Companies Using Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Salesforce Commerce Cloud is the ecommerce platform Salesforce agreed to buy as Demandware in 2016, and which it now markets as Agentforce Commerce. Our crawl finds it on 4,659 storefront domains. The companies using Salesforce Commerce Cloud skew toward established retail and fashion groups, and brands that use Salesforce Commerce Cloud, such as Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss and Cartier, often run a separate storefront for each country. This list of companies using Salesforce Commerce Cloud matches 1,812 of those domains to a company record.

A rank of 49th among 717 Ecommerce Platforms undersells it, because most rows above it are Shopify apps and small-store builders. Among enterprise commerce suites it leads, ahead of SAP Commerce Cloud (3,628 domains) and VTEX (2,041). The top companies using Salesforce Commerce Cloud include Mahindra, Tommy Hilfiger and Coach, and every one of the websites using Salesforce Commerce Cloud counted here carries signals the platform itself emits. The data below is from our September 2026 crawl, including which companies using Salesforce Commerce Cloud moved to Shopify.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud Usage Statistics

Our crawl detected Salesforce Commerce Cloud on 4,659 domains in September 2026, after 3,817 in June, 4,727 in July and 4,626 in August. Most of that movement reflects changes on our side rather than adoption: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and the signals we detect Commerce Cloud with widen over time. The first-seen dates show which cause dominates. Of the 2,548 current domains we first detected in May 2026, 2,469 were first reached by our crawl within three days of that detection, so they were new to us, not new to the platform.

Only in August (93 of 152) and September (87 of 133) did most new detections land on domains we were already crawling, so read the line as a trend, not a same-domain comparison. On the other side of the ledger, 559 domains dropped it since we began tracking it in March 2026.

List of Companies Using Salesforce Commerce Cloud

Our list of companies using Salesforce Commerce Cloud starts with the brands that use Salesforce Commerce Cloud with the largest LinkedIn following: Mahindra, Ralph Lauren, Hallmark, GameStop and Hugo Boss among them. Check the detection host before you read a logo as a flagship store. Some websites using Salesforce Commerce Cloud are merchandise shops inside non-retail companies, such as partners.jpmorgan.com, store.ferrari.com and boutique.heathrow.com, and Purdue and Northeastern run donation checkouts on giving.purdue.edu and give.northeastern.edu.

The United States leads with 653 of the 1,761 company records we could place, or 37.08%, followed by France (118), the United Kingdom (115), Italy (101) and Germany (98). Add Spain's 61 and Europe's big five reach 493 companies (28.0%), across a base that spans 58 countries. Salesforce Commerce Cloud Market Share Among Ecommerce Platforms

What is Salesforce Commerce Cloud's market share? It holds 0.06% of the Ecommerce Platforms category and ranks 49th of 717 technologies, based on our monthly crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. That rank undersells it, because most of the 48 rows above it are Shopify apps and small-store builders that can sit on the same storefront, such as Instafeed (#5), Hextom (#8) and TeePublic (#12). Among enterprise commerce suites, Commerce Cloud's 4,659 domains lead SAP Commerce Cloud (3,628, #63) and VTEX (2,041, #96), while Magento (66,746) and BigCommerce (24,710) are larger, but their counts include open-source and SMB installs.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud Customers by Company Size & Age

Is Salesforce Commerce Cloud only for enterprises? No, though the size chart makes the base look smaller than it is. Its biggest row is 1-10 employees at 26.49%, and that row is mostly enterprise brands' country storefronts, such as tiffany.fr, kiehls.de, debeers.ca and lecreuset.de, matched to small local LinkedIn pages; setting aside the 862 domains that load another domain's storefront barely moves it. So the chart describes the LinkedIn page attached to each storefront domain, not the buyer. The company list shows the buyer, and across all sized records 22.64% have 1,000+ employees (377 of 1,665).

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

Commerce Cloud customers skew toward old brands. Companies founded before 1960 form the largest group at 25.99% of the 931 with a founding year on record, and the 2020s contribute just 2.04%. The 1980s (16.54%) and 1990s (14.82%) come next. The pre-1960 group is where heritage names like Tiffany (1837), Cartier (1847) and Hallmark (1910) sit, which is the opposite of a digital-native customer base, based on our enriched company data.

What Industries Use Salesforce Commerce Cloud the Most?

