Companies Using Getsitecontrol

We detect Getsitecontrol on 8,768 domains, eleventh in the Popups & Lead Capture category at 2.1%. It is platform-agnostic — one script tag, no plugin — and that shows in the data: 33.3% Shopify, 21.1% WordPress, with the rest spread across everything else.

It also skews larger than the rest of this category. Only 51.2% of the companies we can size have ten employees or fewer, against 72% to 77% for the tools either side of it in the ranking.

Getsitecontrol Usage Statistics

Our current crawl window covers June to August 2026: 7,175 → 8,666 → 8,768. The June to July step is 20.8% and overlaps our corpus expanding, so treat it as coverage; the July to August step of about 100 domains is the one to quote. The category data has it at about −380 over 30 days and −140 over 90. 1,293 domains have dropped it since we began tracking in March 2026, and its 30-day churn of 7.8% is the highest of the four tools we profiled here.

There are 8,768 companies and domains where we detect Getsitecontrol, sign up to download the entire Getsitecontrol dataset.

Re/Max is the largest at about 44,900 associated members, then Pirelli, oregon.gov, RWS Group and Vanderbilt Cosmetic Surgery. A real-estate franchise network, an Italian manufacturer, a US state government and a translation company is an unusually mixed list for this category, and it is the clearest illustration of what platform independence produces: no single CMS or storefront gates who can install it.

Which Countries Use Getsitecontrol the Most?

The United States leads with 1,075 of the companies we can place, and the United Kingdom is unusually close at 564 — roughly two to one, where the rest of this category runs six or eight to one. Then Australia (226), Canada (217) and Brazil (213). This is the most internationally balanced base in the category.

Getsitecontrol Market Share Among Popups & Lead Capture

Getsitecontrol is eleventh of the 64 technologies in Popups & Lead Capture at 2.1% of 427,401 domains. Its position in the ranking understates what it is: one script tag with no platform requirement, competing against plugins that only work on WordPress and apps that only work on Shopify. Its footprint is smaller but it is the only one of the four that can be installed anywhere.

Getsitecontrol Customers by Company Size & Age

51.17% of the companies we can size have 10 employees or fewer, 27.77% have 11 to 50 and 12.12% have 51 to 200. That last band is roughly three times what Zotabox and BDOW show. Getsitecontrol reaches further up-market than the rest of this category, which is what being platform-agnostic buys you.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

40.96% were founded in the 2010s, 18.94% in the 2000s and 11.65% in the 2020s. A younger and flatter spread than BDOW's, with more of the base founded outside the single decade that dominates the older tools here.

What Industries Use Getsitecontrol the Most?

Retail leads at 6.55%, then Retail Apparel and Fashion at 2.93% and Hospitality at 2.87%. Commerce-weighted, but less sharply than Zotabox, and with hospitality appearing where the rest of the category shows agencies or publishers.

Retail253 (6.55%)

Hospitality111 (2.87%)
Technology, Information and Internet109 (2.82%)
Real Estate106 (2.74%)

The platform data explains the spread: 33.3% Shopify and 21.1% WordPress, with the remaining 45% on neither. No other tool in this category has that much of its base off the two big platforms. Note that Apple Pay, Shop Pay and PayPal each appear on roughly a quarter of these domains — we have deliberately left them out of the stack below, because on a Shopify storefront those match the footer icon block rather than an installed processor.

Getsitecontrol Alternatives & Competitors

Poptin (25,861 domains) and OptiMonk (14,555) are the closest comparisons — hosted, script-tag tools with no platform requirement. Zotabox (14,252) sits alongside at a similar size with a bundled-widget model. The WordPress plugins above it in the ranking are not really alternatives for the 45% of its base that runs neither WordPress nor Shopify.

Expert Analysis: Getsitecontrol Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Elif Arslan
Elif ArslanCMO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

I run marketing at TechnologyChecker and spend most of my time on how small teams acquire customers. Getsitecontrol is on 8,768 active domains, eleventh in Popups & Lead Capture at 2.1%. Its rank understates it, and the reason is structural.

1. It is the only one of these tools you can install anywhere

Popup Maker, the category leader, is 99.67% WordPress and cannot be installed off it. Zotabox is 42% Shopify. Getsitecontrol is one script tag with no platform requirement, and it shows: 33.3% Shopify, 21.1% WordPress, and roughly 45% on neither — the highest share off both major platforms of anything in this category.

That is a smaller footprint bought with a wider door. When you compare it to the plugins above it in the ranking, you are comparing a tool competing everywhere against tools competing inside one ecosystem each.

2. It reaches further up-market than the rest of the category

51.17% of the companies we can size have ten or fewer employees, 27.77% have 11 to 50, and 12.12% have 51 to 200. That last band is roughly three times what Zotabox (3.66%) and BDOW (5.72%) show.

The named accounts fit: Re/Max at about 44,900 associated members, then Pirelli, oregon.gov, RWS Group and Vanderbilt Cosmetic Surgery. A real-estate franchise network, an Italian tyre manufacturer, a US state government and a translation company. No other tool in this category produces a list that mixed, and the mixture is the finding — nothing about the product gates who can adopt it.

3. Its customers are already buying traffic

Facebook Pixel is on 51.05% of Getsitecontrol domains, the highest in this category, with Google Tag Manager on 79.88% and Google Analytics on 77.51%. Retail leads the industries at 6.55%, with Hospitality third at 2.87%.

