Companies Using A8.net
Our October 2026 crawl finds A8.net on 7,693 live domains, and unlike most networks we track, it shows up on both sides of the deal. Advertisers load A8.net's sales tag to record conversions; publishers carry its banners and text links to earn commission. In a random sample of 70 A8.net domains we opened in a browser, 35 showed publisher banners or links and 25 the advertiser tag. Below is the list of companies that use A8.net, with size, country, industry and stack. Because bloggers rarely match a company, it is mostly advertisers: freee, JVCKENWOOD's online store, TV Asahi, JR Central, Yakult and KOSÉ.
A8.net ranks 11th of 96 technologies in Affiliate & Referral with 2.43%. The headline includes about 495 dead STORES shop pages that still carry STORES' own A8.net tag; the charts below leave them out and use 7,339 domains. Japan is 356 of the 465 matched companies in the top 15 countries.

Which Countries Use A8.net the Most?
Which countries use A8.net the most? Japan, with 356 matched companies, 76.6% of the 465 in the top 15 countries. The United States is a distant second with 62, then the United Kingdom (9), Spain (6), Singapore and China (5 each). The foreign names are mostly companies selling into Japan, such as Immerse, Bossjob and QEEQ. These counts cover the 511 A8.net domains we matched to a company, a small share because Japanese bloggers rarely have a company record.
Share of the 511 A8.net domains we matched to a company record — 6.6% of the 7,693 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
A8.net Market Share Among Affiliate & Referral
What is A8.net's market share? 2.43% of Affiliate & Referral, 11th of the 96 technologies we track there, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. It sits just behind ValueCommerce (7,850 domains, 2.48%), its main Japanese rival. Moshimo (32,601) is far ahead on paper, but most of that count is a WordPress theme's prefetch hint, not Moshimo links. A8.net's 7,693 also includes about 495 dead STORES shop pages.
Top Competitors by Market Share
A8.net Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use A8.net? A mix, with more mid-size firms than most affiliate tools. 36.89% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 25.06% have 11 to 50 and 23.2% have 51 to 200. 23 list more than 1,000 staff, 5.34% of the sized base, among them JR Central, JVCKENWOOD, Kitamura, TV Asahi, Yakult and KOSÉ. That's the advertiser side showing through.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
The largest group of matched companies was founded in the 2010s (37.12%), then the 2000s (24.02%). Only 6.11% date from the 2020s, and 32.75% were founded before 2000, an older base than most affiliate tools. The old names are Japanese brands: Kitamura (1934), KOSÉ (1946), TV Asahi (1957) and Aderans (1968) all load A8.net's sales tag.
What Industries Use A8.net the Most?
IT Services and IT Consulting leads at 8.6%, then Retail (8.31%), Technology, Information and Internet (4.87%) and Facilities Services (4.87%), based on our enriched company data. That Facilities label is partly a LinkedIn quirk: Sakura Internet, Yahoo Japan and Club Tourism all carry it. Read the list as services sold online, such as software, schools, recruitment and travel, rather than shops alone.
Software companies using A8.net include freee, Smaregi and SourceNext, each paying publishers for sign-ups. Education and coaching companies on A8.net are a cluster of their own: PROGRIT, atama plus, Global Step Academy and Berkeley House. Consumer brands using A8.net run it on their own shops, such as KOSÉ's Maison KOSÉ and Yakult's cosmetics store.
A8.net Alternatives & Competitors
The table mixes counting methods. ValueCommerce (7,850 domains, 2.48%) is A8.net's closest Japanese rival, and 995 domains run both today. Moshimo (32,601) shares 1,744 domains with A8.net, but most of its own count is the Cocoon theme's prefetch hint for Moshimo's image server. AWIN (24,883) is counted from brands' tags and Skimlinks (5,786) from publishers' scripts, mostly outside Japan, so neither competes for the same sites.
A8.net Customer Migration
Tech Stack of A8.net-Powered Websites
These percentages are of the 7,339 live A8.net domains left after removing for-sale, gambling and dead STORES pages. WordPress runs on 63.76%, Hatena Blog on 0.86%. Google AdSense is on 38.08% and Twitter Ads on 23.61%, with Japanese ad tools close behind: Yahoo Advertising 16.23% and Intimate Merger 11.36%. Quantcast Measure shows on 18.56%; on Moshimo's domains we traced that same signal to the Cocoon theme's prefetch list, so read it as Cocoon blogs, not Quantcast customers. Yahoo! JAPAN Tag is on 2.44%.