Retail leads at 26.18% of the 1,551 companies with an industry on record, followed by Retail Apparel and Fashion (12.12%) and Manufacturing (5.61%). Add Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry, Apparel & Fashion and Sporting Goods Manufacturing to the apparel row and the fashion-adjacent group reaches 21.15%. This is a platform built around consumer retail rather than a horizontal one, per our enriched company data at TechnologyChecker.io.

Manufacturing87 (5.61%)
Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry64 (4.13%)

Fashion brands using Salesforce Commerce Cloud include Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger and Lacoste, part of a Retail Apparel and Fashion row at 12.12%. Luxury brands on Salesforce Commerce Cloud such as Cartier, Bulgari and Dolce & Gabbana make up 4.13%, while beauty companies using Salesforce Commerce Cloud like Mary Kay and Shiseido sit in Personal Care Product Manufacturing (3.35%), based on our enriched company data.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud Alternatives & Competitors

The competitor table shows the category's volume leaders, Shopify (31%) and WooCommerce (20.63%), then Wix eCommerce and Squarespace Commerce, based on our market share data at TechnologyChecker.io. Those counts measure reach across stores of every size, so the like-for-like comparison is with enterprise suites: SAP Commerce Cloud runs on 3,628 domains and VTEX on 2,041, both behind Commerce Cloud's 4,659. Headless platforms such as commercetools and Elastic Path emit no storefront signature, so no crawl can count them, and their absence here isn't evidence they're small. Shopify still matters as the one platform departing Commerce Cloud storefronts measurably move to.

Salesforce Commerce Cloud Customer Migration

Our data shows one clear exit: 114 domains moved from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify, against 14 going the other way, an 8.1:1 ratio. Those 114 domains belong to roughly 46 companies, because multi-domain brands move in batches: OtterBox/LifeProof switched about 36 domains on June 14, 2026, and Jack Wolfskin 23 between August 7 and 9. The flow passes our base-rate test, too, with 23.17% of the 492 domains that left now on Shopify against 2.01% of those still on Commerce Cloud, an 11.5x lift. Single-brand switchers include Burton, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Alexander Wang, Cole Haan and Ardbeg.

Tech Stack of Salesforce Commerce Cloud-Powered Websites

Two rows are left out on purpose. Cloudflare Browser Insights shows on 78.65% of the 4,727 live domains because Commerce Cloud's embedded CDN (eCDN) runs on Cloudflare, so the beacon ships with the platform, and CQuotient (73.79%) is Commerce Cloud Einstein, part of the product itself. What remains shows Salesforce selling into its own base: iGoDigital (19.84%), the tag behind Salesforce Marketing Cloud personalization, and Salesforce Interaction Studio (12.95%) lead the personalization rows, well ahead of Dynamic Yield (4.84%). We also removed WhatsApp, OpenAI and Pusher from Live Chat, since those matches were an outbound link, a DNS verification token and a websocket library rather than chat tools.

Expert Analysis: Salesforce Commerce Cloud Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

I'm Mehmet Suleyman, CEO and co-founder of TechnologyChecker.io. Before that I worked on Microsoft's Bing search and AI teams, where I got hands-on with web crawling infrastructure. This analysis covers 4,659 Salesforce Commerce Cloud domains as of our September 2026 crawl, 1,812 of them matched to a company record. Every signal we use, such as the /demandware.static/ asset path and the dwsid cookie, is emitted by the platform itself, so a detection means a working storefront. On September 22, 2026, partners.jpmorgan.com, give.northeastern.edu and auto.mahindra.com all set dwsid when we checked them by hand.

Growth trajectory

Our records show 3,817 domains in June 2026, 4,727 in July, 4,626 in August and 4,659 in September. Those are changes on our side, not a replatforming wave: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and newly found ones are added, and the signals we detect Commerce Cloud with widen. Of the 2,548 current domains we first detected in May 2026, 2,469 were first reached by our crawl within three days, so they were new to us, not to the platform. Only August (93 of 152) and September (87 of 133) show most new detections on domains we already crawled.

The rank needs care too. It's 49th of 717 Ecommerce Platforms, but most rows above it are Shopify apps and small-store builders. Among enterprise commerce suites it leads SAP Commerce Cloud (3,628 domains) and VTEX (2,041). Magento (66,746) and BigCommerce (24,710) are bigger, but their counts include open-source and SMB installs.

"Commerce Cloud ranks 49th in its category and still out-counts SAP Commerce Cloud and VTEX. The rank counts storefront add-ons; the comparison that matters counts platforms." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: This is a stable installed base, not a growth market. Timing matters most on the 559 domains that dropped it since we began tracking it in March 2026.

