Oracle Eloqua Usage Statistics

Eloqua is detected on 5,198 domains as of August 2026. The curve runs from a handful of domains in 2005 to roughly 2,200 by late 2024, then steps up through 2026. Two things move this line and both matter: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones come in, and our detection widened considerably during 2026. Read it as a record of how visible Eloqua became to us, not as Oracle's sales history. Eloqua launched in 1999 and Oracle acquired it in 2012, so the product long predates the start of this chart.

Oracle Eloqua Market Share Among Marketing Automation

Ranking 23rd of 100 tools at 0.42% share tells you Eloqua is not a volume product, which is accurate but incomplete. HubSpot alone accounts for 47.55% of this category, and most of the tools above Eloqua sell to small businesses at price points Eloqua does not compete at. Share of domains and share of revenue are very different questions in Marketing Automation, and this table answers only the first.

Oracle Eloqua Customers by Company Size & Age

This chart needs a caveat before you read it. Just under half of Eloqua domains map to companies with fewer than 50 employees, which looks wrong for an enterprise platform. It is largely an artefact of how large organisations deploy Eloqua: on separate campaign domains, event microsites and sub-brand properties, each of which matches a small company record rather than the parent. A university athletics site and a single trade show both register as tiny companies. Judged against peers instead of in isolation, the enterprise signal is unambiguous: 18.39% of Eloqua companies have more than 1,000 employees and 5.50% have more than 10,000, both the highest of any web-detected tool in this category.

Company Age (Founded Decade)

What Industries Use Oracle Eloqua the Most?

Software development leads at 7.28%, followed by hospitals and healthcare at 6.78% and IT services at 6.15%. The more telling entries are further down: insurance, financial services, higher education and medical practices together account for a large block, and these are long sales-cycle industries where multi-step nurture programmes justify the licence cost.

Software Development174 (7.28%)
Hospitals and Health Care162 (6.78%)
IT Services and IT Consulting147 (6.15%)
Events Services106 (4.43%)
Spectator Sports100 (4.18%)
Medical Practices94 (3.93%)

Events services at 4.43% and spectator sports at 4.18% are unusually high for B2B marketing automation, and they are real rather than noise. The events figure is trade show and conference organisers, including large operators running dozens of individual show domains. The sports figure is US collegiate athletics departments and professional franchises using Eloqua for season ticket and donor campaigns. Both are registration-driven businesses with large contact databases, which is exactly the workload Eloqua is built for.

Oracle Eloqua Alternatives & Competitors

The category leaders shown here compete with Eloqua on paper more than in practice. The genuine enterprise alternatives are Adobe's Marketo and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, and the live switching data below shows how traffic actually moves between them.

Oracle Eloqua Customer Migration

Two patterns stand out. Eloqua loses down-market: 71 domains moved to HubSpot and 44 to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, against 19 and 4 coming the other way. Against Marketo, its closest enterprise rival, the flow reverses and Eloqua is net positive, gaining 31 domains and losing 12. Treat the 6sense and Qualified rows differently: those move almost equally in both directions, which is what co-deployment of adjacent tools looks like rather than replacement.

Tech Stack of Oracle Eloqua-Powered Websites

Google Tag Manager appears on 86.62% of Eloqua domains, which is the lowest rate of any tool in this category. That sounds like a weakness and is actually the signal: Eloqua customers are more likely to run an enterprise tag manager instead, with Tealium at 9.22% and Adobe Experience Platform Launch at 14.37%. The privacy tier points the same way. Transcend appears on 11.71% of Eloqua domains against 1.10% of Marketo domains, and TrustArc on 10.75% against 5.05%. Those are governance tools bought by large regulated organisations. OneTrust is high at 30.50% but is not distinctive, because Marketo is higher still at 33.06%.

Oracle Eloqua Customer Reviews with Pros and Cons

Reviewers consistently describe the same trade. The campaign and segmentation engine handles complexity that lighter tools cannot, and the cost is a steep learning curve, heavy administrator dependency and an interface that feels dated. Almost every complaint is about effort and price rather than capability, which is the characteristic review profile of an enterprise platform sold to teams with dedicated operations staff.

