Companies Using Affirm
Our crawl finds 9,523 live stores using Affirm, including GE Healthcare, Sony, Camping World, PacSun, YETI and SharkNinja. That makes Affirm the second-largest buy now, pay later provider we detect, on 8.17% of the BNPL market.
We matched 4,374 of those merchants to company records. What separates Affirm from the rest of the category is what its merchants sell: motor vehicles, luxury goods, furniture and sporting equipment all rank far higher here than under any rival. This is the big-ticket end of BNPL.
Below you'll find the country and industry breakdown, the platforms Affirm runs alongside, and the merchants it won and lost over the last 90 days.

Affirm Usage Statistics
Affirm entered our detection history in January 2015 on two domains and grew steadily through the late 2010s as US ecommerce adopted instalment checkout. Read the chart with one caveat: it splices our long-run detection history through July 2025 with our own live crawl from June 2026, so the step from 6,111 to 7,794 across the gap reflects a change in crawl coverage rather than adoption. Inside the live crawl, Affirm has gone from 7,794 in June 2026 to 9,523 in August 2026.

There are 9,523 companies and websites using Affirm, sign up to download the entire Affirm dataset.
Here are the most recognisable stores that accept Affirm in our current crawl, ranked by audience size. GE Healthcare, Sony, Camping World, PacSun, World Market, SharkNinja, YETI and Books A Million all carry it on live storefronts. The presence of GE Healthcare and Sony is a reminder that detection is per subdomain, and large groups often run instalment checkout on one regional or product-line store rather than everywhere.
Which Countries Use Affirm the Most?
Which countries use Affirm the most? The United States accounts for 3,805 enriched merchants (88.49%), the most concentrated geography of any BNPL provider we track. Canada adds 7.98% and the United Kingdom just 0.86%. Where Afterpay keeps a fifth of its base in Australia, Affirm is effectively a North American product, and 96% of its enriched merchants sit in the US or Canada.
Affirm Market Share Among Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL)
What is Affirm's market share? Affirm holds 8.17% of the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) market and ranks #2, well ahead of Sezzle on 7.45% but roughly one eighth the size of Afterpay on 68.33%. Ranking second in a category this concentrated means something different than usual, based on our monthly crawl of 50M+ domains and 40K+ tracked technologies at TechnologyChecker.io.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Affirm Customers by Company Size & Age
Is Affirm only for small businesses? Less so than its rivals. 58.07% of Affirm merchants employ 1 to 10 people, against 76.47% for Afterpay, and 28.93% employ 11 to 50. The 1,001 to 5,000 band holds 1.24%, more than three times Afterpay's share of the same band. Based on 4,374 enriched companies, Affirm reaches further up market than any other provider here.

Company Age (Founded Decade)
What Industries Use Affirm the Most?
Retail leads at 15.51%, but the rest of Affirm's mix is what sets it apart. Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry (6.74%), Motor Vehicle Manufacturing (5.5%), Furniture and Home Furnishings (3.64%), Sporting Goods (3.07%) and Computers and Electronics (1.89%) are all durable, high-value categories. Add Automotive at 1.78% and roughly one Affirm merchant in eight sells vehicles or vehicle-related goods.
Retail companies using Affirm form the largest block at 541 enriched merchants, but the recognisable names cluster in big-ticket categories: Camping World sells recreational vehicles, YETI and Sportsman's-style outdoor retail sell equipment, SharkNinja sells appliances and World Market sells furniture. Affirm's longer financing terms suit orders where a four-payment split over six weeks would not work.
Affirm Alternatives & Competitors
Second place in BNPL is a distant second. Affirm's 8.17% is comfortably ahead of Sezzle (7.45%), HeyLight (2.63%) and Scalapay (2.39%), but Afterpay's 68.33% is roughly eight times Affirm's footprint. The more useful comparison is qualitative: Affirm and Afterpay barely compete for the same merchant, because they serve different order values.
Affirm Customer Migration
Across churn our crawler has watched directly since March 2026, Affirm is net negative against Afterpay: it lost 86 merchants to Afterpay and won 52 back. Against Sezzle it lost 29 and gained 11. The one clear win is ResolvePay, which sent Affirm 40 merchants. Volumes are small on a five-month observation window, so treat these as direction rather than market-share movement.
Tech Stack of Affirm-Powered Websites
Based on 9,390 active domains in our current crawl, Shopify appears on 63.05% of Affirm storefronts, with Apple Pay (54.92%), Shop Pay (53.75%) and PayPal (52.51%) close behind. WooCommerce at 21.93% is notably higher than under Afterpay. Klaviyo on 31.00% is the signal worth noting: Affirm merchants run dedicated ecommerce marketing tooling at half again the rate Afterpay's do.

