Companies Using Bootstrap Icons

Nobody buys Bootstrap Icons, and that's what makes a list of the sites carrying it useful: it tells you how a site was built and roughly when. Our October 2026 crawl counts a domain when a page links a stylesheet whose address contains bootstrap-icons. That finds 237,984 live domains, 132,664 of them matched to a company, 5th of 25 in Font Services. Sites that paste the SVGs inline or bundle the font under another file name don't count, so I read the number as a floor. And as sites, not customers: the library is free under the MIT licence.

Who actually put it there

I wanted to know who made the choice, so we opened 160 random domains from the clean set on 13 October. 139 still linked the stylesheet in their HTML. 63 loaded it from jsDelivr, the route the project's README recommends, and 2 from cdnjs. 25 served it from an assets/vendor/bootstrap-icons folder. Eight of those still credit BootstrapMade, whose free templates use that layout, and 21 load GLightbox or AOS from the same folder. Twelve got it from a WordPress theme, five from Bookly's booking plugin and three from Quarto-generated sites, which keep it in a site_libs folder. Four were copies of one Thai casino template.

Nine of the jsDelivr pages pin version 1.4.1, and they look alike. All nine load Bootstrap's own CSS, eight load Font Awesome 5 and eight Owl Carousel. One still keeps the folder name logistica-1.0.0, the name of a free logistics template credited to HTML Codex on ThemeWagon.

Sales signal: the person who chose Bootstrap Icons was usually a template author or a theme developer, not the site owner. If you sell redesigns, hosting or a builder migration, the template path tells you the site was assembled from a download and probably hasn't had a developer since.

Growth, read carefully

The chart reads 168,158 domains in June, 206,389 in July, 215,879 in August, 234,063 in September and 237,984 in October. That's 69,826 more in four months, and I wouldn't sell it as a boom. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones coming in, and our detection signals widen over time. Both push the line up. The monthly step fell to 3,921 in October. 26,837 domains have dropped the library on at least one hostname since 16 March 2026, and about one in ten of them still load it on another.

Sales signal: size the pool at about 238,000 domains and don't forecast from the curve.

The version number is a dating tool

Half the installs tell you which release they run. Of 222,107 domains we re-checked in the last 45 days, 111,037 put a version in the stylesheet address. 40,670 of them pin 1.11.3, the most common single version by far. Only 8,757 pin a 1.13 release, even though the Bootstrap team shipped 1.13 in spring 2025 and the official site now shows 1.13.2. 16,986 domains (15.3%) pin 1.4 or older.

Sales signal: an old pinned version is a cheap proxy for a site that isn't maintained. Agencies and maintenance-plan sellers can start with the 16,986 domains on 1.4 or older and filter by company size.

Who the companies are

57.31% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 24.4% have 11 to 50. The companies are younger than I expected for a Bootstrap-era library: 61.18% were founded in 2010 or later (35.69% in the 2010s, 25.49% in the 2020s). The enterprise tail is real, with 2,653 companies above 1,000 staff (1,766 + 380 + 507 across the three largest bands), but it lives on side properties. 36 of the 50 named rows were detected on a subdomain, such as Coforge's investor site, IndiGo's developer portal and Hero MotoCorp's shop. The path tells you who decided. Textron and the University of Pittsburgh get it from Drupal's Bootstrap 5 theme, UCLA Health from a WordPress plugin, the University of Copenhagen from Bookly. Linde self-hosts the font file.

Sales signal: at a large account, the buyer is the team that owns that one property, often a web or digital team working from a CMS theme. Pitch them, not corporate IT.

India almost level with the US

The United States has 22,533 matched companies and India 20,072, about 89 for every 100. Brazil is third with 9,948, ahead of the United Kingdom (6,566) and Germany (5,370). Turkey (3,161), Indonesia (2,218) and the United Arab Emirates (1,766) make the top 15. Industries are flat. IT Services and IT Consulting leads at 7.44%, Software Development has 4.46%, and the top ten add up to only 32.5%.

Sales signal: for template marketplaces, hosting and web-agency tools, India and Brazil are pools as large as the American one, and sellers who only target English-speaking markets miss them.

Font Awesome on the same page

On these sites icon libraries accumulate. 97,677 domains run Bootstrap Icons and Font Awesome together today, 4,446 run it beside Adobe Fonts, 2,591 beside Ionicons and 423 beside Glyphicons. None of those pairs passes our switching tests. Glyphicons is the old Bootstrap 3 icon font; Bootstrap's version 4 migration guide says it was dropped. Font Awesome is still far larger, on 6,093,539 domains, about 25.6 times Bootstrap Icons.

Sales signal: a site loading two icon fonts carries weight it doesn't need. That's a concrete opener for performance or rebuild pitches.

The stack around it

Across the 235,681 clean live domains, Bootstrap runs on 85.57% and jQuery on 71.02%, with jQuery Migrate on 23.7%. jsDelivr appears on 56.71% and cdnjs on 31.07%. Swiper (32.72%), Masonry (21.53%), Owl Carousel (20.22%) and Animate.css (16.94%) are the template kit. WordPress is on 24.72% and Elementor on 9.27%. Google Analytics runs on 44.21%. I'd discount the Tailwind CSS figure (29.11%): the template sites we opened that carry that signal load Bootstrap and no Tailwind file.

Sales signal: jQuery Migrate on 23.7% marks sites running a compatibility shim for old jQuery code. Modernisation and security-patching offers fit that slice well.
