Companies Using Cloudflare Stream

I expected Cloudflare Stream to have a small, technical customer base, and the clean count supports that. I didn't expect so much of the raw count to belong to two other companies. Our October 2026 crawl finds a Stream player on 7,109 live domains, and on 3,823 of them a platform, not the site owner, set Stream up. The remaining 3,286 domains, 2,046 of them matched to a company, are the base for everything below.

Half the raw count is two platforms

Trustoo, a Shopify reviews app now sold as CWILL Product Reviews, adds Stream's player script to stores for its video reviews: 2,739 stores carry Stream that way, and none of them showed a Stream account of its own. Podia, the course and community platform for creators, plays its users' videos through Stream; 1,082 Podia storefronts turn up, and one Stream account alone covers 166 of them. Neither group chose Stream. The platform did, and the store or creator is the platform's customer.

Sales signal: a raw Stream list is more than half Shopify stores and creator storefronts. If you sell to Stream users, the two platforms are single accounts worth knowing, and the 3,286 are the sites that set Stream up themselves or through an agency.

One reading, not a trend line

The usage chart has one point, 1 October 2026, because the earlier monthly totals include both platforms. I wouldn't read the raw line as adoption anyway. Those totals mix in Trustoo and Podia, the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are found, and our detection widens over time. We can measure exits, though: 2,221 domains dropped a Stream embed on at least one hostname since March 2026. 676 of them are Trustoo or Podia sites, and 212 still run Stream on another hostname.

Sales signal: there's no growth curve to pitch here yet. Treat the base as about 3,300 sites and wait for a few clean monthly readings before talking about momentum.

Who runs their own Stream account

Small and young companies, mostly. 54.25% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 staff, and 26.56% were founded in the 2020s, above Wistia's 20.5% and far above JW Player's 5.67%, per their profiles. The enterprise tail is real, though: 48 companies have more than 1,000 staff. NIST, Baillie Gifford, CoreWeave, Orkla and the Aston Martin Formula One team play Stream video on their main sites, and Home Bargains uses it on its recruitment site.

Many Stream player addresses carry the account's customer code, so you can see who shares an account. One account plays video on 121 mostly French small-business sites built on the same WordPress framework, 3.68% of the clean count. Another covers 56 corporate sites, mostly Nordic: GKN Automotive, GKN Powder Metallurgy, Scandic Hotels Group, Duni and OX2 are on it, along with a domain that forwards to the Stockholm agency Comprend. And 85 domains carry the same "Join The Real World" title, copies of one online course business's portal.

Sales signal: check the account code before you treat a big brand as a direct Cloudflare relationship. A shared code usually means an agency or a platform made the choice, and that's who you'd pitch.

Industry and geography

No vertical dominates. Software Development leads at 5.61%, then Construction (4.32%), and Hospitality and IT Services at 3.72% each; the top ten industries add up to 35.39%. Hotels and resorts form a visible cluster (Scandic, Fontainebleau, AKA, VidantaWorld), as do fitness brands (Barry's, Fitness Connection). The US leads with 705 matched companies, but the UK (256), Germany (144), France (129), the Netherlands (55) and Sweden (41) add up to 625.

Sales signal: part of the European list is reachable through agencies. The French and Nordic accounts above cover 177 domains between them, and each was one decision.

Switching: one company's week

No switching pair passes our tests. The biggest candidate was 20 domains that dropped Wistia and kept Stream, and ten of them belong to one company: OpenGov's product domains, such as cartegraph.com, which now forward to opengov.com and all dropped Wistia between 27 August and 3 September 2026. That's one company changing a template in one week. YouTube sits next to Stream rather than replacing it: of 666 domains ever seen with both, 392 still run both.

Sales signal: Stream wins arrive one technical team at a time, and one decision can move several sites, as OpenGov's did. A Wistia renewal at a software company with many product domains is the moment to watch.

The stack around it

Cloudflare's CDN fronts 77.57% of Stream domains, so most Stream sites are already Cloudflare customers, even though Stream plays on any domain. The front ends look developer-built: our checks put Tailwind CSS on 36.9%, Next.js on 16.0% and Vercel on 12.6%, and jsDelivr and cdnjs are each on about a fifth. WordPress is still the most common builder at 34.24%. Commerce is thin once the Trustoo stores are out: WooCommerce on 4.93%, Shopify on 3.41%, Stripe on 4.32%.

Sales signal: the likeliest new Stream site is a Cloudflare customer with a developer-built front end and video hosted somewhere else. Cloudflare Browser Insights, on 32.08% of Stream domains, marks sites whose owners already use Cloudflare's dashboard.

What Cloudflare says, and what we see

Stream's pricing fits that buyer. Storage costs $5 a month per 1,000 minutes and delivery $1 per 1,000 minutes watched, with encoding, uploads and bandwidth included, according to Cloudflare's Stream pricing page (checked 12 October 2026). There's no seat price, which suits a ten-person company with a handful of product videos. Cloudflare doesn't publish a Stream customer count, so our 3,286 can't be checked against one, and it's a floor: video inside apps or behind a login never reaches a public page we crawl.

Sales signal: per-minute pricing means Stream spend follows viewing. For anyone selling around video, the accounts that matter are the ones with heavy public viewing, such as the hotel, fitness and investment sites above.
