Companies Using Webpack

Our October 2026 crawl finds webpack output on 699,804 live domains. Webpack is a free, MIT-licensed JavaScript bundler, and our rule reads the global array its runtime uses to load code chunks: webpackJsonp, the webpack 4 name, or a bare webpackChunk. Webpack 5 normally adds the project's package name to that global, which our exact match skips, so this count is a floor. Below is the list of companies that use Webpack this way, including YouTube TV, L'Oréal's main site and Salesforce AppExchange.

Webflow decides the largest share. Webflow's site runtime is a webpack bundle, it runs on 30.78% of webpack domains, and all six Webflow sites in our random browser sample exposed the bare webpackChunk global. The rest is spread across custom builds, Nuxt and Vue apps, WordPress and Shopify. About 4.3% of the live set is noise we haven't removed: 13,597 domains are domainname.de for-sale landers, and 16,046 have numeric names or the title "Welcome", nearly all betting-app shells. Webpack ranks #1 in Developer Tooling with a 38.18% share.

Webpack Usage Statistics

Our current crawl counts 541,117 webpack domains in June 2026, 655,983 in July, 676,360 in August, 704,663 in September and 699,804 in October. Read the line as our crawl's coverage of the signal. Counts are not a like-for-like series over time: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. The 114,866-domain step into July reflects changes on our side, both the domains we cover and the signals we detect webpack with, rather than a surge in adoption.

Exits are mostly real. 106,872 domains have dropped the global on at least one hostname since we began tracking it in March 2026. When we rechecked on 13 October, 16,689 of 106,883 such domains (15.6%) still ran it on another hostname.

List of Companies Using Webpack

Our list of companies using Webpack covers 386,036 organisations matched to domains carrying the webpack global. Every size, industry and country figure on this page describes that set.

Among the named brands that use Webpack, 40 of 50 were detected on a subdomain: login pages such as signin.adp.com, locators such as locations.kfc.com and agents.farmers.com, and portals such as appexchange.salesforce.com. Of the 40 we confirmed in a browser, 30 used the older webpackJsonp global. When you review websites using Webpack at a large company, treat the hit as one application's build; the rest of the estate may use something else.

Webpack Market Share Among Developer Tooling

What is Webpack's market share? Webpack holds 38.18% of the Developer Tooling category and ranks #1, with 699,804 domains, 1.85 times Babel (379,086, 20.68%), based on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. Turbopack is third with 345,255 (18.84%). Babel is a compiler rather than a bundler, and it often runs inside a webpack build, so a site can count for both: 48,210 domains run Babel's polyfill and webpack output today.

Top Competitors by Market Share

Webpack Customers by Company Size & Age

Is Webpack only used by small businesses? No, though they're the majority. 57.09% of matched companies have 1-10 employees and 82.65% have 50 or fewer, out of 354,581 with a size band. Above 1,000 employees there are 7,550 companies, and in our named list they usually carry webpack on a single app rather than the main site: USPS on its change-of-address form, Deutsche Bank on flow.db.com and Salesforce on AppExchange.

Company Size Distribution

Company Age (Founded Decade)

Of the 213,919 matched companies with a founding year, 38.04% were founded in the 2010s and 24.9% in the 2020s, so 62.94% date from 2010 or later. Older organisations still show up on specific apps: L'Oréal runs webpack output on its main site, and Crédit Agricole on credit-agricole.com.

What Industries Use Webpack the Most?

Software Development leads at 5.27%, followed by Retail (4.17%) and IT Services and IT Consulting (4.08%). Software, IT services and Technology, Information and Internet add up to 12.68%, a tech tilt you'd expect for a build tool. Even so, the ten industries charted cover only 34.04% of matched companies, based on our enriched company data.

Software Development17,926 (5.27%)
Retail14,188 (4.17%)
IT Services and IT Consulting13,881 (4.08%)
Technology, Information and Internet11,341 (3.33%)
Advertising Services10,740 (3.16%)
Business Consulting and Services10,512 (3.09%)

Advertising agencies using Webpack make up 3.16% and real estate companies using Webpack 3.08%. With Webflow on 30.78% of the base, many of these sites likely get webpack from the platform's runtime. Banks and financial firms using Webpack (3.07%) look different: TD Bank and ADP run it on their own sign-in pages and ANZ on its personal-banking site, where a custom front end is most likely.