Generated from real user reviews on G2

Pros
  • Reviewers point to the campaign canvas as the core strength, building multi-step conditional programmes without developer help.(3 reviews)
  • Segmentation and list logic hold up against very large contact databases, where reviewers say lighter tools start to break.(2 reviews)
  • Teams report the platform lets them run genuinely data-driven programmes rather than batch sends to a whole list.(2 reviews)
  • The dashboard and campaign reporting expose a level of detail reviewers say their previous platform never surfaced.(2 reviews)
  • Reviewers credit the automation depth as the reason it survives long-cycle B2B programmes that run for months.(2 reviews)
Cons
  • The learning curve is steep enough that reviewers routinely need an administrator for anything past a standard send.(3 reviews)
  • Cost draws repeated criticism, and reviewers say it climbs once advanced modules and implementation work are added.(2 reviews)
  • Field merging and bespoke reporting hit limits that reviewers end up working around rather than configuring.(2 reviews)
  • Several reviewers say narrower requirements go unaddressed, leaving gaps they fill with other tools.(2 reviews)
  • Navigation feels dated, with reviewers describing routine tasks as taking more steps than they should.(2 reviews)

Expert Analysis: Oracle Eloqua Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Elif Arslan
Elif ArslanCMO & Co-founder, TechnologyChecker

Oracle Eloqua ranks 23rd in our Marketing Automation category. If you stop reading there, you will file it under declining legacy software and move on. That would be a mistake, and the reason is worth spelling out, because it is the same mistake that makes most technology market share tables misleading.

Eloqua is detected on 5,198 domains. HubSpot is on 583,796. On a share chart those two facts sit next to each other and imply that one product won and the other lost. But the two are not selling to the same buyer, and a count of domains is a count of websites, not a count of contract value. What makes a technology page useful to a sales team is not where a vendor ranks by volume. It is who, specifically, is on the list.

The enterprise concentration is the whole story

We ran Eloqua's company size distribution against every other web-detected tool in the category. Eloqua leads all of them. Some 18.39% of its enriched companies employ more than 1,000 people, and 5.50% employ more than 10,000. Marketo, the product most often compared with it, sits at 14.14% and 3.38%. Customer.io is at 1.24% above 1,000 employees, and SharpSpring at 1.68%.

That comparison is stronger than it looks, because Marketo and Eloqua are detected by identical means. Both are found through the tracking script they place on a page, the cookie it sets and the JavaScript variables it defines. When two products are measured the same way, the difference between their customer profiles is a fact about the products rather than a fact about our method. Most cross-vendor comparisons cannot make that claim.

A small install base of very large companies is a different asset from a large install base of small ones. For anyone selling into the enterprise, the first list is worth more per row, and Eloqua's is the most enterprise-weighted list in its category.

The company table bears this out. Siemens, Dell Technologies, ADP, Medtronic, AON, 3M, Broadcom, Eaton, Emerson, BlackRock, Thomson Reuters, Motorola Solutions, the London Stock Exchange Group, NXP, Rockwell Automation, Intuit and the Mayo Clinic all run it. Forty-eight of the top fifty detected companies employ more than 5,000 people. Oracle runs Eloqua on its own site, as does NetSuite.

Read the size chart carefully, because it looks wrong

Just under half of Eloqua domains map to companies with fewer than 50 employees. Taken at face value that contradicts everything above, and it is the single most likely thing on this page to be misread.

The explanation is that the domain is not the buyer. Large organisations run Eloqua on campaign sites, event microsites and sub-brand properties that sit outside the main corporate domain. One conference organiser in our data operates dozens of individual show sites, each with its own company record and each showing a handful of employees. A university athletics department appears as a micro-business. The parent organisation is large; the domain looks tiny; the licence is paid by the parent.