Expert Analysis: Affirm Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I spent two years researching the technographic data space before we built this crawler, and one thing that research kept surfacing is that category rankings mislead you when the category is concentrated. Affirm is a good example. It ranks second in buy now, pay later. It is also about one eighth the size of the leader. Both facts are true and only one of them is useful.
What second place actually means here
We detect Affirm on 9,523 live domains, which is 8.17% of the BNPL market we track. Afterpay sits at 68.33%. So the gap between first and second is far wider than the gap between second and fifth, where Sezzle (7.45%), HeyLight (2.63%) and Scalapay (2.39%) are packed together.
If you read that as Affirm losing, you would be reading it wrong. The two products do not chase the same merchant, and the industry data is where that becomes obvious.
The big-ticket signature
Retail leads Affirm's merchant mix at 15.51%, which is unremarkable. Everything after that is not. Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry at 6.74%. Motor Vehicle Manufacturing at 5.5%. Furniture and Home Furnishings Manufacturing at 3.64%. Sporting Goods at 3.07%. Computers and Electronics at 1.89%. Automotive at 1.78%.
Compare that with Afterpay, where the second tier is Restaurants (4.44%), Food and Beverage Services (4.04%) and Wellness and Fitness Services (3.41%). One provider's merchants sell dinner and gym memberships. The other's sell recreational vehicles and furniture. The named merchants confirm it: Camping World, YETI, SharkNinja, World Market, PacSun.
Affirm and Afterpay are not really competitors. One provider's merchants sell restaurant meals; the other's sell recreational vehicles.
That difference follows directly from the product. A six-week, four-payment split works on a $120 order. It does not work on a $6,000 caravan. Affirm's longer financed terms, with shopper APR that can run to 36%, exist for exactly the orders Afterpay's structure cannot carry.
Merchants are bigger, and the data proves itself
Affirm's size distribution runs upmarket of the category. 58.07% of its merchants employ 1 to 10 people against Afterpay's 76.47%, and 28.93% employ 11 to 50. The 1,001 to 5,000 band holds 1.24%, over three times Afterpay's 0.37%.
There is a nice internal check on this. Our LinkedIn enrichment rate for Affirm is 45.9%, the highest of the three major providers, against 42.8% for Afterpay and 32.4% for Sezzle. Enrichment rate is essentially a proxy for how established a business is, because tiny owner-operated shops often have no company profile to match. The size distribution and the match rate tell the same story independently, which is the kind of agreement that makes me trust a finding.
A one-country product
The geography is the most concentrated in the category. The United States is 88.49% of Affirm's enriched merchants and Canada is 7.98%. Nothing else reaches 1%. Afterpay, for contrast, holds 51.26% US, 20.07% Australia, 9.16% United Kingdom.
For anyone using this data to build a target list, that is the practical constraint. An Affirm-detection list is a North American list, full stop. If your addressable market includes ANZ or Europe, Affirm detections will not find it.
Where merchants go
Our crawler has watched Affirm's churn directly since 16 March 2026. In that window Affirm lost 86 merchants to Afterpay and won 52 back, and lost 29 to Sezzle while gaining 11. Its clearest win was ResolvePay, which sent 40 merchants across.
Net negative against both main rivals, then, though on small absolute numbers against a 9,523 base. My read is that the merchants moving from Affirm to Afterpay are ones whose average order value never justified financing, and who found a ~6% plus $0.30 fee hard to defend on a small basket. That is a positioning correction rather than a competitive loss.
Affirm's enrichment rate of 45.9% is the highest in the category, and it corroborates the size data: its merchants are established businesses, not hobby stores.
Stack and reading the chart
Shopify appears on 63.05% of Affirm storefronts and WooCommerce on 21.93%, a notably higher WooCommerce share than Afterpay's base shows. Klaviyo on 31.00% is worth attention: Affirm merchants run dedicated ecommerce marketing tooling at about half again the rate of Afterpay's merchants, which fits the picture of larger, more deliberate operations.
On the usage chart, treat July 2025 to June 2026 as a seam rather than a trend. Everything before it comes from our long-run detection history, everything after from our own live crawl, and the coverage differs. The like-for-like segment is June 2026 onward, where Affirm went from 7,794 to 9,523 domains. That is real growth, measured consistently, and it is the only part of the series I would quote.
What I would do with this data
An Affirm detection tells you three things at once that most technographic signals cannot. The merchant is North American, at roughly 96% probability across the US and Canada. The merchant sells something expensive enough to need financing, which rules out most of the impulse-purchase long tail. And the merchant is more likely than a typical BNPL user to be an established business, which the 45.9% enrichment rate and the 28.93% share in the 11 to 50 employee band both support.
That combination is worth more than the raw count of 9,523 suggests. A list of Afterpay merchants is eight times larger and considerably more diluted. If whatever you sell has a price floor, the smaller list will convert better.
The honest limitation is coverage. We enrich 4,374 of 9,523 Affirm domains, so every percentage in the sections above describes that matched subset rather than the full merchant base. The unmatched domains skew small, which means the genuine share of micro-merchants is probably a little above the 58.07% we can measure. I would rather say that plainly than present an enriched sample as though it were a census.
One last note on the category itself. BNPL detection is a checkout-widget signal, so it tells you what a store offers today, not what it has contracted for. A merchant can sign with a provider months before the script goes live, and can leave it in place after moving spend elsewhere. That lag is worth remembering whenever a switching number looks smaller than the market noise around it suggests.

