Companies Using Google Cloud

We detect Google Cloud on 102,535 active domains. Google Cloud is infrastructure rather than an app with a login screen, so what matters is which signal puts a domain on this list. We count a domain when Google Cloud serves its response directly, identified by one of three services that name themselves in the reply: Google Frontend (56,284 domains), which fronts App Engine, Cloud Run and Google's HTTP load balancers, Cloud Trace (53,115) and Cloud Storage (27,334).

All three are response headers on the page itself, so none of them can be triggered by a file belonging to somebody else. That makes this a stricter list than the one on our AWS profile, where roughly a third of detections rest on a clause that a third party can fire. It also makes it a smaller one, and the number should be read as a floor rather than a total.

We deliberately leave out one broader signal. The Via: 1.1 google header appears on roughly 1.4 million domains, but when we read them, 75.3% turned out to be Wix sites. Wix runs its platform on Google Cloud, so that header identifies Wix's account rather than the site owner's. Counting it would have inflated this page by more than ten times and named the wrong customer on almost every row.

Google Cloud Usage Statistics

Our series runs from 72,974 active domains in June 2026 to 102,535 in August 2026. That rise is our coverage widening rather than Google Cloud growing 40% in a quarter. Both active and total domains climb together across the three months, which is what expanding measurement looks like, not adoption. Read the August number and ignore the slope.

We publish only the months we have actually observed for this profile. Where we cannot stand behind a longer series we would rather show three honest points than a decade of implied history.

List of Companies Using Google Cloud

TechnologyChecker.io draws the list below only from domains where we re-confirmed a live Google Cloud response header at the exact hostname where we detected it. We tested the 72 largest by headcount and 63 confirmed. The nine that did not are not evidence against Google Cloud: most sit behind a CDN that replaces the origin's headers, so they are unreadable rather than negative.

There are 102,535 companies and domains where we detect Google Cloud, sign up to download the entire Google Cloud dataset.

Here are some of the most recognisable companies using Google Cloud and brands using Google Cloud in 2026, each re-confirmed by a live Google Cloud header on their own hostname:

  • United States Postal Service – Google Cloud serving the postal service's public domain
  • LVMH – Google Cloud headers on the luxury group's corporate site
  • GSK – Google Cloud on the pharmaceutical group's web estate
  • Mayo Clinic – Google Cloud serving the medical group's domain
  • Mondelez International – Google Cloud headers on the food group's corporate site
  • TSMC – Google Cloud on the semiconductor manufacturer's domain
  • Magazine Luiza – Google Cloud serving one of Brazil's largest retailers

Retail, consumer goods and healthcare are better represented in the enterprise rows here than in the profile as a whole, which is consistent with where Google Cloud has publicly concentrated its industry sales effort.

Which Countries Use Google Cloud the Most?

The United States accounts for 48.59% of enriched Google Cloud domains, the highest US concentration of the three large clouds: AWS sits at 41.76% and Azure at 29.99%. Part of that is a single large American cluster described in the industry section below. The United Kingdom (5.65%) and Brazil (5.64%) are effectively tied for second, and Japan at 3.08% ranks higher here than on either of the other two cloud profiles.

Share of the 55,613 Google Cloud domains we matched to a company record — 54.2% of the 102,535 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.

Google Cloud Market Share Among PaaS

TechnologyChecker.io does not rank Google Cloud in the PaaS table on this site, and the reason is worth stating plainly: this profile is a roll-up of three separately measured services rather than a single detection, so dropping it into the category table would change the denominator every other page in that category is measured against.

For scale, 102,535 domains would place Google Cloud around seventh in that table on roughly 4.2%, behind AWS, Vercel, WordPress.com, Azure, Firebase and Netlify. Treat that as an illustration and not as a market share. Our three cloud profiles are measured on rules of different strictness, and Google Cloud is on the strictest of them.

Google Cloud Customers by Company Size & Age

90.55% of enriched Google Cloud domains belong to companies under 50 staff and 1.13% to companies above 1,000. We tested whether that was an artifact of the large small-business cluster on this list by recomputing it with that cohort removed, and it barely moved: 67.82% under ten staff becomes 66.80%. The skew is real, not a by-product of one customer's estate.

What Industries Use Google Cloud the Most?

Read the Insurance row carefully. It is one customer, not 7,752. Insurance leads the table at 15.48%, more than double the next industry, and when we read the domains they are overwhelmingly individual State Farm agent websites, each a separate domain with its own company record. 96.7% of them are served from Google Cloud Storage on the same deployment.

Remove that cohort and Insurance leaves the top ten altogether. The ranking becomes Software Development 7.49%, Technology and Internet 6.46%, IT Services 6.10%, Real Estate 4.49%. That second list is the better description of who builds on Google Cloud.

