Companies Using CanvasJS
Our October 2026 crawl finds CanvasJS on 1,947 live domains once we set aside the sites that only carry it for a WordPress stats plugin; before that cut the library shows on 8,241. Below is the list of companies that use CanvasJS, with size, country, industry and stack. We count websites carrying the code, not licence holders. The list includes Vonovia on its partner portal, Jackson Lewis on its workthruIT site, Tower Semiconductor on its customer portal and Portugal's statistics office, INE.
The Visitor Traffic Real Time Statistics plugin loads whatever build CanvasJS's CDN serves on every public page, to draw a chart only admins see. So we removed the 6,292 domains whose latest reading matched the CDN's current build on the day we read it. That rule also drops any real chart that happened to run the current build, and it can't catch plugin pages that report no version. In what remains, MinistryPlatform's church widgets carry CanvasJS onto at least 121 domains (6.2%). CanvasJS ranks 17th of 55 in Charting & Data Visualization on this count, with 0.41%.

CanvasJS Usage Statistics
Our usage chart for CanvasJS has a single point, 1,947 domains in October 2026. The cleaned count removes domains by their latest CanvasJS reading, so we can't rebuild it for earlier months, and a raw monthly line would mostly track a WordPress plugin rather than CanvasJS users. On the raw basis, 2,151 domains have dropped CanvasJS on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, and when we checked, 174 of those still ran it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use CanvasJS the Most?
Which countries use CanvasJS the most? The United States, with 302 matched companies, then India (146), Australia (94), Brazil (58), Germany (40) and the United Kingdom (30). The US holds 27.2% of the 1,110 companies we matched. Australia's third place owes something to a family of estate-agent WordPress themes that ship CanvasJS in an assets/canvas folder, and India's list includes three financial firms on the same 2.3.2 build: Bajaj Capital, Arihant Capital and Paisalo Digital.
Share of the 1,110 CanvasJS domains we matched to a company record — 57.0% of the 1,947 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
CanvasJS Market Share Among Charting & Data Visualization
What is CanvasJS's market share? On the cleaned count, 0.41% of Charting & Data Visualization, 17th of the 55 tools we track there, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. Chart.js leads with 323,384 domains (67.38%), about 166 times CanvasJS's 1,947. Highcharts (25,341) and ApexCharts (23,328) are each about 12 times its size, and Google Charts (5,814) about three times. The share leaves out sites that load CanvasJS only for a WordPress plugin's admin chart.

CanvasJS Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use CanvasJS? Mostly small ones. 49.67% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 26.36% have 11 to 50, so 76.03% have 50 or fewer. 37 have more than 1,000 staff, and they usually serve their own copy on a portal or investor page: Vonovia's partner portal, Tower Semiconductor's customer portal and Chambal Fertilisers' investor site.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (36.41%), then the 2000s (15.63%) and the 2020s (11.9%). 36.06% were founded before 2000, and 52 companies (9.24%) before 1960. Older firms often run old code too. Borges International Group, founded in 1896, loads CanvasJS 1.8.0 from its WordPress theme, and Jackson Lewis, founded in 1958, runs version 2.2 on its workthruIT site.
What Industries Use CanvasJS the Most?
Religious Institutions lead at 10.07%, then Real Estate (9.16%) and Financial Services (8.04%), based on our enriched company data, and nothing else reaches 4%. Those three hold 27.27% of matched companies, and the top ten 44.87%. The churches are a platform effect: MinistryPlatform, church software, bundles CanvasJS 3.6.3 in its widget script, and we logged that script on 121 of the 1,947 domains.
Financial services companies using CanvasJS include Bajaj Capital and Arihant Capital, whose investment sites both load version 2.3.2 from an /app/ folder, and Cerberus Capital Management. Real estate companies using CanvasJS include Vonovia on its partner portal and Oberoi Realty, and the Public Trustee of Queensland runs it on its real-estate services site. Churches using CanvasJS include Celebration Church in Jacksonville and Bethlehem Baptist Church, both through MinistryPlatform's widgets.
CanvasJS Alternatives & Competitors
These libraries mostly share sites rather than take them from each other. Across all CanvasJS domains, before the plugin cut, 464 also run Chart.js today, and of the 574 ever seen with both, 80.8% still run both. Highcharts shares 73 domains, ApexCharts 46 and amCharts 38, and no pair passes our switching tests. The licences differ more than the footprints. Chart.js is free for anyone under the MIT licence, while CanvasJS sells perpetual licences from $299 and gives free ones to students and to personal, non-commercial projects.

