Companies Using accessiBe

Our live crawl finds 102,667 active domains running accessiBe, from one-person consultancies to Cummins, Sysco and the City of New York. accessiBe sells an AI-driven accessibility overlay: a single script tag that applies contrast, font scaling, keyboard navigation and screen reader adjustments on top of a site's existing markup. It holds 23.84% of the Accessibility Tools category and ranks #2 of the 32 vendors we track there.

The most interesting thing in our data is the growth rate. Between June and August 2026 accessiBe went from 59,711 to 102,667 detected domains, a 1.72x rise, while our crawl as a whole grew 1.18x over the same window. Every other vendor in the category sits at or below that baseline, which makes accessiBe the only one adding real share rather than riding wider coverage.

Two dated facts belong side by side here. That growth was recorded after the vendor paid $1 million in April 2025 to settle FTC allegations that it misrepresented its AI overlay's ability to deliver WCAG compliance; the complaint was filed in January 2025. The breakdowns below draw on 58,449 enriched company profiles, 56.9% of our detections.

accessiBe Usage Statistics

accessiBe enters our long-run detection history in November 2018 on a single domain, reaching 684 by January 2020, 5,203 by January 2022 and 13,315 by January 2024. Our live crawl now puts it at 102,667 active domains as of August 2026. One caveat on the chart: the series splices two measurement systems, our long-run history ending July 2025 and our own crawler starting June 2026, so the step across that gap is wider coverage and not a surge in adoption.

Which Countries Use accessiBe the Most?

Which countries use accessiBe the most? The United States accounts for 78.47% of enriched companies with a country on file, 43,676 of them, which is heavier US concentration than almost anything else we track. Italy is a distant second at 4.37%, ahead of Canada (3.94%) and the United Kingdom (3.15%). That shape follows the legal exposure rather than the web: 3,117 federal website accessibility lawsuits were filed in the US in 2025.

accessiBe Customers by Company Size & Age

Is accessiBe used mainly by small businesses? Yes. 46.24% of enriched accessiBe customers have ten or fewer employees and another 28.47% fall in the 11 to 50 band, so roughly three quarters of the base sits under 50 people. The enterprise tail is thin but real: 2.18% run 1,001 to 5,000 staff and 0.28% are 10,001+, which is where names like Cummins and Sysco sit.

What Industries Use accessiBe the Most?

Retail is the largest vertical at 14.74% of the top ten industries we chart, with Real Estate close behind at 14.21% and Advertising Services third at 11.58%. Read those as shares of the charted ten, not of the whole customer base. Put Hospitals and Health Care (11.38%) next to Medical Practices (10.24%) and healthcare outweighs either leader, which is what a category shaped by US accessibility complaints tends to look like.

Real Estate2,463 (14.21%)
Advertising Services2,007 (11.58%)
Hospitals and Health Care1,973 (11.38%)
Financial Services1,861 (10.74%)
Medical Practices1,775 (10.24%)

Retail companies using accessiBe lead the charted verticals at 14.74%, and 8.78% of all detected domains also run Shopify, so a good part of that row is small storefronts. Real estate firms using accessiBe follow at 14.21%, a vertical with heavy exposure to US demand letters over listing sites. Advertising agencies using accessiBe account for 11.58%, and agencies rarely buy for themselves; they install the widget across client sites, so one contract can produce dozens of detections.

accessiBe Alternatives & Competitors

UserWay is the only vendor above accessiBe, at 156,255 domains and 36.29%, and Level Access bought it for $98.7M in a deal announced December 2023. AudioEye sits third at 65,177 domains (15.14%) and has sued accessiBe for patent infringement, so those two compete in court as well as in the market. Pojo.me (12.53%), Nagich (2.76%) and EqualWeb (2.28%) fill out the top five, and the last two are one vendor: Nagich is EqualWeb's Hebrew-market brand.

accessiBe Customer Migration

Since 16 March 2026 our crawler has watched 6,447 domains drop accessiBe, 5.9% of the 108,615 we have ever detected it on, and only 223 of them (3.5%) picked up another accessibility tool. The other 96.5% removed the widget and put nothing in its place. Vendor-to-vendor flows are tiny next to that: 92 domains arrived from UserWay and 83 from AudioEye, against 105 lost back to UserWay and 55 to AudioEye, so this category is an abandonment story rather than a switching contest.

