Companies Using FiboSearch
Our October 2026 crawl finds FiboSearch on 46,005 domains, and nearly every one is a WooCommerce shop: WooCommerce loads on 99.99% of them. That puts the plugin 1st of the 58 tools we track in Site Search, with a 27.33% share, ahead of Algolia's 38,582 domains. The two aren't like for like, though. Algolia is a hosted API that runs on any stack. Below is the list of companies that use FiboSearch, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes Kongsberg Automotive's aftermarket parts catalogue, Sweco's Swedish marketplace, the South African shoe chain Footgear and Kompas, the Indonesian daily, on its official store.
FiboSearch was called Ajax Search for WooCommerce until March 2021. It swaps the store's search box for live, as-you-type product suggestions. We count a domain when a page we crawl prints the plugin's settings, which happens wherever the search bar is drawn. A store that hides the bar on the pages we read isn't counted, so 46,005 is a floor. The buyers are small. 64.01% of the 24,817 companies we matched have 1 to 10 staff, and most run the free version: in a random sample of 80 live domains, only 9 of the 64 pages that report an edition run Pro.

FiboSearch Usage Statistics
FiboSearch reads 33,228 domains in June 2026, 42,760 in July, 43,926 in August, 45,419 in September and 46,005 in October. The June to July jump isn't a wave of installs. Our crawl reached more of the web that month, the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are added, and our detection signals widen over time. After July the line adds 3,245 domains in three months. Since we started tracking FiboSearch on 16 March 2026, 6,121 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname, and 541 of those still run it on another.

Which Countries Use FiboSearch the Most?
Which countries use FiboSearch the most? The United States, with 2,981 matched companies, but only just. The United Kingdom has 2,054, Brazil 1,852 and Spain 1,674. Latin America is the surprise: Brazil, Colombia (513), Mexico (481) and Argentina (470) add up to 3,316, more than the US alone. The seven European countries in the top 15, led by the UK, Spain and the Netherlands (1,327), add up to 8,618. These counts cover the 24,817 FiboSearch domains we matched to a company.
Share of the 24,817 FiboSearch domains we matched to a company record — 53.9% of the 46,005 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
FiboSearch Market Share Among Site Search
What is FiboSearch's market share? 27.33% of Site Search, 1st of the 58 tools we track there, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. Algolia is 2nd with 38,582 domains (22.92%), but the two rarely meet: FiboSearch only runs inside WooCommerce, while Algolia is a hosted search API used on stores, documentation and media sites on any stack. Against tools that also sell store search, the gap is wider. Doofinder has 13,758 domains, Searchanise 10,727 and Klevu 1,776.
Top Competitors by Market Share
FiboSearch Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use FiboSearch? Small ones, by a wide margin. 64.01% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees and 25.25% have 11 to 50, so 89.26% have 50 or fewer, based on our analysis of 24,817 enriched companies. Only 86 have more than 1,000 staff. The big names often run it on a side shop rather than the main site: Kongsberg Automotive on its aftermarket catalogue, Sweco on its marketplace, Schweppes Zimbabwe on shop.schweppes.co.zw.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (33.41%), then the 2000s (18.26%). The 2020s (14.31%) only just edge out the 1990s (13.95%), and 20.07% were founded before 1990. That older fifth includes Cristalchile (1904), the Chilean glass-container maker, and the Brazilian dairy brand Catupiry (1911), both now selling through WooCommerce shops.
What Industries Use FiboSearch the Most?
Retail leads at 17.71%, then Wholesale (4.87%), Manufacturing (2.47%) and Food and Beverage Services (2.26%), based on our enriched company data. Add Retail Apparel and Fashion (2.1%) and Wholesale Building Materials (1.95%) and about a quarter of matched companies (26.63%) sell goods directly. The rest is a long tail of makers: Machinery Manufacturing (2.12%), Furniture (1.73%) and Appliances and Electronics (1.58%) each run product catalogues on WooCommerce.
Retailers using FiboSearch include Footgear, the South African shoe chain, and Queenspark, a Cape Town fashion label. Manufacturers on FiboSearch include Kongsberg Automotive on its parts catalogue, the Brazilian electronics maker Emicol and the Peruvian tile maker Celima Trebol. Publishers using FiboSearch sell through it too, Kompas on its official store and La República on its subscriptions site.
FiboSearch Alternatives & Competitors
FiboSearch leads this table, but it's the only WooCommerce-only tool in it. Algolia (22.92%) is a hosted search API, and Doofinder (8.17%) and Searchanise (6.37%) are search services that install on several store platforms. Where they meet FiboSearch, they're usually a second engine. 67 FiboSearch domains run Doofinder too, out of 120 ever seen with both, and 12 run Algolia (19 ever). Neither pair passes our switching tests, because most domains seen with both still run both.

