Companies Using MyFonts
Our October 2026 crawl finds MyFonts on 23,225 domains. Most of them load a tiny file from hello.myfonts.net, the pageview counter built into MyFonts' web-font kits, because its web-font licences are priced by monthly pageviews. Below is the list of companies that use MyFonts, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes AbbVie, Booking Holdings, ServiceNow, Weyerhaeuser, Land O'Lakes and Carnegie Mellon University.
MyFonts is Monotype's font store, and since 2023 the store Monotype has been moving its Linotype, FontShop and Fonts.com customers to. It ranks 9th in our Font Services category with 0.11%. Its sites are older and more German than those of the free font hosts: Germany has more than half as many matched companies as the United States, and 14.45% were founded before 1960. One caution on the count: some domains are in it only because their security policy allow-lists MyFonts, without loading anything from it.

MyFonts Usage Statistics
How many websites use MyFonts? Our chart reads 19,643 domains in June 2026, 21,894 in July, 22,357 in August, 23,134 in September and 23,225 in October. Most of that rise is our side. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection widens over time. From August to October the line adds only 868 domains. Since we began tracking MyFonts on 16 March 2026, 2,319 domains have dropped it from a hostname; in a re-check, 372 of 2,324 such domains still loaded it on another.

Which Countries Use MyFonts the Most?
Which countries use MyFonts the most? The United States, with 4,841 matched companies, then Germany (2,593), the United Kingdom (2,026), the Netherlands (924), Switzerland (899) and Australia (794). Germany, Switzerland and Austria together have 3,866. That's one German company for every 1.9 American ones, where the Google Font API profile shows one for every eight and a half. These counts cover the 16,621 domains we matched to a company.
Share of the 16,621 MyFonts domains we matched to a company record — 71.6% of the 23,225 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
MyFonts Market Share Among Font Services
What is MyFonts's market share? 0.11% of Font Services, 9th in the category, on 23,225 domains in our October 2026 crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The table isn't like-for-like. Google Font API (11,623,583 domains, 56.62%) and Bunny Fonts (147,470) host free fonts, Font Awesome (6,093,539) is an icon set, and Adobe Fonts (1,269,015) serves fonts from its own library. MyFonts sells licences font by font, so most of its domains are sites that paid for a typeface.
Top Competitors by Market Share
MyFonts Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use MyFonts? Mostly small, but less so than for free font hosts. 50.95% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, against 68.49% on Bunny Fonts' profile and 66.07% on Google Font API's. 25.07% have 11 to 50 and 12.91% have 51 to 200. 558 companies have more than 1,000 staff, including AbbVie, Booking Holdings and Weyerhaeuser.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
How old are companies that use MyFonts? Older than the users of Google's or Bunny's fonts. The largest group was founded in the 2010s (30.99%), but 14.45% predate 1960, against 3.89% on the Google Font API profile, and only 5.7% were founded in the 2020s. A paid typeface is something established brands buy, and the kit files we read show they keep one for years.
What Industries Use MyFonts the Most?
Advertising Services leads at 3.65%, then Real Estate (3.36%), Construction (3.27%), Retail (2.85%), Architecture and Planning (2.82%) and Hospitality (2.77%), based on our enriched company data. No industry reaches 3.7%. Design Services (2.33%) also makes the top ten, next to architecture: the trades that choose typefaces for a living show up as buyers.
Healthcare organisations using MyFonts include AbbVie on its news centre, Geisinger on its careers site, Fred Hutch on its supporter login and VSP Vision on vspvision.com. Universities using MyFonts include Carnegie Mellon's College of Engineering, Case Western Reserve, UC San Diego admissions and the University of Toronto's Black Research Network. Food companies on MyFonts include Land O'Lakes, Bimbo Bakeries USA and Noodles & Company.
MyFonts Alternatives & Competitors
MyFonts sites rarely drop it for a free host. They add one beside it. 8,367 MyFonts domains also load Google's font API, 6,810 load Font Awesome and 2,414 load Adobe Fonts; Bunny Fonts shares only 75. More than 86% of the domains ever seen with MyFonts and any of the first three still run both, so none of these pairs passes our switching tests. On those sites MyFonts is one font source among several.

How We Counted MyFonts Sites
A domain counts when a page loads a script or request from hello.myfonts.net or another myfonts.net address, links a stylesheet from one, or returns a Content-Security-Policy header that names myfonts.net. The first two come from an installed web-font kit: its stylesheet imports hello.myfonts.net/count/ plus a licence ID on every page view. The header clause only shows that a site permits MyFonts.
That last clause adds sites that never load a kit. All eight Presspage-hosted newsrooms we checked send the header, and in a sample of 20 MyFonts domains that opened, 4 only allow-listed MyFonts and 2 showed no reference to it. We haven't removed these from the 23,225 headline or the charts, which use the 22,965 domains left after removing 88 for-sale and gambling pages from 23,053 live domains. The company list is stricter: we opened all 90 candidates and kept only the 36 whose page loaded a counter.