"An on-site widget on a site that already runs a pixel is not a lead-gen product. It is a conversion-rate product, and it is competing for a different budget line." - Elif Arslan, CMO at TechnologyChecker.io

Half of this base is running paid acquisition. They are not using popups to find an audience, they are using them to convert traffic they have already paid for. That is a materially different sale from the one BDOW's blog-and-list audience represents, even though both sit in the same category table.

One caveat on the stack: Apple Pay, Shop Pay and PayPal each appear on roughly a quarter of these domains. On a Shopify storefront those match the footer icon block rather than an installed processor, so we leave them out of the co-occurrence table rather than imply a payments relationship that is not there.

4. Easy to try, easy to drop

Its 30-day churn is 7.8%, the highest of the four tools I looked at in this category, and 1,293 domains have dropped it since March 2026. Of the 1,083 that dropped it entirely, 8 now run POWR — 0.74%.

One script tag cuts both ways. It removes every barrier to trying the product and every barrier to removing it, and there is no plugin directory, app store or platform relationship holding the customer in place. The international spread is unusually healthy — the UK is 564 companies against the US at 1,075, about two to one where the rest of this category runs six or eight to one — so the top-of-funnel is working. Retention is where the number is.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses Getsitecontrol?

We detect Getsitecontrol on 8,768 domains, including Re/Max, Vanderbiltcosmeticsurgery, Pirelli & C. S.p.A.. A detection means the technology is present on that domain, which for large organisations is often a single storefront or subdomain rather than a company-wide deployment. Among domains we matched to a company with a resolved industry, the most common is Retail (6.55%).

How many customers does Getsitecontrol have?

We detect 8,768 domains running Getsitecontrol across our monthly crawl of live business domains. Company data could be matched for 4,354 of them (49.7%), and every company-size, industry and country breakdown on this page describes that matched subset rather than the full detected base. A further 1,293 domains carried a Getsitecontrol detection previously and no longer do.

What is Getsitecontrol's market share?

Getsitecontrol holds 2.05% of the Popups & Lead Capture category, ranking #11. This is a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category — not a share of all websites, and not a share of spending — so it is not directly comparable to figures published on other denominators.

What are the best alternatives to Getsitecontrol?

The top alternatives to Getsitecontrol include Popup Maker (27.32% market share), POWR (12.52% market share), Privy (8.85% market share), Mailmunch (8.19% market share) — measured as a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category.

Which countries use Getsitecontrol the most?

The United States at 1,075 of the companies we can place and the United Kingdom unusually close at 564 — about two to one, where the rest of this category runs six or eight to one. Then Australia (226), Canada (217) and Brazil (213). This is the most internationally balanced base here.

What size companies use Getsitecontrol?

Larger than the rest of this category. 51.17% have ten employees or fewer, 27.77% have 11 to 50 and 12.12% have 51 to 200. That last band is roughly three times what Zotabox and BDOW show, which is what platform independence buys.

How old are companies that use Getsitecontrol?

Among the Getsitecontrol domains we could match to a company with a known founding date, most were founded in the 2020s (11.65%), followed by the 2010s (40.96%). That matched subset is drawn from 4,354 companies and is not representative of all 8,768 detected domains. This suggests Getsitecontrol is most popular among relatively young companies.

What is the ideal customer profile for Getsitecontrol?

The ideal Getsitecontrol customer is: Platform: Shopify or anything else, Company Size: 1-50 employees, Industry: Retail and hospitality, Location: US or UK, Founded: 2010s or later — based on our analysis of 4,354 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

How many websites use Getsitecontrol?

We detect Getsitecontrol on 8,768 active domains, eleventh in the Popups & Lead Capture category at 2.1%. Our window runs 7,175 in June to 8,768 in August 2026, with the July-to-August step at about 100 domains.

What makes Getsitecontrol different from the tools above it?

It has no platform requirement. Popup Maker only works on WordPress; Zotabox is heavily Shopify. Getsitecontrol is one script tag, and 45% of its base runs neither WordPress nor Shopify — the highest share off both platforms in this category. Its footprint is smaller, but nothing gates who can install it.

Which companies use Getsitecontrol?

Among the largest: Re/Max (about 44,900 associated members), Pirelli, oregon.gov, RWS Group and Vanderbilt Cosmetic Surgery. A real-estate franchise network, an Italian manufacturer, a US state government and a translation company is an unusually mixed list for this category, and it is the clearest illustration of what having no platform requirement produces.

Is Getsitecontrol used for ecommerce?

Substantially. Shopify is on 33.3% of its domains and retail is the top industry at 6.55%, with Hospitality third at 2.87%. Facebook Pixel reaches 51.05%, the highest in this category — this is a base already buying traffic and using on-site widgets to convert it. Note that Apple Pay, Shop Pay and PayPal each appear on roughly a quarter of these domains; on a Shopify storefront those are the footer icon block, not installed processors, so we exclude them from the stack.

How sticky is Getsitecontrol?

Less than its neighbours. Its 30-day churn is 7.8%, the highest of the four tools we profiled in this category, and 1,293 domains have dropped it since March 2026. Of the 1,083 that dropped it entirely, 8 now run POWR — 0.74%. Easy to try, easy to drop, and rarely replaced with a competitor.
