Companies Using Better Stack
Our October 2026 crawl finds Better Stack on 3,352 domains, and on most of them Better Stack runs the company's status page rather than its website. About 88% of the domains we count have a status subdomain pointed at Better Stack, so a detection here usually means a team publishes its uptime and incident history through Better Stack. Below is the list of companies that use Better Stack, with size, country and industry. It includes Hugging Face, Trezor, HoneyBook, the Eclipse Foundation and the UK's Independent Schools Inspectorate.
The rest is smaller. About 225 domains load Better Stack's JavaScript tag for error tracking and session replay on their own site, Swanson Vitamins and Gardner White among them, and 112 only embed its status widget. Better Stack ranks 16th of the 58 tools in APM & Error Tracking with 0.12%, in a category built around error-tracking scripts rather than status pages. Its customers are young and small: 53.82% of matched companies were founded in the 2020s, and 65.44% have 10 or fewer staff.

Better Stack Usage Statistics
Our crawl reads 166 Better Stack domains in June 2026, 200 in July, then 2,254 in August, 3,281 in September and 3,352 in October. August wasn't a rush of new status pages. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time, so that step reflects changes on our side rather than a surge in adoption. Since September the line has barely moved. Only 75 domains have dropped Better Stack since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, and 19 of those still show it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use Better Stack the Most?
Which countries use Better Stack the most? The United States, with 762 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (176), the Netherlands (92), Germany (89), France (86) and Canada (74). Europe weighs more than the US lead suggests. The ten European countries in the top 15 add up to 609 companies, against 762 for the US. Czechia, where Better Stack's careers page places its open roles in Prague, has 24. These counts cover the 2,156 Better Stack domains we matched to a company.
Share of the 2,156 Better Stack domains we matched to a company record — 64.3% of the 3,352 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Better Stack Market Share Among APM & Error Tracking
What is Better Stack's market share? 0.12% of APM & Error Tracking, 16th of the 58 tools we track there, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The share undersells it, because this category counts error-tracking scripts on websites and Better Stack mostly shows up on status pages. Sentry holds 72.56% on 1,966,067 domains, and Pingdom RUM has 0.31% on 8,449. The fairer yardstick is another status-page host: Atlassian Statuspage, whose profile counts 7,212 domains in October 2026, about 2.2 times Better Stack's 3,352.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Better Stack Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Better Stack? Small ones, almost entirely. 65.44% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 27.93% have 11 to 50, so 93.37% have 50 staff or fewer. Only 3 companies have more than 1,000 staff. The larger names on the list, such as Namirial (501 to 1,000) and Greytip, the company behind greytHR (201 to 500), run a status page for software their own customers log into every day.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
Better Stack's customers are young. 53.82% of matched companies were founded in the 2020s and 37.62% in the 2010s. Across the 554 technology profiles we publish, the median 2020s share is 17.51%, so Better Stack's is about three times it. Only 8.57% were founded before 2010. The oldest names on the list, Gardner White (1912) and Jyske Finans (1959), use Better Stack on their websites rather than for a status page.
What Industries Use Better Stack the Most?
Software Development leads at 29.66%, then Technology, Information and Internet (19.06%) and IT Services and IT Consulting (9.89%), based on our enriched company data. Those three come to 58.61%. Financial Services is fourth at 4.82%, with payment companies such as Online Payment Platform and Dejavoo on the list. A status page exists for a product people log into, so the buyer is a SaaS or platform company far more often than a shop.
Software companies using Better Stack include Hugging Face, HoneyBook, Tally, Fingerprint and QA Wolf, each on its own status subdomain. Fintech companies on Better Stack include Online Payment Platform in the Netherlands and Dejavoo Systems, both on status pages, and Bluestock in India, which shows Better Stack's status widget on its homepage. Education organisations using Better Stack include the Independent Schools Inspectorate, MagicSchool and Flat World Knowledge.
Better Stack Alternatives & Competitors
This table puts Better Stack beside Sentry, New Relic and Datadog because they share a category, but most Better Stack detections are status pages, and none of those three is a status-page host. Sentry's 72.56% on 1,966,067 domains comes from error-tracking scripts. There is one real overlap. Better Stack sells Sentry-compatible error tracking, and its own status-page app runs Sentry's open-source browser SDK, so the Sentry signal appears on almost every Better Stack status page with no Sentry account behind it. The like-for-like rivals are status and uptime tools: Atlassian Statuspage, Pingdom and UptimeRobot, which we don't count reliably.
| Technology | Domains | Market Share |

| 1,966,067 | 72.56% | |

Tech Stack of Better Stack-Powered Websites
Percentages here are of the 3,547 live Better Stack domains in our crawl, and the top rows describe Better Stack's status-page app, not its customers. That app is a Ruby on Rails application (87.57%), and every status page we opened carried the same Google Analytics property and Google Ads tag, Better Stack's own, which is why Google Analytics shows 96.11%. The customers' own sites appear further down, because we read the stack per domain: Next.js on 43.05%, Vercel on 27.74%, Astro on 7.64% and Plausible on 5.47%, a modern JavaScript stack that fits a software customer base.