Insurance7,752 (15.48%)
Software Development3,411 (6.81%)
Technology, Information and Internet2,785 (5.56%)
IT Services and IT Consulting2,592 (5.18%)
Business Consulting and Services1,808 (3.61%)
Real Estate1,776 (3.55%)

This is the clearest example on the site of why a domain count is not an account count. One insurer's agent network contributes roughly 7,500 domains here, about 7% of the whole profile, and behind them sits a single commercial relationship. We publish the number as measured and tell you where the concentration is rather than quietly removing it, because the domains are real and the detection is correct. What would be wrong is reading the row as 7,752 insurance companies choosing Google Cloud.

Google Cloud Alternatives & Competitors

The comparison to keep in mind is that these five counts are not built to the same standard. Google Cloud is measured only where its own services identify themselves in the response. AWS includes nameserver delegation and an inline-script clause, which is why its number is roughly nine times larger here than the gap in published cloud revenue would suggest. Azure sits between the two.

Firebase in this table is also a Google product, so treat it as a stablemate rather than a rival.

Google Cloud Customer Migration

The largest inbound corridor is not a competitive win. 574 domains dropped Firebase and now run Google Cloud, against 235 going the other way, but Firebase is Google's own platform, so that traffic is customers moving up one vendor's own ladder.

The genuinely competitive rows are more mixed. Against AWS Google Cloud is modestly ahead, 334 in against 261 out. Against Vercel it is clearly behind, 187 in against 471 out, which fits what we see on the Vercel profile, where that platform is net positive against every competitor we measured. Our churn window is short, so read these as observed movements rather than a lifetime ledger.

Tech Stack of Google Cloud-Powered Websites

Google Cloud domains are unusually deep in the rest of Google's estate: Google Tag Manager on 55.44%, Google Fonts on 51.49%, Google Analytics on 49% and Google Workspace on 24.91%. That last one is the most useful for sales, because it marks an account with a commercial Google relationship beyond the infrastructure itself.

Two rows deserve a second look. Google Cloud CDN appears on 47.96%, which is the same Via header we excluded from the headline count: inside this already-confirmed population it is corroboration, whereas on its own it is not. And Cloudflare sits in front of 31.16% of these domains, which is the single best explanation for why this count is a floor. Where Cloudflare terminates the request it replaces the headers we read, and the site becomes invisible to us.

Expert Analysis: Google Cloud Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

David Thomson
David ThomsonCTO, TechnologyChecker

This page was rebuilt in August 2026. The version before it reported 1,493,671 domains and no market share at all, and both of those were symptoms of the same problem: it was measuring something we could no longer stand behind. What follows is what the number means now, and the two places where it will mislead you if you read it quickly.

Why Google Cloud is measured through its services

A cloud platform is only visible to a crawler like TechnologyChecker.io's from the outside when something it runs announces itself. For Google Cloud three things do. Server: Google Frontend appears when App Engine, Cloud Run or a Google load balancer terminates the request. x-cloud-trace-context comes back from the same family of services. x-goog-storage-class means the object was served out of Cloud Storage. This profile counts a domain if any of the three is present, which is 102,535 domains, and all three are headers on the site's own response.

That property is the whole point. On the AWS profile we established that about a third of detections come from a clause that fires on the text of any inline script, including scripts a third party injected, so a third of that list is not an AWS account holder. Nothing here can do that.

The signal we threw away, and why

There is a fourth candidate. Via: 1.1 google is returned by roughly 1.4 million domains, and including it would have made this the second-largest profile on the site. We read the domains instead of counting them, and 75.3% of them are Wix sites, with the builders as a group accounting for 75.7%.

Wix runs its platform on Google Cloud. That is true, and it is exactly why the header is useless here: it identifies Wix's account, not the account of the dentist or accountant whose site happens to sit on it.

What convinced me was not the ratio but the contrast. The three headers we kept needed no cleanup at all: only 3.4% of that population sits on a website builder, before any filtering. A rule you have to scrub to make sensible is usually the wrong rule, and a clean one looks clean before you touch it.

The Insurance row is one customer

Insurance is the top industry on this profile at 15.48%, more than double the next entry, and that is not a finding about the insurance sector. Reading the domains shows individual State Farm agent sites, thousands of them, each on its own domain with its own company record, and 96.7% of them are served from Cloud Storage. Six that I checked by hand all returned Server: UploadServer and all carried a State Farm page title.

Take that cohort out and Insurance leaves the top ten entirely; Software Development leads at 7.49%. I have left the published table as measured, because the domains are real and the detection is right, and put the correction here and in the section note rather than quietly deleting 7,500 rows.

