Companies Using Canny

Our October 2026 crawl finds Canny on 1,246 live domains, after we set aside 2,600 where Canny arrives inside another company's software. What's left is mostly software companies sending users to a feedback board: DigitalOcean runs one at ideas.digitalocean.com, Descript at feedback.descript.com, and Mentimeter and Neo4j link to theirs from their main sites. Below is the list of companies that use Canny, with size, country, industry and stack.

The cut is two-thirds of the raw count. Of 3,848 raw domains, 2,072 were ClickFunnels pages that link ClickFunnels' own board, and 528 were apps and hosted pages built on other vendors' software, led by 315 agency CRMs on HighLevel, whose app carries HighLevel's own Canny board. On the cleaned count Canny ranks 15th of 64 tools in Surveys & Feedback with 0.56%, in a category led by form and survey software.

Canny Usage Statistics

The chart has one point: 1,246 live domains in October 2026, counted without the ClickFunnels pages and platform apps described at the bottom of this page. Our category table still lists Canny at 6,325, a raw count. Most of the gap to today's raw 3,848 is one event: in our crawl of 2 to 4 October 2026, 2,503 HighLevel white-label apps stopped showing Canny and dropped out. Read any month as a level, not a trend: the domains we crawl turn over monthly, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection signals change too.

List of Companies Using Canny

Who uses Canny? This list of companies that use Canny names 50 of the 793 matched companies, each running Canny on its own account. We took out one row whose company name didn't match its domain and one that only had Canny inside Sesame HR's jobs page. The rest show three ways to deploy it: 12 serve a Canny-hosted board on their own subdomain, 12 load the widget in their app, and 12 link to a board on canny.io from a website or help centre. The other 14 showed only the security header, or didn't load when we checked.

Canny Customers by Company Size & Age

What size companies use Canny? Mostly small ones. 54.83% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 29.52% have 11 to 50, so more than eight in ten have 50 staff or fewer. Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group was founded in the 2010s (50.6%), and the 2020s add 40.31%, so about nine in ten matched companies were founded in 2010 or later. Only 6.17% date from the 2000s. The old names stand out: the American Bar Association, founded in 1878, runs Canny in its online learning centre, and Life Fitness (1977) in its gym-equipment app.

What Industries Use Canny the Most?

Software Development leads at 32.77%, then Technology, Information and Internet (14.45%), IT Services and IT Consulting (5.55%) and Financial Services (4.65%), based on our enriched company data. Outside tech, associations and manufacturers using Canny include the American Bar Association and Inductive Automation, which hosts its ideas board at ideas.inductiveautomation.com.

Canny Alternatives & Competitors

None of the four rows is a like-for-like rival. Typeform and Tally are form builders and Qualtrics sells enterprise survey research; they share the category, not the job. Userback, a visual feedback widget, is the closest. Overlap is small: 19 Canny domains run Tally today, 2 run Typeform and 1 runs Userback, and none of those pairs passes our switching tests. Canny's direct competitors sit lower in the table: UserVoice (573 domains), Featurebase (366) and Sleekplan (142).

How We Counted Canny Sites

A domain counts here if a page on it loads Canny's script from canny.io, sets up Canny's JavaScript object, links to a board on a canny.io subdomain, or sends a Content-Security-Policy header that allows canny.io. Our crawl found 3,848 live domains that pass. We removed 2 for-sale or gambling pages, then two groups where the Canny on the page belongs to another company.

The first is 2,072 ClickFunnels domains: domains connected to ClickFunnels that now show, or redirect to, ClickFunnels' own home page, which links ClickFunnels' changelog board on canny.io. In a sample of 24 of them, 16 of the 18 that answered redirected to clickfunnels.com and carried that link. The second is 528 domains where another vendor's software brings Canny along, found when we fetched every remaining domain in October 2026 and matched on the registrable domain: 315 white-label CRMs on HighLevel, whose app code sets up HighLevel's own Canny board; 64 eStage community sites; 55 Stacker client portals; 27 resold fax apps (the two we opened share one Canny app ID); 18 domains that redirect to Zeffy and 12 to ArtistHub; 13 Ensinio course sites; 10 white-label lead portals; 8 InvestNext investor portals; and 6 Spectora home-inspection domains.