Expert Analysis: Better Stack Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I've spent most of my career on crawlers, and Better Stack is one of the few detections that says more about a company's operations than about its website. A domain counts here when one of its pages loads a script from Better Stack (betterstack.com, betterstack.net or the older betteruptime.com). As of our October 2026 crawl that's 3,352 domains, 2,156 of them matched to a company, 16th of the 58 tools we track in APM & Error Tracking. Most of those pages are status pages, hosted by Better Stack on the customer's own subdomain.
What a detection means
The status page product works like this: you add one CNAME record and status.yourdomain.com shows your uptime and incidents. 13 of the 14 status hosts I looked up resolve to statuspage.betteruptime.com, a host still carrying Better Stack's old name. Splitting the live domains by what they load, about 88% are status pages like that. About 225 load Better Stack's JavaScript tag, its error-tracking and session-replay script, on the company's own site, and 112 only embed a status widget. I also pulled 12 live hostnames at random: 10 were status pages hosted by Better Stack and two were customer apps carrying the JavaScript tag.
Sales signal: a Better Stack detection says the company runs a product whose users need to know when it's down. That's a SaaS or platform company with an on-call habit, which qualifies a lead better than most website tags do.
Growth trajectory
The chart reads 166 domains in June 2026, 200 in July, 2,254 in August, 3,281 in September and 3,352 in October. Don't read August as a stampede. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection signals widen over time, so the step reflects changes on our side rather than a surge in adoption. Churn is the number I'd watch. Since we started tracking Better Stack on 16 March 2026, 75 domains have dropped it, and 19 of those still show it on another hostname.
"A status page is one of the last things a SaaS company moves. Once customers have bookmarked status.yourcompany.com, changing it means telling every one of them." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat these 3,352 domains as an installed base, not a pool of switchers. With 75 drops in seven months, selling a replacement status page into this list will be slow work.
Who publishes a Better Stack status page
Software companies, and young ones. Software Development is 29.66% of matched companies, Technology, Information and Internet 19.06% and IT services 9.89%. 65.44% have 1 to 10 employees and only 3 have more than 1,000. Age is the striking part: 53.82% were founded in the 2020s, while the median 2020s share across the 554 technology profiles we publish is 17.51%. The best-known names are SaaS and developer brands, among them Hugging Face, HoneyBook, Tally, Fingerprint, SEON, QA Wolf, Trezor and the Eclipse Foundation, each on its own status subdomain. The exceptions are older companies using a different product. Gardner White, a Michigan furniture retailer founded in 1912, and Swanson Vitamins load Better Stack's JavaScript tag on their shops, and Jyske Finans, a Danish finance company, shows its status widget on its homepage.
Sales signal: for developer tools, this is close to a ready-made list of young SaaS companies with production incidents to manage. Filter on a 2020s founding year and 11 to 50 staff to find teams at the size where on-call stops being one founder's phone.
Where they are
The United States has 762 matched companies, the United Kingdom 176, the Netherlands 92, Germany 89, France 86 and Canada 74. Add up the ten European countries in the top 15 and you get 609, not far short of the US. Czechia has 24, and Better Stack's careers page places its open roles in Prague. India (66) and Brazil (44) are the largest markets outside North America and Europe, and two Brazilian beauty brands, Contém1g and Sallve, run the JavaScript tag on their own shops.
Sales signal: European companies make up a large share of this list, and most of them already publish their incident history in public. For incident-response or compliance tooling sold in Europe, that openness is a useful qualifier.
No switching corridor
We test Better Stack against Sentry, Datadog and New Relic for switching, and none of the pairs passes. No flow in either direction tops 23 domains, and most domains ever seen with Better Stack and Sentry still run both. That overlap isn't a choice the customer made. Better Stack's status-page app loads Sentry's open-source browser SDK and reports into Better Stack's own error tracking, which its product page describes as Sentry-compatible. So the Sentry signal arrives with the status page.
"Nearly every Better Stack status page also shows up as Sentry in a crawl. That's Better Stack's own app using Sentry's SDK, not a customer paying Sentry." - David Thomson, CTO at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: if you sell error tracking, don't assume a Better Stack status-page customer already pays for Sentry. Check the company's main site on its own.
The stack around it
Percentages here are of the 3,547 live Better Stack domains in our crawl. The top rows belong to Better Stack, not the customer: Google Analytics on 96.11% and Ruby on Rails on 87.57%. Every status page I opened carried the same Google Analytics property and the same Google Ads tag, Better Stack's own, on a Rails app with Turbo. Microsoft Advertising and Google Ads conversion tracking each sit near 88% for the same reason. The customers' own websites show up further down, because we read the stack per domain: Next.js on 43.05%, Vercel on 27.74%, Astro on 7.64% and Plausible on 5.47%.
