Companies Using Yahoo ConnectID
Our October 2026 crawl finds Yahoo ConnectID's script on 5,550 live domains. ConnectID is Yahoo Inc.'s identifier for buying ads without third-party cookies; it has nothing to do with Yahoo! JAPAN, which is a separate company. On all 101 pages where we traced the request, Google Ad Manager's own ad tag loaded the script, which is what happens when a publisher, or the ad partner running its ads, switches ConnectID on as a Secure Signal. Below is the list of companies that use Yahoo ConnectID, mostly news and media sites such as Hindustan Times, UOL, The Sun, Quartz and Chile's TVN.
It ranks 9th in our Visitor Identification category with 1.68%, although it recognises people for ad buyers rather than naming companies for a sales team. Newspaper Publishing is the largest industry at 20.81%, and 43.9% of matched companies have ten or fewer staff. Our charts leave out 432 publisher sites whose ads Playwire runs under its own Ad Manager account (7.95% of the live set), because on those sites the ConnectID switch is Playwire's, not the publisher's.

Yahoo ConnectID Usage Statistics
Yahoo ConnectID reads 3,141 domains in August 2026, 4,800 in September and 5,550 in October. Don't read that as a rush of sign-ups. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with dead sites dropping out and newly found ones added, and our detection signals widen over time. ConnectID also moves in blocks, because one setting in an Ad Manager account turns it on or off for every site that account serves. Since we began tracking it on 4 August 2026, 3,251 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname; a re-check found 849 of them still loading it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use Yahoo ConnectID the Most?
Which countries use Yahoo ConnectID the most? The United States, with 917 of the 2,082 matched companies (44.04%), then Brazil (140), India (131), the United Kingdom (106), Spain (74) and Canada (52). Spanish- and Portuguese-language media fill much of the rest: Mexico has 42, Argentina 26 and Colombia 21, and the named sites include TVN and Chilevisión in Chile and Latina and América TV in Peru, based on our enriched company data.
Share of the 2,082 Yahoo ConnectID domains we matched to a company record — 37.5% of the 5,550 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Yahoo ConnectID Market Share Among Visitor Identification
What is Yahoo ConnectID's market share? 1.68% of Visitor Identification, 9th in the category, based on our live crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The share sets unlike products side by side. FingerprintJS (24.6%) identifies browsers, and ZoomInfo (11.73%) and Leadinfo (7.42%) name the companies behind B2B website visits. ConnectID gives ad platforms such as Yahoo DSP a way to recognise a reader, so a site turns it on for ad revenue, not for sales leads.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Yahoo ConnectID Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Yahoo ConnectID? Mostly small ones. 43.9% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 24.76% have 11 to 50 and 17.2% have 51 to 200, so 85.86% have 200 or fewer. Only 56 companies have more than 1,000 staff. Some small sites get ConnectID through an ad partner's account, such as Setupad's or AdPushup's; the 432 sites under Playwire's account aren't in these figures.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
How old are companies that use Yahoo ConnectID? The 2010s lead with 28.5%, but 25.54% were founded before 1960, the second-largest group, against 6.44% in the 2020s. That pre-1960 block is mostly newspapers and broadcasters selling their own ad space, such as the Hindustan Times (1924), Amar Ujala (1948) and Brazil's Jovem Pan (1944). The Australian Football League (1896) is on the list too.
What Industries Use Yahoo ConnectID the Most?
Newspaper Publishing leads at 20.81%, then Broadcast Media Production and Distribution (10.04%) and Book and Periodical Publishing (9.87%), with Online Audio and Video Media (6.17%) and Media Production (5.44%) further down. Those five media labels add up to 52.33% of matched companies with an industry, based on our enriched company data at TechnologyChecker.io. Spectator Sports adds 4.54%: leagues and clubs that sell ads on their own sites.
Newspapers using Yahoo ConnectID include the Hindustan Times, Amar Ujala, Mexico's El Universal and El Economista. Broadcasters on Yahoo ConnectID include TVN and Chilevisión in Chile, Latina and América TV in Peru, and News 12 in New York. Sports organisations using Yahoo ConnectID include the Australian Football League on afl.com.au, and in our random sample, the Adelaide Crows.
