Most Metricool users never add anything to their website. They schedule posts and read their Instagram or TikTok numbers inside the app, and a crawl can't see that. What it can see is the website tracker some of them add to connect a site or blog to their Metricool account. Our October 2026 crawl finds that tracker on 54,542 live domains, so treat the number as a floor for Metricool's customer base, not a count of it. Below is the list of companies that use Metricool this way, with country, size, industry and stack.

The footprint is Spanish first. We matched 11,896 Metricool companies to Spain and 6,629 to the United States, and Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Peru all make the top 12. Named sites include Universidad de los Andes, the engineering group IDOM, Peru's Banco de la Nación and Groupe Casino. Metricool ranks 7th of 69 technologies in Social Media & Content Curation with 3.9%, in a table built mostly from share buttons and social embeds.

Metricool Usage Statistics

Our crawl began recording Metricool's tracker in August 2026, so there are three readings: 39,041 domains in August, 53,568 in September and 54,542 in October. The August to September step of 14,527 domains isn't a wave of new customers. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time; both changes sit inside that step. October added only 974 domains to September's figure, so the line has already flattened.

List of Companies Using Metricool

Who uses Metricool? This list of companies that use Metricool names 50 of the 39,786 matched companies, picked by LinkedIn following, which is why universities crowd it. Every row loaded Metricool's tracker script in a browser or the page source when we checked in October 2026. 18 of the 50 run it on a subdomain, such as alumni.uc.cl, aprende.csic.es or annualreport.haskell.com, so at a large organisation the Metricool customer is often the team behind one site.

Metricool Market Share Among Social Media & Content Curation

What is Metricool's market share? 3.9% of Social Media & Content Curation, 7th of the 69 technologies we track there, on 54,542 domains, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. Read that rank with care. The category counts every social technology a site loads, and the rows above Metricool are share buttons and embeds: Facebook's, Twitter's, AddToAny and ShareThis among them. So the 3.9% compares Metricool's website tracker with buttons, not Metricool with Hootsuite or Buffer, whose customers leave no script on their sites for us to count.

Metricool Customers by Company Size & Age

What size companies use Metricool? Mostly very small ones. 57.74% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 26.97% have 11 to 50, so 84.71% have 50 staff or fewer. That fits a tool whose free plan covers one brand and whose paid plans are priced by the number of brands managed. 463 companies have more than 1,000 staff, and several run the tracker on a single site, such as alumni.uc.cl or posgrado.cayetano.edu.pe.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (36.94%), and another 21.12% in the 2020s, so 58.06% started in 2010 or later. The 2000s add 16.97%. At the other end, 4.14% were founded before 1960, the band that holds many of the universities and hospitals on our list, such as Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (1613) and the Royal Melbourne Hospital (1848).

What Industries Use Metricool the Most?

Advertising Services leads at 4.98%, and with Marketing Services (2.76%) agencies make up 7.74% of matched companies, based on our enriched company data. Construction (3.49%), Business Consulting and Services (3.33%), Retail (2.98%) and Real Estate (2.72%) follow. No industry reaches 5%, and the top ten add up to 28.64%, so the tracker turns up on small businesses of almost every kind.

Higher education isn't in the top ten industries overall. Hospitals on Metricool include the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge and Clínica Universidad de Navarra on its research site. Construction companies using Metricool include Bogotá's Amarilo and The Haskell Company, on its annual report site.

Expert Analysis: Metricool Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Elif Arslan
Elif ArslanCMO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

I've spent more than ten years helping sales and marketing teams use technographic data, and social media tools are among the hardest products to read from a crawl. Metricool shows why. Its main jobs, scheduling posts and reporting on social accounts, happen inside its own app and leave nothing on a customer's website. The piece we can see is its website tracker. Our October 2026 crawl finds that tracker on 54,542 live domains, and we matched 39,786 of them to a company. Metricool's about page says more than 4 million professionals use it. Both numbers can be true, and the gap between them is the first thing a seller should understand.

What our crawl can and can't see

A domain counts here when a page loads a script from tracker.metricool.com, the code that connects a website or blog to a Metricool account so its visits appear next to social stats. People add it by hand or through Metricool's WordPress plugin, which inserts the script for them and which WordPress.org lists at 80,000+ active installations. A brand that only schedules posts never installs it. So the list is a floor: every company on it uses Metricool, and plenty of Metricool users aren't on it.

Sales Signal: a domain with the tracker belongs to an account that wanted website and social data in one report. That's a narrower group than Metricool's sign-ups, and one you can find.

Growth trajectory: three readings

Our crawl began recording the tracker in August 2026, and the series has three points: 39,041 domains in August, 53,568 in September and 54,542 in October. I wouldn't call the August to September step of 14,527 a wave of new customers. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time, and a series this young is still settling. October added only 974.

"Metricool's tracker shows us the customers who wanted their website traffic in the same report as their Instagram. That's a fraction of its users, but it's the fraction a B2B seller can find." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: don't pitch growth from this chart. Three months can't show a trend, and the honest base for prospecting is about 54,500 sites.