That leaves 1,246, the figure every chart on this page uses. Of those, 461 link to their own board, 262 load the widget, 157 serve a Canny-hosted board on their own subdomain and 81 show only the security header; the rest need JavaScript to show anything, or didn't load when we checked. Two numbers on this page use the raw basis instead. Our category table still lists Canny at 6,325 domains. And the 2,896 domains that have dropped Canny since March 2026 include 2,538 HighLevel apps, 2,503 of which stopped showing Canny in our crawl of 2 to 4 October 2026, and about 100 ClickFunnels domains, which leaves 273 other exits.

Expert Analysis: Canny Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Elif Arslan
Elif ArslanCMO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

I run marketing at TechnologyChecker, and Canny is a tool our own buyers know: it's where a lot of software companies keep their public feature-request boards. Our October 2026 crawl puts it on 1,246 live domains, 793 of them matched to a company, 15th of 64 in Surveys & Feedback with 0.56%. Getting to that number meant throwing out two-thirds of the raw count, and the reasons are worth knowing before you buy a Canny list from anyone.

What we took out

ClickFunnels points unused custom domains at its own home page, and that page links ClickFunnels' Canny changelog. So 2,072 of the 3,848 raw domains were ClickFunnels talking about itself. Opening the pages found a second group: 528 domains carried Canny inside software somebody else runs. 315 were white-label HighLevel CRMs, 64 eStage communities, 55 Stacker portals and 27 resold fax apps; 30 redirected to Zeffy or ArtistHub, and a few smaller platforms made up the rest. On a HighLevel app the code sets up HighLevel's own board at ideas.gohighlevel.com. The agency behind app.agencyname.com never picked Canny. We removed all 2,600.

"Two-thirds of the raw Canny count was other software companies' pages. HighLevel alone had 315 live domains, and each of those apps points at HighLevel's own board." - Elif Arslan, CMO at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: if you source a Canny list elsewhere, check it for HighLevel, Stacker, eStage and ClickFunnels domains before you size anything. The 1,246 on this page are companies that chose Canny themselves.

Three ways to put it on a site

A raw-HTML pass over the 1,246 shows how teams deploy it. 461 domains link to their own board on canny.io, usually from a footer, help centre or docs: Mentimeter, Neo4j and Expo's documentation do this. 157 serve a Canny-hosted board on their own subdomain, such as ideas.digitalocean.com or feedback.descript.com. 262 load the JavaScript widget, mostly inside the product; Triple Whale, Guru and DNSFilter load it on their app sign-in pages. Another 239 showed nothing until JavaScript ran, and in a browser sample of 16 of them, 9 turned out to be a board link or the widget. In a random sample of 20 domains, none linked to another company's board.

Sales signal: a hosted board on a feedback. or ideas. subdomain means feedback is a public channel with an owner, usually a product manager. A footer link is a lighter commitment. Pitch roadmap and research tools to the hosted group first.

Who the customers are

54.83% of matched companies have 1 to 10 staff and 29.52% have 11 to 50. Age is the clearer signal: 50.6% were founded in the 2010s and 40.31% in the 2020s. Software Development is 32.77% of the industry chart and Technology, Information and Internet another 14.45%. The bigger names are mostly software firms with public boards, DigitalOcean, Descript, Sendcloud and Vendasta among them. Three exceptions stand out: the American Bar Association runs Canny in its online learning centre, Life Fitness in its Facility Connect app, and Inductive Automation hosts an ideas board for its industrial software users.

Sales signal: the typical buyer is a founder or product lead at a software company with fewer than 50 people that has been selling for a few years. They already ask customers what to build, so they're open to tools that help decide it.

Where they are

The United States has 381 matched companies, the United Kingdom 43, India and the Netherlands 36 each, Canada 33 and Australia 25. Continental Europe adds up to more than the UK: the Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Sweden hold 97 between them. Mentimeter in Stockholm, Sendcloud in Eindhoven and Kittl in Berlin run Canny, as do Sleekflow in Singapore and Jisr in Riyadh.

Sales signal: the European and Asian companies on this list are mostly software firms. Localisation, regional data hosting and translated changelogs are the natural pitches there.