Expert Analysis: FiboSearch Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I pulled FiboSearch out of our October 2026 crawl to see how far a free WooCommerce plugin can get in a category full of paid search services. The answer: first place. It's on 46,005 domains, 1st of 58 in Site Search, and 24,817 of those domains are matched to a company. A domain counts when a page we crawl prints the plugin's settings object, which FiboSearch writes wherever its search bar is drawn. I tested that on 80 random live domains. 67 pages printed it, and 66 of those 67 carried WooCommerce prices or add-to-cart buttons. Of the other 13, five sat behind bot walls, three returned errors or nothing, and five didn't show it on the page we fetched.
What the number counts
WordPress.org lists FiboSearch at 100,000+ active installations. Our 46,005 is smaller for good reasons. We count domains, not installs, so staging copies and local builds don't add to it. We only see the plugin where its bar is drawn on the pages we fetch, so a store that hides search on its home page is invisible. And we've already set aside 70 domains whose titles show a for-sale or gambling page. Read 46,005 as a floor on live storefronts.
The settings object also says which edition runs. In the random sample, 9 of the 64 pages that report it run Pro, about one in seven. On our list of larger companies the share doubles, to 20 of 71 pages. That fits the vendor's own comparison page, which rates the free engine very fast only up to 100 products and keeps 10,000-plus catalogues for Pro.
Sales signal: a FiboSearch Pro store has already paid for search once. That's the warmer list for a hosted-search vendor, and the free majority is FiboSearch's own upgrade pool.
Growth is mostly our coverage
The chart reads 33,228 domains in June, 42,760 in July and 46,005 in October. Don't read the June step as installs. Our crawl reached more of the web that month, the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites leave and new ones arrive, and our detection widens over time. After July the line adds 3,245 domains in three months. Since we started tracking it on 16 March 2026, 6,121 domains dropped FiboSearch on at least one hostname, and 541 of those still run it on another.
"FiboSearch tops our Site Search table, and most of the stores running it never paid for it. In this category, the free plugin is the market." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: size the opportunity as about 46,000 live WooCommerce storefronts that already care enough about search to install a plugin. Don't pitch it as a fast-growing segment; nothing in our data says it is.
Who the buyers are
64.01% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees and 25.25% have 11 to 50, so 89.26% have 50 or fewer. Only 86 have more than 1,000. Age spreads wider than size. The 2010s lead with 33.41%, yet 20.07% were founded before 1990, Cristalchile (1904) and Catupiry (1911) among them. Of the 50 companies on our list, 20 run FiboSearch on a subdomain rather than the main site: Kongsberg Automotive on its aftermarket parts catalogue, Sweco on its marketplace, Kompas on its official store, Schweppes Zimbabwe and AINS Group on their shops.
Sales signal: at larger accounts, the FiboSearch buyer runs a side shop or a B2B catalogue, not the corporate site. Prospect the e-commerce or parts team, and look for the shop subdomain first.
Retail first, and not American first
Retail is the top industry at 17.71%. Add Wholesale (4.87%), Retail Apparel and Fashion (2.1%) and Wholesale Building Materials (1.95%) and about a quarter of matched companies sell goods directly. Machinery, furniture and electronics makers fill the long tail. Geography is flat. The United States leads with only 2,981 matched companies, the United Kingdom has 2,054, and Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Argentina add up to 3,316, more than the US. The seven European countries in the top 15 add up to 8,618.
Sales signal: anyone selling into FiboSearch stores needs Spanish and Portuguese before a bigger US team. Localised onboarding is the gap.
Switching: none to report
Our crawl shows no FiboSearch switching flow. One thing looked like one: 12 domains that dropped FiboSearch now load Klevu's script. I looked at all 12. Six now serve Indonesian gambling pages that carry Klevu's script, four return errors or blank pages, one belongs to an unrelated cleaning company and one is a collectibles shop. These are expired WooCommerce stores whose domains changed hands, not merchants picking a new engine. Live stores stack engines instead. 67 FiboSearch domains run Doofinder too, out of 120 ever seen with both, and 12 run Algolia, out of 19. More than half of each pair still run both.
"The only thing that looked like switching was expired shops turned into gambling sites. When a store adds a hosted engine, it usually leaves FiboSearch running beside it." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: sell a hosted engine to FiboSearch stores as an addition for the catalogue that outgrew the plugin, not as a rip-and-replace. The overlap data says that's how it already happens.
The stack around it
WooCommerce runs on 99.99% of the 45,440 live FiboSearch domains and WordPress on 99.84%. Elementor is on 50.71% and Divi on 10.83%, so about half of these stores were built with a page builder. Cloudflare sits in front of 30.35% and Hostinger's CDN 7.29%. Google Analytics is on 66.33%, PixelYourSite on 8.2% and Site Kit on 8.01%. CookieYes (11.18%) and Complianz (10.29%) are the common consent banners. Dokan, the multi-vendor marketplace plugin, is on just 0.5%.
