Companies Using Sift
Our October 2026 crawl finds Sift's fraud script on 12,154 live domains, but 87% of that footprint is platforms running Sift under their own account: Salla stores, Toast restaurant websites, Teachable schools, sahibinden.com dealer pages, Patreon creators and more. Take those 10,605 and 10 for-sale or gambling pages out, and 1,539 live domains run Sift for themselves. Below is the list of companies that use Sift, with size, country, industry and stack; DocuSign, Poshmark, Remitly, DigitalOcean, TaskRabbit and Depop are among them.
Sift, formerly Sift Science, scores sign-ups, logins and payments for fraud and account abuse, so its customers are apps, marketplaces and online services more than shops. On the 1,539 count it ranks 14th of the 32 tools in Fraud Prevention with 1.02%. About 720 of those domains are extra domains of a few dozen companies, so the number of distinct customers is smaller still.

Sift Usage Statistics
One point: 1,539 live domains in October 2026, counted after removing 10,605 platform pages and 10 domain-for-sale or gambling pages from 12,154, so there is no earlier month on the same basis to compare with. Exits we can count: 974 domains dropped Sift between 16 March 2026, when we began tracking removals, and October. That figure covers the whole footprint, platform pages included, and only 63 of the domains that dropped it still run it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use Sift the Most?
Which countries use Sift the most? The United States, with 242 matched companies, then Mexico (24), Australia (18), Germany (14) and the United Kingdom (13). That is 56% of the 432 companies we matched in one country and a thin spread everywhere else. Saudi Arabia has only 7, now that Salla's stores, which run Salla's own Sift account, are out of the count. The non-US names on our list include Depop in London, Sendcloud in the Netherlands and Wego in Singapore.
Share of the 432 Sift domains we matched to a company record — 28.1% of the 1,539 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Sift Market Share Among Fraud Prevention
What is Sift's market share? 1.02% of Fraud Prevention, 14th of the 32 tools we track there, on the 1,539 domains that run Sift on their own account, measured at TechnologyChecker.io. Counted with platform pages, as our category table did before this correction, Sift ranked 4th. Among the vendors that review orders it now sits behind Forter (21,652), NoFraud (6,382), Signifyd (3,769) and Riskified (1,665). A domain count suits Sift poorly anyway: much of its work happens inside mobile apps and behind logins, which a crawl of public pages doesn't see.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Sift Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Sift? Smaller than its enterprise customer stories suggest, but not shop-sized. 36.67% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 22.49% have 11 to 50 and 20.05% have 51 to 200. 23 have more than 1,000, 5.62% of those with a known size, including DocuSign, Veeam, Stitch Fix and Remitly. Before the platform cut, restaurants and Salla stores filled the smallest band.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
47.8% of matched companies were founded in the 2010s and 23.73% in the 2000s, so seven in ten date from 2000 to 2019. Poshmark, Remitly, Depop, Stitch Fix and PandaDoc were all founded in 2011. The 2020s hold 11.19%, lower than before the platform cut, when new Toast restaurants and Salla stores filled them, and 4.07% predate 1960.
What Industries Use Sift the Most?
Technology, Information and Internet leads at 11.25%, then Software Development and Retail (7.67% each) and Financial Services (5.12%), based on our enriched company data. With IT Services and IT Consulting (2.81%), the software and internet labels cover 21.73% of matched companies. Restaurants, the biggest group before the cut, are down to 2.56%: the chains left, such as Applebee's and Dairy Queen, run their own Sift account.
Marketplaces using Sift are its clearest group of customers: Poshmark, Depop, TaskRabbit, Artsy, Headout and Teachers Pay Teachers all load their own account. Software companies on Sift include DocuSign, DigitalOcean, PandaDoc, Vercel and Sendcloud. Fintech companies using Sift include Remitly, and among retailers Paula's Choice, which Sift features as a case study, Article and Madison Reed.
Sift Alternatives & Competitors
With platform pages removed from both, Sift's and Riskified's rows compare like with like; Forter's 21,652 hasn't had that check. 73 domains run Sift and Riskified today, out of 113 ever seen with both, 56 run Sift and Forter (64 ever) and 10 run it with ClickCease (18). The pairs can do different jobs: Sift scores sign-ups and logins while the other tool approves orders. NoFraud, a Shopify order app, shares no live domain with Sift in our census. None of the pairs passes our switching tests.
Sift Customer Migration
Tech Stack of Sift-Powered Websites
Across the 1,539 live Sift domains in our stack table, Google Analytics runs on 73.62% and OneTrust on 23.98%. PayPal (13.19%) and Stripe (13.0%) each run on about 200 domains, against 2.86% for Shopify and 6.63% for WooCommerce, so Sift's customers bill accounts and subscriptions more than they run carts. How We Counted Sift Customers
A domain counts here if a page loads Sift's script from cdn.sift.com or cdn.siftscience.com, or creates the _sift command queue that script reads. Sift's snippet names an account key, so the same check tells us whose account a page reports to. Our raw count was 12,154 domains, and we removed 10 domain-for-sale and gambling pages.