The useful discipline is to test what a cluster like that actually moves. It wrecks the industry table. It does almost nothing to the size table: 67.82% of companies under ten staff becomes 66.80% with the cohort removed. So the small-business skew on this page is a real property of Google Cloud's long tail, not an artifact, and I am happy to publish it as a finding.

Why the number is a floor, with a measurement to prove it

Cloudflare sits in front of 31.16% of the domains we did detect. Where a CDN terminates the request it writes its own response headers, and the origin's disappear. Those 31% are visible to us only because something else on the page gave Google Cloud away. Every domain where Cloudflare hides the origin completely is missing from this count, and there is no correction factor for that which I would trust.

The same effect shows in the company list. We re-checked the 72 largest enriched domains and 63 confirmed. Most of the nine that did not are behind a CDN, so they are unreadable rather than negative, and I would rather show a shorter list where every row was verified this week.

What this page cannot tell you

It cannot tell you Google Cloud's market share, and no TechnologyChecker.io profile can for this vendor, and this is the honest reason: a website is a poor window onto a cloud business. BigQuery, Vertex AI, GKE and the data platform that Google actually sells against AWS and Azure leave no trace on a public web page at all. This profile sees the part of Google Cloud that serves HTTP to the open internet, which is a real and useful population for prospecting and a bad proxy for revenue.

Read 102,535 as a floor on domains that Google Cloud serves directly and that are not hidden behind a CDN. It is not a count of Google Cloud accounts, and one account can sit behind thousands of these domains.

Sales Signals

  • Google Workspace on 24.91% is the most actionable row on the page. It marks an existing commercial relationship with Google, which is a warmer starting point than infrastructure alone.
  • Firebase alongside Google Cloud (12.61%) usually means a team that started on the managed backend and has grown past it. The 574 domains that moved off Firebase onto Google Cloud are the same motion.
  • Cloudflare in front (31.16%) means whoever you are talking to has already split their edge from their origin, so an edge pitch and a compute pitch go to different people.
  • Brazil at 5.64% and Japan at 3.08% both over-index against our other two cloud profiles. Territory plans built on AWS data will under-resource them.
  • An agent or franchise network in this data is one contract behind many domains. Qualify the parent before treating the rows as separate accounts.
  • A Vercel detection on a Google Cloud domain (1.66%) marks a split stack, frontend on one platform and backend on another, and Vercel is currently taking more of these domains than it loses.

Everything above comes from the TechnologyChecker.io August 2026 crawl. The header checks, the Wix sample and the State Farm spot-checks were all run against live sites in the same week this page was published.

  • Google Cloud market share

Google Cloud revenue hit $24.8B in Q2 2026, up 82%. But only 19% of enterprises run significant workloads on it. Full market share and competition data.

  • AWS statistics

AWS grew 37% in Q2 2026. Its share is 28% of cloud spend, 37.7% of IaaS and 55.3% of hyperscaler traffic in Q3 2026, down from 60.8% a year earlier.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses Google Cloud?

We detect Google Cloud on 102,535 domains, including United States Postal Service, LVMH, GlaxoSmithKline. A detection means the technology is present on that domain, which for large organisations is often a single storefront or subdomain rather than a company-wide deployment. Among domains we matched to a company with a resolved industry, the most common is Insurance (15.48%).

How many customers does Google Cloud have?

We detect 102,535 domains running Google Cloud across our monthly crawl of live business domains. Company data could be matched for 55,613 of them (54.2%), and every company-size, industry and country breakdown on this page describes that matched subset rather than the full detected base. A further 9,860 domains carried a Google Cloud detection previously and no longer do.

What is Google Cloud's market share?

We do not publish a market-share figure for Google Cloud in the PaaS category, because we could not compute a denominator we trust for it. We detect it on 102,535 domains; treat that as an absolute count rather than a position in the category.

What are the best alternatives to Google Cloud?

The top alternatives to Google Cloud include Amazon Web Services (39.98% market share), Vercel (16.64% market share), WordPress.com (8.24% market share), Microsoft Azure (7.5% market share) — measured as a share of the domains we detect running a platform in this category.

Which countries use Google Cloud the most?

The United States leads with 48.59% of enriched domains, the highest US concentration among the three large clouds, though part of that reflects one large American customer cluster. The United Kingdom at 5.65% and Brazil at 5.64% are effectively tied for second, and Japan at 3.08% ranks higher here than on our AWS or Azure profiles.

What size companies use Google Cloud?

The most common company size is 1-10 employees, representing 67.82% of the Google Cloud domains we could match to a company record and size — a subset of 55,613 matched companies, not of all 102,535 detected domains. This is followed by 11-50 employees (22.73%) and 51-200 employees (5.75%).