This is why we publish the peer comparison rather than the raw percentage alone. Every tool in this category has a long small-company tail, because that is what the web is made of. Eloqua's tail is among the shortest of the ten tools we compared, and its head is the tallest. The rank is the finding, not the absolute number.

The surrounding stack corroborates it

You can test the enterprise claim a second way, by looking at what else is installed. Google Tag Manager appears on 86.62% of Eloqua domains, which is the lowest figure of any tool in this category. Read alongside Tealium at 9.22% and Adobe Experience Platform Launch at 14.37%, that gap is not weakness but substitution: these customers are more likely to be running a paid enterprise tag manager.

Privacy tooling says the same thing more sharply. Transcend appears on 11.71% of Eloqua domains against 1.10% of Marketo domains. TrustArc is on 10.75% against 5.05%. Both are governance platforms bought by large regulated organisations with real data-subject-request volume. We checked OneTrust too, expecting it to support the same point, and it does not: Eloqua is at 30.50% but Marketo is higher at 33.06%, so we are not claiming it. Consent banners are a category-wide norm rather than an Eloqua signal.

Where customers actually go

The switching data is unsentimental. Seventy-one domains left Eloqua for HubSpot and 19 came back the other way. Forty-four left for Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement against four returning. Enterprises simplifying their stack, or consolidating marketing onto the same vendor as their CRM, are the two clearest exits.

The exception matters. Against Marketo, the flow reverses: 31 domains adopted Eloqua after dropping Marketo, and 12 went the other way. Where the competition is genuinely enterprise-to-enterprise, Eloqua is winning slightly. Where the competition is enterprise-to-midmarket, it is losing clearly. Both can be true, and together they describe a product with a defensible niche and no path back to volume.

Eloqua is not being displaced by a better enterprise product. It is being displaced by organisations deciding they no longer want an enterprise product.

What this page is good for

The practical use of the list on TechnologyChecker.io is prospecting into large, old, regulated organisations. More than half the companies here were founded before 2000. Manufacturing, healthcare, insurance, financial services and higher education run through the industry table. These are long procurement cycles, and an Eloqua install tells you the organisation already has a marketing operations function, already runs multi-step nurture programmes, and already spends real money on martech.

Two verticals surprise people and are worth understanding. Events services and spectator sports together account for more than 8% of enriched companies. Trade show organisers and US collegiate athletics departments both run registration-driven marketing against very large contact databases, which is precisely the workload the product was built for. They are not noise in the data. They are two of the most concentrated pockets of Eloqua usage we can see.

One caution on the churn figure. We have watched 1,018 domains drop Eloqua since March 2026, and roughly 380 of those meet a stricter test where we saw the product running more than once before it disappeared. That is recent observed churn, not a lifetime tally, and campaign microsites naturally come and go. Do not read it as a measure of Oracle losing 1,018 customers.

Our detection at TechnologyChecker.io looks for the Eloqua tracking script, its cookie and the JavaScript it defines, so every domain on this list was actively executing Eloqua code when we checked it. We verified a sample of the largest companies by hand and confirmed live Eloqua on 16 of the 20 we could test, each with its own account identifier. Where a domain did not confirm, the usual reason was that the page loads its tags at runtime rather than serving them in the initial HTML, which is how the great majority of these enterprises deploy it.

How many companies use Oracle Eloqua?

What kind of companies use Eloqua?

Large, old and regulated ones. Some 18.39% of Eloqua companies employ more than 1,000 people and 5.50% employ more than 10,000, the highest figures of any web-detected tool in this category. Is Eloqua still used in 2026?

Yes. We detect it on 5,198 domains and the count has risen through 2026 rather than fallen. The install base is small compared with HubSpot, but it is stable and heavily concentrated among large enterprises. Siemens, Dell Technologies, ADP, Medtronic, BlackRock, Thomson Reuters and the Mayo Clinic all currently run it on live marketing properties.

Who owns Eloqua?

