Companies Using SAP Commerce Cloud

I'm Emma Davies, a data analyst at TechnologyChecker.io. This analysis covers 3,628 SAP Commerce Cloud domains from our September 2026 crawl, 2,034 of them matched to a company record. SAP Commerce Cloud is the platform SAP bought as Hybris in 2013 and renamed in 2018, so if your team still says SAP Hybris, this is the same product. Before trusting the count, we loaded a random sample of 80 detected hosts in a browser. 56 of the 73 that loaded (76.7%) carried SAP Commerce code, and most of the rest were known SAP shops whose markers sit deeper in the site.

Growth trajectory

Our records show 2,367 domains in June 2026, 3,165 in July, 3,371 in August and 3,628 in September. That line mostly tracks our coverage. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our signals for this platform have widened. A gain of 1,261 sites in one quarter would be an implausibly fast rollout for a platform whose projects take months.

The rank needs the same care. SAP Commerce Cloud is 63rd in Ecommerce Platforms with 0.05%, behind hundreds of Shopify apps and small-store builders. The comparison that means something is with Salesforce Commerce Cloud, on 4,659 domains.

Sales Signal: Treat this as a stable installed base. Timing comes from the customer's own projects, such as an upgrade or a new storefront.

Customer profile

The size chart undersells the buyer. Its largest row is 1 to 10 employees at 33.63%, but the small end mixes country sites matched to local LinkedIn pages with a few small sites our browser check couldn't confirm. The better measure is the top: 323 of 1,811 sized companies employ more than 1,000 people, and 69 more than 10,000.

Age says the same. Companies founded before 1960 are the largest group at 29.41%, and everything before 1980 adds up to 43.84%. Graybar dates from 1869, GE Healthcare from 1892 and Lonza from 1897. These are old industrial firms that sell to other businesses, and when we loaded the 40 best-known names in a browser, 25 showed SAP Commerce markers.

Sales Signal: The buyer is an IT or digital commerce team inside a large manufacturer or distributor, and it's usually tied to an SAP ERP. Pitch integration with that back end, not storefront design.

Industry and geographic concentration

Retail is the largest single industry at 13.09%, but six manufacturing rows add up to 16.98% and the two wholesale rows to 11.89%. With Construction, B2B trade and industry make up about 32% of matched companies. Many run the platform on a subdomain built for trade customers: store.danfoss.com, parts.dematic.com, order.solventum.com.

Geography follows the vendor. The United States leads with 518 matched companies, but Germany has 447, and with Switzerland's 54 the two reach 501. The UK has 154. SAP is German, and Hybris was too.

Sales Signal: Germany and Switzerland are nearly as large a market as the United States here. A service aimed at SAP Commerce teams needs German-language sales capacity from day one.

Why there is no migration table

We measured switching and chose not to publish it. Two flows passed our statistical tests, one out to Magento and one in from Shopify, but the domains behind them were restaurants, yoga studios and similar small sites that never ran SAP Commerce Cloud. The signal flickered on and off, and a flicker looks like a switch. The same cohort explains most of the 675 domains that stopped matching since March 2026: 76.9% of them were seen only once.

The migration that does matter is inside SAP. SAP partners report that mainstream maintenance for SAP Commerce 2205, the last on-premise release, ended on July 31, 2026. Moving from on-premise to the cloud edition keeps the same storefront code, so it's invisible to a crawl.

Sales Signal: The live opportunity is the on-premise to cloud move, not competitive displacement. Any company on this list that still self-hosts has lost regular patches since July 31, 2026.

Technology ecosystem

The stack reads like an enterprise IT estate. Angular (19.93%) and Zone.js (20.58%) are the composable storefront, SAP's Angular front end first released as Spartacus, and Java shows on 30.4% of domains. Adobe Analytics is on 18.69%, Akamai mPulse on 10.73% and Dynatrace on 8.53%. OneTrust leads consent at 21.14%, with Usercentrics at 12.59%.

Sales Signal: Personalization is the open slot. Bloomreach Discovery (3.42%), Dynamic Yield (3.17%) and Monetate (2.8%) are all small, so no vendor owns this base yet.

G2 review signals

SAP Commerce Cloud has a thin G2 profile, tens of mentions per theme rather than hundreds, which fits a product sold through SAP account teams and implementation partners. Reviewers praise integration with the SAP ecosystem (18 and 12 mentions) and, less expectedly, ease of use (19). The cons are about complexity: setup and maintenance, two learning-curve themes and implementation add up to 61 mentions, with cost at 20.

That lines up with our data. A platform whose buyers are large manufacturers and distributors, and whose sites show Java on 30.4% of domains, needs skilled developers to run. The complexity complaint is the same fact seen from the project team.

Sales Signal: Lead with delivery capacity. A partner who can staff SAP Commerce developers answers the most common complaint directly.
