Companies Using Brightcove

Our October 2026 crawl finds a Brightcove video player on 4,716 live domains, and 1,987 of them match a company. The companies that use Brightcove in this list include Dell Technologies, Boeing, Workday and EY, and many put the player on one corporate property: TJX on its careers site, Cigna on its newsroom, SAS and Motorola Solutions on their own video portals. Brightcove sells paid enterprise video hosting, and it has belonged to Bending Spoons since February 2025.

One customer shapes the count, though. About 28% of the domains (1,331) are Cruise Planners travel agents' websites, built from one template that plays videos from the same Brightcove account as cruiseplanners.com. Chevrolet adds another 388, mostly dealer sites in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. Brightcove ranks 15th of 86 in Video Players & Hosting with a 0.11% share.

Brightcove Usage Statistics

Brightcove reads 3,439 domains in June 2026, 4,444 in July, 4,517 in August, 4,679 in September and 4,716 in October. Most of that is the 1,005-domain step from June to July, and we wouldn't read it as adoption. Counts are not a like-for-like series: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. Since July the line has added only 272 domains. Since we began tracking it in March 2026, 556 domains dropped Brightcove on at least one hostname, and 85 of them still run it on another.

List of Companies Using Brightcove

Who uses Brightcove? This list of companies using Brightcove shows 50 of the 1,987 matched companies, ranked by LinkedIn following. Most of the brands that use Brightcove put it on one property rather than the main site: TJX and National Grid on careers sites, Cigna on its newsroom, J.B. Hunt on investor relations, SAS, Motorola Solutions and Waters on video portals. Some websites using Brightcove are one company many times over. Baxter's account plays on at least 37 domains, EY's on 32 and Bose's on 22, mostly country sites.

Brightcove Market Share Among Video Players & Hosting

What is Brightcove's market share? 0.11% of Video Players & Hosting, 15th of the 86 technologies in that category on TechnologyChecker.io. Free and self-serve players set the size of this table: Vimeo alone has 744,870 domains (17.56%). The paid business platforms sit far lower. JW Player has 21,351 domains (0.5%), Wistia 38,933 and Bitmovin 39,008 (0.92% each), and Vidyard 2,586 (0.06%). A domain share also flattens scale, so a broadcaster's one busy site counts the same as one travel agent's page.

Expert Analysis: Brightcove Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Sophie Clarke
Sophie ClarkeProduct Marketing Manager, TechnologyChecker

I expected Brightcove's list to be a roll call of broadcasters and Fortune 500 marketing teams. Part of it is. A large slice is travel agents. Our October 2026 crawl counts a domain when its pages load a Brightcove player, embed one in an iframe or link to Brightcove's player host. That gives 4,716 live domains, 1,987 of them matched to a company. I loaded 59 of the domains at random in a browser: 32 played or requested a Brightcove player, 17 sat behind bot protection, 1 timed out and 9 loaded without a player on the home page.

What the count is made of

Brightcove puts the customer's account number in every player address, so we can count accounts as well as domains. The largest by far belongs to Cruise Planners, a travel franchise that says it has run since 1994. Its agents get near-identical websites, and they play the brand's videos from the same account. That template covers 1,331 domains, about 28% of the total; 16 of my 59 random pages were agent sites. The next group is Chevrolet, with 388 domains, mostly dealers in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina whose template connects to Brightcove's player host. After those two, accounts look like enterprise accounts: Baxter's plays on at least 37 domains, EY's on 32 and Bose's on 22, nearly all country or brand sites.

Sales signal: before you size this market, strip Cruise Planners and Chevrolet out of any Brightcove list. What's left, about 3,000 domains, is the enterprise footprint, and you should dedupe it by company, not by domain.

Growth trajectory

The chart reads 3,439 domains in June 2026, 4,444 in July, 4,517 in August, 4,679 in September and 4,716 in October. Most of the rise is the June to July step. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites leaving and new ones arriving, and our detection widens over time, so that step is our coverage, not a buying spree. From July to October the line added 272 domains. Since we started tracking Brightcove in March 2026, 556 domains dropped it on at least one hostname, and 85 of them still run it on another.

"Take out one travel franchise and one carmaker's dealers and Brightcove's footprint shrinks by more than a third. What's left looks like an enterprise video vendor's." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: this is a flat, mature base. Pitch replacement and add-on value to existing accounts; don't build a plan that assumes the installed base is growing fast.

