Companies Using AddToAny

I went into AddToAny's numbers expecting a smaller ShareThis, the other free share-button script on this many sites. It isn't one. The two rarely share a site, and they lean on different countries. A domain counts here when a page on it loads AddToAny's script from static.addtoany.com or addtoany.com/menu/page.js, or runs its a2apage_init call. Our October 2026 crawl finds 134,763 live domains, 72,673 of them matched to a company, 3rd of 69 in Social Media & Content Curation. I opened the 50 named sites on 13 October: 43 loaded AddToAny and the other seven blocked automated visits.

One step, then a slow climb

The chart reads 109,864 in June, 126,839 in July and 134,763 in October. The June to July jump of 16,975 domains reflects changes on our side rather than a wave of installs: the set of domains we crawl turns over each month, with dead sites leaving and new ones arriving, and our detection widens over time. After July the line adds 7,924 domains, or 6.25%, in three months. 14,977 domains dropped AddToAny on at least one hostname since 16 March 2026, about one for every nine live today, and 1,919 of the 14,979 we rechecked on 13 October still run it on another hostname.

Sales signal: treat AddToAny as a stable pool of about 135,000 sites, not a fast-growing one. Re-pull the list monthly if you sell into it, because exits since March equal about a ninth of the live count.

Small sites, and big organisations' side sites

58.21% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 23.51% have 11 to 50. ShareThis's base is a little more micro, at 63.79%. At the top, 1,764 companies have more than 1,000 staff, and the big ones usually run AddToAny on a single property: 32 of the 50 on our list use it on a subdomain. TotalEnergies has it on its careers site, TSMC on its press centre and Poste Italiane on its 2025 annual report site. Rows need reading, though: athome.starbucks.com carries AddToAny, but its footer says Nestlé runs that site under licence, so the buyer there isn't Starbucks. Only 10.63% of matched companies were founded in the 2020s, against 24.65% on Elementor's profile.

Sales signal: at a large account the AddToAny choice sits with whoever owns one site, often communications, investor relations or recruiting. Pitch that team, not central IT.

Drupal is the enterprise route

WordPress runs on 78.39% of AddToAny domains, and WordPress.org lists AddToAny's plugin at 300,000+ active installations, which explains the small sites. The large organisations mostly come through Drupal. It's on 9.76% of all AddToAny domains, yet 25 of the 50 sites on our list serve Drupal pages, including the University of California, UT Austin, Yale's admissions site, the IRS and Alcon. Eight serve WordPress, and the Governor of California's site and WashU Law load the plugin by name. Some sites got it from a vendor. Boeing's investor site, Zoetis's newsroom and Clarivate's investor site run on Q4's investor-relations platform, and all three carry AddToAny.

Sales signal: Drupal agencies and university web teams are the way into AddToAny's enterprise users. On Q4-hosted investor sites the buttons came with the template, so there's no AddToAny decision to displace.

Stronger in southern Europe and Brazil

The United States has 20,590 matched companies and the United Kingdom 4,840. Brazil (3,981), Italy (3,969), France (3,854) and Spain (3,791) follow, close together. ShareThis's profile shows where the difference lies. AddToAny has 1.32 times ShareThis's matched companies overall (72,673 to 55,253) but about the same number in the US, and roughly twice as many in Italy (3,969 to 1,724), France (3,854 to 1,754), Brazil (3,981 to 1,931) and Spain (3,791 to 1,905). Consent banners lean the same way: CookieYes runs on 6.73% of AddToAny domains against 3.92% of ShareThis's.

Sales signal: for consent, privacy or localisation vendors, AddToAny's Italian, French, Spanish and Brazilian sites are a bigger list than ShareThis's, and their owners already picked a script that says it doesn't track visitors.

ShareThis, AddThis and the switching question

The two free scripts pay for themselves differently. AddToAny's privacy policy says it doesn't sell personal data and uses no unique user identifiers across sites. ShareThis's data page sells consumer interest and intent data drawn from its publisher network. Few sites run both: 1,285 domains carry AddToAny and ShareThis today. AddThis is a different case. Oracle ended it on 31 May 2023, AddToAny's blog pitched itself as the drop-in replacement that April, and 1,097 domains still carry AddThis code next to AddToAny. None of these overlaps passes our switching tests, because most domains ever seen with both tools still run both.

Sales signal: for tag-audit and site-speed vendors, those 1,097 domains are a ready list of pages carrying a dead script. For AddToAny itself, the 72,261 domains still carrying AddThis code are the obvious prospects.

What users say

AddToAny's WordPress plugin is rated 4.7 out of 5 from 1,114 ratings on WordPress.org, on version 1.8.18. With no price to compare, the pitch is weight and privacy: AddToAny's blog puts its main script at 1.8 kB compressed, and its FAQ says the service is free, and its homepage says no registration is needed. Wikipedia dates the launch to March 2006 and says founder Pat Diven II bought the company back from Lockerz in 2013.

Sales signal: there's no AddToAny contract to replace. A rival share tool has to win on features or on a privacy story, not on price, because there isn't one.