Expert Analysis: accessiBe Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

I've spent more than ten years building technographic systems, and accessibility tools are the strangest category we track. This analysis draws on our live crawl of August 2026, which found accessiBe on 102,667 active domains and matched 58,449 to enriched company records, a 56.9% enrichment rate, plus churn watched directly since 16 March 2026. Two facts sit at the centre of this page. accessiBe is growing faster than any other vendor here, and it paid $1 million in April 2025 to settle FTC allegations about what its product could deliver.

Growth trajectory

accessiBe enters our long-run detection history in November 2018 on a single domain, reaching 684 by January 2020, 5,203 by January 2022 and 13,315 by January 2024. Then the measurement changes. That feed ends in July 2025 and our crawler starts in June 2026, so the step from 14,172 to 59,711 across the gap is coverage widening, not a customer surge.

What matters is the stretch measured by one system. Inside our own crawl accessiBe went 59,711 in June 2026 to 92,576 in July to 102,667 in August, a 1.72x rise, while the crawl as a whole grew 1.18x, from 321.0M to 380.0M active detections. Normalise one against the other and accessiBe is up about 1.46x in real terms. UserWay managed 1.09x, below the baseline, so it lost relative share while staying the largest vendor by volume.

"accessiBe is the only vendor in this category that outgrew our own crawler. Everyone else moved with the coverage. That's a real commercial result, recorded in the period after the FTC order, which is the part people find hard to hold in one hand." - Mehmet Suleyman, Founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: If you sell remediation or auditing, accessiBe's install base is the fastest-growing pool of accessibility-aware buyers on the web. They've already spent money on this problem.

Customer profile

The base is small. 46.24% of enriched accessiBe customers have ten or fewer employees and 28.47% fall in the 11 to 50 band, so about three quarters sit under 50 staff. Only 0.28% are 10,001+ organisations, though that tail carries Cummins, Sysco and the City of New York. On founding dates, 41.13% were founded in the 2010s and 24.64% in the 2000s, with just 12.57% from the 2020s. These aren't new companies getting online. They're established operators who added a widget to a site that already existed.

Sales Signal: Filter our detection list to 1 to 50 employees and a pre-2020 founding date and you have three quarters of the base. Price for that buyer, not the enterprise logos.

Industry and geographic concentration

The United States accounts for 78.47% of enriched companies with a country on file, 43,676 of them, heavier than almost any category we track. The reason is legal: 3,117 federal website accessibility lawsuits were filed in the US in 2025. Italy is second at 4.37% and Canada third at 3.94%.

By vertical, and reading these as shares of the top ten industries we chart, Retail leads at 14.74%, Real Estate follows at 14.21% and Advertising Services at 11.58%. Put Hospitals and Health Care (11.38%) beside Medical Practices (10.24%) and healthcare outweighs either leader. Advertising is the row I'd look at twice. Agencies rarely buy for themselves; they install the widget across client sites, so one contract produces dozens of detections.

Sales Signal: The agency row is a channel, not a segment: sign one accessiBe-using agency and you reach its client book. Otherwise, US retail and real estate under 50 staff is where the volume sits.

Migration patterns

This is the finding that reframes the category. Since 16 March 2026, 6,447 domains have dropped accessiBe, 5.9% of the 108,615 we have ever detected it on. Only 223, or 3.5%, installed another accessibility tool. The other 96.5% removed the widget and put nothing in its place.

Vendor-to-vendor flows are rounding errors next to that. accessiBe gained 92 domains from UserWay, 83 from AudioEye and 10 from Pojo.me, and lost 105 back to UserWay, 55 to AudioEye and 23 to Texthelp. That is 202 in against 209 out on a base of 102,667. The competitive fight everyone writes about involves 411 domains. The abandonment involves 6,447.

"Every vendor in this category loses far more domains to nothing than to each other. Between 0.7% and 3.5% of churn goes to a rival. Sites aren't switching overlays, they're deciding they don't want one." - Mehmet Suleyman, Founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: Churned accessiBe domains are the best prospect list in accessibility right now. They bought once, they left, and 96.5% bought nothing else, so the problem is still unsolved.

