of the Spanish ones. In the US the leaders are Shopify (422) and BigCommerce (327). Across all clean live domains PrestaShop is on 21.77% and Shopify on 19.12%. On Searchanise's profile, Shopify is on 75.67%.
Sales signal: segment a Doofinder list by country first, because the country tells you the platform. A Shopware agency should start with the German rows, a PrestaShop module seller with France and Spain.
Domains, accounts and data centres
Doofinder's newer script carries an account id in its address, so we can count accounts as well as domains. In the 5,889 domains where we could read it, we found 4,729 accounts, about 1.25 domains each. The largest is PRO&Cie, the French electronics franchise, with 131 store domains on one account, under 1% of the count. Next come a US corner-guard seller with 30 keyword domains, then brands with a domain per country: lamotion's 24 jewellery shops, Panama Jack's 18 and Probikeshop's 18. No agency or platform runs thousands of sites under one account. The same addresses show where each account's data sits: 4,766 domains load the configuration from Doofinder's EU host, 1,088 from its US host and 52 from Asia-Pacific.
Sales signal: dedupe by account before you count prospects. Country-domain brands appear many times, and a franchise network is one buying decision.
Flat since July
The chart reads 10,568 in June, 13,171 in July, 13,399 in August, 13,634 in September and 13,758 in October. The June to July step is mostly our side: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are added, and our detection signals widen. From July to October the line adds 587 domains. Since we began tracking Doofinder in March 2026, 2,311 domains dropped it on at least one hostname. 422 of those still run it on another, which leaves 1,889 that left entirely.
"Doofinder is three businesses under one logo: Shopware shops in Germany, PrestaShop shops in France and Spain, and Shopify and BigCommerce stores in the US." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat Doofinder as a stable pool of about 13,800 domains. Nothing here supports pitching it as a fast-growing segment, and the leavers are few enough to review by hand.
Established shops with small teams
53.58% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 31.71% have 11 to 50. Age is where Doofinder stands apart. Only 5.22% were founded in the 2020s, against 9.5% on Searchanise's profile and 9.94% on Boost Commerce's, and 41.08% predate 2000. These are long-running retailers that bought better search for an existing shop: Giunti (founded 1841), Le Coq Sportif (1882), Cassina (1927). 61 companies have more than 1,000 staff, including PEP, Prénatal, Alain Afflelou and Druni. Prénatal also appears in Doofinder's own customer stories, so it's confirmed from both sides.
Sales signal: the buyer is usually an ecommerce manager at an established retailer, not a founder. Talk about catalogue size and conversion from search, not about launching fast.
Retail, with a trade side
Retail leads at 26.29%, then Wholesale at 7.53%, nearly double its 4.26% on Searchanise's profile. Add Manufacturing (2.76%) and Wholesale Building Materials (1.8%) and the business-to-business share is real. Toutfaire, Acces Industrie, Macsteel's online shop and Loxam Hune's rental site all load Doofinder. Beauty is a Spanish speciality, with Druni, Arenal and Equivalenza.
Sales signal: trade suppliers with large part catalogues are a segment of their own here. They search by reference number and buy on account, so pitch them differently from fashion shops.
Where it overlaps with rivals
Our switching tests publish no rival for Doofinder, because the overlaps are small and most of them still run both. 68 domains run Doofinder and Searchanise today, out of 122 that ever ran both. 67 run Doofinder and FiboSearch, out of 120. 38 run it with Boost Commerce and 22 with Algolia. Merci, the Paris concept store, loads both Doofinder and Searchanise on its Shopify store.
"Fewer than 70 domains run Doofinder beside any single rival. In this category a shop picks one search box, and it tends to keep it." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: displacement deals will be rare and slow. The bigger opening is the shop still on its platform's default search, not the Doofinder customer.
The stack around it
Across the 13,700 clean live domains, Google Analytics runs on 80.85% and Cloudflare on 55.45%. WordPress shows on 16.07%, about two-thirds of it WooCommerce shops. About one domain in five shows none of the shop platforms we check, which usually means a custom build. Consent tools are many and small: Cookie Control (7.31%), Cookiebot (7.26%), Axeptio (5.58%) and iubenda (3.86%). None of them reaches 8%.
Sales signal: no consent or analytics vendor owns this list apart from Google Analytics, so integration partners should expect a different stack in each country.
What it costs and what merchants say
Doofinder's pricing page lists Basic at $49 a month, Pro at $149 and Advanced at $349, or $44, $134 and $314 billed annually, with 10,000, 150,000 and 400,000 requests a month for each product. Enterprise is quoted. The Shopify App Store charges more for the same tiers, $61, $186 and $436 a month, and the listing is rated 4.7 from 763 reviews. There's a free trial but no free plan, so most detections should be paying or trialling accounts.
Sales signal: request limits turn traffic growth into a renewal conversation. Stores close to the 150,000 ceiling on Pro are the natural upgrade, or switching, candidates.