A8.net Customer Reviews with Pros and Cons
Across all 15 ITreview reviews we read in October 2026, eleven from affiliates and four from advertisers, A8.net wins on breadth and a low barrier to entry. The friction sits in the tooling around that scale: six reviewers want better reports or search, and four object to payout transfer fees. The affiliate-heavy sample echoes our browser check, where 35 of 70 A8.net domains carried publisher banners or links and 25 the advertiser tag.
Generated from real user reviews on ITreview
- Newcomers value the low barrier to entry, with open sign-up, many programs needing no approval and self-back cashback on their own purchases.(8 reviews)
- Affiliates credit A8.net with a wide choice of programs across genres, from beauty and health to online services, so most sites find a fit.(7 reviews)
- Reviewers on both sides find the dashboard intuitive and lightweight, with clear reports for checking clicks and conversions.(7 reviews)
- Account managers earn credit for guiding advertisers through setup and bringing affiliates offers or special commission rates.(5 reviews)
- Advertisers value the large affiliate network, which brings partner applications without much recruiting effort on their side.(4 reviews)
- Reviewers want better reports and program search, citing a long-running beta report view, confusing monthly totals and coarse filters.(6 reviews)
- Bank transfer fees on every payout annoy affiliates, and one also finds the payment cycle slow.(4 reviews)
- Advertisers find monthly and commission fees high, which raises the break-even point for smaller merchants.(2 reviews)
- Advertisers report low-quality affiliate sites and prank orders, including thin, mass-produced sites whose applications need manual review.(2 reviews)
How We Counted A8.net Domains
A domain counts here on any of three signals: a script from statics.a8.net or one of the JavaScript objects of A8.net's sales tag, which advertisers install, or an image served from an a8.net host, which is how publishers' banners and text links load. So the count holds both advertisers and publishers. In a random sample of 70 live A8.net domains opened in a browser, 35 carried publisher banners or links, 25 the advertiser tag (one site had both), 4 were dead STORES shop pages, and the rest wouldn't load or showed neither. Our request logs lean the other way, 2,853 domains calling statics.a8.net against 670 calling banner hosts, because many banner images load lazily and never fire during a crawl.
Our crawl found 7,850 live domains. Before computing the charts we removed 16 for-sale or gambling pages and 495 dead STORES shop pages. STORES is a Japanese shop builder, and every closed shop on its platform returns the same "404 Page Not Found" page, which still loads STORES' own A8.net sales tag. Those 495 domains are one advertiser's tag on one template, not 495 customers. The remaining 7,339 are the base for the company, country, industry, size and stack figures. The 7,693 headline is the figure our category table uses and still includes them. One more cluster is small enough to leave in: 38 domains show Parallels' page title, such as switchtomac.org, one advertiser's aliases.
Expert Analysis: A8.net Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I expected A8.net to look like a Japanese AWIN when I pulled it from our October 2026 crawl: brands running a network's tag. It turned out to be both sides at once. A domain counts when it loads A8.net's sales tag from statics.a8.net, which advertisers install to record conversions, or shows an image from an a8.net host, which is how publishers' banners and links load. The total is 7,693 live domains, 511 matched to a company, 11th of 96 in Affiliate & Referral. FAN Communications runs it, per A8.net's English about page, which lists 27,420 advertisers and 3,736,646 publishers.
Half advertisers, half bloggers
I opened a random sample of 70 A8.net domains in a browser. 35 carried publisher banners or links, 25 the advertiser sales tag, one had both, and 4 were dead STORES shop pages. Our request logs point the other way, 2,853 domains calling statics.a8.net against 670 calling banner hosts, because banner images often load lazily and never fire while we crawl. So the count is split, with publishers slightly ahead. The company list isn't: bloggers rarely match a company record, so 38 of the 50 companies we checked showed the advertiser tag.
Two clusters are one company each. 495 dead STORES shop pages load STORES' own A8.net tag on a shared 404 template, and we left them out of every chart. 38 domains show Parallels' page title, such as switchtomac.org, one advertiser's aliases.
