Companies Using Presto Player
Our October 2026 crawl finds the Presto Player WordPress plugin on 14,798 live domains, 8,426 of them matched to a company. This is the list of companies that use Presto Player, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes APA Corporation, Oxford Economics, Paxton, Puttshack and Top Hat, and Dachser on its digital magazine. Most are small: 67.71% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees.
Presto Player is a plugin, so this counts WordPress sites that have it switched on, not a vendor's customer list. WordPress runs on 99.76% of these domains and Elementor on 79.29%. The plugin loads its files site-wide, so a site counts even when its homepage has no video. About 15% of sites report a paid Pro version. Presto Player ranks 12th of 86 in Video Players & Hosting with a 0.4% share.

Presto Player Usage Statistics
Presto Player reads 12,363 domains in June 2026, 13,982 in July, 14,086 in August, 14,917 in September and 14,798 in October. That isn't a like-for-like series. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time, so the June to July step of 1,619 says more about our coverage than about installs. After July the line added 104 domains, then 831, then lost 119 in October. Since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, 3,145 domains have dropped Presto Player on at least one hostname; 162 of them still run it on another.

Which countries use Presto Player the most? The United States, with 1,828 matched companies, then India (708), Brazil (648), the United Kingdom (497) and Germany (394). India and Brazil both rank above the UK, unlike Plyr's profile, where the UK is second and India ninth. Brazil, Mexico (120) and Colombia (107) add up to 875 companies, close to the UK and Germany combined (891), based on our enriched company data.
Share of the 8,426 Presto Player domains we matched to a company record — 56.9% of the 14,798 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Presto Player Market Share Among Video Players & Hosting
What is Presto Player's market share? 0.4% of Video Players & Hosting, 12th of the 86 technologies we track there, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The table is top-heavy. YouTube leads, and MediaElement.js (21.54%) is more than 50 times Presto's size and Video.js (6.03%) about 15 times. Its neighbours are much closer: SoundCloud is 1,922 domains ahead in 11th place, and Flowplayer is 2,486 behind in 13th.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Presto Player Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Presto Player? Small ones. 67.71% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 21.55% have 11 to 50, so 89.26% have 50 staff or fewer. Only 70 companies have more than 1,000 staff, and they tend to run it on one site: Dachser on its magazine, Benchmark Senior Living on its careers site, Maxwell Leadership on its online learning platform.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
How old are companies that use Presto Player? Young, next to other players' profiles. 31.5% of matched companies with a known founding year date from the 2020s, against 4.3% on Flowplayer's profile and 17.88% on Plyr's. The 2010s lead at 38.98%, and 85.24% were founded in 2000 or later. A few older names are on the list, such as Dachser (1930) and APA (1954).
What Industries Use Presto Player the Most?
Business Consulting and Services leads at 5.3%, then Advertising Services (4.31%) and Professional Training and Coaching (4.15%). The ten industries charted add up to 32.7% of matched companies, so there's no home vertical, based on our enriched company data. Two groups stand out. Agencies (Advertising and Marketing Services) make up 6.88%, and people who teach (Professional Training and Coaching plus Education) 7.12%.
Training and course companies using Presto Player are its clearest niche. Maxwell Leadership runs it on its online learning platform and Caritas on its learning site, and about 4.3% of live Presto Player domains also run LearnDash. Universities and schools on Presto Player include ACAP University College, King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang and Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology. Agencies using Presto Player are the second-largest group, a sign that many installs are made for clients.
Presto Player Alternatives & Competitors
Most rows in this table run beside Presto Player rather than in its place. 652 Presto domains run MediaElement.js today, 492 run Video.js and 403 run Plyr, and none of those pairs passes our switching tests, because most domains ever seen with both still have both. Wistia (1.06%) and JW Player (0.58%) are paid hosted services, and Wistia shares only 33 domains with Presto. Presto's own answer to hosting is a Bunny.net integration in its Pro plan.