Customer profile

The size table's largest row is 1-10 employees at 26.49%, but Commerce Cloud brands run a storefront per country, and each domain is matched to its own LinkedIn page, so tiffany.fr, kiehls.de and debeers.ca land on small local pages. Aliasing isn't the cause. 862 of the 4,727 live domains (18.2%) load their storefront from another domain, pointing at 332 storefronts, yet setting them aside barely moves the 1-10 share. The buyer is bigger than the chart suggests: 22.64% of sized records have 1,000+ employees.

Age agrees. Companies founded before 1960 are the largest group at 25.99%, while the 2020s contribute 2.04%. Salesforce's own customer stories name PUMA and Boggi Milano, and both are live in our crawl on puma.com and boggi.com. Some detections aren't flagships: store.ferrari.com is a merchandise shop, and Purdue takes donations through a Commerce Cloud checkout.

Sales Signal: Sell to the brand group, not the country domain. One storefront, www.bata.com, serves 46 detected domains, so dedupe by the domain that serves the scripts before you count accounts.

Industry and geographic concentration

This is a consumer retail platform. Retail leads at 26.18% of the 1,551 companies with an industry on record, Retail Apparel and Fashion follows at 12.12%, and the fashion-adjacent rows together reach 21.15%. The recognisable names are luxury houses like Cartier and Bulgari. Geography is more spread out. The United States holds 37.08% of the 1,761 companies we could place, and Europe's big five (France, the UK, Italy, Germany and Spain) add 493, or 28.0%, across 58 countries in all.

Sales Signal: European fashion and luxury houses are the dense cluster outside the US. Anything localised per market, such as tax, payments or translation, meets a buyer who already runs a storefront per country.

Migration patterns

Commerce Cloud has one measurable exit, and it's Shopify. Our data shows 114 domains switching to Shopify against 14 going the other way (8.1 to 1), 81 of them in the last 90 days. 23.17% of the 492 domains that left now run Shopify, against 2.01% of domains still on Commerce Cloud, an 11.5x lift, and 83 of the 114 swapped on the same day on the same host.

Those 114 domains are roughly 46 companies. OtterBox/LifeProof moved about 36 domains on June 14, 2026, and Jack Wolfskin moved 23 between August 7 and 9. Single-brand switchers include Burton, e.l.f. Cosmetics, Alexander Wang and Cole Haan. Six switchers we re-checked on September 22 all serve Shopify, with no demandware traces left. Magento's 15 lost and 16 gained is too small and symmetric to publish. Our Shopify migration analysis covers the destination side.

"114 domains sounds like a trend until you see it's about 46 companies. The corridor is real, but it's a few dozen brand decisions, each one moving a whole portfolio." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: Multi-domain brands move together, so one replatforming deal carries every country site. Shopify agencies and Commerce Cloud partners should both watch the groups with the most domains.

Cloudflare Browser Insights appears on 78.65% of the 4,727 live domains because Commerce Cloud's embedded CDN runs on Cloudflare, and CQuotient (73.79%) is Commerce Cloud Einstein. Both ship with the product, so we left them out. What remains shows Salesforce selling into its own base: iGoDigital, the tag behind Salesforce Marketing Cloud personalization, is on 19.84% and Salesforce Interaction Studio on 12.95%, against 4.84% for Dynamic Yield. Bazaarvoice leads reviews at 8.57%.

Sales Signal: Site search and chat are the open slots. No search vendor passes 3% (Constructor is at 2.98%, Algolia 2.58%) and Salesforce Live Agent leads chat at 2.69%, so there's no dominant incumbent to displace. Personalization is harder, because Salesforce's own tools got there first.

G2 review signals

G2 reviewers of Salesforce B2C Commerce praise the user-friendly interface (52 mentions) and Salesforce ecosystem integration (35). The cons concentrate on one theme. Complex setup (33), complexity of setup and customization (26), difficult setup (22) and complex implementation (21) add up to 102 mentions, with high costs (32) on top, and several say the pain falls hardest on smaller teams. Our migration data fits that without proving it: we can't see why any brand left, only that the one exit we can measure runs to Shopify at 11.5 times the base rate.

Sales Signal: Lead with implementation, not features. A partner who shortens setup answers those 102 mentions directly, and it's the conversation a brand weighing Shopify needs.