Sales signal: to profile a Better Stack customer, skip the tags on its status page and read the main site. Next.js, often on Vercel, is the most common setup.
What it costs
Better Stack's pricing page (checked 12 October 2026) has a free plan with 10 monitors and one status page. A responder licence costs $29 a month billed annually or $34 month to month, extra status pages $12 or $15 a month each, and removing the "Powered by Better Stack" footer $208 or $250 per page a month. Of the 70 status pages we opened from our company list, 7 had no footer: Bright Software Group, the Eclipse Foundation, Online Payment Platform, Hospitable, Wobot, Clerk.io and Profound.
Sales signal: a white-labelled status page is a cheap spend signal to check. At list price, removing the footer costs $2,496 to $3,000 a year per page, paid for branding alone.
Key takeaways
1. 3,352 domains, about 88% of them status pages hosted by Better Stack.
2. A young, small base: 53.82% founded in the 2020s and 65.44% with 1 to 10 staff.
3. Very little churn: 75 drops since March 2026, 19 of them still live on another hostname.
4. The Google Analytics, Rails and Sentry signals on these domains are Better Stack's own.
5. 0.12% of APM & Error Tracking understates it; Atlassian Statuspage, at 7,212 domains, is the fairer comparison.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Better Stack?
Mostly small software companies that publish a status page. About 88% of the 3,352 domains in our October 2026 crawl run a Better Stack-hosted status page on their own subdomain, such as Hugging Face, Trezor, HoneyBook, SEON and the Eclipse Foundation. A smaller group, including Swanson Vitamins and Gardner White, loads Better Stack's JavaScript tag on its main website instead.
How many customers does Better Stack have?
Our October 2026 crawl finds Better Stack on 3,352 domains, 2,156 of them matched to a company. That counts public status pages and website tags, not accounts: a team that only uses Better Stack for uptime checks or logs leaves nothing on its site. Better Stack's careers page cites 300,000+ developers. 75 domains have dropped it since 16 March 2026.
What is Better Stack's market share?
0.12% of APM & Error Tracking, 16th of the 58 tools we track there, on 3,352 domains. That category counts error-tracking scripts, and Sentry leads it with 72.56%. Better Stack mostly appears on status pages, so the share understates it. Against a status-page host it looks different: Atlassian Statuspage's profile counts 7,212 domains in October 2026.
What are the best alternatives to Better Stack?
For status pages, Atlassian Statuspage, whose profile counts 7,212 domains in October 2026, about twice Better Stack's 3,352. For uptime checks, Pingdom and UptimeRobot; we count Pingdom's real user monitoring on 8,449 domains but don't count UptimeRobot reliably. For error tracking, Sentry, Datadog and New Relic, though none of those three hosts status pages.
Which countries use Better Stack the most?
The United States, with 762 matched companies, then the United Kingdom (176), the Netherlands (92), Germany (89), France (86) and Canada (74). The ten European countries in the top 15 add up to 609, not far behind the US. Czechia, where Better Stack advertises roles in Prague, has 24. These counts cover the 2,156 domains we matched to a company.
What size companies use Better Stack?
Small ones. 65.44% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 27.93% have 11 to 50, so 93.37% have 50 staff or fewer. Only 3 have more than 1,000. The bigger names on our list, such as Namirial and Greytip, the company behind greytHR, run a status page for software their own customers log into every day.
How old are companies that use Better Stack?
Young. 53.82% of matched companies with a known founding year date from the 2020s and 37.62% from the 2010s. The median 2020s share across the 554 technology profiles we publish is 17.51%, so Better Stack's is about three times it. Only 8.57% were founded before 2010, and the oldest named users run Better Stack on their website, not on a status page.
What is the ideal customer profile for Better Stack?
The ideal Better Stack customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (65.44%), Location: US, then UK, Netherlands, Germany, Founded: 2020s (53.82%), Industry: Software, internet and IT services, What we detect: A status subdomain hosted on Better Stack — based on our analysis of 2,156 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What does Better Stack do?
Better Stack sells uptime monitoring, incident management and on-call, status pages, logs, tracing, infrastructure monitoring, real user monitoring and error tracking, according to its own product menu. The part we see most on the public web is the status page: about 88% of the Better Stack domains we count publish one on a status subdomain, showing uptime and incident history to their customers.
Who owns Better Stack?
Better Stack is a private company founded by Juraj Masar (CEO) and Veronika Kolejak (COO), according to its July 2022 Series A announcement, a $18.6M round led by Creandum. Its careers page lists $28.6M in total funding and 2021 as its founding year, with roles in Prague. Its May 2023 rebrand post said the company had not been acquired, merged or sold.
Is Better Stack free?
Yes, for small use. Better Stack's pricing page lists a free plan for personal projects with 10 monitors and heartbeats, one status page, Slack and e-mail alerts, 100,000 exceptions and 5,000 session replays a month, plus 3 GB of logs kept for three days.
