Companies Using Commanders Act TagCommander

Our October 2026 crawl finds Commanders Act's TagCommander on 2,675 live domains, and the list reads like a French enterprise directory. Below are the companies that use Commanders Act TagCommander, with AXA, EDF, Danone, La Banque Postale, Bouygues Telecom and the French armed forces' recruitment sites among them, plus their size, country, industry and stack.

The count leaves out two large groups: 3,258 Yellow Pages Canada client sites built on Wix, which carry YP's TagCommander-style data layer but load no container, and 937 Ubisoft game and franchise domains that forward to Ubisoft and load its one setup. TagCommander ranks 10th of the 17 tools we track in Tag Management, with 0.02% of the category, and Google Tag Manager runs on 58.4% of the same domains, so TagCommander usually sits beside GTM.

Commanders Act TagCommander Usage Statistics

Our chart has one reading so far: 2,675 domains on 1 October 2026, after the removals described in How We Counted. Earlier monthly totals moved with our crawl's coverage and a change in what we captured in August, and the domains we crawl turn over every month, dead sites out and new ones in, so we don't read a trend from them. 842 domains dropped TagCommander on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, but when we checked, 515 of them still ran it on another hostname, so most of those exits are one hostname dropping it while another keeps it.

List of Companies Using Commanders Act TagCommander

Who uses Commanders Act TagCommander? This list of companies that use Commanders Act TagCommander names 50 of the 1,175 matched companies. We opened each in October 2026, and 41 loaded a TagCommander container in our browser. Of the other nine, eight blocked us or failed to load, and Europcar showed the data layer only. We left out rows whose container belongs to someone else: Ryanair's and Air New Zealand's hotel-booking sites load one shared travel-partner container (site 5931) that also serves TD, CIBC and Delta, and cora-france.fr now forwards to Carrefour.

How We Counted Commanders Act TagCommander Customers

A domain counts here if a page on it defines tc_vars, TagCommander's data layer, or loads a script from tagcommander.com or from e-i.com, the servers Euro-Information, Crédit Mutuel's technology subsidiary, uses to serve its group's and CIC's containers. The tc_vars test catches sites that host the container on their own domain, as EDF and MAIF do, but it also catches any page that copies the data-layer name.

We started from 6,873 live domains and removed 4,198:

  • 3,258 Yellow Pages Canada client sites built on Wix. Their pages define tc_vars with YP's own fields (pg_listing, udac, parentasset_id) but load no TagCommander container, and the businesses have no account of their own. Of seven we opened, six carried YP's tc_vars and none loaded a container.
  • 937 Ubisoft game, film and franchise domains, such as Rayman, Rabbids and Splinter Cell names, that forward to Ubisoft pages and load Ubisoft's one TagCommander setup from ubistatic2-a.ubisoft.com. That's one customer counted hundreds of times, so we kept ubisoft.com and removed the rest.
  • 3 with a domain-for-sale page title.

Every chart and table on this page uses the remaining 2,675. About 18 YP-built sites on other builders are still in it. To test the rest, we opened 45 randomly chosen clean domains in a browser in October 2026. 32 loaded and 13 blocked us or failed. Of the 32, 26 loaded a TagCommander container with its numbered site ID, 2 loaded TagCommander code from their group's own servers without exposing a container, and 4 had tc_vars but no container, either a leftover or a container held back until consent. 12 of the 32 forwarded to another domain, so read the count as domains, not companies. Expedia Group is the largest remaining account holder, with about 100 domains across its own brands, Vrbo hosts' domains that forward to their listings, and partner travel sites that share one site ID.

Expert Analysis: Commanders Act TagCommander Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Sophie Clarke
Sophie ClarkeProduct Marketing Manager, TechnologyChecker

I look at tag managers from the go-to-market side: who buys them, who governs them and what makes a team change. Commanders Act's TagCommander is an unusual case, because its raw signal overstates it twice over. Our October 2026 crawl finds its marker on 6,873 live domains; after removing two groups that aren't separate customers, 2,675 remain, 1,175 of them matched to a company. What's left is a list of established organisations, led by French ones.

Two groups that aren't customers

The first is Yellow Pages Canada. 3,258 client sites it builds on Wix define tc_vars, TagCommander's data-layer name, with YP's own fields, but load no container. The second is Ubisoft. 937 game, film and franchise domains, Assassin's Creed, Rayman, Rabbids and Splinter Cell variants among them, forward to Ubisoft pages and load Ubisoft's one TagCommander setup from its static servers. Ubisoft is a real customer, so ubisoft.com stays in; the rest is one buyer counted hundreds of times. The usage chart has a single October reading. Earlier months moved with our crawl's coverage and an August capture change, and the domains we crawl turn over monthly, so there's no growth story to tell yet.

