Companies Using Facebook
Our October 2026 crawl finds a Meta domain-verification record in the DNS of 590,855 domains. It's a TXT record, facebook-domain-verification= followed by a code, that a business publishes to prove it owns a domain inside its Meta business account. So these are organisations with a Meta business account, mostly Facebook and Instagram advertisers and Page owners. The record isn't a Like button, and it isn't the tracking script: that's the Facebook Pixel, which also runs on 49.32% of these domains. Below are the companies that use Facebook this way, with industry, size and country, including Accenture, McDonald's, Starbucks and Nike.
Read 590,855 as a floor. Meta also accepts an HTML file or a meta tag, which leave no DNS trace, and plenty of advertisers never verify a domain. Most of the base is small: 54.56% of matched companies with a known headcount have ten or fewer staff, and the United States holds 97,609 of the 346,753 companies we matched, ahead of Brazil (27,088) and the United Kingdom (22,795). We file Facebook under Social Media & Content Curation but don't publish a market share, because that table is built from share buttons and feed widgets.

Facebook Usage Statistics
How many businesses have verified a domain with Meta? Our count reads 473,105 domains in June 2026, 564,648 in July, 569,356 in August, 584,823 in September and 590,855 in October. Most of the rise came in one step, June to July, and that step is ours more than a rush of new advertisers. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead domains dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection widens over time; both push a count like this up. Exits are small. 10,022 domains have lost the record since we began tracking it in March 2026, 1.7% of the 590,855, and 830 of them still carried it on another hostname when we checked on 11 October. Meta asks businesses to leave the record in place, so it rarely comes down.

Which Countries Use Facebook the Most?
Which countries use Facebook the most? The United States, with 97,609 matched companies, then Brazil (27,088), the United Kingdom (22,795), Germany (15,536) and Australia (14,792). The US holds 28.15% of the 346,753 companies we matched, against 58.39% on our Amazon Business page, which counts the same kind of record. Brazil places ahead of every European market, and India (12,109) sits just behind Canada (13,103). These counts cover matched companies, not every domain carrying the record.
Share of the 346,753 Facebook domains we matched to a company record — 58.7% of the 590,855 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Facebook Market Share Among Social Media & Content Curation
What is Facebook's market share? We don't publish one. Our Social Media & Content Curation table at TechnologyChecker.io is built from things a crawler sees on a page: share buttons and feed widgets from Twitter, AddToAny, ShareThis and Pinterest. A Meta verification record would sit at the top of that table, and the ranking would mean nothing, because the record marks a business account, not a widget. That's also why this page has no competitor table. Read 590,855 as an absolute count of domains verified with Meta.
Facebook Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Facebook? Small ones, overwhelmingly. 54.56% of matched companies with a known headcount have one to ten employees and 25.75% have 11 to 50, so 80.31% have 50 or fewer. Only 2.79% (9,233 of 330,860) employ more than 1,000. That's the shape of a self-serve ad platform: a fitness studio, an estate agent or a Shopify store verifies its domain to control how its links appear in ads. The large names on our list are real, but at that size the record says a marketing team claimed the main domain, not what it spends.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
44.48% of matched companies with a known founding year started in the 2010s and 18.77% in the 2020s, so 63.25% were founded in 2010 or later. Only 21.36% (46,900 of 219,615) date from before 2000. The list leans young, as you'd expect from businesses that find customers through paid social. The older end isn't empty, though: 11,808 companies were founded before 1960, Siemens and Pfizer among them.
What Industries Use Facebook the Most?
Retail leads at 6.99%, then advertising services (4.73%), IT services (3.8%), software development (3.35%) and internet companies (3.32%), based on our enriched company data. The top ten industries add up to 34.74% of matched companies, so this is a horizontal list. Two groups stand out for a seller: consumer businesses such as apparel (2.86%), real estate (2.78%) and wellness and fitness (2.66%) that buy their own ads, and agencies, which verify their own domains while Meta asks them to have each client verify its domain in the client's own account.
Retail brands using Facebook include Starbucks, Nike, Lowe's and Walgreens, each with a Meta verification record on its main domain. Restaurant chains with a Meta business account include McDonald's, Domino's and Subway. Hotel groups verified with Meta include Marriott, Hilton and Accor, and on the business-to-business side Accenture, Deloitte and IBM carry the record too.