We then removed 10,605 domains, 87% of the raw count, where a platform loads Sift under its own account. The first pass found them by the platform's files on the page: 3,916 Salla stores, 1,622 Teachable schools (1,543 of them also load files from Hotmart, which acquired Teachable in 2020) and 7 Hotmart pages. The second pass read the account key and followed each home page's redirects: 2,410 Toast restaurant websites, all on one Toast key; 827 more Salla stores; 731 sahibinden.com dealer store pages and dealer domains that forward to them; 255 Patreon creator domains; 158 Zola wedding sites; 134 more Teachable schools; 124 sites behind Vercel's login screen; 86 Flickr photo domains; 68 Dutchie cannabis menus; 48 Lunchbox ordering sites; 48 Kickstarter creator domains; 44 Teachers Pay Teachers seller domains; 33 Poshmark closets; and 94 pages on 18 smaller platforms. sahibinden.com's own site stays in.
That leaves 1,539 domains, the figure every chart and table on this page uses. About 720 of them are extra domains of companies that run several, such as Headout (52), DigiKey (50) and Wego (42). And the cut isn't perfect: in a browser sample of 49 remaining domains, about 5 still forwarded to a platform page by script, roughly one in ten, which a redirect check can't catch.
Expert Analysis: Sift Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I write the detection rules for our crawl, and Sift's raw count turned out to measure platforms more than buyers. A domain counts when a page loads Sift's script or creates its command queue. Sift's snippet carries an account key, so on 15 October I read the key on samples of pages, then sorted every domain by the platform files it loads and by where its home page redirects. Of 12,154 live domains, 10,605, 87%, report to a platform's account rather than their own. The figures on this page use the 1,539 left after that cut and the removal of 10 for-sale or gambling pages, 432 of them matched to a company.
Where the 10,605 went
Salla is the largest: 4,743 stores on the Saudi store builder's Sift key, found in two passes. Toast is next, with 2,410 restaurant websites on one key; every Toast site I opened carried it. Teachable's course schools add 1,756, most of them also loading files from Hotmart, which owns Teachable. Then sahibinden.com, Turkey's classifieds site: 731 dealer store pages and dealer domains forwarding to them, on sahibinden's key. The tail repeats the shape: 255 Patreon creators, 158 Zola wedding sites, 124 sites behind Vercel's login screen, 86 Flickr photographers, 68 Dutchie cannabis menus, 48 Lunchbox ordering sites and 48 Kickstarter creators.
"Seven in every eight domains carrying Sift's script reported someone else's account. Salla and Toast alone made one Sift decision each that covered thousands of sites." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: the platforms are the prospects in the raw data. Salla, Toast, Teachable, sahibinden and Patreon each chose Sift once for thousands of sites. A restaurant on Toast never chose Sift.
What's left, and how far to trust it
The 1,539 still overstate distinct customers. About 720 are extra domains of companies that run several: Headout (52), DigiKey (50) and Wego (42) are among them. And in a browser sample of 49 remaining domains, about 5 still forwarded to a platform page by script, roughly one in ten. What remains is the same order of size as the 700-plus brands Sift's company page claims. Of the 50 companies in our table, 33 loaded Sift or set its key when I checked: DocuSign, Poshmark, Remitly, DigitalOcean, Depop, TaskRabbit, Course Hero, PandaDoc and Paula's Choice among them.
Sales signal: Sift's direct buyers are trust and safety or payments teams at internet companies with sign-ups to protect. Group the list by brand before counting accounts.
Who the customers are
36.67% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff, but 20.05% have 51 to 200 and 23 have more than 1,000, including DocuSign, Veeam and Stitch Fix. Before the cut, restaurants and Salla stores filled the smallest band. Age points to the 2010s internet generation: 47.8% were founded in that decade, and Poshmark, Remitly, Depop, Stitch Fix and PandaDoc all in 2011. Technology, Information and Internet leads the industries at 11.25%, and Restaurants, the top industry before the cut, are down to 2.56%.
Sales signal: look for Sift on login and trial subdomains: DigitalOcean's cloud login, TaskRabbit's booking site, Veeam's web store. A homepage-only scan misses many of its customers.
Where they are
The United States has 242 of the 432 matched companies, 56%. Mexico (24), Australia (18), Germany (14) and the United Kingdom (13) follow at a distance. Saudi Arabia, a top-two country before the cut, has 7 now, which shows how much of the old chart was Salla. The international names are app and marketplace companies: Depop in London, Sendcloud in the Netherlands and Wego in Singapore.
Sales signal: outside the US, Sift's customers are scattered. A regional partner will find a few dozen accounts per country, not hundreds.