Few real exits

Since we began tracking it in March 2026, 2,896 domains have dropped Canny on at least one hostname, but that count is on the raw basis and mostly isn't churn. 2,538 of those domains are HighLevel apps, and 2,503 of them fell out of our count in a single pass on 2 to 4 October. About 100 more are ClickFunnels domains. That leaves 273 other exits, 254 of which no longer run Canny on any hostname. Overlap with the rivals in Canny's table is small: 19 domains run Tally today, 2 run Typeform and 1 runs Userback, and none of those pairs passes our switching tests.

"Strip out HighLevel and ClickFunnels and Canny loses very few sites. 273 domains in seven months, on a base of 1,246. People aren't leaving it in a hurry." - Elif Arslan, CMO at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: a competitor selling against Canny has no visible switching wave to ride. The opening is price: tracked-user billing rises as a board gets busier, and that's when teams compare.

The stack around it

Next.js runs on 41.57% of the 1,246 domains, React on 24.32% and Vue.js on 14.21%. PostHog leads product analytics at 18.14%, against 6.42% for Amplitude, 4.98% for Mixpanel and 2.09% for Pendo. Google Analytics is on 76.89%, Amazon Web Services on 26.81% and Vercel on 26.24%. Zendesk (7.22%) and Statuspage (7.14%) show support teams running a public board next to a help desk and a status page.

Sales signal: the typical Canny site is a JavaScript app on Vercel or AWS with PostHog or Google Analytics. Developer tools, product analytics and in-app messaging fit this list better than CMS plugins.

What it costs

Canny's pricing page (13 October 2026) lists a Free plan at $0 with 25 tracked users, Pro from $79 a month billed yearly with 100 or more tracked users, and a custom-priced Business plan from 5,000 tracked users with SSO and CRM integrations. A tracked user is anyone who posts, votes or comments, including people Autopilot finds in support and sales conversations. Teams can set a monthly spend limit. Its about page says the company has been bootstrapped and profitable since it launched in 2017.

Sales signal: pricing follows engagement, so a growing public board means a growing bill. Companies that recently connected Autopilot sources are the ones most likely to hit a tier boundary.

What is the Canny company?

Canny is a software company founded in 2017 by Sarah Hum and Andrew Rasmussen, who met as a designer and an engineer at Meta. It's fully remote and says it has been bootstrapped and profitable since 2017, according to its about page (13 October 2026). That page names Ahrefs, CircleCI, Hive, Axios, ClickUp and Typeform among its customers.

Pro starts at $79 a month billed yearly, from 100 tracked users, and adds project-management integrations and advanced privacy. Business is priced on request from 5,000 tracked users, with SSO and CRM integrations. A tracked user is anyone who posted, voted or commented.

Is Canny free?

Yes, up to a point. Canny's Free plan costs $0 and covers 25 tracked users, five managers, unlimited feedback and automatic feedback capture (pricing page, 13 October 2026). Past 25 tracked users you move to Pro, from $79 a month billed yearly. You can set a monthly spend limit, and Canny then stops tracking new users instead of upgrading you.

Its pricing page (13 October 2026) says Autopilot reads support and sales conversations from tools such as Intercom, Zendesk, Freshdesk, Gong and Zoom, captures the feature requests inside them, merges duplicates, summarises comments and can post replies asking customers for detail. People it captures this way count toward the plan's tracked users.

Is Canny good for customer feedback?

We don't rate products, but we can show who keeps it. Canny's users are mostly small software companies: 54.83% of matched companies have 1 to 10 staff and 90.91% were founded in 2010 or later. Larger ones, such as DigitalOcean, Descript and Sendcloud, run public boards on it. Since March 2026 only 273 domains outside the HighLevel and ClickFunnels groups have dropped it.

What is a Canny board, and how do websites add one?

A Canny board is a public page where users post and vote on requests. Sites add it three ways: a link to a board on canny.io, a Canny-hosted board on their own subdomain such as feedback.descript.com, or the JavaScript widget inside their app. Across the 1,246 domains we count, a raw-HTML pass found links on 461, the widget on 262 and hosted boards on 157.

Why don't HighLevel apps count as Canny sites?

Because the Canny on them is HighLevel's. Agencies run HighLevel's CRM under their own brand on their own domains, such as app.lightlyleads.com, and the app's code sets up HighLevel's own Canny board, ideas.gohighlevel.com. We removed the 315 such apps still in our raw count; another 2,503 had already dropped out of our crawl on 2 to 4 October 2026.