Oracle. The company was founded in 1999 and Oracle acquired it in 2012 for roughly 871 million dollars. It is now sold as part of Oracle's customer experience suite and branded Oracle Eloqua. The product kept its original name through the acquisition, which is unusual for Oracle and explains why most buyers still simply call it Eloqua.

How do you detect Oracle Eloqua on a website?

We look for the tracking script and the browser state it creates: the Eloqua configuration script, asset requests to Eloqua's content domain, the ELOQUA cookie and a set of JavaScript variables the tracker defines. All of those only exist when a live page is executing Eloqua code, so a detection means the site is actively running it.

Which companies are the biggest Eloqua customers?

By employee count, Siemens, Oracle itself, Dell Technologies, ADP, Medtronic, AON, 3M, Broadcom, Eaton and Emerson lead our list. Industrial manufacturing and healthcare are the strongest verticals at the top of the table, and 48 of the top 50 detected companies employ more than 5,000 people, which is unusual for any marketing tool.

Eloqua vs Marketo: which has more customers?

Marketo is detected on 12,901 domains against Eloqua's 5,198, so Marketo is roughly two and a half times larger by install base. Eloqua is the more enterprise-weighted of the two, with 5.50% of its companies above 10,000 employees against Marketo's 3.38%. Both are detected by identical methods, so the comparison is like for like.

Do companies switch from Eloqua to HubSpot?

Yes, and it is the single largest flow we observe. Seventy-one domains dropped Eloqua and now run HubSpot, against 19 moving the other way. That is the standard enterprise-to-midmarket simplification move. A further 44 domains moved from Eloqua to Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement, usually as part of wider CRM consolidation onto one vendor.

Does Eloqua gain customers from Marketo?

It does, and this is the one flow that runs in Eloqua's favour. We recorded 31 domains adopting Eloqua after dropping Marketo, against 12 going the other direction. That is a net gain of 19 domains against its closest enterprise competitor, measured over the period we have been watching both products.

Why do so many small companies show up as Eloqua users?

Because the domain is not the buyer. Large organisations run Eloqua on separate campaign sites, event microsites and sub-brand properties, and each of those matches a small company record rather than the parent group. A single trade show or a university athletics site registers as a micro-business even though a large organisation pays the licence.

Why do sports websites use Eloqua?

Season tickets, memberships and donor programmes are long nurture cycles with large contact databases, which is exactly the workload Eloqua is designed for. We detect it across US collegiate athletics departments and professional franchises, including sites for the Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns and Arizona Cardinals, along with dozens of university teams and minor league baseball clubs.

What other software do Eloqua customers use?

Google Tag Manager appears on 86.62% of Eloqua domains and Google Analytics on 80.99%. The distinctive pairings are the enterprise ones: Adobe Experience Platform Launch on 14.37%, Adobe Analytics on 12.16% and Tealium on 9.22%. Privacy governance runs heavy too, with OneTrust on 30.50%, Transcend on 11.71% and TrustArc on 10.75% of domains.

Is Eloqua the biggest Oracle product on the web?

By our detection counts, yes. Eloqua is the most widely detected Oracle-owned product in our corpus, ahead of NetSuite, BlueKai, Oracle Infinity and Oracle Commerce. Two Java runtimes rank near it, but those indicate a server technology rather than a purchasing decision. Eloqua is the Oracle product whose install base maps cleanly onto identifiable enterprise buyers.

How many companies have stopped using Eloqua?

We have watched 1,018 domains drop Eloqua since we began tracking it in March 2026. Around 380 of those meet a stricter test, having been seen running Eloqua more than once before disappearing across several later checks. This figure covers recent observed churn only and is not a lifetime total of every past customer.

What do users complain about most in Eloqua reviews?

Cost and complexity, in that order. Reviewers describe a steep learning curve that leaves them dependent on an administrator for anything beyond a routine send, pricing that climbs once advanced modules are added, and an interface that feels dated next to newer rivals. The underlying capability is rarely questioned, which is typical for enterprise platforms.