Sales signal: an A8.net detection on a company domain is almost always an advertiser paying for performance marketing in Japan. On a personal blog it's a publisher. Split the list before you write a single email.
Steady after the summer
The chart reads 5,818 in June, 7,150 in July, 7,415 in August, 7,470 in September and 7,693 in October. The June to July step is mostly our side: the domains we crawl turn over every month, with dead sites leaving and new ones arriving, and our detection signals widen. From July to October the line rises 543 domains. Since March 2026, 846 domains have dropped A8.net, and about 70 of them still run it on another hostname.
"A8.net is the rare network where the advertiser and the blogger show up in the same count. Treat them as two lists." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: a stable base of about 7,700 domains. The advertiser roster is the useful part, so spend your time there.
The advertisers are established Japanese brands
Among matched companies with a known size, 36.89% have 1 to 10 employees, 25.06% have 11 to 50 and 23.2% have 51 to 200. 23 list more than 1,000 staff, and they're household names: JR Central on its e-mono shopping site, JVCKENWOOD on its online store, TV Asahi on its video service, Yakult on its cosmetics shop, Kitamura on its photobook service, and KOSÉ. Age points the same way, with 32.75% founded before 2000. Many big advertisers run the tag on one site rather than the corporate domain, because that's where the sale happens. They pay for the privilege: A8.net's fee page lists a ¥50,000 set-up fee, ¥40,000 to ¥50,000 a month and a 30% commission on every publisher payout, while publishers join free, per its FAQ.
Sales signal: A8.net advertisers already pay for every sign-up and sale. Conversion tracking, landing-page and attribution tools fit, and the buyer is a performance-marketing team, not IT.
Japan first, and services more than shops
Japan is 356 of the 465 matched companies in the top 15 countries, 76.6%. The United States has 62, and most foreign names sell into Japan, such as Immerse, Bossjob and QEEQ. IT Services and IT Consulting leads the industries at 8.6%, then Retail at 8.31%. Software, education and recruitment fill the list: freee, Smaregi and SourceNext; PROGRIT, atama plus and Global Step Academy; AXIS Agent and Remedy. The Facilities Services row (4.87%) is a labelling quirk; Sakura Internet, Yahoo Japan and Club Tourism carry it.
Sales signal: pitch A8.net advertisers on lead quality and sign-up economics. Subscription software, schools and recruiters pay per lead, and they care about cancellations.
Two networks on one site
We don't publish switching rows for A8.net; none pass our tests. Japanese affiliate sites stack networks. 1,744 domains run A8.net and Moshimo today, out of 1,975 ever seen with both, and 995 run A8.net and ValueCommerce, out of 1,134. Bloggers join several networks to carry the same advertiser at the best rate, and advertisers often list with more than one.
"In Japan nobody leaves A8.net for ValueCommerce. They add the second network and keep the first." - Sophie Clarke, Product Marketing Manager at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: multi-network publishers need link management and reporting across ASPs. That's the gap in this stack.
The stack: WordPress blogs and Japanese ad tools
Across the 7,339 domains we kept, WordPress runs on 63.76%, Google Tag Manager on 82.4% and Google Analytics on 83.57%. AdSense is on 38.08% and Twitter Ads on 23.61%, with Japanese ad tools behind them: Yahoo Advertising 16.23%, Intimate Merger 11.36% and the Yahoo! JAPAN Tag 2.44%. Quantcast Measure shows on 18.56%. On Moshimo's domains we traced that signal to the Cocoon theme's prefetch list, so it marks Cocoon blogs, the publisher half. Microsoft Advertising is on 10.55%.
Sales signal: advertisers here buy search and social ads alongside affiliate. Cross-channel attribution has an audience.

Sales applications
Outreach template: "Your site runs A8.net's sales tag, so you already pay publishers per sign-up. We help Japanese performance teams cut the cancellations that eat into that spend."
Targeting: on TechnologyChecker.io, filter A8.net domains to companies with more than 50 staff in Japan; that leaves advertisers. Filter to WordPress sites without a company match for publishers.
Competitive angle: the 995 domains on both A8.net and ValueCommerce are comparing networks already, the natural audience for multi-network tracking.
