Companies Using ReadSpeaker

I have spent more than a decade building crawlers and technographic datasets. ReadSpeaker is the page in this category I most wanted to write. Our August 2026 crawl finds it on 5,703 active domains and matches 4,347 to enriched company records, a 76.2% match rate. One thing before the numbers: ReadSpeaker is not an accessibility overlay. It is text-to-speech, and it sits in this category by classification rather than by product design.

Growth trajectory

ReadSpeaker entered our long-run detection history in November 2008 on one domain and climbed slowly, reaching 613 by the end of 2016 and 2,690 by the end of 2023. The chart splices two systems, our long-run history through July 2025 and our crawler from June 2026, so the step across that gap is coverage, and the 2024 to 2025 dip is that artifact in reverse. What measures growth is our own three months: 5,068 in June, 5,690 in July, 5,703 in August, a 1.13x move against a crawl that grew 1.18x. In relative terms ReadSpeaker is flat.

Sales Signal: This is a contract-shaped market and nothing in it rewards urgency messaging. The calendar that matters is the tender cycle, and a flat relative trend means displacement has to be argued on requirements rather than momentum.

Customer profile

By headcount band, 37.8% of ReadSpeaker companies report 1 to 10 employees. Take that at face value and you would call this a small-business product. Do not. It is a labelling artifact: the Lower Saxony state portal niedersachsen.de carries a 1 to 10 headcount on LinkedIn and it is a state government. The band that survives scrutiny is the enterprise one. 9.82% sit in the 1,001 to 5,000 range, the heaviest enterprise weight of any vendor in this category. Age says the same: 36.97% were founded in the 2010s but 29.52% date from the 1990s or earlier, a set that includes Rotterdam (1340) and Uppsala University (1477). The largest named customers are Orange, ING and Deutsche Telekom.

Sales Signal: Filter on the detection, not the headcount field. The 1 to 10 band is full of government portals with thin LinkedIn pages, so a size filter alone buries your best accounts.

Industry and geographic concentration

Government Administration is the largest vertical at 32.01% of the ten industries we chart, with Hospitals and Health Care at 18.7% and Civic and Social Organizations at 12.4%. Between them the public and social sector accounts for nearly all of the charted base. Geography is tighter still. The Netherlands is 38.03% of enriched companies with a country on file and Germany is 29.45%, with Sweden adding 5.74%. The United States is 2.53%. That one number separates ReadSpeaker from every other vendor here, because the American accessibility market is driven by litigation and ReadSpeaker barely competes in it.

Sales Signal: If your product is positioned around US legal risk, this install base is the wrong list. For Dutch, German or Swedish public bodies it is close to a directory of the ones that already hold an accessibility budget.

Migration patterns

Since 16 March 2026 we have watched 142 domains drop ReadSpeaker, 2.4% of the 5,827 domains we have ever seen it on and the lowest churn rate in the category. Exactly one of those 142 later appeared running a different accessibility tool, and it went to Silktide. Traffic the other way is as thin: two domains from Pojo.me, two from UserWay, one from Texthelp, one from accessiBe. Across the category only 0.7% to 3.5% of churn reaches a rival. UserWay lost 16,077 domains and 185 of them, 1.2%, went to another accessibility product. Sites here do not switch widgets, they take the widget off.

Sales Signal: A 2.4% drop rate means displacement campaigns fail here. These are multi-year contracts owned inside a procurement function, so the realistic play is co-selling into the same accounts.

Technology ecosystem

The co-occurring stack gives the buyer away. Matomo runs on 22.97% of ReadSpeaker domains against Google Analytics at 39.8%, a ratio you rarely see outside institutions with data residency rules. TYPO3 sits at 14.19% and Drupal at 7.61% next to WordPress at 28.9%, and consent splits between Cookie Control (11.85%) and Cookiebot (11.7%). Every one of those choices points the same way: a European institution with a GDPR obligation and a preference for software it can audit. Sales Signal: ReadSpeaker plus TYPO3 plus Matomo describes a buyer that has already paid for privacy-first tooling and will pay again. Anything sold on EU hosting or public-sector compliance has a qualified list inside that intersection.

What the review sites cannot tell you

We normally cross-check a vendor against review aggregates. ReadSpeaker has a G2 page but too few reviews for G2 to publish a pros and cons summary, so this page carries no review data. For a vendor whose buyers are European government bodies, that thin English-language review base is the expected outcome rather than a surprise. Review aggregates count how many customers a vendor can persuade to write a review, which reads sentiment well among self-serve buyers and close to blind where the purchase is a tender and the user is a civil servant who will not post publicly. The public record is more use. The FTC settled with accessiBe for $1M over how it described its AI overlay, complaint January 2025 and final order that April. AudioEye has sued accessiBe for patent infringement. Courts have rejected overlay widgets as an ADA defence, and 3,117 federal website accessibility lawsuits were filed in 2025. None of that touches ReadSpeaker, because none of it is about text-to-speech.

Sales Signal: Treat the absence of review volume as information, not a gap. A vendor you cannot find on G2 but can find on Belastingdienst and Services Australia is a procurement product.

Competitive angle: do not run a displacement play, run a coverage play. ReadSpeaker reads pages aloud and does nothing about contrast or focus order, so its 5,703 domains have solved one accessibility requirement and can be asked about the rest.