Technology ecosystem

87.98% of accessiBe domains also run Google Analytics and 31.1% run Cloudflare Browser Insights. WordPress covers 30.58% and Squarespace 1.97%, while Shopify reaches 8.78% and WooCommerce 2.99%.

The consent row is the one I'd point at. OneTrust appears on 5.73%, CookieYes on 3.78%, iubenda on 3.32% and Cookie Control on 1.68%, so roughly one accessiBe site in seven also runs a cookie banner. Same purchase reflex twice: a legal obligation answered with a drop-in script. Which of these signals a crawler can actually see is covered in our writeup on technology detection methods.

Sales Signal: WordPress plus Google Analytics plus a consent widget describes a third of this base. If your product ships as a WordPress plugin, distribution is solved. Most of these sites have no developer.

Where the reviews and our crawl disagree

G2's five pro themes carry 1,109 mentions between them against 287 for the five cons. Cost is the loudest complaint at 123, with another 47 on pricing limits, set against 341 for ease of use. Read that as a price objection and you'd expect departing customers to land somewhere cheaper. They don't. Of the 6,447 domains that dropped accessiBe since 16 March 2026, 96.5% installed no replacement.

The two datasets measure different moments. G2 records the buyer near the purchase; our crawl records the site months later, and it has no row for the customer who deleted the script. On G2, 156 mentions credit accessiBe with effective ADA compliance, describing sites as legally safe. The FTC filed its complaint in January 2025 and issued a final order in April 2025, with a $1 million payment, over allegations accessiBe misrepresented its AI overlay's ability to deliver WCAG compliance. Reviewers carry their own qualification: 32 mentions record manual fixes still needed on customised sites.

Sales Signal: Buyers here are getting better at reading the gap between what a widget claims and what a court accepts. Lead with what your product does not claim.

  • The only real grower here. 1.72x against a 1.18x crawl baseline, June to August 2026, about 1.46x once normalised.
  • The FTC record belongs in the picture. Complaint January 2025, final order April 2025, $1 million paid over WCAG compliance claims.
  • Churn goes nowhere. 6,447 domains dropped it since March 2026 and 96.5% installed no replacement.
  • The buyer is a small, established US business. 46.24% under ten staff, 78.47% US, 41.13% founded in the 2010s.
  • Vendor switching is a footnote. Around 400 domains moved either way between accessiBe and its rivals.

Sales applications

The outreach angle is the churn list: domains that dropped accessiBe and installed nothing have no incumbent to displace and a budget that already existed. The targeting filter is 1 to 50 employees, United States, founded before 2020, in retail or real estate. Against UserWay you are arguing about scale and ownership; against accessiBe, about the distance between an automated fix and an audited one.

All of this comes from first-party detection data, not vendor claims. Browse the full accessiBe detection set at TechnologyChecker.io, where the numbers refresh with every monthly crawl.

What is accessiBe?

accessiBe is an accessibility overlay. You add one JavaScript tag and it injects a toolbar plus a set of automated adjustments: contrast changes, font scaling, keyboard navigation aids and screen reader hints applied on top of your existing markup. It does not alter your source code. Our crawl detects it on 102,667 active domains, ranking it second of 32 tools in the category.

How much does accessiBe cost?

accessiBe publishes tiered subscription pricing that scales with the number of pages on your site, billed monthly or annually, with enterprise quotes handled by sales. Check accessibe.com for current rates, since published pricing changes. The bigger cost question is what the widget does not cover: manual remediation of your underlying code is a separate project, and most vendors price that by the audit.

Does accessiBe prevent ADA lawsuits?

No overlay does. Courts have rejected overlay widgets as a defence in ADA website cases, and 3,117 federal website accessibility lawsuits were filed in 2025 against a market where overlays are common. A widget can reduce some barriers a plaintiff might cite. It does not make a site legally safe, and no vendor can promise that outcome.

Was accessiBe fined by the FTC?