"Strip out a directory's website template and one publisher's franchise domains, and TagCommander is a 2,675-domain list led by French insurers, banks, utilities and public bodies." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: count companies, not domains. The largest remaining account holder, Expedia Group, has about 100 domains across its own brands, Vrbo hosts' domains and partner travel sites.

An established, enterprise base

19.92% of matched companies have more than 1,000 staff, 213 companies, while 31.52% have 1 to 10. The founding years lean old: 21.69% from the 2000s, 17.97% from the 1990s and 14.58% from before 1960, against 4.75% from the 2020s. The named customers fit: AXA, EDF, Danone, La Banque Postale, RATP Group, MAIF and CNP Assurances, each loading its own container with its own site ID. Commanders Act's company page claims more than 500 customers and 10,000 users across its platform. Set against 2,675 domains, that fits large organisations running several sites each, as Somfy, Eiffage and Boiron do with their country and division sites.

Sales signal: TagCommander buyers have data-governance and consent obligations big enough to pay for a managed tag platform. Lead with compliance and control, not with ease of use.

Industries and countries

Insurance (6.27%), banking (5.79%) and financial services (5.21%) add up to 17.27% of matched companies, and retail (5.6%) and real estate (4.92%) follow, with construction (3.09%) and hospitality (2.8%) further down. Broadcast media at 4.34% is the surprise: France Télévisions runs it, and so does SRG SSR's Radio Swiss Classic. Banking has a quirk worth knowing. Crédit Mutuel's technology subsidiary, Euro-Information, serves TagCommander containers for the group and for CIC from its own e-i.com servers, so one IT company decides for 89 domains in our clean set. Geographically it's France first, with 493 matched companies, then Germany (107), the United States (80) and Canada (75).

Sales signal: work French-language and DACH territories first. The US list includes European groups' local sites, such as OVHcloud's and Somfy's.

Google Tag Manager runs alongside it

There's no switching table on this page because no pair passed our tests: most domains seen with TagCommander and a rival still run both. 1,562 of the 2,675 clean domains (58.4%) also run Google Tag Manager, while only 28 share a domain with Adobe Experience Platform Launch and 8 with Matomo Tag Manager. Exits are smaller than the raw number suggests. 842 domains dropped TagCommander on at least one hostname since we began tracking it on 16 March 2026, but when we checked, 515 of them still ran it on another hostname.

"Close to six in ten TagCommander sites also run Google Tag Manager. The decision in front of these teams is usually how much to keep in each, not which one to rip out." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io

Sales signal: for GTM-centred services, including hosts of server-side Google Tag Manager such as Stape, these are dual-stack sites already. For Commanders Act's rivals, the opening is the 4 in 32 sampled pages that keep tc_vars but load no container.

What the stack says

Commanders Act's own consent tool, TrustCommander, runs on 44.26% of clean domains, far ahead of OneTrust (11.29%) and Didomi (10.17%), so close to half of TagCommander sites buy the consent banner from the same vendor. Google Analytics sits on 44.45% and Piano Analytics on 18.09%. The CMS rows are enterprise too: Drupal (10.24%) and Adobe Experience Manager (7.07%) both edge out WordPress (6.92%), and Salesforce Commerce Cloud (4.56%) leads the store platforms.

Sales signal: a site running TagCommander and TrustCommander is a Commanders Act platform account; one running TagCommander with OneTrust or Didomi has already split its vendors, and that's the easier conversation for a competitor.

Key takeaways

  1. 2,675 live domains, after removing 3,258 Yellow Pages Canada sites that copy the tc_vars name and 937 Ubisoft franchise domains.
  2. The base is French, large and old: 19.92% of matched companies have 1,000-plus staff and 14.58% were founded before 1960.
  3. Commanders Act sells the consent banner with the tag: TrustCommander runs on 44.26% of TagCommander domains.
  4. Google Tag Manager runs alongside on 58.4% of domains, and no switching pattern passed our tests.

How I'd use this list

Targeting: start with the 50 named companies, 41 of which loaded a container in our browser, then filter the full list to French, German and Swiss insurers, banks and utilities. Exclude domains on the shared travel-partner container.

Outreach: "Your sites run Commanders Act's TagCommander, and most sites like yours also run Google Tag Manager. If you're reviewing what sits in each container, here's what we see across 2,675 TagCommander domains."

Competitive angle: sites with tc_vars but no container, and sites pairing TagCommander with a rival consent manager, are the ones whose platform commitment is weakest.

The full list of TagCommander domains, with company data for 1,175 of them, is on TechnologyChecker.io.

Named users we checked include AXA, EDF, Danone, La Banque Postale, Bouygues Telecom, RATP Group and France Travail, each loading its own TagCommander container.

How many customers does Commanders Act TagCommander have?

