Companies Using Inspectlet
Our October 2026 crawl finds Inspectlet's session recording and heatmap script on 5,694 live sites, and 3,479 of them match a company record. Below is the list of companies that use Inspectlet, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes the University of Texas at Austin on its OnRamps site, the Australian bakery brand Bakers Delight and the Italian translation company Translated.
Inspectlet is a small player by footprint: #13 of the 34 tools we track in Heatmaps & Session Recording, with a 0.34% share. Its installs are spread thin rather than bundled. Where we could read the site ID in Inspectlet's script, 3,912 live domains belonged to 3,255 separate accounts, and the largest account covers 57 domains. Its customers also skew older than those of the five rivals in its table: just 11.57% were founded in the 2020s.

Inspectlet Usage Statistics
Our current crawl counts 4,760 Inspectlet sites in June 2026 and 5,694 in October 2026. Don't read that as adoption. Counts are not a like-for-like series over time: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. The 685-domain step into July reflects changes on our side, both the domains we cover and the signals we detect Inspectlet with, rather than a surge in adoption. Since then the line has barely moved: +82, +174, then -7.
Exits are easier to count. 946 domains have dropped Inspectlet since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, equal to 16.6% of the October count. When we rechecked on 13 October, 122 of them still loaded it on another hostname, so most of those 946 are real removals.
List of Companies Using Inspectlet
Our list of companies using Inspectlet covers 3,479 organisations matched from 5,694 detected domains, a 61.1% match rate. Every size, industry and country percentage on this page describes that matched set.
We opened each of the 50 named brands that use Inspectlet in October 2026 and confirmed Inspectlet's command queue or script on the page. Rows we couldn't confirm were replaced: several large sites, including Dale Carnegie's main site and G-Research, no longer load it, and others sit behind bot checks. Most websites using Inspectlet are a company's main domain, and almost every one has its own Inspectlet account: 2,893 of the 3,255 accounts we could read cover a single domain.

Which Countries Use Inspectlet the Most?
Which countries use Inspectlet the most? The United States leads with 1,347 matched companies, 38.7% of the 3,479 we matched, followed by the United Kingdom (342), Australia (272), India (204) and Canada (195). India is the one to notice: it holds 5.9% of matched Inspectlet companies, against 2.3% on Hotjar's profile and 2.5% on Mouseflow's. English-speaking markets (the US, UK, Australia, Canada and New Zealand) add up to 63.1%, based on our enriched company data.
Share of the 3,479 Inspectlet domains we matched to a company record — 61.1% of the 5,694 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Inspectlet Market Share Among Heatmaps & Session Recording
What is Inspectlet's market share? Inspectlet holds 0.34% of Heatmaps & Session Recording and ranks #13 of 34, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The category is top-heavy: Hotjar alone has 22.14% (371,111 domains after its own page removed domain-for-sale landers). The paid recorders closest to Inspectlet are three to five times its size, from Smartlook (19,234) to FullStory (26,974), so Inspectlet is a niche tool with a steady base rather than a contender for the top of the table.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Inspectlet Customers by Company Size & Age
Is Inspectlet only for small businesses? Mostly, yes. 52.13% of matched companies have 1-10 employees and 79.97% have 50 or fewer, based on 3,280 companies with a published size band. Only 53 have more than 1,000 staff. The larger names tend to run Inspectlet on one surface, such as the University of Texas on onramps.utexas.edu or Shell Energy on its business sign-up pages at pages.shellenergy.com.au.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (45.83%), then the 2000s (20.59%). Only 11.57% date from the 2020s, the lowest share among the five rivals in this page's table: Hotjar's profile shows 17.14%, Mouseflow's 14.36%, Smartlook's 16.02%, Lucky Orange's 22.46% and FullStory's 24.09%. Younger companies appear to pick other tools. The oldest names on the list include Leeds Arts University (1846) and the University of Texas (1883).
What Industries Use Inspectlet the Most?
Software Development leads at 6.57%, followed by IT Services and IT Consulting (5.28%), Retail (4.93%) and Advertising Services (4.45%). No industry passes 7%, and the ten charted here add up to 36.8% of matched companies, so Inspectlet is a horizontal tool bought by whoever owns the website, according to our enriched company data. Financial Services (2.97%) and Real Estate (2.24%) are the largest non-tech verticals.