Key takeaways

1. Ahead of SAP Commerce Cloud and VTEX, with 4,659 domains against 3,628 and 2,041, despite ranking 49th of 717 overall.
2. Count changes mostly come from our side, as the crawled domain set turns over and detection widens, not from new adoption.
3. The buyer is an enterprise brand group, and the 26.49% 1-10 row is its country storefronts.
4. Fashion and Europe: fashion-adjacent industries reach 21.15%, and Europe's big five hold 28.0%.
5. Shopify is the one measurable exit: 114 domains, about 46 companies, an 11.5x lift.

Sales applications

Outreach template: "You run Salesforce Commerce Cloud across [N] country storefronts. We help brands with one storefront per market solve [localised problem] without new setup work. Worth a short call?" Targeting strategy: on TechnologyChecker.io, filter to the retail, apparel and luxury industries, group domains by the storefront serving their scripts, and start with France, the UK, Italy and Germany. Competitive angle: the 81 domains that moved to Shopify in the last 90 days are likely re-picking review and search vendors now.

Every figure above comes from our own crawl and enrichment: 4,659 Salesforce Commerce Cloud domains and 1,812 enriched companies. Filter the list by country, industry and company size on TechnologyChecker.io.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

We detect Salesforce Commerce Cloud on 4,659 domains, including Mahindra & Mahindra, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Mary Kay Inc.. A detection means the technology is present on that domain, which for large organisations is often a single storefront or subdomain rather than a company-wide deployment. Among domains we matched to a company with a resolved industry, the most common is Retail (26.18%).

How many customers does Salesforce Commerce Cloud have?

We detect 4,659 domains running Salesforce Commerce Cloud across our monthly crawl of live business domains. Company data could be matched for 1,812 of them (38.9%), and every company-size, industry and country breakdown on this page describes that matched subset rather than the full detected base. A further 559 domains carried a Salesforce Commerce Cloud detection previously and no longer do.

What is Salesforce Commerce Cloud's market share?

Salesforce Commerce Cloud holds 0.06% of the Ecommerce Platforms category, ranking #49. This is a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category — not a share of all websites, and not a share of spending — so it is not directly comparable to figures published on other denominators.

What are the best alternatives to Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

The top alternatives to Salesforce Commerce Cloud include Shopify (31% market share), WooCommerce (20.63% market share), Wix eCommerce (15.6% market share), Squarespace Commerce (14.5% market share) — measured as a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category.

Which countries use Salesforce Commerce Cloud the most?

United States leads with 653 matched Salesforce Commerce Cloud domains, followed by France (118), United Kingdom (115), Italy (101), Germany (98). These are counts within the 1,812 domains we could match to a company record, not the full detected base.

What size companies use Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

The most common company size is 1-10 employees, representing 26.49% of the Salesforce Commerce Cloud domains we could match to a company record and size — a subset of 1,812 matched companies, not of all 4,659 detected domains. This is followed by 11-50 employees (13.63%) and 51-200 employees (14.65%).

How old are companies that use Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Among the Salesforce Commerce Cloud domains we could match to a company with a known founding date, the largest group was founded in the Pre-1960 (25.99%), followed by the 1980s (16.54%). That matched subset is drawn from 1,812 companies and is not representative of all 4,659 detected domains. This suggests Salesforce Commerce Cloud is most popular among established companies.

What is the ideal customer profile for Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

The ideal Salesforce Commerce Cloud customer is: Company Size: Enterprise brands (22.64% have 1,000+ staff), Location: US and Western Europe, Founded: Pre-1960 (largest group), Industry: Retail, fashion and luxury goods, Deployment: One storefront domain per country — based on our analysis of 1,812 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

Is Demandware part of Salesforce?

Yes. Salesforce agreed to buy Demandware on June 1, 2016, at $75 a share, roughly $2.8 billion, and rebranded the platform as Salesforce Commerce Cloud. The Demandware name survives in the code: storefronts still load assets from demandware.static paths and set a dwsid session cookie, which is how TechnologyChecker.io identifies the 4,659 domains running it today.

What is Salesforce Commerce Cloud called now?

Salesforce now markets it as Agentforce Commerce. Its own EU site describes the product as "Salesforce Commerce Cloud, now called Agentforce Commerce", a change announced in October 2025. Before the 2016 acquisition it was Demandware, a company founded in 2004. The storefronts themselves still expose demandware.static asset paths and dw-prefixed cookies, so the old name is easy to spot.