Tech Stack of Facebook-Powered Websites
These percentages are of the 591,374 live domains in our clean set. The ad stack comes first: the Facebook Pixel runs on 49.32%, so about half the domains verified with Meta also send it conversion data from the page, at least on the pages we crawl. The TikTok Pixel is on 8.29%, Google Ads conversion tracking on 7.36% and the LinkedIn Insight Tag on 5.34%. Shopify builds 22.36% of the sites and WordPress 29.39%, and Klaviyo (9.59%) is ahead of Mailchimp (6.13%) for email, so a large share of this list sells online.

Expert Analysis: Facebook Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Search for companies that use Facebook and you mostly find lists of brands with a Page. That isn't much of a signal, since nearly every consumer brand has one. The record this page counts is narrower and, for a marketer, more useful: a business that verified its domain with Meta. To do that by DNS, an admin publishes a TXT record, facebook-domain-verification= plus a code, and Meta's developer guide tells them to leave it in place because Meta may check it again. Our October 2026 crawl finds that record on 590,855 domains. We matched 346,753 of the 591,375 in our clean live set to a company, a 58.64% match rate.
What the record proves
It proves someone with access to the domain's DNS set up a Meta business account and claimed the domain. Meta's help page on domain verification gives the reasons to bother: to control who can edit links to its domain in ads and organic posts, to sell through Facebook commerce surfaces, to join the news Page index, and to finish business verification when its email domain or phone number won't do. Each of those is an advertiser's or publisher's job, and none puts anything on the website, which is why this page and our Facebook Pixel page count different things.
It's also a floor. Meta accepts two other methods, an HTML file in the site's root and a meta tag on the home page, and neither shows up in DNS. The match rate, 58.64%, is low next to the 84.84% (7,645 of 9,011) on our Amazon Business page, measured the same way, most likely because a one-person shop with an ad account often has no LinkedIn company page to match.
Sales signal: read each row as "this business has run, or set up to run, Meta campaigns for its own domain." For ad tech, creative tools and agency services that's a stronger signal than a Page count, and a weaker one than spend data, which a DNS record can't give you.
Growth trajectory
The chart reads 473,105 domains in June, 564,648 in July, 569,356 in August, 584,823 in September and 590,855 in October. Most of the gain, 91,543 domains, arrives between June and July, and the line has added 26,207 since. I wouldn't read that June step as a wave of new advertisers. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead domains dropping out and new ones added, and our detection widens over time, so a count like this jumps when our coverage does.
Few domains leave. 10,022 have lost the record since we began tracking it in March 2026, 1.7% of today's count, and 830 of them still carried it on another hostname when I checked on 11 October. Meta asks businesses to keep the record, so a company that stops advertising has little reason to delete it. Low churn here describes the record, not how loyal advertisers are.
"A Like button tells you a website wanted social proof. A verified domain tells you a business opened Meta's ad tools and claimed its own URL. If you sell to marketing teams, the second fact is the one worth building a list on." - Elif Arslan, CMO and Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat the list as a stable universe, not a timing trigger. The record won't tell you when a business started or stopped advertising, but it does tell you that someone there owns the Meta relationship.
Who the customers are
Mostly small businesses. 54.56% of matched companies with a known headcount have ten or fewer employees, 25.75% have 11 to 50, and only 2.79% (9,233 of 330,860) employ more than 1,000. They're young too: 44.48% of those with a known founding year started in the 2010s and 18.77% in the 2020s, so 63.25% date from 2010 or later. Picture a fitness studio, an estate agent or an online shop that buys its own ads. There's no entry fee to stop them: Meta says Meta Business Suite is free to use, and advertisers set their own budgets.
The big names are real. Accenture, Deloitte, McDonald's, IBM, Siemens, Bank of America, Starbucks, Apple and Nike all carry the record, and I checked every one of the 50 companies on this page in DNS. At that size the record says a marketing team verified the main domain. It says nothing about budget, and a group with many brands may verify each one in a different account.
Sales signal: for most of this list, the person who verified the domain is the owner or a one-person marketing team. Pitch the work they do by hand, such as creative, reporting or product feeds, and price for a small business. The enterprise rows need a separate motion that starts with the brand team.