Yahoo ConnectID Alternatives & Competitors
The rivals in this table answer a different question. FingerprintJS shares 294 domains with ConnectID today (557 have run both at some point), ZoomInfo 17 and Leadfeeder 3. ConnectID's real rivals sit on the same pages. ID5 runs on 90.27% of ConnectID domains and Criteo on 94.68%, and on the pages we opened Ad Manager injected identity scripts from Criteo, ID5, OpenX, RTB House and Intimate Merger next to Yahoo's. Publishers stack these signals; few run only one.

How We Counted Yahoo ConnectID Sites
A domain counts here if a page on it loads a script from connectid.analytics.yahoo.com. On all 101 pages where we traced the request, Google Ad Manager's ad tag injected that script, connectId-gpt.js, which is what Ad Manager's Secure Signals auto-deployment does once an account enables Yahoo ConnectID. So the decision sits with whoever owns the Ad Manager account. The script also carries one fixed pixel ID, 58813, on every site, so it can't tell publishers apart.
The headline, 5,550 domains, is our category count and includes every site that loads the script. The charts and tables use a narrower set. Of 5,444 live domains, we removed 8 with for-sale or gambling page titles, then 432 publisher sites whose ads Playwire runs under its own Ad Manager network, 7.95% of the remaining 5,436. All seven Playwire sites we opened ran ConnectID that way, so on those sites the customer is Playwire, not the publisher. That leaves 5,004 domains, and 2,082 of them match a company.
Other ad partners stay in, each under 5% of the live set: Setupad's scripts appear on 171 domains, Ezoic's on 152 and AdPushup's on 78. Gannett stays in too. Its scripts are on 316 domains, but those are its own local newspapers on its own Ad Manager network, so we treat Gannett as one buyer rather than 316.
Expert Analysis: Yahoo ConnectID Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

I expected Yahoo ConnectID to look like the rest of Visitor Identification: a script a marketing team chooses and pastes into its site. Our October 2026 crawl says otherwise. A domain counts here when a page loads a script from connectid.analytics.yahoo.com, and that gives 5,550 live domains, 9th in the category with 1.68%; 2,082 of the domains we chart match a company. Then I opened the pages. On all 101 where we traced the request, Google Ad Manager's own ad tag injected the file, connectId-gpt.js. Nobody pasted it in.
How it gets onto a page
Yahoo's help centre describes a Google Secure Signals route: a publisher opens Inventory, then Secure Signals, in Ad Manager, enables Yahoo ConnectID and lets Google auto-deploy the collection script. That is the pattern we see. Every one of the 101 script tags carried Google's esp-signal attribute, and the file has a single pixel ID built in, 58813, so the same ID appears on every site. Prebid, the other common route, barely shows: on 15 pages where we could read Prebid's user IDs, none listed ConnectID.
Sales signal: the buyer for anything ConnectID touches is whoever runs the Ad Manager account, usually ad operations or a monetisation partner. The web or marketing team may not know the script is there.
Who flips the switch
Because the setting lives in Ad Manager, one account can turn ConnectID on across many sites. Playwire is the biggest case: 432 publisher sites (7.95% of the live set) run their ads under Playwire's network, and all seven I checked, from typingtest.now to bigissue.com, loaded ConnectID that way. Playwire runs those ads but doesn't own the sites, so we leave them out of every chart on this page. Gannett is next, with Gannett-hosted scripts on 316 domains (5.8% of the live set), but those are its own local papers under its own account, so they stay in as one buyer. Other monetisation partners' scripts sit on smaller groups: Setupad on 171 domains, Ezoic on 152 and AdPushup on 78, and the Setupad and AdPushup sites in our sample ran ads under the partner's network too. One Ad Manager network served Carpenter Media Group's papers in both the US and Canada.
Sales signal: dedupe this list by Ad Manager network before you count accounts. Playwire's 432 sites were one decision made once, and Gannett's papers are one buyer.
Growth that comes in blocks
The chart reads 3,141 domains in August 2026, 4,800 in September and 5,550 in October. Part of that is us: the set of domains we crawl turns over every month as dead sites drop out and new ones come in, and our detection signals widen over time. Part is the product. A toggle in one account can add or remove hundreds of sites in a day, so churn is high too. Since 4 August 2026, 3,251 domains have dropped ConnectID on at least one hostname, and a re-check found 849 of them still loading it elsewhere on the same site.
"Most identity products are chosen site by site. Yahoo ConnectID is chosen account by account, and a single ad partner's switch covers hundreds of domains." - Elif Arslan, CMO and co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat month-to-month changes in this count as account decisions, not a trend line. A drop of several hundred domains usually means one partner changed a setting.