Universities using Inspectlet are a visible cluster: the University of Texas, Universidad de Monterrey, Milwaukee School of Engineering and Leeds Arts University all load it. Financial services companies on Inspectlet include Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company and Itaú Paraguay, which runs it on its mortgage site. Retail brands using Inspectlet range from Bakers Delight to RSEA Safety, the Australian workwear chain, based on pages we opened in October 2026.
Inspectlet Alternatives & Competitors
Inspectlet's table lists five session recorders, all larger: Hotjar (22.14%), FullStory (1.61%), Lucky Orange (1.58%), Mouseflow (1.36%) and Smartlook (1.15%). On Inspectlet sites they are usually a second tool rather than a replacement. Hotjar runs today on 593 Inspectlet domains, Mouseflow on 90, Smartlook on 69, FullStory on 42 and Lucky Orange on 25, and none of those pairs passes our switching tests. Microsoft Clarity, the free tool that leads the wider category, isn't in this table.

Expert Analysis: Inspectlet Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I read Inspectlet detections the way a sales team would, asking what a hit says about the company behind the domain. As of our October 2026 crawl, TechnologyChecker.io finds Inspectlet on 5,694 live sites, and 3,479 of them match a company record, a 61.1% match rate. The short version: Inspectlet is a small, stable, older customer base, and almost every install is its own account.
What the signal catches
Our rule fires when a page creates Inspectlet's command queue (__insp), sets its loader flag, or loads a script from cdn.inspectlet.com. It's a clean test. On 30 random live domains, 24 of the 29 pages that loaded ran Inspectlet, one sat behind a bot check and four no longer loaded it. Our technology detection methods post explains how checks like this run in a browser.
Domains, accounts and fleets
Inspectlet puts a site ID in its script address, so we can count accounts as well as domains. On the 3,912 live domains where we could read it, we found 3,255 accounts, and 2,893 of them sit on a single domain. The largest covers 57 domains, a set of Australian self-storage sites. The title census turned up no parking or lander network: leaving aside pages whose title we couldn't read, the largest group of identical titles is 24 pages called "Home". Smaller clusters are one company's sites, such as a bookkeeping firm with 16.
Sales Signal: A list of Inspectlet domains is close to a list of accounts. Dedupe by root domain and you are talking to roughly one buyer per site, usually a founder or a marketing lead.
Growth trajectory
Our current crawl counts 4,760 Inspectlet sites in June 2026, 5,445 in July, 5,527 in August, 5,701 in September and 5,694 in October. Counts are not a like-for-like series over time: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. The July step reflects changes on our side, both the domains we cover and the signals we detect Inspectlet with, rather than a surge in adoption. Since July the line is flat.
Exits are measurable. 946 domains have dropped Inspectlet since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, 16.6% of the October count, and only 122 of them still load it on another hostname. Inspectlet's footer runs its copyright from 2011, and the age data fits a product that won its customers years ago: 45.83% were founded in the 2010s and only 11.57% in the 2020s.
"Inspectlet's base isn't shrinking fast, but it isn't being replenished either. Fewer than one in eight of its matched companies were founded this decade, the lowest share of any tool in its competitor table." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: Treat Inspectlet users as an installed base to win over, not a growth segment. These teams chose a recorder a while ago and may not have revisited it since.
The companies behind the domains
52.13% of matched companies with a size band have 1-10 employees and 79.97% have 50 or fewer. Only 53 have more than 1,000 staff. The named ones are a mixed group: the University of Texas at Austin on its OnRamps programme site, Shell Energy on its Australian business-energy pages, Manheim UK, Abu Dhabi National Insurance Company, Morocco's broadcaster SNRT and Penn Engineering's product catalogue. Universities stand out, with Universidad de Monterrey, Milwaukee School of Engineering and Leeds Arts University also on the list. Inspectlet's homepage quotes users' tweets rather than naming customer companies, so there's no vendor list to cross-check.
Sales Signal: At a large organisation, the Inspectlet owner is the team behind one site or programme. Start with that site's owner rather than central IT or marketing.
Industry and geographic concentration
Software Development (6.57%), IT Services (5.28%), Retail (4.93%) and Advertising Services (4.45%) lead, and the ten charted industries add up to only 36.8%. That is a horizontal base. Geography is more distinctive. The United States accounts for 1,347 of 3,479 matched companies (38.7%), with the United Kingdom (342), Australia (272) and India (204) next. India holds 5.9% of the matched base, more than twice its share on Hotjar's (2.3%) or Mouseflow's (2.5%) profiles, and Australia (7.8%) ranks third.