Yes. The FTC filed a complaint in January 2025 alleging that accessiBe misrepresented its AI overlay's ability to make websites WCAG compliant. The matter closed with a final order in April 2025 and a $1 million payment. Those are the dated facts, and they sit alongside the growth our crawl recorded through 2026. Both are in the record.

Does accessiBe make my site WCAG 2.1 AA compliant?

An overlay can address a subset of WCAG failures automatically, mostly the ones a script can infer: contrast ratios, missing landmarks, focus order. It cannot fix things that need human judgement, such as meaningful alt text, sensible heading structure or accessible custom components. The FTC's January 2025 complaint went directly to claims of the first kind being sold as the second.

Is an accessibility overlay enough on its own?

For most organisations, no. Courts have not accepted overlay widgets as an ADA defence, which is the practical test many buyers care about. Our own churn data points the same way: 6,447 domains dropped accessiBe since March 2026 and only 223 replaced it with a rival, so the pattern reads like buyers rethinking the approach itself rather than shopping for a better widget.

Does accessiBe work with WordPress?

Yes, and WordPress is its most common host. 30.58% of accessiBe domains in our crawl also run WordPress, the largest CMS overlap we see for this tool. Installation is a plugin or a single script tag in the theme header. Squarespace appears on just 1.97% of them, low enough to suggest the WordPress plugin route is what most buyers actually take.

Does accessiBe work with Shopify?

Yes. Shopify is the leading ecommerce platform under accessiBe, on 8.78% of detected domains, with WooCommerce at 2.99% and Amazon Webstore at 2.03%. Retail is also the largest vertical we chart, at 14.74% of the top ten industries. Storefronts are the classic overlay buyer: high page counts, frequent template changes and real exposure to accessibility demand letters in the United States.

accessiBe vs UserWay: which is bigger?

UserWay, for now. Our crawl finds it on 156,255 domains against accessiBe's 102,667, a 36.29% share versus 23.84%. The direction differs though. Between June and August 2026 accessiBe grew 1.72x while UserWay grew 1.09x, against a corpus baseline of 1.18x, so UserWay is losing relative share. Level Access acquired UserWay in a $98.7M deal announced December 2023.

How does accessiBe compare to AudioEye?

AudioEye is third in the category at 65,177 domains and 15.14%, against accessiBe's 102,667 and 23.84%. The two also have a legal relationship: AudioEye has sued accessiBe for patent infringement. Switching between them runs both ways and stays small in our data, with 83 domains moving to accessiBe from AudioEye and 55 going the other direction since March 2026.

What happens if I remove accessiBe from my site?

The widget and its runtime adjustments disappear, and your site reverts to whatever accessibility its own code provides. That is the honest risk of an overlay-only strategy. TechnologyChecker.io has watched 6,447 domains do exactly this since March 2026, and 96.5% of them installed no replacement, which suggests most had already concluded the underlying markup was the thing that mattered.

Is accessiBe growing?

In our data, yes, and it's the only vendor in the category that clearly is. accessiBe went from 59,711 detected domains in June 2026 to 92,576 in July and 102,667 in August, a 1.72x rise. Our crawl grew 1.18x over the same window, so roughly 1.46x of that is real gain rather than wider coverage.

How do I check whether a website is running accessiBe?

Open the page source and look for the accessiBe script tag, or check the network requests for its CDN domain. That is the same fetch-level signal our crawler uses across 29.9M active domains, which is how we arrived at 102,667 detections in August 2026. Browser extensions that read the DOM will also flag the widget container it injects.

Is accessiBe worth it for a small business?

That depends on what you expect it to do. Our data says small firms are the core buyer: 46.24% of enriched accessiBe customers have ten or fewer employees. For a small site with no budget for a manual audit, an overlay closes some gaps cheaply. It is not a legal shield, and the FTC's April 2025 order turned on exactly that distinction.

Does accessiBe replace an accessibility audit?

No. An audit tells you what is broken in your own code and produces a remediation plan; the overlay patches presentation at runtime and leaves the source untouched. Buyers often run both, which our tech stack data hints at: 5.73% of accessiBe domains also carry OneTrust, the profile of an organisation already spending on compliance tooling rather than looking for a shortcut.