Industries and countries
Retail leads at 6.99%, then advertising services (4.73%), IT services (3.8%), software development (3.35%) and internet companies (3.32%). The top ten add up to 34.74%, so no vertical owns this list. For a seller, the consumer businesses matter most, such as apparel (2.86%), real estate (2.78%) and wellness and fitness (2.66%), and so do agencies. Agencies verify their own domains, and Meta's guide asks them to have each client verify its domain in the client's own account.
Geography is broad. The United States has 97,609 matched companies, 28.15% of the 346,753, then Brazil (27,088), the United Kingdom (22,795), Germany (15,536), Australia (14,792) and Canada (13,103). India (12,109) and the Netherlands (10,994) follow. Brazil in second place is the figure I'd act on, because it ranks ahead of every European market.
Sales signal: a Portuguese-language campaign aimed at Brazilian retailers reaches more matched companies (27,088) than Germany (15,536) and France (10,071) combined. The advertising services rows are the other shortcut: an agency that runs Meta campaigns for clients can carry your product into many accounts at once.
Pixel, no Pixel and the rest of the stack
Percentages here are of the 591,374 live domains in our clean set. The Facebook Pixel runs on 49.32%. So about half the businesses that verified a domain also fire Meta's browser script on the pages we crawl, and about half don't. Some of that second half send events server-side, which a crawler can't see; others verified for link control or commerce and never set up tracking. For scale, our Facebook Pixel profile counts 3,428,681 domains, so most sites that run the Pixel haven't published this record.
Second ad channels are thin. The TikTok Pixel is on 8.29%, Google Ads conversion tracking on 7.36%, the LinkedIn Insight Tag on 5.34%, Pinterest's conversion tag on 1.96% and the Snapchat Pixel on 1.23%. The storefront side is heavier: Shopify builds 22.36% of these sites and WooCommerce 6.72%, WordPress runs 29.39% and Elementor 11.71%, and Klaviyo (9.59%) is ahead of Mailchimp (6.13%) for email.
"Half of the businesses that verified a domain with Meta don't run the Pixel on the pages we crawl. Some track server-side and some don't track at all, and either way that half is the first list I'd hand a measurement vendor." - Elif Arslan, CMO and Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: the verified-without-Pixel half is the opening for conversion tracking and server-side event tools. For a second ad channel the gap is wider still: fewer than one in ten of these domains runs the TikTok Pixel.
Why there's no market share
Our Social Media & Content Curation table is built from share buttons and feed widgets such as AddToAny and ShareThis. A Meta business account would top it, and that position would tell you nothing, so we publish neither a share nor a competitor table. The ad-channel figures above are the fairer comparison.
Key takeaways
1. 590,855 domains carry a Meta domain-verification record in October 2026, a floor on business accounts, with 346,753 matched to a company.
2. It's a small-business list: 54.56% of matched companies with a known headcount have ten or fewer staff, and 63.25% were founded in 2010 or later.
3. The United States leads with 97,609 matched companies, and Brazil (27,088) is second, ahead of every European country.
4. The Facebook Pixel runs on 49.32% of these domains, so the record and the Pixel measure different things.
5. Exits are low, 10,022 since March, because Meta asks businesses to keep the record.
How to use this list
Start with the size band you sell to, then split by whether the domain runs the Pixel. A first line that works for a creative or reporting tool: "You verified your domain with Meta, so you run your own campaigns; here's how other retailers your size cut the hours they spend on ad creative." Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Facebook?
Mostly small businesses that advertise on Facebook and Instagram. Our October 2026 crawl finds a Meta domain-verification record on 590,855 domains, and 54.56% of matched companies with a known headcount have ten or fewer staff. Retail (6.99%) and advertising services (4.73%) are the largest industries. Verified names include Accenture, McDonald's, Starbucks, Nike, Marriott and Unilever.
How many customers does Facebook have?
Counting business accounts only, we find 590,855 domains carrying a Meta domain-verification record in October 2026, 346,753 of them matched to a company. That's a floor. Meta lets a business verify with a DNS record, an HTML file or a meta tag, and we only count the DNS record. Many advertisers never verify a domain at all.
What is Facebook's market share?
We don't publish one. The record we count is a Meta business account, while our Social Media & Content Curation table is built from share buttons and feed widgets such as AddToAny, ShareThis and Pinterest's. A share would set an advertiser account against a share button. Treat 590,855 as a count of verified domains, not a share.