Webpack Alternatives & Competitors

Read this table as tools in one build chain. Babel (20.68%) is a compiler, not a bundler, and it often runs inside webpack through a loader, which is why 48,210 domains run both today. Turbopack (18.84%) is mostly Next.js builds, and Next.js names its global webpackChunk_N_E, which our webpack rule doesn't match. Vite (5.2%) and Parcel (2.08%) are the direct bundler alternatives; 2,065 domains run Vite and webpack output together today, and 1,551 run Parcel and webpack.

Expert Analysis: Webpack Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Mehmet Suleyman
Mehmet SuleymanCEO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

Webpack is a build tool, so most of what it does happens before a site ships. What a browser can see is the small runtime it leaves behind to load code chunks, and that is what I counted. As of our October 2026 crawl, TechnologyChecker.io finds that runtime's global on 699,804 live domains, with 386,036 organisations matched to a company record. It's the largest footprint in our Developer Tooling category, and a third of it comes from one website builder.

What the signal catches

Our rule checks for two exact global names. webpackJsonp is the chunk array webpack 4 builds create. In webpack 5, webpack's documentation says the default name is webpackChunk followed by the project's unique name, which comes from package.json; only builds without one keep the bare webpackChunk. Renamed globals don't match. That leaves out Next.js (webpackChunk_N_E) and third-party SDKs we saw in our sample, such as Stripe.js and the Didomi and Axeptio consent tools. So the count is a floor, tilted toward webpack 4 and toward builds without a package name. npm lists webpack 5.111.1 as the latest release, published in September 2026; webpack 5.0.0 shipped in October 2020.

Who put webpack on the page

I opened 40 random live webpack domains in a browser. 33 loaded, and 30 exposed one of the two counted globals: 17 webpackJsonp and 13 webpackChunk. All six Webflow sites in the sample used the bare webpackChunk, because Webflow's site runtime is a webpack bundle. Across the full stack analysis Webflow runs on 30.78% of domains and Webflow Ecommerce on 5.0%. The webpackJsonp pages were a mix: custom company apps, Nuxt sites, WordPress sites, betting apps and two domains that redirect to Microsoft's sign-in page.

Some of the count isn't anyone's front end. 13,597 domains (1.97%) are for-sale landers on domainname.de, which loads its own webpack bundle, and 16,046 (2.33%) have numeric names or the title "Welcome", nearly all betting-app shells; four of the 33 pages we loaded were gambling sites. The 3,371 domains titled "Sign in to your account" redirect to Microsoft's hosted login. Together that's about 5% we haven't removed from the headline.

Sales Signal: Split the list three ways before you prospect: Webflow sites, where the platform ships webpack; landers and login redirects, which you drop; and the rest, where a team built and deployed its own bundle.

Coverage, not growth

Our current crawl counts 541,117 domains in June 2026, 655,983 in July, 676,360 in August, 704,663 in September and 699,804 in October. Read the line as our crawl's reach into the signal.

Exits are more telling. 106,872 domains have dropped the global on at least one hostname since we began tracking it in March 2026, and when we rechecked on 13 October only 16,689 of 106,883 (15.6%) still ran it on another hostname. A site loses the exact global when it rebuilds on webpack 5 with a package name, moves to another bundler, or goes offline.

"The largest single source of webpack on the web isn't a company that chose it. It's Webflow, whose site runtime puts webpack on nearly a third of the domains we count." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: Treat the monthly total as flat and the exits as the live signal. A domain that drops webpackJsonp has usually rebuilt its front end, which makes it a fresh prospect for hosting, performance or agency work.

The companies behind the domains

57.09% of matched companies with a size band have 1-10 employees and 82.65% have 50 or fewer, against 69.03% at 1-10 employees on Babel's page, with 7,550 companies above 1,000 staff. 62.94% were founded in 2010 or later. In our named list, 40 of 50 detections are on a subdomain, and the surfaces repeat: sign-in pages (ADP, TD Bank), locators (KFC, Safeway, Farmers Insurance agents) and portals (Salesforce AppExchange, HPE's software licensing centre). Of the 40 named pages we confirmed, 30 used webpackJsonp, so large companies' webpack apps are mostly webpack 4 builds. Webpack publishes no customer list, so there was nothing vendor-side to cross-check.