What is the difference between Salesforce and Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Salesforce is the company, best known for its CRM. Salesforce Commerce Cloud is its ecommerce platform, the software that runs a brand's storefront, catalog and checkout, and it came from the Demandware acquisition in 2016. Many Commerce Cloud sites also run other Salesforce products: in our crawl, 12.95% show Salesforce Interaction Studio and 19.84% the iGoDigital tag behind Marketing Cloud personalization.

What does Salesforce Commerce Cloud do?

It runs a brand's online store: catalog, storefront pages, cart and checkout, plus Einstein product recommendations. Our crawl shows the recommendations in heavy use. Of the 2,984 detected domains where we observed third-party scripts, 2,777 load cquotient.com, the Einstein recommendations service. The customer base leans to consumer retail, with Retail and Retail Apparel and Fashion the two largest industries in our data.

How is Salesforce Commerce Cloud priced?

Salesforce prices Commerce Cloud on gross merchandise value. Its pricing pages say it charges GMV for the revenue going through your commerce storefront, so the bill grows with online sales rather than with seats. Percentages quoted online are third-party estimates, not Salesforce figures. Cost is also a common complaint: high costs draw 32 mentions among the cons on G2.

Is Salesforce Commerce Cloud still used?

Yes. Our crawl found it on 4,659 domains in September 2026, and live checks on September 22 showed storefronts such as auto.mahindra.com and partners.jpmorgan.com still setting the dwsid session cookie. There is attrition: 559 domains dropped it since we began tracking it in March 2026, and 114 domains moved to Shopify, though those belong to roughly 46 companies.

How does Salesforce Commerce Cloud compare with Shopify Plus?

They sit at opposite ends of the category. Our data counts Shopify as a whole, not Plus separately, on 2,297,523 domains against Commerce Cloud's 4,659. Commerce Cloud's customers skew to large, long-established brands: 22.64% of sized records have 1,000+ employees and 25.99% of those with a founding year date from before 1960. Commerce Cloud bills on GMV, and recent switching favours Shopify, 114 domains to 14.

Are brands moving from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify?

Some are. Our data shows 114 domains switched from Commerce Cloud to Shopify, against 14 going the other way, and 81 of those moves came in the last 90 days. The 114 domains belong to about 46 companies, including OtterBox/LifeProof, Jack Wolfskin, Burton and e.l.f. Cosmetics. Leavers run Shopify at 11.5 times the rate of sites still on Commerce Cloud.

Is Cloudflare part of Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Cloudflare is a separate company, but Commerce Cloud's embedded CDN, called eCDN, runs on Cloudflare, according to Cloudflare's own provider guide for Salesforce Commerce Cloud. That's why Cloudflare Browser Insights shows up on 78.65% of the live Commerce Cloud domains in our crawl. We leave it out of this page's tech stack because it ships with the platform rather than being a separate purchase.

Is Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2B or B2C?

Both. Salesforce sells Commerce Cloud as B2C Commerce and B2B Commerce editions. The counts on this page come from the B2C edition, the storefront that started life as Demandware, because our detection looks for its demandware.static assets, dwsid cookie and server header. That fits the customer mix too: Retail alone accounts for 26.18% of the companies we could classify.

How can you tell if a website uses Salesforce Commerce Cloud?

Look for the platform's own fingerprints. Commerce Cloud storefronts load scripts and images from paths containing /demandware.static/, set dwsid or dw_dnt cookies, expose a dwAnalytics JavaScript object, or return a Server: Demandware eCommerce Server header. TechnologyChecker.io checks these same signals, so each of the 4,659 domains we count is a working storefront, not a badge or link.

Which industries use Salesforce Commerce Cloud the most?

Retail leads at 26.18% of the 1,551 companies with an industry on record, followed by Retail Apparel and Fashion at 12.12% and Manufacturing at 5.61%. Fashion-adjacent rows, including luxury goods, apparel and sporting goods manufacturing, add up to 21.15%. Named examples include Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Cartier and New Balance, each detected on its main storefront domain in our crawl.

Who are Salesforce Commerce Cloud's main competitors?

Among enterprise commerce suites, the closest comparisons in our data are SAP Commerce Cloud on 3,628 domains and VTEX on 2,041, both behind Commerce Cloud's 4,659. Magento and BigCommerce are larger but include open-source and SMB stores. Headless platforms like commercetools and Elastic Path emit no storefront signature, so no crawl can count them. Shopify is the only platform leavers measurably move to.