Which countries use Facebook the most?
The United States, with 97,609 matched companies, then Brazil (27,088), the United Kingdom (22,795), Germany (15,536), Australia (14,792) and Canada (13,103). The US holds 28.15% of the 346,753 companies we matched, and Brazil places ahead of every European market. These counts cover matched companies, not every domain that carries the record.
What size companies use Facebook?
Small ones. 54.56% of matched companies with a known headcount have one to ten employees and 25.75% have 11 to 50, so 80.31% have 50 or fewer. Only 2.79% (9,233 of 330,860) employ more than 1,000. Large brands such as Accenture and McDonald's do verify their domains, but they're a thin layer on top of a small-business list.
How old are companies that use Facebook?
Young, mostly. 44.48% of matched companies with a known founding year started in the 2010s and 18.77% in the 2020s, so 63.25% were founded in 2010 or later. Only 21.36% (46,900 of 219,615) date from before 2000. The older end still holds 11,808 companies founded before 1960, including Siemens and Pfizer.
What is the ideal customer profile for Facebook?
The ideal Facebook customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (54.56%), Location: US, then Brazil, UK, Germany, Industry: Retail, advertising, IT services, Founded: 2010s (44.48%); 63.25% since 2010, Signal: Domain verified with Meta — based on our analysis of 346,753 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What are the best alternatives to Facebook?
For advertisers, the other paid social and search channels. On the domains verified with Meta, the TikTok Pixel runs on 8.29%, Google Ads conversion tracking on 7.36%, the LinkedIn Insight Tag on 5.34%, Pinterest's conversion tag on 1.96% and the Snapchat Pixel on 1.23%. These run alongside Meta, not instead of it, since every one of these domains is still verified with Meta.
How do I verify my domain on Facebook?
In Meta's business settings, open Brand Safety, then Domains, add the domain and pick one method: a DNS TXT record, an HTML file uploaded to the site's root, or a meta tag on the home page. Meta asks you to leave the record in place because it may check it again. Our count of 590,855 domains sees only the DNS method.
Is it worth it to be verified on Facebook?
It depends which verification you mean. Domain verification lets a business control who edits links to its domain in ads and posts, and Meta needs it for some commerce and news Page set-ups. Meta also says business verification won't give you a verified badge; that's the separate Meta Verified product. 590,855 domains have verified with Meta by DNS.
Is the Facebook Pixel the same as Facebook domain verification?
No. The Pixel is a script on your pages that sends conversion events to Meta; domain verification is a DNS record, file or meta tag that proves you own the domain. They often travel together: 49.32% of the domains verified with Meta also run the Pixel on pages we crawl. The other half verified without it, at least where we looked.
Do companies have Facebook accounts?
Most consumer-facing ones do, and our data shows how many went as far as verifying a domain: 590,855 in October 2026. We matched 346,753 of them to a company, including Accenture, Deloitte, IBM, McDonald's and Bank of America. A verified domain means someone with DNS access set up a Meta business account for that brand and claimed its website.
Who is Facebook's biggest customer?
Meta doesn't name its biggest advertisers, and a DNS record can't show spend. By LinkedIn following, the largest organisations on our list of verified domains are Accenture, Deloitte, McDonald's, IBM, Capgemini and PwC. Treat those as the best-known companies with a Meta business account, not the biggest spenders; at that size the record may belong to a single brand team.
Does Meta Business Suite charge?
No. Meta's help centre says Meta Business Suite is free to use on desktop and in its mobile app. Ads are where the money goes: Meta says advertisers decide how much to spend, through budgets and bid strategies. A free entry point fits what we see in our data, where 54.56% of matched companies on this page have ten or fewer staff.
Does Facebook Business Manager still exist?
Under other names. Meta's help pages now talk about business portfolios inside Meta Business Suite, while its developer guide to verifying a domain, updated in June 2026, still says Business Manager. The record hasn't changed: businesses still publish a TXT value starting facebook-domain-verification, and that's what our crawl reads on 590,855 domains.
Is Facebook growing or declining?
Among business accounts, our count rose from 473,105 domains in June 2026 to 590,855 in October, but most of that came in one step between June and July. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month and our detection widens, so read it as coverage as much as growth. 10,022 domains have lost the record since March.
