Companies Using Pingdom RUM

Our October 2026 crawl finds Pingdom's real user monitoring (RUM) snippet on 8,449 live domains. That's the part of Pingdom a website can show us. Pingdom is better known for uptime checks, and those run from Pingdom's own servers, so a monitored site carries no code for them and no crawler can count them. Read 8,449 as a floor: sites measuring their real visitors with Pingdom, not every site Pingdom watches.

Below is the list of companies that use Pingdom RUM, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes Novo Nordisk, WestJet, Knight Frank, Penguin Random House and Euroclear. Pingdom RUM ranks 12th of the 58 tools we track in APM & Error Tracking, with 0.31% of the category. Its base leans British and established: 695 matched companies in the United Kingdom against 1,833 in the United States, and only 5.86% founded in the 2020s.

Pingdom RUM Usage Statistics

Pingdom RUM reads 6,260 domains in June 2026, 7,696 in July, 8,071 in August and 8,598 in September, then 8,449 in October. Don't read the climb as a wave of installs. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time, so the June to July step of 1,436 domains reflects changes on our side as much as new customers. Since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, 1,888 domains have dropped Pingdom RUM on at least one hostname, and 250 of those still run it on another.

List of Companies Using Pingdom RUM

Who uses Pingdom RUM? This list of companies using Pingdom RUM names 50 of the 4,411 matched companies. We loaded every company named on this page in a browser in October 2026 and saw the snippet fire. Many websites using Pingdom RUM at large firms are a single property: the Financial Times runs it on an events site, the Post Office on an insurance quote form, Wake Forest on an events calendar.

Expert Analysis: Pingdom RUM Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Elif Arslan
Elif ArslanCMO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

Pingdom gets about 2,500 US searches a month, by Ahrefs' estimate, and most of those people want the uptime monitor. I can't show you uptime customers. Pingdom's uptime and transaction checks run from its own servers, so the monitored site carries nothing for a crawler to find; SolarWinds' support page describes them as requests arriving from Pingdom's servers. What I can show is the other product, real user monitoring, which needs a JavaScript snippet on every page. Our October 2026 crawl finds that snippet on 8,449 live domains, 4,411 of them matched to a company. That's a floor for Pingdom, and a fair count for Pingdom RUM.

Domains, accounts and aliases

Pingdom puts an account ID in the RUM script address, so for part of the base I can count accounts as well as domains. On the 3,035 domains where we could read it, I found 1,739 accounts, about 1.75 domains each, and 1,334 of those accounts sit on a single domain. The multi-domain accounts are mostly one company's own aliases and country sites. QIAGEN's account covers 48 domains, such as qiagen.es and quantiferon.com, Ncontracts' covers 35 and Realty Executives' 21, including re4r.com, which redirects to the brokerage's main site. The oddest belongs to the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment. Seized piracy domains now redirect to its "website is no longer available" notice, which carries the snippet, so 120 domains in our crawl show that notice's title, 63 of them with an account ID we could read.

Sales signal: dedupe a Pingdom RUM list by account or redirect target before you count prospects. After that, most rows are one company running one site.

The growth line

The chart reads 6,260 domains in June, 7,696 in July, 8,071 in August, 8,598 in September and 8,449 in October. I wouldn't sell that as a 35% surge. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones coming in, and our detection signals have widened over the same months, so a good part of the June to July step of 1,436 is our coverage. Since 16 March 2026, 1,888 domains dropped the snippet on at least one hostname. 250 of them still run it on another, so the real loss is smaller than the raw figure.

"Pingdom is a household name for uptime, and that half is invisible from outside. The 8,449 sites we count are the ones that also chose to measure real visitors, which makes them the more engaged slice of Pingdom's base." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: treat Pingdom RUM as a stable pool of about 8,400 domains, not a growth story. Its value to a seller is that each row is a team already paying to watch page speed.

Who runs it

38.09% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 27.26% have 11 to 50. That's small, but less so than New Relic's profile (53.94% at the smallest band) or Datadog's (61.35%). Age points the same way. Only 5.86% were founded in the 2020s, and 11.04% before 1960. At the top end, 278 companies have more than 1,000 staff. Some run Pingdom RUM on their main site, like Novo Nordisk, WestJet, Euroclear and Penguin Random House. Others run it on one property: Lenovo's StoryHub news site, Check Point's support centre, Al Rajhi Bank's careers pages, the Post Office's home-insurance quote journey.

Sales signal: at a large account the Pingdom user is often the owner of one web property, such as a careers site, a support portal or a quote form. Find that team before you pitch the whole company.

A British lean

The United States has 1,833 matched companies and the United Kingdom 695, about one British company for every 2.6 American ones. New Relic's profile shows one for every 8.9 and Datadog's one for every 9.6. Australia (203) and Canada (195) follow, New Zealand adds 42, and together those five English-speaking markets hold 2,968 of the 4,411 matched companies. Sweden, where Pingdom launched in 2005, has 76. Industry is spread thin. Retail leads at 6.37% and Accounting is third at 4.39%, partly one web provider's work: 18 accounting firms share a single Pingdom account, and the five I opened were all small UK practices.

Sales signal: for UK agencies and hosting companies this is an unusually useful list, because relative to the US its UK share is more than three times what New Relic's and Datadog's profiles show. Website providers for accountants are worth checking for shared installs.