Who the publishers are
The size data is small-site heavy: 43.9% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, and 85.86% have 200 or fewer. Only 56 have more than 1,000 staff. The age data pulls the other way. 25.54% were founded before 1960, the second-largest group after the 2010s (28.5%), because legacy newspapers and broadcasters are here in numbers: the Hindustan Times (1924), Amar Ujala (1948), Brazil's Jovem Pan (1944). Named sites include UOL, The Sun, Quartz, India Today's college rankings, Aaj Tak, Mic and the Australian Football League.
Sales signal: there are two lists inside this one. Old newspaper groups with their own ad teams can be sold to directly. The long tail of small sites is better reached through the partners that monetise them.
News first, and not only in the US
Five media labels, Newspaper Publishing (20.81%), Broadcast Media (10.04%), Book and Periodical Publishing (9.87%), Online Audio and Video Media (6.17%) and Media Production (5.44%), add up to 52.33% of matched companies with an industry. Spectator Sports adds 4.54%. The United States has 917 of the 2,082 matched companies (44.04%), then Brazil (140), India (131) and the United Kingdom (106). Spanish- and Portuguese-language media are a real cluster: TVN and Chilevisión in Chile, Latina and América TV in Peru, El Universal and El Economista in Mexico.
Sales signal: vendors selling to publishers in Latin America and India will find a ready list of news groups already running Ad Manager with Secure Signals. They already buy yield and identity tools.
The identity stack around it
Percentages here are of the 5,004 clean domains, without Playwire's sites. Google's ad tag is on 99.64%, Criteo on 94.68%, ID5 on 90.27%, PubMatic on 77.92% and Intimate Merger on 58.61%. On the pages I opened, Ad Manager injected identity scripts from Criteo, ID5, OpenX, RTB House and Intimate Merger the same way it injected Yahoo's. Consent is mostly Google's too: Funding Choices runs on 56.43% and OneTrust on 11.65%. The table's named rivals barely overlap. FingerprintJS shares 294 domains with ConnectID today, ZoomInfo 17 and Leadfeeder 3.
"Publishers don't pick one identity signal. ID5 is on 90.27% of ConnectID domains, and the same Ad Manager screen switches all of them on." - Elif Arslan, CMO and co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: an identity vendor competing with Yahoo here is asking for one more toggle, not a replacement. Pitch incremental match rate in Safari and Firefox, and show the ad operations team the revenue per signal.
What it costs
Yahoo publishes no price. Its help centre says ConnectID needs a new contract or an addendum to an existing one, that third-party integrations are sometimes covered by an umbrella contract, and that Next-Gen Audiences in Yahoo DSP switches on within 48 hours of integration. That umbrella clause fits the Playwire pattern in our data.
Sales signal: when a site runs ConnectID under a partner's account, the commercial relationship is the partner's. Talk to the partner.
Key takeaways
1. 5,550 domains in October 2026, 9th in Visitor Identification with 1.68%, but an ad identifier, not a B2B visitor tool.
2. All 101 traced loads came from Google Ad Manager's Secure Signals auto-deployment.
3. Playwire's account covers 432 publisher sites (7.95%), left out of our charts; Gannett's own papers (316) stay in as one buyer.
4. Media labels make up 52.33% of matched companies; 43.9% have ten or fewer staff.
5. Identity signals stack: ID5 on 90.27% and Criteo on 94.68% of ConnectID domains.
How to use this list
Group domains by Ad Manager network and by owner first, then filter by country and industry. Our guide to technology detection methods explains why a script injected by another script still counts as detected. Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Yahoo ConnectID?
News and media publishers, mostly. Our October 2026 crawl finds Yahoo ConnectID on 5,550 domains, including the Hindustan Times, UOL, The Sun, Quartz, India Today's college rankings and the Australian Football League. Five media industry labels cover 52.33% of matched companies. Some small sites get it through an ad partner, such as Setupad, rather than signing up themselves.
How many customers does Yahoo ConnectID have?
We count domains, not contracts. Our October 2026 crawl finds the ConnectID script on 5,550 domains. Customers are fewer: one Ad Manager account can switch it on for many sites, and Playwire's covers 432 publisher sites, which our charts leave out. Of the rest, 2,082 match a company. Since 4 August 2026, 3,251 domains have dropped it on at least one hostname.