Customer profile

The base is small. 57.74% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 26.97% have 11 to 50, so 84.71% have 50 staff or fewer. That matches the pricing: the free plan covers one brand, and paid plans are sold by the number of brands, from $20 a month for up to five on annual billing. 58.06% of matched companies were founded in 2010 or later. The large-company tail is real but specific. 463 matched companies have more than 1,000 staff, and several of them run the tracker on one site: CSIC on its learning portal aprende.csic.es, Universidad Católica on alumni.uc.cl, The Haskell Company on its annual report. Groupe Casino, IDOM and Banco de la Nación carry it on their main domains.

Sales Signal: at a large organisation the Metricool user is the communications team behind one site. Find that team first.

Spanish first: geography and industry

This is the finding I'd lead with. Spain has 11,896 matched companies, against 6,629 in the United States. Add Mexico (1,842), Colombia (1,627), Argentina (1,231), Chile (922) and Peru (542), and Spanish-speaking markets hold 18,060, nearly three times the US figure. Metricool Software SL is registered in Madrid, per its legal notice, and search demand leans the same way: about 26,000 US searches a month for "metricool" against roughly 277,000 worldwide. France (2,068) and the United Kingdom (1,856) are the biggest markets outside Spain and the Americas.

By industry the base is horizontal. Advertising Services leads at 4.98%, and with Marketing Services (2.76%) agencies make up 7.74%. Construction (3.49%), consulting (3.33%), retail (2.98%) and real estate (2.72%) follow, and the top ten industries add up to only 28.64%. Our company list looks more academic than that, with 17 universities among the 50, but that's because the list favours organisations with large LinkedIn followings.

Sales Signal: a Spanish-language campaign reaches most of this base. Agencies are the multiplier, because one agency running Metricool for ten clients is one decision about ten brands.

What runs next to it

This page has no competitor table, by design. The tools Metricool is usually compared with, such as Hootsuite, Buffer, Later and Sprout Social, don't leave a script on a customer's website that we detect, so we can't count their customers the same way. Buffer prices per channel with a free plan for three, and Hootsuite sells per user from $99 a month. What we can measure is overlap with share-button tools in the same category: AddToAny runs on 1.25% of Metricool domains and ShareThis on 0.56%. None of those pairs passes our switching tests, because most domains we've seen with both still have both. A share button and an analytics tracker do different jobs.

"Metricool's real competitors are invisible to a website crawl. The tracker list tells you who uses Metricool. It can't tell you who's about to switch from Hootsuite or Buffer." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: for a rival social tool, this is a list of accounts that already care about website traffic. Lead with reporting, not scheduling.

The stack around it

Across the 55,077 live domains in our stack sample, Google Analytics runs on 79.49%, so Metricool's tracker is nearly always a second analytics tag. WordPress is on 69.85%, Elementor on 34.65% and Divi on 8.74%. WooCommerce (17.18%) is about three times as common as Shopify (5.83%). Email tools are thin, and none reaches 6%: Mailchimp 5.52%, Brevo 3.09%, Klaviyo 2.94%, MailerLite 2.68%. Site Kit (8.4%) and MonsterInsights (5.17%) show how many owners manage analytics from inside WordPress.

Sales Signal: anything sold as a WordPress plugin fits this base, and with no email platform on more than 6% of domains, email marketing is an open conversation.

What Metricool says, and what we see

Metricool's about page dates it to 2014, when its founders built Bloggerespacio to measure a blog. It became Metricool in 2015, passed its first million clients worldwide in 2022 and joined team.blue in 2024. Our 54,542 domains sit far below the 4 million it claims, which is what you'd expect from a product used mostly inside its own app. The pricing page, checked on 12 October 2026, fits the base we see: Free for one brand with 20 scheduled posts a month, Starter from $20 a month and Advanced from $53 a month on annual billing, and quoted Custom plans with white label.

Sales Signal: treat Metricool's 4 million as reach and our 54,542 as addressable websites. Prospect from ours.

Key takeaways

  • 54,542 live domains carry Metricool's website tracker in October 2026, a floor for a tool most people use inside its app.
  • Spain (11,896) and five Latin American countries (6,164) hold 18,060 matched companies, against 6,629 in the US.
  • 84.71% of matched companies have 50 staff or fewer, and agencies are the largest industry cluster at 7.74%.
  • 69.85% of domains run WordPress and 79.49% run Google Analytics as well.
  • No switching shows up in our data, because Metricool's rivals leave no website footprint we detect.

How to use this list

Outreach template: "Hi [Name], I noticed [domain] sends its website stats to Metricool alongside your social accounts. If the monthly client report is where the hours go, here's how [product] handles it."

Targeting strategy: filter Metricool companies in Spain, Mexico and Colombia with 1 to 50 staff in Advertising Services or Marketing Services. That's the agency core, and each one runs several brands.

Competitive angle: large organisations run the tracker on one microsite. Check which site carries it before you assume a company-wide contract.