How We Counted CanvasJS Sites
A domain counts here if a page on it defines the CanvasJS chart object or loads a script from cdn.canvasjs.com. In our October 2026 crawl that matches 8,241 live domains, and most of them aren't CanvasJS users in any useful sense. The WordPress plugin Visitor Traffic Real Time Statistics, by wp-buy, loads cdn.canvasjs.com/canvasjs.min.js on every public page to draw a small visitor chart that only logged-in administrators see. In a random sample of 169 domains whose page code showed the library, 116 (68.6%) loaded it this way, and none of the 33 plugin pages we opened in a browser drew a chart.
That CDN file always serves the newest release, so a plugin site's version reading is whatever was current on the day we read it. We first removed only domains whose latest reading was a 3.17.x build, the series current since 24 August 2026. That missed plugin sites read earlier: about 360 live domains had last been read on a 3.15 or 3.16 build before that date, and in a sample of them, 10 of the 12 whose page code showed the library loaded it through the plugin. So the rule now removes a domain when its latest reading is the CDN series that was current on the day of that reading: 3.17.x at any time, 3.16.x read before 3.17 first appeared in our crawl (24 August 2026), and 3.15.x read before 3.16 first appeared (8 June 2026). That removed 6,292 domains, plus 11 whose page title marks them as for sale or gambling. Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 1,947. Because the rule works on each domain's latest reading, the usage chart has one point.
Two errors remain, in opposite directions. Any site whose copy matched the current CDN build when we read it is removed, including sites that use that build for real charts and self-hosted copies that happened to be current, so some deliberate users are missing. And plugin pages that report no version reading stay in. The largest single carrier in the remaining set is MinistryPlatform, church software whose widget script bundles CanvasJS 3.6.3; we logged it on 121 of the 1,947 domains (6.2%). On the home pages of the five MinistryPlatform churches on our list, no chart appeared; two of them place only MinistryPlatform's log-in widget there.
Expert Analysis: CanvasJS Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