Sales Signal: At an enterprise, a webpackJsonp hit on a login or portal app marks a front end that hasn't moved to webpack 5. That is the team to approach for build modernisation, performance or front-end platform work.

Industry and geographic concentration

Software Development leads at 5.27%, and software, IT services and internet companies together reach 12.68%; on Babel's page Software Development is only 2.03%. The ten largest industries still cover only 34.04%. The United States has 106,624 matched companies (27.62%), and Germany is a strong second with 45,788 (11.86%), ahead of the United Kingdom (28,677), France (19,668) and the Netherlands (16,158). English-speaking countries account for 42.46%, against 55.96% on Babel's page.

Sales Signal: For European developer-tool or agency sales, filter webpack plus Germany, France or the Netherlands and exclude Webflow; what remains is a large pool of in-house builds.

Why there is no migration table

We tested switching corridors and published none. Bundlers sit beside each other on one domain far more often than they replace each other. Babel runs today on 48,210 of the 56,690 domains where we've seen it with webpack, Vite on 2,065 of 2,574, Parcel on 1,551 of 2,008 and Turbopack on 6,140 of 11,531. Those are layers of the same build, or an old app beside a new one.

"A bundler change is invisible from outside until the old global disappears. That's why we count webpack's exits, not its rivals' gains." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales Signal: If you sell Vite-era tooling or migration services, target domains that run webpack and nothing newer. A domain already showing Vite or Turbopack beside webpack is mid-way and may not need you.

Technology ecosystem

Across the 689,829 domains in our stack analysis, jQuery runs on 71.03% and core-js on 65.3%, Lodash on 22.73%, Swiper on 20.06% and GSAP on 11.97%. Vue.js (8.82%) and React (7.36%) are the leading frameworks, with Nuxt.js at 5.58%, Angular at 3.63% and Next.js at only 2.7%. Shopify is on 7.45%, Shopware on 1.6% and Google Analytics on 56.79%.

Sales Signal: The jQuery figure says many of these bundles wrap older front ends. Pitch performance and bundle-size work rather than framework migration.

Key takeaways

  1. 699,804 live domains expose webpack's default chunk global; renamed webpack 5 builds aren't counted.
  2. Webflow carries 30.78% of the base through its own runtime.
  3. About 5% is for-sale landers, betting shells and Microsoft login redirects.
  4. Large companies run it on single apps, mostly as webpack 4 builds.
  5. Only 15.6% of dropped domains still run it elsewhere, so exits are real.

Sales applications

For targeting, filter Webpack on TechnologyChecker.io, exclude Webflow, and keep companies with 200+ employees; what remains are teams shipping their own builds. For outreach, be specific: "Your sign-in app still runs a webpack 4 build. We move teams to webpack 5 or Vite without a redesign." For competitive work, watch the exits: the 106,872 domains that dropped the global since March are the ones that changed their front end most recently.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who uses Webpack?

Webflow sites, above all: Webflow runs on 30.78% of the 699,804 domains where we find webpack's global, because its site runtime is a webpack bundle. Beyond Webflow, custom builds dominate. Named examples include YouTube on tv.youtube.com, L'Oréal on its main site and Salesforce on AppExchange. Software Development is the largest industry, at 5.27% of matched companies in our data.

How many customers does Webpack have?

None in the paying sense, because webpack is free and MIT-licensed. Our October 2026 crawl finds its chunk-loading global on 699,804 live domains, and 386,036 organisations match a company record. That's a floor, since webpack 5 builds with a package name use a renamed global. Since March 2026, 106,872 domains have dropped it on a hostname, and 15.6% still run it elsewhere.

What is Webpack's market share?

Webpack holds 38.18% of the Developer Tooling category on TechnologyChecker.io and ranks #1, ahead of Babel (20.68%), Turbopack (18.84%), Vite (5.2%) and Parcel (2.08%). The table mixes a compiler with bundlers, and many sites appear under more than one row. Read the share as webpack's footprint in our crawl; webpack 5 builds with a package name aren't in it.