Expert Analysis: MyFonts Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I run the crawler behind these numbers. For MyFonts, a domain counts when a page loads something from a myfonts.net address, links a stylesheet there, or sends a security header that names it. Our October 2026 crawl finds 23,225 domains, 16,621 of them matched to a company, 9th in Font Services with 0.11%. Most of those domains are found through one small request, and it's worth explaining before anything else.
A counter in every kit
MyFonts sells web-font licences by monthly pageviews. Its FAQ says most foundries sell them annually: you buy an allowance, and buy again at a higher tier if traffic outgrows it. To count pageviews, each kit's stylesheet opens with an @import of hello.myfonts.net/count/ and an ID. We read ten kit files that kept MyFonts' comment block. Their build dates run from June 2014 to June 2022, and their allowances from 10,000 to 3,000,000 pageviews a month; UC San Diego's admissions kit carries 1,000,000 and ServiceNow's developer portal 3,000,000. The ID is per licence. Among 521 domains where we could read it, we found 367 IDs. The biggest covered 32 domains, and the ones we looked at all belong to one Swedish organisation.
Sales signal: a MyFonts site has paid for a typeface and set a pageview ceiling. Sites whose traffic has grown since the kit was built are the upgrade conversation; kits from 2014 are the redesign one.
What the count includes that it shouldn't
The rule also matches a Content-Security-Policy header that names myfonts.net. A site can allow-list MyFonts without loading it. All eight Presspage-hosted newsrooms we checked send that header, so the newsrooms of American Family Insurance, Pirelli, Albert Heijn and the City of Calgary count here without any kit. In a sample of 20 MyFonts domains that opened, 14 loaded the counter, 4 only allow-listed MyFonts and 2 showed no MyFonts reference at all. Among our 90 candidate companies, only 36 loaded a counter, so the list below has 36 rows.
Sales signal: check the page before you pitch. A big brand in a raw MyFonts list may be a newsroom template that never loaded a font.
Reading the chart
The chart reads 19,643 in June, 21,894 in July, 22,357 in August, 23,134 in September and 23,225 in October. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and new ones added, and our detection widens too, so the early steps are mostly our side. From August the line moves by 868 domains. 2,319 domains have dropped MyFonts from a hostname since 16 March 2026; in a re-check, 372 of 2,324 still loaded it elsewhere on the domain.
"MyFonts installs are long-lived. The oldest kit we read was built in 2014 and still counts pageviews on a live site." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: this base is stable, so growth is a weak opener. Pitch on the age of the kit.
Older, and more German
50.95% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, against 68.49% on Bunny Fonts' profile, and 558 have more than 1,000 staff. Age is where MyFonts stands out: 14.45% were founded before 1960, against 3.89% on the Google Font API profile, and only 5.7% in the 2020s. Geography follows the same line. The United States has 4,841 matched companies and Germany 2,593, about one German company for every 1.9 American ones; Switzerland adds 899 and Austria 374. AbbVie, Booking Holdings, Weyerhaeuser and Land O'Lakes run kits on main or corporate sites, while Chipotle and Baxter use them on investor pages.
No industry passes 3.7%. Advertising Services leads at 3.65%, then Real Estate (3.36%) and Construction (3.27%), and two design trades make the top ten: Architecture and Planning (2.82%) and Design Services (2.33%). Those are the firms that choose typefaces for clients, and some of them buy for their own sites too. Hospitality (2.77%) is there as well, with Jumeirah among the named hotel groups.
Sales signal: for brand agencies and type foundries, the German-speaking MyFonts sites are a concentrated list of companies that already pay for typography.
One font source among several
8,367 MyFonts domains also load Google Font API, 6,810 Font Awesome and 2,414 Adobe Fonts. More than 86% of the domains ever seen with MyFonts and any of those three still run both, so nothing here is switching. Bunny Fonts shares only 75.
"More than a third of MyFonts sites also load Google's font API. The paid face sits next to free ones, which makes the licence easy to keep and easy to forget." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: font-management and licence-compliance tools have a natural opening: several font sources on one site, with at least one paid licence on a pageview cap.
The stack around it
Across the 22,965 clean live domains, WordPress runs on 48.0%, Drupal on 4.28% and TYPO3 on 3.51%. jQuery is on 86.92%, and Modernizr, which doesn't make Bunny Fonts' top six, is on 23.8%. Consent tools are more common than on Bunny Fonts' domains: Cookie Control 6.63%, OneTrust 5.63%, Cookiebot 5.33%.
Sales signal: a MyFonts site still running Modernizr and jQuery may be due a front-end rebuild. Agencies can lead with that, since a rebuild is also when a site's fonts get bought again.
What it costs
There's no single price: each foundry prices its fonts, and web licences scale with pageviews. MyFonts' FAQ says standard web licences cover one domain, and agencies or hosting providers may not share one licence across several sites. A "Pay as you go" option MyFonts added in 2016 allowed one kit across several domains. Monotype's August 2023 announcement made MyFonts its main store.
Key takeaways
1. 23,225 domains, 9th in Font Services, found mostly through the kit's pageview counter.
2. Some domains only allow-list MyFonts in a security header; verify before outreach.
3. About one licence per site: 367 counter IDs across 521 domains.
4. Older, larger and more German-speaking than free font users.
5. Kits last: build dates in our sample go back to 2014.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses MyFonts?