CanvasJS is a paid chart library, so I expected its list to read like a list of buyers. The raw count doesn't. Our October 2026 crawl finds the library on 8,241 live domains, but most of them carry it for a WordPress stats plugin, not for charts of their own. Once we take those out, 1,947 domains remain, and 1,110 of them match a company record. That cleaned figure is the one this page uses. I loaded the 50 companies on our list in a browser, opened 50 random CanvasJS domains, and read the page code of 206 others to see who put the library there.
What the raw count is made of
Visitor Traffic Real Time Statistics, by wp-buy, lists 30,000+ active installations on wordpress.org. Its code enqueues cdn.canvasjs.com/canvasjs.min.js on every public page, then uses it for a small visitor chart in the admin bar that only site administrators see. In the page code of 206 random live CanvasJS domains, 169 showed the library and 116 of those (68.6%) loaded it through this plugin. None of the 33 plugin pages I opened drew a chart. The CDN file is always the newest release, so a plugin site reports whatever build was current on the day we read it. A first cut on the current 3.17.x series missed about 360 plugin sites we'd last read on 3.15 or 3.16 builds (10 of the 12 readable ones in a sample loaded the plugin), so the rule now removes any domain whose latest reading matched the series current on that day: 6,292 domains, plus 11 for-sale or gambling sites.
Two errors remain. Real charts that happened to run the current build are removed with the plugin sites, and plugin pages that report no version stay in. The largest carrier left is MinistryPlatform, church software whose widget script bundles CanvasJS 3.6.3, which we logged on 121 of the 1,947 domains (6.2%). On the five MinistryPlatform churches on our list, no chart appeared on the home page.
Sales signal: a raw CanvasJS list is mostly noise. Filter out any site whose page code carries the plugin's canvasjs-free-js tag, then treat MinistryPlatform churches as a separate list; they bought church software, not a chart library.
What the versions say
We can't chart the cleaned count back through time, because the cut works on each domain's latest reading, so the usage chart has a single October point. Versions are more telling. Among live domains in the clean set, 694 run a 1.x build and 510 a 2.x build, 1,204 between them, or 61.8% of the 1,947. On our named list it's starker: of the 31 companies that serve their own copy and report a version, 24 are on 1.x or 2.x. On the raw basis, 2,151 domains have dropped CanvasJS on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, and when we checked, 174 still ran it on another hostname.
"On a CanvasJS list, the version number is the most useful column. The current release usually means the WordPress plugin. A 1.x or 2.x build usually means a team that wrote charts into its own app and left them there." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: those 1,204 old builds are a modernisation conversation for any chart vendor, and an upgrade conversation for CanvasJS itself.
The companies behind the domains
49.67% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 76.03% have 50 or fewer. It's an older base than you'd guess for a JavaScript library: 36.06% were founded before 2000. Our list of 50 leans larger. We confirmed CanvasJS on 39 of them: 34 serve their own copy, usually behind a log-in, and five churches get it through MinistryPlatform. The own copies include Vonovia's partner portal (version 1.7.0), Tower Semiconductor's customer portal (3.12.8), Jackson Lewis's workthruIT site (2.2), Freeport-McMoRan's corporate site (1.9.9) and the investor site of Chambal Fertilisers (1.8.0).
Sales signal: at a large company, the CanvasJS owner is the team behind a portal or reporting page. Look for log-in pages, investor sites and dashboards on the detection URL, and talk to that application's owner, not the marketing team.
Industry and geography
Three industries stand out. Religious Institutions lead at 10.07%, Real Estate follows at 9.16% and Financial Services at 8.04%; nothing else reaches 4%. The churches are MinistryPlatform. Real estate is partly a family of Australian estate-agent WordPress themes that ship CanvasJS from the same assets/canvas folder, which helps put Australia third among countries with 94 matched companies, behind the United States (302) and India (146). India's entries include three financial firms on the same 2.3.2 build: Bajaj Capital, Arihant Capital and Paisalo Digital.
Sales signal: the financial-services slice is the most valuable one here. Customer portals at Indian brokers and lenders still run a 2.x build, a major version behind, which is an opening for anyone selling front-end rebuilds.
Overlap with other chart libraries
There's no migration table, because no pair passes our switching tests. Across all CanvasJS domains, before the plugin cut, 464 also run Chart.js today, and of the 574 ever seen with both, 80.8% still run both. Highcharts shares 73 domains, ApexCharts 46 and amCharts 38. Chart.js is on 323,384 domains in our category table, about 166 times CanvasJS's cleaned count.
"Sites that run CanvasJS and Chart.js together tend to keep both. Four in five still do, so a second chart library usually means a second project, not a planned switch." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a site with two chart libraries has two codebases to maintain. That's the consolidation pitch, for whichever library you sell.
The stack around it
Across the 1,947 domains in our clean live set, Bootstrap runs on 63.17% and jQuery on 95.89%, while WordPress is down to 39.19% once the plugin sites are gone. Joomla and Drupal each pass 1%. Google Analytics is on 55.42% and Pendo on 3.75%. GoDaddy hosts 14.54% and Hostinger 4.01%. That's the stack of hand-built portals and older PHP sites as much as WordPress blogs.
Sales signal: pitch to developers and IT teams, not site owners. A Bootstrap and jQuery stack with an old chart library is a rebuild candidate.
Licence and pricing
CanvasJS is sold by Fenopix, Inc. Its licence page, checked on 13 October 2026, lists perpetual chart licences from $299 for one non-SaaS website to $1,999 for unlimited developers, each with a year of updates. Its FAQ gives free licences to students and to individuals for personal, non-commercial projects, not to companies or government bodies. The build on its CDN says in its header that it can be used for evaluation for up to 30 days without a commercial licence. CanvasJS's home page sells speed: 100,000 data points rendered in a few hundred milliseconds.
Sales signal: trial and free builds show a CanvasJS.com credit link on every chart, and the commercial build removes it. A visible credit on a company's charts tells you which build they run.
Key takeaways
- 1,947 live domains after removing the stats plugin's loads, 0.41% of the category and 17th of 55; 8,241 before the cut.
- About two-thirds of sampled raw CanvasJS sites load it only for one WordPress plugin's admin chart.
- The cleaned base runs old code: 1,204 domains on 1.x or 2.x builds.
- Churches (MinistryPlatform), Australian estate agents (one theme family) and Indian financial firms are the visible clusters.
- CanvasJS rarely replaces Chart.js; 464 domains run both.
Sales applications
Outreach template: "Your partner portal still loads CanvasJS 1.7.0. Is anyone maintaining those charts, or is a rebuild on the list for next year?"
Targeting: on TechnologyChecker.io, filter CanvasJS companies to more than 200 employees and to Financial Services or Real Estate, then check the detection URL for a log-in or portal page.
Competitive angle: start with sites that run CanvasJS and Chart.js together, and with 1.x and 2.x builds.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses CanvasJS?
Mostly teams that built charts into their own sites and apps, once you set aside a WordPress stats plugin that loads it for an admin-only chart. Our October 2026 crawl counts 1,947 such domains. Named users include Vonovia on its partner portal, Jackson Lewis on its workthruIT site, Tower Semiconductor on its customer portal and Portugal's statistics office, INE.
How many customers does CanvasJS have?
We count 1,947 live domains in October 2026, after removing 6,292 whose CanvasJS build matched the CDN's current one when we read them, the build a WordPress stats plugin loads, and 11 for-sale or gambling sites. 1,110 match a company. Before that cut the library shows on 8,241 domains. These are sites carrying the code, not licence holders.

We removed the 6,292 domains whose build matched the CDN's current one when we read them; before the cut, the library shows on 8,241 domains.

Which is better, SVG or Canvas?
Neither wins outright. Canvas, which CanvasJS uses, draws a chart as pixels, so it copes well with thousands of data points, but each bar or line isn't a page element you can style or inspect. SVG libraries create an element for every mark, which is easier to style and make accessible but slows down with very large data sets. Choose by data size and accessibility needs.

They solve the same problem under different licences. Chart.js is free under the MIT licence; CanvasJS needs a paid licence for commercial use, from $299 per its licence page. Plenty of sites keep both: before the plugin cut, 464 domains run the pair today, and 80.8% of the 574 ever seen with both still do.

Open the browser console and type CanvasJS.Chart.version; a site running it returns a version string such as v3.17.7 GA. In the page source, look for canvasjs.min.js, often loaded from cdn.canvasjs.com. A script tagged canvasjs-free-js points to the Visitor Traffic Real Time Statistics plugin. Trial and free builds add a CanvasJS.com credit link to each chart; the commercial build removes it.