How old are companies that use Google Cloud?

Among the Google Cloud domains we could match to a company with a known founding date, the largest group was founded in the 2010s (39.24%), followed by the 2020s (38.56%). That matched subset is drawn from 55,613 companies and is not representative of all 102,535 detected domains. This suggests Google Cloud is most popular among relatively young companies.

What is the ideal customer profile for Google Cloud?

The ideal Google Cloud customer is: Company Size: Under 50 employees, Location: US, UK, Brazil or Germany, Founded: 2010 or later, Industry: Software, IT services, retail, Signal: Google Workspace already in use — based on our analysis of 55,613 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.

What does it mean when a website is detected as using Google Cloud?

It means Google Cloud served that page's response and identified itself in one of three ways: a Google Frontend server header, a Cloud Trace header, or a Cloud Storage header. All three are returned by the site's own response rather than by an embedded third-party file, so each one indicates a direct Google Cloud relationship.

How many websites use Google Cloud?

We detect Google Cloud on 102,535 active domains as of August 2026. Treat that as a floor rather than a total. Cloudflare sits in front of 31.16% of the domains we did find, and where a CDN fully terminates the request the origin's headers are replaced, which hides the platform behind it from us entirely.

Why is Google Cloud's number smaller than AWS on this site?

Because the two are measured to different standards. Around a third of AWS detections come from a clause that can fire on a third party's inline script, while every Google Cloud detection here comes from a header on the site's own response. The gap between 936,363 and 102,535 reflects rule strictness as much as platform size.

Why is Insurance the top industry for Google Cloud?

It is not really an insurance finding. Insurance shows 15.48%, but reading the domains reveals thousands of individual State Farm agent websites, 96.7% of them served from one Cloud Storage deployment. That is a single customer relationship spread across many domains. Exclude it and Software Development leads at 7.49% instead.

Can I get a list of companies using Google Cloud?

Yes. This page names 50 companies, each re-checked against a live Google Cloud header at the exact hostname where we detected it. The wider TechnologyChecker.io dataset covers 102,535 domains, of which 55,613 are matched to a company record and can be filtered by size, country, industry and co-installed technology.

Does this page show Google Cloud's market share?

No, and deliberately so. This profile is a roll-up of three separately measured services rather than one detection, so adding it to the PaaS table would change the denominator every other page in that category uses. For scale it would sit around seventh on roughly 4.2%, but that is an illustration rather than a share.

What else do Google Cloud sites run?

Mostly more Google. Google Tag Manager appears on 55.44% of these domains, Google Fonts on 51.49%, Google Analytics on 49% and Google Workspace on 24.91%. Firebase appears on 12.61%. Outside Google, Cloudflare is the most common companion at 31.16%, usually sitting in front of the Google Cloud origin.

Is Firebase the same thing as Google Cloud?

Firebase is Google's own managed application platform and we detect it separately, so it appears both as a competitor row and as a co-installed technology here. Because Google owns both, movement between them is not competitive churn. The 574 domains that left Firebase for Google Cloud are customers moving up one vendor's product ladder.

Are companies moving to Google Cloud or away from it?

It depends which rival you look at. Against AWS, Google Cloud is modestly ahead at 334 domains gained versus 261 lost. Against Vercel it is clearly behind, gaining 187 while losing 471. The largest inbound corridor, 574 from Firebase, is internal consolidation rather than a win taken from a competitor.

Why might a company using Google Cloud not appear in this list?

The most common reason is a CDN in front of the origin, which replaces the headers we rely on. The second is product mix: BigQuery, Vertex AI, GKE and most data and machine learning workloads leave no trace on a public web page, so a heavy Google Cloud customer can be completely invisible to a web crawl.

Why does this page exclude the Via header Google returns?

Because it names the wrong customer. The Via header appears on around 1.4 million domains, but 75.3% of those are Wix sites. Wix runs its own platform on Google Cloud, so the header identifies Wix's account rather than the site owner's. Including it would have inflated this profile more than tenfold.

How often is this Google Cloud data updated?

TechnologyChecker.io re-crawls its domain corpus monthly and this profile reflects the August 2026 sweep. The verified company list, the Wix sample behind the excluded header and the State Farm spot-checks were all run against live sites in the week the page was published, so those confirmations are current.

Is Google Cloud used more by large enterprises or small companies?

By count, overwhelmingly small companies: 90.55% of enriched domains belong to organisations under 50 staff and 1.13% to those above 1,000. TechnologyChecker.io checked whether the large agent-site cluster caused that skew and it did not, since removing the cohort moves the under-ten share only from 67.82% to 66.80%, so the long tail is genuine.