Who the customers are

50.57% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, and that number is misleading on its own. 290 of those 930 small companies are Cruise Planners agencies and 130 are Chevrolet sites. Outside the two networks, 40.8% (511 of 1,253) are that small and 13.3% (167) have more than 1,000 staff. Across the whole list, 177 companies have more than 1,000 employees. Age tells the same story: 30.03% were founded before 1990, including Boeing, Motorola Solutions and Waters.

Large customers rarely run Brightcove everywhere. TJX and National Grid use it on careers sites, Cigna on its newsroom, J.B. Hunt on investor relations, DocuSign on its event centre, and SAS, Motorola Solutions and Waters on stand-alone video portals. Dell Technologies, Workday and EY are among those running it on the main site.

Sales signal: at an enterprise account the Brightcove owner is usually one team: talent acquisition, investor relations, communications or product marketing. Find that team from the detection URL before you call the CMO.

Industry and geography

Travel Arrangements leads the industry chart at 11.13%, and 187 of its 191 companies are Cruise Planners agencies. Retail is second at 11.01%, and 157 of its 189 are Chevrolet sites, mostly dealers. Without those, the leaders are Law Practice (89), Financial Services (81) and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing (58). The country chart bends the same way. The United States has 1,135 matched companies, but Brazil (176) and Mexico (103) only rank second and third because 165 and 78 of them are Chevrolet sites. Germany has 24 and Japan 22.

Sales signal: treat Brightcove as a North American, regulated-industry list. Pharma, financial services and law firms are where a company most likely chose Brightcove itself, and where compliance-heavy video features sell.

Overlap with other players

We don't publish a migration table for Brightcove, because no rival passes our switching tests. Overlap is the useful number. 76 domains run Vimeo and Brightcove together today, of 96 ever seen with both, and only 11 run JW Player with it. JW Player has 4.5 times Brightcove's domains, but its matched companies are smaller: 3.52% have more than 1,000 staff, against Brightcove's 9.62%.

"Brightcove and JW Player get compared in buyer's guides, yet only 11 domains run both. They mostly sell to different companies." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: when a Brightcove customer also runs Vimeo, find out which team owns the second player. For a competitor, that team is the opening; for Brightcove, it's a consolidation pitch.

The stack around it

Google Tag Manager runs on 71.27% of the 4,734 live domains in our stack analysis and Google Analytics on 67.03%. The Adobe suite is the surprise: Adobe Experience Platform Launch on 19.84%, Adobe Analytics on 18.82% and Adobe Experience Manager on 16.86%, about level with WordPress (17.96%). VideoJS shows on 66.6% of domains, which is expected, since Brightcove's player is built on Video.js.

Sales signal: AEM and Adobe Analytics partners will find a good share of this list already in their world. Video analytics that feed Adobe reports are an easier sell here than on JW Player's list.

Ownership and pricing

Bending Spoons completed its purchase of Brightcove on 4 February 2025, paying $4.45 a share, about $233 million. Brightcove doesn't publish prices: its Studio packages page lists Starter, Essential and Premium tiers with no figures.

Sales signal: new ownership plus quote-only pricing means renewal terms can change. Accounts approaching renewal are the ones to watch, for competitors and for agencies that run video operations.

Key takeaways

1. 4,716 live domains, 15th of 86 in the category with 0.11%.

2. About 28% of domains are one travel franchise's agent sites, and 388 are Chevrolet sites.

3. Outside those, 13.3% of matched companies have more than 1,000 staff.

4. Many deployments are departmental: careers, newsroom, investor and video-portal sites.

5. Adobe Experience Manager on 16.86% and Adobe Analytics on 18.82% of domains.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses Brightcove?

Enterprises that put video on a corporate site, plus two big networks that inflate the count. Our October 2026 crawl finds Brightcove on 4,716 live domains. About 28% are Cruise Planners travel agents' sites and 388 are Chevrolet sites, mostly Latin American dealers. Named Brightcove customers include Dell Technologies, Boeing, Workday, EY, Cigna's newsroom, TJX's careers site and DocuSign's event centre.

How many customers does Brightcove have?

We count 4,716 live domains with a Brightcove player in October 2026, and 1,987 of them match a company. Domains overstate accounts here. Cruise Planners' agent template alone covers 1,331 domains, and Baxter's account plays on at least 37. Since March 2026, 556 domains dropped Brightcove on at least one hostname, and 85 of those still run it on another one.

What is Brightcove's market share?

Brightcove holds 0.11% of Video Players & Hosting on TechnologyChecker.io, 15th of 86 technologies, on 4,716 domains. Free and self-serve players set the scale: Vimeo has 17.56% on 744,870 domains. What is players.brightcove.net, and is it safe?

It's the domain Brightcove serves its video players from.
