Companies Using IconScout

IconScout sells design assets, but that isn't what our crawl mostly sees. When I opened the pages behind our October 2026 count of 4,299 live domains, almost every one loaded Unicons, the free icon font IconScout publishes. So I split the free library from the paid marketplace before asking who, on our data, is worth a conversation.

Mostly a free font

Our rule counts a site that links any IconScout host. In a live check of 300 random domains on 14 October 2026, 265 carried an IconScout file and 244 of those loaded the Unicons stylesheet from unicons.iconscout.com. Only a handful pulled files from IconScout's marketplace CDNs: 13 from cdn.iconscout.com, 8 from the 3D-asset host and 3 from other asset hosts. Our own records agree, with Unicons on 3,306 of the 4,206 clean domains.

Sales signal: an IconScout domain tells you a developer picked an icon font. Use it as a stack hint; it says nothing about a design budget.

Growth, read with care

The chart climbs from 2,839 domains in June 2026 to 4,299 in October, with the biggest step to 3,797 in July. That step reflects changes on our side as much as adoption: the domains we crawl turn over every month, dead sites out and new ones in, and our detection widened. Since July the line has risen more gently. 658 domains dropped IconScout on at least one hostname since 16 March 2026; in a recount on 14 October, 56 of them still loaded it on another hostname.

Sales signal: slow, steady growth in a free library says little about IconScout's paid business. Don't size a market from it.

Who loads it

The base is small and young: 55.61% of matched companies have 1 to 10 staff and 70.92% were founded in 2010 or later. Tech firms lead, with IT Services at 10.01% and Software Development at 8.34%. Larger names use it in a single app or site: Momentum Group's corporate site, Roke's website, Standard Motor Products' corporate pages, Club Brugge's webshop and Pagar.me's login portal. Twenty-two of the 50 companies in our list load it on a subdomain, which is where dashboards and portals live. Universities are a cluster of their own, from Woxsen University and Khyber Medical University to the University of Molise, usually on a research or student site.

Sales signal: Unicons marks a team that builds its own interfaces, often on a small budget. That is a useful filter for developer tools and front-end services.

What the count still includes

Our filter removed 253 domain-for-sale and gambling pages before the charts. A few lookalikes slipped through and are small enough to name rather than cut: 48 Romanian domain-rental landers titled "Domenii Web de Închiriat", about 1.1% of the clean base, and a cluster of Russian-language "Get-X" online-casino pages, two of which turned up in our 300-domain check. Neither changes the picture of who uses Unicons.

Sales signal: drop .ro landers and casino titles from any exported list before outreach.

A global developer footprint

India leads with 330 matched companies, just ahead of the United States at 302, with Brazil (148), the UK (105), France (104) and Turkey (97) next. English-speaking countries hold only about a third of our top 15. Brazil's third place fits a free library that travels through templates as much as through a brand.

Sales signal: for developer-tool sellers, India and Brazil are where this list is densest relative to the usual US-first targeting.

Switching: no corridor here

Our switching table for IconScout is empty, and that is what an icon font should look like: people add icon sets and rarely remove them cleanly. The overlap that matters is with other libraries. Font Awesome loads on 39.99% of IconScout's domains and Bootstrap Icons on 5.68%, so many sites mix icon sets on one page.

Sales signal: sites carrying two or three icon sets are candidates for front-end performance work, since each set is another download.

The stack around it

Across 4,206 clean live domains, public CDNs dominate: cdnjs on 31.03%, jsDelivr on 29.91% and Unpkg on 16.98%. Bootstrap loads on 59.37% and jQuery on 68.4%. WordPress is on only 17.14%, and Fourthwall, the creator-store builder, on 6.7%. This is a hand-built web: templates, frameworks and libraries pulled from CDNs.

Sales signal: pitch developer tooling, hosting and performance services; this base is light on marketing suites.

What IconScout says, and what we see

IconScout's pricing page claims more than 9.1 million users and lists Individual at $14.99 per user a month, Team at $24.99 and Team+ at $54.99 for five users, billed annually (checked 14 October 2026). Those subscribers download files into designs and products, which our crawl can't trace back. Our crawl sees the free Unicons font, released under the IconScout Simple License on GitHub, copyright Design Barn Inc.

Sales signal: to find IconScout's paying customers, look at design teams; their downloads never reach website code.