What are the best alternatives to Webpack?

The main bundler alternatives are Vite, Parcel, Rollup, esbuild and Turbopack. In our data Vite has 95,246 domains and Parcel 38,176, while Turbopack's 345,255 are mostly Next.js builds. Babel is a compiler that often runs inside webpack, so it complements webpack. Overlap is modest: 2,065 domains run Vite and webpack output today, and 6,140 run Turbopack and webpack.

Which countries use Webpack the most?

The United States leads with 106,624 matched companies, 27.62% of the 386,036 we matched. Germany is second with 45,788 (11.86%), then the United Kingdom (28,677), France (19,668) and the Netherlands (16,158). English-speaking countries make up 42.46% of the matched base, against 55.96% for Babel on TechnologyChecker.io, so webpack's list leans more European.

What size companies use Webpack?

Mostly small ones, with a large enterprise tail. 57.09% of matched companies with a size band have 1-10 employees and 82.65% have 50 or fewer. There are 7,550 companies above 1,000 employees. At those companies webpack usually sits on one application, such as a sign-in page, store locator or partner portal, rather than across the main website.

How old are companies that use Webpack?

Mostly founded after 2010. Of the 213,919 matched companies with a founding year, 38.04% were founded in the 2010s and 24.9% in the 2020s, so 62.94% date from 2010 or later. The 2000s add 14.65%. Older firms appear mainly through specific apps, such as L'Oréal's main site and Deutsche Bank's flow.db.com portal.

What is the ideal customer profile for Webpack?

A typical webpack site belongs to a 1-10 person company (57.09%) founded in the 2010s (38.04%), in the United States, Germany or the United Kingdom, often built on Webflow. For enterprise prospecting, filter for companies with 1,000+ staff and look at which app carries the global: sign-in pages and portals usually mean an in-house front-end team.

What does webpack do?

Webpack bundles a site's JavaScript modules, styles and assets into files a browser can load, and splits them into chunks that load on demand. That chunk loading is what we detect: the runtime keeps a global array, webpackJsonp in webpack 4 or webpackChunk in webpack 5, and we find one of the two default names on 699,804 live domains.

What is webpack vs Babel?

Webpack is a bundler that combines modules into browser-ready files; Babel is a compiler that rewrites JavaScript syntax. They're often used together, with Babel running inside webpack through a loader. Our data shows the pairing: 48,210 domains run Babel's polyfill and webpack output today, out of 56,690 where our crawl has seen both.

Is webpack still relevant in 2026?

Yes. The webpack package's latest version on npm is 5.111.1, published in September 2026, and our October 2026 crawl finds webpack output on 699,804 live domains. Much of it is older: of the 40 company pages we confirmed in a browser, 30 used webpackJsonp, the webpack 4 global. Newer projects often choose Vite instead, which we find on 95,246 domains.

Is Vite replacing webpack?

Not in our data yet. Webpack output runs on 699,804 live domains in our October 2026 crawl and Vite on 95,246, about one Vite domain for every seven webpack domains. The two rarely meet: 2,065 domains run both today, out of 2,574 where we've seen the pair. We tested switching between them and published nothing, because most domains with both still run both.

Does NextJS still use webpack?

The Next.js pages we loaded expose a chunk global named webpackChunk_N_E, the webpack 5 naming pattern, but our webpack rule only matches the default names, so most Next.js sites aren't in this count. Next.js appears on 2.7% of webpack domains. Turbopack, which our data finds mostly on Next.js sites, has its own page with 345,255 domains.

Why do so many Webflow sites use webpack?

Webflow ships its site runtime as a webpack bundle, so published Webflow sites load it whatever the owner built. In our random browser sample, all six Webflow sites exposed the bare webpackChunk global. That's why Webflow runs on 30.78% of webpack domains. A Webflow hit tells you which platform built the site and little about the company's own developers.

How does TechnologyChecker.io detect Webpack?

We load each page in a browser and check for two exact global names: webpackJsonp, webpack 4's chunk array, and webpackChunk, webpack 5's default when a build has no package name. Renamed globals such as Next.js's webpackChunk_N_E don't count. Microsoft's hosted sign-in page carries webpackJsonp, so 3,371 domains that redirect to it appear here.