Established companies that bought a brand typeface, plus many small design-led businesses. Our October 2026 crawl finds MyFonts on 23,225 domains; 50.95% of matched companies have 10 or fewer staff and 558 have more than 1,000. Named users include AbbVie, Booking Holdings, ServiceNow, Chipotle, Weyerhaeuser, Land O'Lakes and Carnegie Mellon University, each checked on its own page.
How many customers does MyFonts have?
Our October 2026 crawl finds MyFonts on 23,225 domains, 16,621 of them matched to a company. That's a count of websites, and a slightly generous one, because some domains count only through a security header that allow-lists MyFonts. Licences look close to one per site: among 521 domains with a readable counter ID, we found 367 IDs. 2,319 domains have dropped it since March 2026.
What is MyFonts's market share?
0.11% of Font Services, 9th in the category, on 23,225 domains in our October 2026 crawl. The category mixes free font hosts, a subscription library and icon sets, so the rank isn't like-for-like. Google Font API leads with 11,623,583 domains (56.62%), Adobe Fonts has 1,269,015 (6.18%) and Bunny Fonts 147,470. MyFonts sells licences one font at a time.
What are the best alternatives to MyFonts?
It depends what you need. For free open-source families, Google Fonts (11,623,583 domains in our crawl) and Bunny Fonts (147,470) host them at no cost. Adobe Fonts is on 1,269,015 domains. Monotype, which owns MyFonts, also sells Monotype Fonts, a library under a single agreement. Most MyFonts sites already mix sources: 8,367 load Google's font API too.
Which countries use MyFonts the most?
The United States, with 4,841 matched companies, then Germany (2,593), the United Kingdom (2,026), the Netherlands (924) and Switzerland (899). Germany's count is more than half the American one; on the Google Font API profile it's about an eighth. Austria (374) also makes the top ten. These counts cover the 16,621 domains we matched to a company.
What size companies use MyFonts?
50.95% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 25.07% have 11 to 50 and 12.91% have 51 to 200. That's a bigger mid-size share than the free font hosts show: Bunny Fonts' profile has 68.49% at the smallest band. 558 MyFonts companies have more than 1,000 staff, including AbbVie, Booking Holdings and Weyerhaeuser.
How old are companies that use MyFonts?
Older than the users of free font services. Among matched companies with a known founding year, 30.99% were founded in the 2010s and 19.66% in the 2000s, but 14.45% predate 1960, against 3.89% on the Google Font API profile. Only 5.7% were founded in the 2020s. The kits stay in place for years, too: one we read was built in 2014.
What is the ideal customer profile for MyFonts?
The ideal MyFonts customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (50.95%), then 11-50, Location: US, Germany, UK, Netherlands, Founded: 2010s (30.99%); 14.45% before 1960, Industry: Agencies, real estate, construction, architecture, Site stack: WordPress (48.0%) with jQuery — based on our analysis of 16,621 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
Is MyFonts a legit website?
Yes. MyFonts belongs to Monotype, which announced in August 2023 that it would retire its Linotype, FontShop and Fonts.com stores and move their customers to MyFonts, its flagship store. In our October 2026 crawl, MyFonts web fonts run on 23,225 domains, including AbbVie's news centre, Booking Holdings' corporate site and ServiceNow's developer portal.
How does MyFonts track pageviews for web fonts?
Each MyFonts web-font kit's stylesheet starts with an @import of a small file at hello.myfonts.net/count/ followed by an ID. Every page that uses the kit fetches it, which gives MyFonts a pageview count to set against the licence. That counter is also how our crawl finds most MyFonts sites, and the ID lets us tell one licence from another.
How much does a MyFonts web font licence cost?
MyFonts prices web fonts per font and per monthly pageviews. Its FAQ says most foundries sell them on an annual licence: you buy a monthly pageview allowance and buy again at a higher tier if traffic outgrows it. The kits we could read carried allowances from 10,000 to 3,000,000 pageviews a month. Prices vary by foundry and typeface, so check each font's licensing tab.
Can one MyFonts web font licence cover several websites?
Not under the standard terms. MyFonts' FAQ says web fonts can be used on a single domain, and agencies or hosting providers may not share one licence across several sites. Our crawl fits that: among 521 domains with a readable counter ID we found 367 IDs. The biggest covered 32 domains, and the ones we checked all belong to Ledarna, a Swedish organisation.
Why does my site load hello.myfonts.net?
Because a MyFonts web-font kit is installed, usually in a theme's stylesheet. The request is the licence's pageview counter, an @import line at the top of the kit's CSS. In ten kit files we read, the comment block names the build date and the pageview allowance; the oldest was built in June 2014. Plenty of sites still load kits bought years ago.
Is MyFonts closing?
No. Monotype is closing other stores, not MyFonts. Its August 2023 announcement retired the Linotype, FontShop and Fonts.com sales sites and moved their customers to MyFonts.com, which it called its flagship. Our October 2026 crawl still finds MyFonts on 23,225 domains, and the counter loaded on 36 of the 90 company pages we opened.