What retailers work with Affirm?
Our crawl finds Affirm on 9,523 storefronts. Recognisable names include GE Healthcare, Sony, Camping World, PacSun, World Market, SharkNinja, YETI and Books A Million. The pattern is durable, higher-value goods rather than fast fashion. TechnologyChecker.io tracks the full merchant list and updates it as Affirm appears on or leaves each storefront.
What is the difference between Affirm and Afterpay?
Order value, mostly. Afterpay runs on 79,610 storefronts against Affirm's 9,523, but Affirm's merchants sell dearer goods: Motor Vehicle Manufacturing (5.5%) and Luxury Goods (6.74%) rank far higher in its industry mix. Affirm also offers longer financed terms, where Afterpay concentrates on a six-week, four-instalment split. The two rarely appear together on the same storefront.
What's the downside of using Affirm for a business?
Cost and reach. Merchant guides put Affirm's transaction fee near 6% plus $0.30, above typical card processing at 1% to 3%. Reach is the other limit: 88.49% of Affirm's enriched merchants are US-based, so a store selling into Australia or the UK gets far less coverage than it would from Afterpay.
Does Affirm work with Shopify?
Yes, and Shopify is its most common platform by a wide margin. Our co-occurrence data shows 63.05% of Affirm storefronts also run Shopify, with WooCommerce second at 21.93%. Shop Pay appears on 53.75% and Apple Pay on 54.92%, so most Affirm merchants present it as one financing option among several wallets at checkout.
Is there anything better than Affirm?
It depends on order value. For low-ticket fashion, beauty and wellness, Afterpay has far broader merchant coverage at 79,610 storefronts to Affirm's 9,523. For higher-value durable goods, Affirm's longer financing terms fit better, which its industry mix confirms: vehicles, furniture, appliances and outdoor equipment all over-index against the category. Sezzle sits between them on basket size but reaches far fewer stores.
What industries use Affirm the most?
Retail leads at 15.51%, then Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry at 6.74% and Motor Vehicle Manufacturing at 5.5%. Furniture and Home Furnishings (3.64%), Sporting Goods (3.07%) and Computers and Electronics (1.89%) follow. Together the vehicle and durable-goods categories give Affirm a merchant mix no other BNPL provider in our data matches.
Do merchants use Affirm alongside another BNPL provider?
Usually not. Only 4.39% of Affirm merchants also run Afterpay and 2.11% run Sezzle. Compare that with 54.92% who run Apple Pay alongside it. Card wallets stack at checkout; instalment providers behave closer to winner-take-one, so merchants generally commit to a single BNPL partner rather than offering several. Switches we record are therefore genuine replacements.
How much does Affirm cost a merchant?
Affirm charges the merchant rather than the shopper on its interest-free options. Published merchant guides put the rate near 6% of order value plus roughly $0.30 per transaction, and Affirm's own materials note pricing varies by business type and size. Longer financed terms can carry different economics, with shopper APR ranging up to 36%.
Is Affirm growing?
Yes, within our like-for-like measurement. Affirm went from 7,794 active domains in June 2026 to 9,523 by August 2026. The earlier part of the chart splices a different measurement system, so the jump between July 2025 and June 2026 reflects a change in our crawl coverage rather than genuine merchant adoption over that period.
Is Affirm bigger than Sezzle?
Yes, but narrowly. Affirm runs on 9,523 storefronts against Sezzle's 8,681, an 8.17% to 7.45% market-share split. The bigger difference is composition: Sezzle is 93.09% Shopify and concentrated in apparel, while Affirm spans more platforms and sells into vehicles, furniture and electronics. Affirm also enriches at 45.9% against Sezzle's 32.4%, which points to larger and more established merchants.
Why do merchants leave Affirm?
Our churn data shows 1,627 domains dropping Affirm since we began watching in March 2026. Of the moves we can attribute, 86 went to Afterpay and 29 to Sezzle, both of which carry lower merchant fees on small baskets. Cost is the likely driver for merchants whose average order value never justified longer financing.
Does Affirm work for high-value purchases?
That is its clearest strength in our data. Motor Vehicle Manufacturing accounts for 5.5% of Affirm merchants and Retail Luxury Goods and Jewelry 6.74%, both far above any rival. Named merchants like Camping World, YETI and World Market sell recreational vehicles, outdoor equipment and furniture, categories where six-week splits rarely work.