Next to the other RUM tools

Pingdom RUM rarely stands alone. 549 of its domains also run New Relic today, 246 run Datadog, 139 run Boomerang, 121 run Akamai mPulse and 29 run Dynatrace RUM. None of these pairs passes our switching tests. Of the 691 domains ever seen with both Pingdom and New Relic, 79.5% still run both, and for Datadog it's 246 of 384. These sites stack monitoring rather than swap it. I read that overlap as a renewal risk for Pingdom more than a win for anyone else.

"549 Pingdom RUM sites also run New Relic. When a team pays for two tools that time the same page loads, the smaller one has to justify itself at every renewal." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: for a RUM or APM vendor, domains running Pingdom RUM beside New Relic or Datadog are the consolidation pitch. For Pingdom's own team, those same overlap sites are the accounts to protect first.

The stack around it

Across the 8,427 domains in our clean live set, Google Tag Manager runs on 87.28% and Google Analytics on 81.42%. On Realty Executives' site the snippet wasn't in the page source but fired in a browser, the pattern of a tag-manager install. WordPress is on 38.73%, Elementor on 6.48% and Unbounce on 4.03%, so landing pages are part of the picture. Cloudflare fronts 55.2%. Consent tools show up often: OneTrust on 10.83%, Cookie Control on 8.34% and Cookiebot on 7.92%.

Sales signal: the typical Pingdom RUM site is a marketing site run through Google Tag Manager. Agencies that manage those containers can add or remove the snippet in minutes, which makes them the people to talk to.

What it costs

Pingdom's RUM pricing page (checked 12 October 2026) starts at $10 a month for 100,000 pageviews on annual billing, or $15 paid monthly. One million pageviews costs $75 or $98, and 10 million $400 or $520. Synthetic monitoring starts at $16.50 a month on annual billing for 10 uptime checks, one advanced check and 50 SMS alerts, per the main pricing page.

Sales signal: pageview tiers turn traffic growth into a pricing conversation. A site that doubles its traffic moves up a tier, and that's when alternatives get a look.

Key takeaways

1. 8,449 live domains run Pingdom RUM, a floor for Pingdom because uptime checks leave no trace.

2. About 1.75 domains per account where we can read the ID, and the big multi-domain accounts are aliases.

3. A British, established base: 695 UK companies to 1,833 US, and 5.86% founded in the 2020s.

4. It usually runs beside New Relic or Datadog, not instead of them.

What is Pingdom used for?

Pingdom monitors websites from two sides. Synthetic checks run from Pingdom's servers: uptime pings, page-speed tests and scripted transactions such as a login or checkout, with alerts when something fails. Real user monitoring adds a JavaScript snippet to your pages that reports load times from actual visitors' browsers. Only that second part is visible to us, on 8,449 live domains in October 2026.

Who owns Pingdom?

SolarWinds. Pingdom started in Sweden in 2005, and SolarWinds, based in Austin, Texas, bought it in June 2014, according to Wikipedia. The pingdom.com footer still carries a SolarWinds Worldwide copyright line. SolarWinds' own THWACK community site runs Pingdom RUM, which we confirmed in a browser in October 2026, so the owner uses the product it sells.

How much does Pingdom cost?

Pingdom's pricing pages, checked on 12 October 2026, list real user monitoring from $10 a month for 100,000 pageviews on annual billing, or $15 paid monthly. One million pageviews costs $75 or $98. Synthetic monitoring starts at $16.50 a month billed annually ($18 monthly) for 10 uptime checks, one advanced check and 50 SMS alerts. Above 10 million pageviews, Pingdom quotes a price.

Is Pingdom free?

No. The pricing page lists no free plan, and paid RUM starts at $10 a month on annual billing. New accounts get a free trial covering synthetics and RUM: 14 days on the pricing page and 30 days on the RUM product page when we checked on 12 October 2026. The Website Speed Test at tools.pingdom.com is free, but it's a one-off test, not monitoring.

What does real user monitoring do?

Real user monitoring measures your site from your visitors' browsers. A script on each page records how long the page took to load, split into network, frontend and backend time, along with the visitor's location, browser and platform, and sends it to the vendor. Pingdom's documentation says it doesn't save visitors' IP addresses. Synthetic checks, by contrast, test the site from the vendor's own servers.

What does Pingdom check?

Pingdom's synthetic side checks whether your site responds, how fast a page loads, and whether scripted journeys such as logins or checkouts complete, from servers in several countries. Its RUM side measures page loads for real visitors. Pingdom's support pages say unfamiliar Pingdom requests in your logs usually mean a colleague, host or agency set up monitoring on your site.

Do companies still use SolarWinds?

For Pingdom, yes. Our October 2026 crawl finds its RUM snippet on 8,449 live domains, up from 6,260 in June, though part of that rise comes from our side: the domains we crawl turn over monthly and our detection widens. Users include Novo Nordisk, WestJet and Euroclear. SolarWinds' on-premises products leave nothing on a public website, so we can't count them.

How can you tell if a website uses Pingdom?

Look in the page's network requests for rum-static.pingdom.net, which serves the RUM script, or rum-collector-2.pingdom.net, which receives its beacons. Older installs also define a _prum variable. Those are the signals behind our 8,449 count. Uptime monitoring leaves nothing on the page; it only shows up in the site's own server logs as requests from Pingdom's servers.