The full Metricool list on TechnologyChecker.io covers 54,542 live domains and 39,786 matched companies from our October 2026 crawl, with filters for size, country, industry and stack. Our guide to technology detection methods explains why a script on a page counts some customers and misses others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses Metricool?

Mostly small businesses, agencies and institutions in Spain and Latin America that connected a website to their Metricool account. Our October 2026 crawl finds the tracker on 54,542 live domains, and 57.74% of matched companies have 1 to 10 staff. Named sites include Universidad de los Andes, IDOM, Groupe Casino, Peru's Banco de la Nación and the Royal Melbourne Hospital.

How many customers does Metricool have?

Metricool's about page says more than 4 million professionals use it to manage social media. Our crawl sees only the ones who added its website tracker: 54,542 live domains in October 2026, 39,786 of them matched to a company. Most users schedule posts and read social analytics without the tracker, so our number is a floor for websites, not a customer count.

What is Metricool's market share?

3.9% of Social Media & Content Curation, 7th of the 69 technologies we track there, on 54,542 domains. Read the rank with care. The category mixes social media tools with share buttons and embeds, and Facebook's, Twitter's, AddToAny and ShareThis sit above Metricool. So it measures Metricool's website tracker against buttons, not Metricool against other social media managers.

Which countries use Metricool the most?

Spain, with 11,896 matched companies, then the United States (6,629), France (2,068), the United Kingdom (1,856), Mexico (1,842) and Colombia (1,627). Spain and the five Latin American countries in the top 12 hold 18,060 between them, nearly three times the US figure. Metricool Software SL is registered in Madrid, and its base is still Spanish first.

What size companies use Metricool?

Mostly very small ones. 57.74% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 26.97% have 11 to 50, so 84.71% have 50 staff or fewer. 463 have more than 1,000, and many of those run the tracker on a single site, such as an alumni portal or a postgraduate school, instead of their main domain.

How old are companies that use Metricool?

Among matched companies with a known founding year, 36.94% were founded in the 2010s and 21.12% in the 2020s, so 58.06% started in 2010 or later. The 2000s add 16.97%. The oldest names on our list are universities and hospitals, such as Universidad Nacional de Córdoba, founded in 1613, and the Royal Melbourne Hospital, founded in 1848.

What are the best alternatives to Metricool?

Metricool's own comparison page sets it against Agorapulse, Buffer, Hootsuite, Later, Loomly, Planoly and Sprout Social. Buffer has a free plan for up to three channels, then charges per channel. Hootsuite sells per user, from $99 a month for Standard. Hootsuite, Buffer, Later, Sprout Social and Agorapulse leave no script on a customer's website that we detect, so we can't count them like for like.

What is Metricool used for?

Planning, publishing and measuring social media. Metricool schedules posts to networks including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook, reports on accounts and ads, and tracks competitors. It also has website analytics: a tracking script, added by hand or by its WordPress plugin, reports visits, pages and traffic sources next to the social data. That script is what our crawl detects.

How much does Metricool cost?

Metricool's pricing page lists Free at $0 for one brand and 20 scheduled posts a month. Starter runs from $20 a month billed annually, or $25 monthly, for up to five brands. Advanced starts at $53 a month annually, or $67 monthly, for 15 brands, and 50 brands cost $159 a month annually. Custom plans add white label and are quoted. Checked 12 October 2026.

Is Metricool worth it?

It depends on how many brands you run. The free plan covers one brand, 20 scheduled posts a month and 30 days of analytics, which suits a single small business. Agencies pay by brand count, from $20 a month for five on annual billing. Our crawl fits that small-business picture: 57.74% of matched Metricool companies have 10 staff or fewer.

Is Metricool better than Hootsuite?

They're priced for different buyers. Hootsuite's plans page sells per user, from $99 a month for Standard, after a 14-day trial. Metricool prices by brand, with a free plan and paid plans from $20 a month billed annually. A small team managing many brands pays less on Metricool's model; a large team pays Hootsuite per seat. Prices checked 12 October 2026.

What are the key differences between Buffer and Metricool?

Mainly how they charge. Buffer prices per connected channel: free for up to three channels with 10 scheduled posts each, then $5 a month per channel on Essentials, billed yearly. Metricool prices per brand, with each brand's networks included, and pairs social reports with website analytics from its own tracker, which our crawl finds on 54,542 domains. Checked 12 October 2026.

What are some free alternatives to Metricool?

Buffer's free plan connects up to three channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Metricool's own free plan covers one brand, 20 posts a month and 30 days of analytics, so it's often the free option others are compared with. Hootsuite has no free tier on its plans page, only a 14-day trial. Checked 12 October 2026.

Does Metricool work with WordPress?

Yes. Metricool's WordPress plugin, built with Really Simple Plugins, connects a site to a Metricool account and adds the tracking script automatically, and WordPress.org lists it at 80,000+ active installations. In our crawl, WordPress runs on 69.85% of live Metricool domains and Elementor on 34.65%, so most of the sites we count are WordPress sites.