Commanders Act says more than 500 customers and 10,000 users work with its platform, which covers more than tag management. Our October 2026 crawl finds TagCommander on 2,675 live domains, 1,175 matched to a company. We removed 3,258 Yellow Pages Canada sites with no container and 937 Ubisoft franchise domains that all share Ubisoft's one setup.

What is Commanders Act TagCommander's market share?

0.02% of Tag Management, 10th of the 17 tools we track there, on 2,675 domains. Google Tag Manager holds 97.74% of the category, so share is the wrong yardstick for an enterprise tag manager. Against its paid peers TagCommander is smaller: Adobe Experience Platform Launch counts 70,918 domains and Tealium 31,858, both raw totals without our cleaning.

What are the best alternatives to Commanders Act TagCommander?

Google Tag Manager is the free default, and 58.4% of TagCommander domains already run it. For a governed enterprise container, the usual alternatives are Tealium, Adobe Experience Platform Launch and Ensighten, while Matomo Tag Manager suits teams that want to self-host. Overlap with those is small: 28 TagCommander domains also run Adobe's tag manager and 8 run Matomo's.

Which countries use Commanders Act TagCommander the most?

France, with 493 matched companies, more than four times Germany's 107. Then come the United States (80), Canada (75), Italy (41) and the United Kingdom (32), with the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain and Belgium next. The list reflects Commanders Act's home market and its banking, insurance and public-sector customers. These counts cover the 1,175 domains we matched to a company.

What size companies use Commanders Act TagCommander?

Smaller companies lead by count, but the top end is heavy. 31.52% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees and 18.99% have 11 to 50, while 19.92% have more than 1,000 staff: 213 companies including AXA, EDF, Danone and RATP Group. That large-company group matters most to sellers, because enterprise tag managers are bought by teams with several sites to govern.

How old are companies that use Commanders Act TagCommander?

Mostly established ones. Among matched companies with a founding year, 21.69% were founded in the 2000s, 21.02% in the 2010s and 17.97% in the 1990s, while 14.58% date from before 1960. Only 4.75% were founded in the 2020s. The older group includes Knight Frank (1896), Danone (1919) and EDF (1946), alongside insurers, banks and public bodies.

What is TagCommander?

TagCommander is the tag management system from Commanders Act, a company founded in the early 2010s under the TagCommander name. A site loads a container, a version-controlled JavaScript file holding tags, rules and triggers, which fires analytics and advertising tags in the browser. Commanders Act now sells it inside its wider data platform, and files the older manual as "TagCommander (deprecated)".

What is tc_vars?

tc_vars is TagCommander's data layer: a JavaScript object a site fills with page and visitor details, such as page name or language, for the container's tags to read. Commanders Act's setup guide for its Vue.js wrapper starts by declaring tc_vars. Our detection reads it, which is why we checked: of 32 clean pages we opened, 4 had tc_vars without any TagCommander container.

Is TagCommander deprecated?

The old documentation is, not the tag. Commanders Act's community site files the TagCommander manual under "TagCommander (deprecated)" and documents the same container as a Web container in its current platform. The script still loads from cdn.tagcommander.com, and 26 of the 32 random clean pages we opened in October 2026 loaded a working container.

Do websites use TagCommander and Google Tag Manager together?

Often, yes. When we checked, 1,562 of the 2,675 clean TagCommander domains (58.4%) also ran Google Tag Manager. GTM is free and close to Google's ad products, while Commanders Act adds server-side tracking and its own consent tool. Our switching tests found no clear movement between the two, because most sites seen with both still run both.

How much does Commanders Act cost?

Commanders Act doesn't publish prices. Its pricing page is password-protected and the site sends buyers to a demo, so contracts are quoted. Our data suggests who pays: 19.92% of matched TagCommander companies have more than 1,000 staff, and insurance, banking and financial services make up 17.27% of the base. Checked 14 October 2026.

Is Commanders Act the same company as TagCommander?

Yes. Commanders Act's company page says it was founded at the start of the 2010s under the name TagCommander, then added a customer data platform and a consent manager. It lists the investor XAnge and says it bought the marketing analytics platform Adloop in October 2023. The TagCommander name survives mainly in script addresses and documentation.

Why do Yellow Pages Canada websites contain TagCommander code?

Yellow Pages Canada builds client websites on Wix with its own tc_vars data layer, carrying YP fields such as pg_listing and udac. In our checks those pages loaded no TagCommander container, so the businesses aren't Commanders Act customers. We removed 3,258 of them from this page's count. About 18 YP-built sites on other builders remain in it.

What is a container in TagCommander?

A container is the JavaScript file TagCommander loads on each page. It holds the tags, the rules that decide when each one fires and the triggers, and it's version-controlled, so a team can roll a change back. Most sites load it from cdn.tagcommander.com under a numbered site ID, while Ubisoft, EDF and MAIF serve theirs from their own domains.