What is Yahoo ConnectID's market share?
1.68% of Visitor Identification, 9th in the category, on 5,550 domains in our October 2026 crawl. The category mixes different jobs. FingerprintJS (24.6%) identifies browsers, and ZoomInfo (11.73%) and Leadinfo (7.42%) name companies visiting B2B sites. ConnectID is an ad identifier for publishers, so its fair comparison is with ID5 and Criteo, which run beside it.
What are the best alternatives to Yahoo ConnectID?
Other identity signals a publisher can pass to ad buyers. On ConnectID domains, ID5 runs on 90.27% and Criteo on 94.68%, and Ad Manager loaded scripts from OpenX, RTB House, PubMatic and Intimate Merger beside Yahoo's on the pages we opened. LiveRamp's RampID is another; Yahoo resolves ConnectID into it through LiveRamp's ATS. Most publishers run several of these together.
Which countries use Yahoo ConnectID the most?
The United States, with 917 of the 2,082 matched companies (44.04%), then Brazil (140), India (131), the United Kingdom (106), Spain (74) and Canada (52). Latin American media are well represented: Mexico has 42, Argentina 26 and Colombia 21, and named broadcasters include TVN and Chilevisión in Chile and Latina and América TV in Peru.
What size companies use Yahoo ConnectID?
Small ones, mostly. Of 1,959 matched companies with a known size, 43.9% have 1 to 10 employees, 24.76% have 11 to 50 and 17.2% have 51 to 200. Only 56 have more than 1,000 staff. That fits how ConnectID spreads: small publishers often hand their ads to a partner whose Ad Manager account turns it on.
How old are companies that use Yahoo ConnectID?

What is Yahoo ConnectID?
Yahoo ConnectID is Yahoo Inc.'s identity solution for advertising without third-party cookies. Yahoo's help centre says it is built on the Yahoo Identity Graph and lets ad tech platforms recognise and match users across the open web. Verizon Media launched it on 1 December 2020; Verizon Media is now Yahoo. Publishers use it so ad buyers can target readers in Safari and Firefox.
How do websites add Yahoo ConnectID?
Yahoo's help centre lists Prebid, a JavaScript module, server to server, Google Secure Signals, LiveRamp ATS and Amazon CxM. On the sites we crawl, one route dominates. On all 101 pages where we traced the request, Google Ad Manager's ad tag injected connectId-gpt.js, which is the Secure Signals auto-deployment. The publisher, or its ad partner, flips one toggle in Ad Manager.
Does Yahoo ConnectID work with Prebid?
Yes. Prebid.js has a ConnectID user ID module, and Yahoo documents it as one integration method; it needs a Yahoo-supplied pixel ID. We don't see it much in practice. On 15 pages where we could read Prebid's user IDs, none listed ConnectID, while all 101 pages that loaded the script got it through Google Ad Manager instead.
How much does Yahoo ConnectID cost?
Yahoo doesn't publish a price. Its help centre says using ConnectID requires a new contract or an addendum to an existing one, and that integrations through a third party are sometimes covered by an umbrella contract. That second case matches our crawl: on sites monetised by Playwire, ConnectID runs under Playwire's Ad Manager account, not the publisher's own.
Is Yahoo ConnectID part of Yahoo! JAPAN?
No. ConnectID belongs to Yahoo Inc., the US company, and was launched by Verizon Media in December 2020. Yahoo! JAPAN is run by LY Corporation in Japan, which licenses the Yahoo brand there. Our data shows the split: ConnectID's matched companies are led by the United States, and Japan isn't in its top 15 countries.
Does Yahoo ConnectID use email addresses?
It can. Yahoo's Secure Signals guide asks publishers to store SHA-256 hashed, lowercased email addresses in a yahooId cookie, which the ConnectID script reads; without one, it relies on first-party cookies it creates itself. The JavaScript module guide says a raw email is hashed and never stored. Users can opt out through Yahoo's ConnectID control portal.
Who decides to turn on Yahoo ConnectID, the website or its ad partner?
Whoever controls the Ad Manager account. For a publisher that runs its own, such as Gannett on its local papers, it's the publisher. For sites monetised by Playwire it's Playwire: 7 of 7 Playwire sites we checked ran ads under Playwire's network and loaded ConnectID. That covers 432 publisher sites, which our charts leave out.