Beside the checkout tools
Sift's switching table is empty. 73 domains run Sift and Riskified today, out of 113 ever seen with both; 56 run Sift and Forter (64 ever) and 10 run it with ClickCease (18). Most pairs still run both, so none passes our test for a switch. NoFraud, a Shopify order app, shares no live domain with Sift at all. Where Sift meets a checkout tool, it can guard sign-ups and logins while the other approves orders.
"Sift and Riskified run side by side on 73 sites. Sift scores sign-ups as well as orders, so the two don't have to compete." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: pitch Sift against account-fraud tools rather than chargeback guarantees. Its overlap with Riskified and Forter looks like division of labour.
The stack around it
Google Analytics runs on 73.62% of Sift domains and OneTrust on 23.98%. PayPal (13.19%) and Stripe (13.0%) each sit on about 200 domains, while Shopify is on 2.86% and WooCommerce on 6.63%, the opposite of NoFraud and Signifyd, whose sites are Shopify stores. Braze (5.26%) and Snowplow (8.84%) point to app companies with product and lifecycle teams.
Sales signal: subscription billing, identity verification and customer-messaging tools fit Sift's customers better than shop apps do.
What it costs
Sift publishes no price list. Its help centre, checked on 15 October 2026, says it invoices monthly, payable in US dollars within 30 days, and ties charges to the events a customer sends, such as $create_order and $create_account, with a custom plan for businesses that don't send them. Its company page says it has fought fraud since 2011.
Sales signal: event-based pricing grows with sign-ups and orders, so fast-growing apps renegotiate often.
Key takeaways
1. 1,539 live domains run Sift on their own account, 14th of 32 with 1.02%.
2. 87% of the raw footprint, 10,605 domains, is platforms: Salla 4,743, Toast 2,410, Teachable 1,756.
3. About 720 of the 1,539 are extra domains of a few dozen companies.
4. Customers are internet companies: DocuSign, Poshmark, Remitly, Depop.
5. Riskified and Forter run beside Sift on 73 and 56 domains, and neither pair passes our switching test.

That matched subset is drawn from 432 companies and is not representative of all 1,539 detected domains. This suggests Sift is most popular among relatively young companies.
What is the ideal customer profile for Sift?
The ideal Sift customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (36.67%), then 11-50, Location: US, then Mexico, Australia and Germany, Founded: 2010-2019 (47.8%), Industry: Internet, software and fintech, Page: Sign-up, login or trial page — based on our analysis of 432 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
Is Sift a legit company?
Yes. Sift has fought online fraud since 2011, is based in San Francisco and says more than 700 brands use it, including DoorDash, Yelp and Poshmark. Poshmark loads Sift in our October 2026 crawl, as do DocuSign, Remitly and DigitalOcean. If a site you use mentions Sift, it is screening logins or payments for fraud on that site's behalf.
What is Sift used for?
Stopping payment fraud, account takeover and fake or abusive accounts. A script on the site collects device and behaviour data, and Sift scores each sign-up, login or order in real time so the business can allow, block or review it. In our crawl it often sits on sign-up, login and trial pages rather than shop checkouts.
How much does Sift cost?
Sift doesn't publish prices. Its help centre says it invoices monthly, payable within 30 days by card or bank transfer, and ties charges to the events a customer sends, such as $create_order and $create_account, offering a custom plan to businesses without those events. Expect a quote based on volume. Checked 15 October 2026.
What is Sift Science?
Sift's former name. The company dropped "Science" and rebranded as Sift in January 2019, according to its own 2019 review, though its legal entity is still Sift Science, Inc. It is the same San Francisco fraud-decisioning company, and its script still loads from both cdn.siftscience.com and cdn.sift.com, which is why our rule checks both addresses.
Why do restaurant websites load Sift?
Because their ordering platform uses Sift. Every Toast restaurant site we opened reported to one Sift account, Toast's own, and Lunchbox, a Sift case study, does the same on the ordering sites it builds. We found 2,410 Toast sites and 48 Lunchbox sites and left them out of the 1,539. The restaurant is the platform's customer, not Sift's.
Why do Salla and Teachable sites load Sift?
The platforms run Sift for the stores and schools they host, under Salla's and Teachable's own accounts. We removed 4,743 Salla stores and 1,756 Teachable schools in two passes, part of 10,605 platform pages in all, alongside Toast, sahibinden.com, Patreon and Zola pages. That is why Sift's raw footprint is about eight times its own-account count.
Sift vs Riskified: which is more widely used?
About even, once platform pages are removed from both: Riskified runs on 1,665 domains and Sift on 1,539. They do different jobs. Riskified approves orders with a chargeback guarantee, while Sift also screens sign-ups and logins, which is why 73 domains run both today, out of 113 ever seen with both.
Sift vs Forter: which is more widely used?
Forter, by domains: 21,652 in our crawl against Sift's 1,539, though Forter's count hasn't had platform pages removed the way Sift's has. Forter sells mostly to large retailers' checkouts, Sift to apps and marketplaces as well. 56 domains run both today, out of 64 ever seen with both, so where they meet they usually stay together.