Sales signal: anything sold to these stores should install as a WordPress plugin and work inside Elementor. Agencies that build on Elementor and WooCommerce are the channel.
Price and reputation
The core plugin is free. FiboSearch's pricing page (checked 14 October 2026) lists Pro at $59 for the first year for one site and 10,000 products, $99 for three sites and 50,000 products each, and $249 for 25 sites and 150,000 each, with renewals 15% off. WordPress.org shows a 4.9 out of 5 rating with 1,760 five-star reviews. The two numbers point the same way. Store owners like the free plugin, and only about 14% of the pages we sampled pay for Pro.
Sales signal: catalogue size, not price, triggers the upgrade. Free-version stores with thousands of products are the ones to watch, for FiboSearch and for its rivals.
Key takeaways
1. 46,005 domains, 1st of 58 in Site Search, nearly all WooCommerce stores.
2. About one sampled store in seven runs Pro; larger companies run it twice as often.
3. A small, international base: 89.26% have 50 or fewer staff, and Latin America outnumbers the US.
4. No real switching; hosted engines get added beside it.
5. Big companies run it on side shops and catalogues, 20 of the 50 on our list.
How to use this list
Filter by country and company size, and check the subdomain before you call: the shop team is usually the buyer. For the full list of 46,005 FiboSearch domains with company, size and stack data, explore TechnologyChecker.io.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses FiboSearch?
Mostly small WooCommerce shops, plus manufacturers and distributors with product catalogues. Our October 2026 crawl finds FiboSearch on 46,005 domains, and 64.01% of matched companies have 10 or fewer staff. Bigger names often run it on a separate shop: Kongsberg Automotive on its aftermarket catalogue, Sweco on its marketplace, Kompas on its official store and Schweppes Zimbabwe on its online shop.
How many customers does FiboSearch have?
Our October 2026 crawl finds FiboSearch on 46,005 domains, 24,817 of them matched to a company. WordPress.org reports 100,000+ active installations, a bigger figure because it counts every site with the plugin switched on, staging copies included. We count domains where a crawled page draws the search bar. Since 16 March 2026, 6,121 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname.
What is FiboSearch's market share?
27.33% of Site Search, 1st of the 58 tools we track there, on 46,005 domains. Algolia is 2nd with 38,582 (22.92%), then Doofinder with 13,758 and Searchanise with 10,727. The ranking isn't like for like. FiboSearch only works inside WooCommerce, while Algolia is a developer API used well beyond online stores, and Doofinder and Searchanise sell across several store platforms.
What are the best alternatives to FiboSearch?
Inside WooCommerce, the usual comparisons are SearchWP, Advanced Woo Search and YITH WooCommerce Ajax Search. SearchWP's own May 2025 roundup, written by a rival, calls Advanced Woo Search the top free choice. For hosted search, look at Doofinder or Algolia: 67 FiboSearch domains already run Doofinder too, and 12 run Algolia. Neither shows a real flow of FiboSearch stores leaving.
Which countries use FiboSearch the most?

What is FiboSearch and what does it do?
FiboSearch is a WooCommerce plugin that replaces the store's search box with live, as-you-type suggestions showing product images, prices and SKUs. The free version is on WordPress.org, and Pro adds its own index, fuzzy matching and synonyms. Damian Góra published the first version in May 2016. In our crawl it runs on 46,005 domains, nearly all of them WooCommerce stores.
Is FiboSearch free?
Yes. The core plugin is free on WordPress.org and searches product titles, descriptions and SKUs with live suggestions. Pro, from $59 for the first year, adds fuzzy search, synonyms and search by attributes, brands and custom fields. Most stores stay on the free version: in a random sample of 80 live FiboSearch domains, 55 of the 64 pages that report an edition run it.
How much does FiboSearch Pro cost?
FiboSearch's pricing page lists three Pro plans for the first year. Personal is $59 for one site with up to 10,000 products, Entrepreneur $99 for three sites with up to 50,000 products each, and Agency $249 for 25 sites with up to 150,000 each. Renewals are 15% off: $50.15, $84.15 and $211.65. There's no trial, but a 30-day refund. Checked 14 October 2026.
Can WooCommerce handle 50,000 products?
FiboSearch sells plans on the assumption that it can. Its Entrepreneur plan covers up to 50,000 products per site and Agency up to 150,000, and the vendor says Pro can work with up to a million products but won't support stores that size. Its comparison page rates the free engine very fast only up to 100 products. Bigger catalogues are what Pro is for.