Sales Signal: For agencies and CRO consultancies in India and Australia, Inspectlet sites are a denser target list than their size suggests. Pair Inspectlet with country to find them.
Why there is no migration table
We tested switching corridors against every rival in the table and published none. Inspectlet usually shares the site with another recorder: Hotjar runs today on 593 Inspectlet domains (of 729 where we've ever seen both), Mouseflow on 90, Smartlook on 69, FullStory on 42 and Lucky Orange on 25. Every candidate corridor failed because most of those domains still run both. Recorders stack; a team tests one beside another, and the old tag stays.
"Session recorders pile up on a website. When 593 Inspectlet sites also run Hotjar, that's not a migration in progress, it's two tags nobody removed." - Mehmet Suleyman, CEO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales Signal: A site running Inspectlet and Hotjar together is paying for, or at least loading, two recorders. Consolidation is the pitch, whichever side you sell.
Technology ecosystem
Google Analytics runs on 88.78% of the 5,650 domains in our stack analysis and Google Tag Manager on 87.31%. WordPress is on 39.4% and Elementor on 11.08%, with Shopify (9.98%) and WooCommerce (8.07%) well behind, so these are mostly lead-generation and content sites, not stores. Consent tools are scattered: CookieYes on 4.27%, Cookie Control on 2.42% and Cookiebot on 2.23%, and no consent tool reaches 5%. For a base that records visitor sessions, that's thin.
Sales Signal: Consent-management vendors should look here. A session recorder on a site with no visible consent tool is a compliance conversation, especially for the UK, Australian and Indian sites in this base.
Key takeaways
- Inspectlet runs on 5,694 live sites, #13 of 34 in its category with a 0.34% share.
- Installs are independent: 3,255 accounts across 3,912 readable domains, the largest covering 57.
- The base is flat since July and older than its rivals', with 11.57% founded in the 2020s.
- India and Australia are over-represented compared with Hotjar's and Mouseflow's profiles.
- Hotjar runs alongside Inspectlet on 593 sites, so many of these teams already pay for, or test, a second recorder.
Sales applications
For targeting, filter Inspectlet on TechnologyChecker.io and keep companies founded before 2020 with 11-200 employees; that's the core of the paying base. For outreach to those running Hotjar too, an opener can be specific: "Your site loads both Inspectlet and Hotjar. Do you still need both recorders?" For competitive work, watch the 946 exits since March. Most are full removals, and a site that drops Inspectlet without adding a rival is still a prospect for whoever sells session replay next.

Inspectlet's plans page lists a free plan, then Micro at $39 a month, Startup at $79, Growth at $149 and Accelerate at $299, with annual billing saving 15%. The paid plans differ mainly in session replays per month (10,000 up to 125,000), websites and storage. Enterprise plans run from $499 to $1,799 a month, with custom quotes above that.
Is Inspectlet free?
There is a free plan with no time limit. Inspectlet's plan table lists 5,000 session replays a month, 3 websites and 1 month of storage, including session replay, heatmaps and A/B testing; the FAQ on the same page still says 2,500 sessions, so check at sign-up. Funnels, multi-user access and API access start on paid plans.
What are some cheaper alternatives to Inspectlet?
Microsoft Clarity is the obvious one: its site bills it as free heatmaps and session recordings. Inspectlet's own free plan may also be enough for a small site. If cost is the issue, check for overlap first. In our crawl, 593 Inspectlet sites also run Hotjar, so some teams are loading two recorders and could drop one.
What does Inspectlet do?
Inspectlet records visitor sessions so you can replay them, and builds click, scroll and eye-tracking heatmaps. Its homepage also lists form analytics, A/B testing with a visual editor, feedback surveys, JavaScript error logging, live view and newer AI features that score sessions and answer questions in plain English. It installs as one script loaded from cdn.inspectlet.com.
Is Inspectlet better than Hotjar?
It depends on what you need. Inspectlet includes A/B testing even on its free plan and adds form analytics from the $149 Growth plan, while Hotjar is far more widely deployed, on 371,111 domains against Inspectlet's 5,694 in our crawl. Many teams don't choose: Hotjar runs today on 593 Inspectlet domains, so the two often record the same site.
How does TechnologyChecker.io detect Inspectlet?
Our crawler loads each page in a browser and looks for Inspectlet's command queue (the __insp global), its loader flag, or a script loaded from cdn.inspectlet.com. On 30 random live domains, 24 of the 29 pages that loaded ran Inspectlet, each with its own site ID; one sat behind a bot check and four no longer loaded it.
