Companies Using Perfmatters

I run the crawler behind these numbers. For Perfmatters, a domain counts when a page loads a script from one of the plugin's folders under /wp-content/: its plugin folder, its cache folder or its uploads folder. Our October 2026 crawl finds 39,150 live domains, 24,349 of them matched to a company, 8th of 45 in Performance Optimization.

We loaded all 90 candidate company pages in mid-October 2026, and 75 loaded Perfmatters' scripts. Of those, 68 loaded its lazy-load script, 47 carried its delayed-JavaScript markers, 31 served minified files from its cache folder, 16 hosted their Google Fonts locally through it and 8 served a trimmed "used CSS" stylesheet.

Lazy loading makes it visible

Perfmatters does a lot without writing a script file. The Script Manager removes scripts rather than adding one, delayed JavaScript is handled by code inside the page, and the quick toggles that switch off things like Google Fonts or WooCommerce cart fragments leave nothing behind. Remove Unused CSS writes a stylesheet, which a script rule ignores. On 42 of the 75 pages, the lazy-load script was the only Perfmatters script, so those sites would vanish from our count if they turned lazy loading off. Perfmatters' pricing page says it's trusted by 185,000+ websites; our 39,150 is a floor for live domains, and the two figures measure different things.

Sales signal: a Perfmatters site has a paid licence and someone who reads PageSpeed reports. That's a better-qualified performance prospect than a free-plugin site.

Reading the chart

The chart reads 30,802 in June, 36,469 in July, 37,403 in August, 38,783 in September and 39,150 in October. Most of the June to July step is ours: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection widens over time. Since we began tracking Perfmatters on 16 March 2026, 7,594 domains have dropped it; a few days later, about one in eight of those still ran it on another hostname.

Sales signal: about 39,000 live domains of paying users. Licences renew yearly, so the renewal date is when a competing plugin or host can win them.

An American, English-speaking base

The United States has 9,670 matched companies, about 4.5 times the United Kingdom's 2,148. Australia (1,192) and Canada (922) are in the top eight, and the four English-speaking markets hold 13,932. Germany has 989. That's the reverse of the free plugins: Germany is ahead of the US on WP Fastest Cache and second on Autoptimize. The industries have their own tilt. Construction leads at 4.57%, but Wellness and Fitness Services (3.47%) and Insurance (3.11%) both make the top four, and neither is in the top ten on the free plugins' profiles.

Sales signal: sell to Perfmatters users in English and in dollars. Insurance agencies, fitness businesses and home-services contractors are the verticals to name in the pitch.

Who runs it

60.99% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees and 26.07% have 11 to 50, a little less micro than the free plugins. 40.63% were founded in the 2010s and 15.64% in the 2020s. Of the 208 companies above 1,000 staff, BCD Travel, ACI Worldwide, Save A Lot and Minerva Foods run Perfmatters on their main sites. Some owners run it across many domains: a roofing and basement contractor's 35 local sites, an Image360 sign-franchise cluster of 30 and a window-replacement franchisee's 24.

Sales signal: franchise and multi-location brands run Perfmatters across dozens of domains. Group their domains by owner before you count accounts.

Faster hosting around it

These percentages are of the 39,184 clean live Perfmatters domains. Cloudflare fronts 58.61%, against 24.78% on Autoptimize's domains and 17.14% on WP Fastest Cache's. Kinsta runs on 6.97% and WP Engine on 5.71%. In our company sample, 14 of the 71 pages that loaded Perfmatters for a plain request sent WP Engine's header. Builders lean newer too: Bricks is on 5.97% and GenerateBlocks on 4.44%, next to Elementor's 34.63%. Perfmatters' about page says co-founder Brian Jackson was previously CMO at Kinsta, and its site says it's powered by Kinsta and GeneratePress.

Sales signal: most Perfmatters sites already sit behind a CDN, and a visible minority pay for managed hosting. Pitch the next layer, such as image delivery or monitoring, not the basics.

An add-on to a page cache

No pair passes our switching tests. 399 domains run Perfmatters and WP Fastest Cache today (592 ever), 256 run it with Autoptimize (400 ever) and 107 with ShortPixel (133 ever). In each pair, 64% or more of the domains ever seen with both still run both.

Sales signal: a caching product can sell into Perfmatters sites without displacing it. Mention that the two work together.

What it costs

Perfmatters' pricing (checked October 2026) is $29.95 a year for one site, $59.95 for three and $124.95 for unlimited sites, with 15% off renewals and a 30-day money-back guarantee. There's no free plan. WP Rocket, also paid, works the caching side; its profile counts 733,891 domains in Caching in August 2026.

Sales signal: $29.95 a year is cheap enough that the buyer is the site owner or their freelancer, not procurement. Keep the offer self-serve.
