Companies Using GovX ID

GovX ID is one of the cleaner rules in our October 2026 crawl. A domain counts when a page loads a script from id-shop.govx.com, the script tag GovX's Shopify app adds to a store. That gives 6,640 live domains, 2,742 of them matched to a company, 9th of 54 in Identity & Access (SSO/CIAM). I checked the page source of the 50 named stores and all 50 carried the tag. On the product pages of six of them, loaded from outside the US, the script ran on four.

A Shopify app, and nothing else

Every GovX ID domain in our stack base runs Shopify, 6,538 of 6,538. That's how GovX ID is sold. Its Shopify App Store listing, checked 13 October 2026, says it verifies shoppers in seconds and creates single-use discount codes natively in the store, and it has a 4.9 rating from 302 reviews. Nothing inflates the count. The largest owners we matched run two domains each, and the most common shared page title covers under 1% of domains.

Sales signal: a GovX ID list is a list of working Shopify merchants that already run a discount programme for a defined audience. Shopify app developers and agencies can use it as a qualified merchant list.

Three months of data, and a churn figure to ignore

The chart has three points: 4,689 in August, 6,069 in September and 6,640 in October. We began tracking GovX ID on 4 August 2026, so August is a partial reading and part of the rise since is our detection filling in. The crawled domain set also turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones are added. I wouldn't call the 42% rise adoption growth. The drop count needs more care. Our records show 1,099 domains losing GovX ID on at least one hostname since August, but when I re-checked 16 domains that had lost it everywhere, 15 of the 15 that loaded still carried the GovX ID script. Nine of them now redirect to another domain.

Sales signal: don't build a "recently dropped GovX ID" campaign from our churn records. The stores I checked are still there and still run the app.

Who the customers are

59.92% of matched companies have 1 to 10 employees and 29.64% have 11 to 50. Only 11 have more than 1,000 staff, among them Life Fitness, Dreame and BLUETTI. The recognisable names sit in the middle: Allbirds, KEEN, Stanley 1913 and Benchmade each list 201 to 500 staff. Age points the same way. 68.13% were founded in 2010 or later, which makes this a list of Shopify-era direct-to-consumer brands with a few heritage makers mixed in, such as Candle-lite (1840) and Lucchese (1883).

Sales signal: the buyer is usually a founder or an e-commerce manager. Pitch the way they bought GovX ID, as an app they can install without a project.

American by design

The United States holds 2,562 matched companies, 95.56%, with Canada at 41 and the United Kingdom at 22. The product explains it. GovX verifies US affiliations, and its help centre lists seven groups: military, military families, law enforcement, fire, medical services, government employees and education. Industry follows the audience. Retail (13.39%), retail apparel (12.07%), manufacturing (10.08%), sporting goods manufacturing (9.95%) and wellness and fitness (7.05%) make up 52.54% of matched companies, with gear makers such as Avon Protection, Benchmade, Eagle Creek and Blackstone among them.

Sales signal: anyone selling into GovX ID stores is selling to US brands with a service-community customer base. Outdoor, tactical, fitness and apparel brands are the core by industry share, so lead with examples from those.

Running both

No switching flow passes our tests. 60 domains run GovX ID and VerifyPass together today, out of 68 ever seen with both, so stores add the second app rather than swap. Six run GovX ID with GoCertify. In its niche the lead is wide: 6,640 domains against VerifyPass's 1,080, GoCertify's 571 and SheerID's 368. ID.me also verifies shoppers for discounts, but it isn't a technology we detect on store pages.

Sales signal: a rival verification app sells into this list as an addition, not a replacement. Expect the conversation to be about which groups or checkout steps the second app covers.

The stack around it

Shop Pay is on 91.36% of GovX ID domains, Apple Pay on 91.73% and PayPal on 80.06%. Klaviyo runs on 55.72% and Klaviyo Reviews on 50.78%, with Judge.me (36.92%), Yotpo Reviews (11.87%), Loox (6.93%) and Okendo (6.81%) behind. Instafeed, an Instagram feed app, is on 19.2%. These stores spend on email, reviews and social proof, and they run one-tap checkout almost everywhere.

Sales signal: Klaviyo agencies and reviews-app sellers can use GovX ID as a filter for stores that already run segmented offers. A verified military discount is an audience segment waiting for an email flow.

What it costs

The Shopify listing says GovX ID is free to install, with commission charges only if a store opts into the GOVX Marketplace and is accepted. For shoppers, GovX says the ID is free to register. Codes are single-use, unique to the store, start with "GX" and are limited to one every 24 hours per customer, according to GovX's help centre. GovX says more than 12 million members use GOVX ID.

Sales signal: because the app is free, there's no budget line to displace. Sellers of paid alternatives need a feature argument, not a price one.