Expert Analysis: Presto Player Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Presto Player is a WordPress plugin, so before I looked at a single chart I wanted to know what a detection means. Our October 2026 crawl counts a domain when its pages expose the plugin's JavaScript objects. That gives 14,798 live domains, 8,426 of them matched to a company, 12th of 86 in Video Players & Hosting. I opened 70 of those domains at random in a browser. 54 pages loaded properly, and 50 served Presto Player's files from the plugin's own folder; the other four didn't load it. Only 12 of the 50 showed a player on the homepage. The plugin loads everywhere once it's active, so this list is sites with the plugin switched on, whether or not the page you land on plays a video.
Free plugin, paid upgrade
The free plugin on wordpress.org lists 100,000+ active installations. Our 14,798 is smaller because we count live public domains, while the installation count includes every site where the plugin is active, including staging and private sites we can't crawl. The Pro add-on leaves a mark: sites running it expose a Pro version string. Of the 14,413 domains we detected in the past 45 days, 2,177 (15.1%) report one, 1,415 of them on a 3.x release. Seven of the 50 sampled sites showed Pro, which is about the same rate.
Sales signal: the 15% on Pro already pay for video features such as private video, analytics and HLS streaming. They're the better list for anyone selling video hosting, course tools or analytics, because the free-tier majority hasn't shown it will pay.
Growth trajectory
The chart reads 12,363 in June, 13,982 in July, 14,086 in August, 14,917 in September and 14,798 in October. The June to July step is mostly us: the domains we crawl turn over every month, with dead sites out and newly found ones in, and our detection signals widen over time. Since July the line has moved by 104, 831 and minus 119. Churn is real. 3,145 domains have dropped Presto Player on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, and only 162 of those still run it on another hostname. Small WordPress sites get rebuilt, change theme or close, and a plugin goes with them.
"Presto Player's base looks like the WordPress small-business web: two in three companies have ten or fewer staff, and almost a third were founded this decade." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat this as a stable pool of about 15,000 domains with steady turnover. A site that dropped Presto recently was probably rebuilt, which makes it a prospect for whoever built the new one.
Who the customers are
67.71% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, and 89.26% have 50 or fewer. 31.5% were founded in the 2020s, against 4.3% on Flowplayer's profile and 17.88% on Plyr's. Only 70 companies have more than 1,000 staff, and most of those run it on one property: Dachser on its digital magazine, Benchmark Senior Living on its careers site, Maxwell Leadership on its online learning platform. Mid-sized firms run it on their main site, including APA Corporation, Oxford Economics, Paxton and Puttshack. Presto Player doesn't publish a customer list, so I can't check these names against vendor case studies; every one comes from our own detections.
Sales signal: the buyer is usually the owner or the agency that built the site, not a video team. Pitch time saved and a cleaner player, not a platform.
Industry and geography
Business Consulting and Services leads at 5.3%, and the ten industries charted add up to 32.7%, so no vertical owns it. Two groups matter more than the leader. Agencies (Advertising and Marketing Services) make up 6.88%, and people who teach (Professional Training and Coaching plus Education) 7.12%. That second group fits Presto's LearnDash support; about 4.3% of live Presto domains run LearnDash. By country, the United States has 1,828 matched companies, then India (708) and Brazil (648), both ahead of the United Kingdom (497). Brazil, Mexico and Colombia together come to 875.
Sales signal: for course platforms and LMS add-ons, filter Presto sites by Professional Training and Coaching and Education. For Portuguese and Spanish-language WordPress agencies, the Latin American list is bigger than you'd guess.
Overlap with other players
Our switching tests found no corridor for Presto Player, and the overlap counts explain why. 652 Presto domains run MediaElement.js today and 492 run Video.js, out of 878 and 720 ever seen with both. Plyr overlaps on 403 domains and Wistia on 33. Most domains that ever had both still have both, which is what you'd expect when a theme or another plugin loads a second player on the same site. Since March, the moves in each direction have been small and roughly even: 75 domains that dropped Presto now run MediaElement.js, and 76 went the other way.
"There's no rival taking Presto Player's sites. When a site drops it, the usual story is a rebuild, not a switch." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a competitive displacement pitch has little evidence behind it. A complement pitch, such as hosting through Bunny.net or a course platform, fits what these sites already do.
The stack around it
WordPress is on 99.76% of the 14,886 domains in our stack analysis and Elementor on 79.29%. In my sample of 50, 22 ran the Astra theme. WooCommerce is on 27.21%. Hosting is the budget end of WordPress: Hostinger 27.47%, GoDaddy 10.03%, Hostgator 3.16%, Bluehost 3.02%. Google Analytics runs on 48.27%, and analytics plugins such as PixelYourSite (7.18%) and MonsterInsights (5.38%) show how owners set it up.
Sales signal: this is an Elementor audience. Elementor add-ons, WordPress care plans and managed hosting all reach the same owner, and Hostinger's 27.47% makes its customers the largest single hosting group here.
What it costs
Presto Player's pricing page (checked 13 October 2026) lists Starter at $79 a year for one website, Pro at $119 a year for 25 websites and Lifetime at $399 for 25 websites, all shown as reductions from $99, $149 and $499. The free plugin is at version 4.5.3.
Key takeaways
1. 14,798 live domains, 12th of 86, about 2,500 domains clear of the next player down.
2. It's a plugin: the count is WordPress sites with it switched on, and 12 of 50 sampled homepages showed a player.
3. About 15% run Pro; the rest are on the free plugin.
4. A young, small base: 67.71% at 1 to 10 employees, 31.5% founded in the 2020s.
5. An Elementor stack (79.29%), with no rival taking its sites.
How to use this list
Targeting: on TechnologyChecker.io, filter Presto Player sites by industry (training, coaching, consulting) and country, then by stack, such as WooCommerce or LearnDash.
Outreach template: "Your site runs Presto Player [free / Pro] on WordPress with Elementor. Most of the 8,426 Presto companies we've matched have ten or fewer staff. We help you [host video / sell courses / measure what gets watched]."
Competitive angle: sell alongside it, not against it. Its sites already run other players beside it, and the plugin leaves hosting to the site owner.
You can build a list of Presto Player sites on TechnologyChecker.io, filtered by industry, country, size and stack, across 14,798 domains and 8,426 matched companies.
