Companies Using Impel
Our October 2026 crawl finds Impel on 3,386 live domains, and nearly all of them are vehicle dealers: franchised car stores, used-car lots, RV and powersports dealers, plus a few boat and equipment sellers. Impel was called SpinCar until March 2022. Its merchandising product still makes 360-degree spins and video of each vehicle, and the company now sells AI chat and sales agents too. Below is the list of companies that use Impel, with size, country, industry and stack. It includes Herb Chambers, Hoffman Auto Group, Bert Ogden Auto Group and Bretz RV & Marine.
Our catalog files Impel under Photo Galleries, 8th of 29 with 0.22%, because a spin is a gallery of one car. The rest of that table is WordPress sliders and photographer platforms, so the share says little. For a seller the platform matters more: of the 2,560 Impel domains where we logged third-party requests, 949 call Dealer.com's servers and 571 DealerOn's.

Impel Usage Statistics
Impel reads 1,971 domains in August 2026, 3,118 in September and 3,386 in October. We began tracking it on 4 August, so the chart has three points, and the August to September jump is mostly on our side. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with closed sites dropping out and new ones found, and our detection widened in that period. Exits we can count: 551 domains dropped Impel on at least one hostname since 4 August, and 253 of those still run it on another hostname.

Which Countries Use Impel the Most?
Which countries use Impel the most? The United States, with 2,049 matched companies, 81.6% of the 2,511 with a known country. Canada has 227, Australia 157 and the United Kingdom 39, so with New Zealand's 5 the English-speaking markets make up 98.65%. Mexico (13) and Colombia (4) include franchise stores such as Nissan Torres Corzo in Aguascalientes and Autoamérica, a Toyota dealer in Medellín.
Share of the 2,530 Impel domains we matched to a company record — 74.7% of the 3,386 we detect. Top 15 countries shown, so these do not sum to 100%. Domains with no matching company record are not represented here and skew small and independent.
Impel Market Share Among Photo Galleries
What is Impel's market share? 0.22% of Photo Galleries, 8th of the 29 technologies we track there, based on our crawl at TechnologyChecker.io. The category doesn't describe Impel. Slider Revolution leads with 1,306,433 domains and 85.99%, and the rest of the table is WordPress gallery plugins and photographer platforms such as Zenfolio (3,195), which Impel passes by 191 domains. Its real rivals sell software to dealers and sit in other categories.
Top Competitors by Market Share
Impel Customers by Company Size & Age
What size companies use Impel? Small and mid-sized dealers. 39.46% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 32.45% have 11 to 50 and 23.19% have 51 to 200, so 95.1% have 200 or fewer. A single franchised store employs dozens of people, which is why the 51 to 200 band holds almost a quarter. The 119 companies above 200 staff are dealer groups such as Herb Chambers, LaFontaine Automotive Group and Hoffman Auto Group.
Company Size Distribution
Company Age (Founded Decade)
52.09% of matched companies with a known founding year date from before 1990, adding pre-1960 (15.92%), the 1960s (10.05%), the 1970s (10.97%) and the 1980s (15.15%). The 2010s are the largest single decade at 18.24%, and only 5.72% were founded in the 2020s. Family dealer groups dominate, and the oldest names on our list include Dimmitt (1924) and Riggs Cat (1927), per their LinkedIn records.
What Industries Use Impel the Most?
Four LinkedIn labels cover the dealers: Retail (37.8%), Motor Vehicle Manufacturing (33.28%), Automotive (9.7%) and Retail Motor Vehicles (5.43%), 86.21% together, based on our enriched company data. Most dealers in our named list carry the manufacturing label even though they sell cars. Individual and Family Services (4.27%) is a LinkedIn label spread across unrelated pages, and everything else is under 1%.
Franchised car dealers using Impel make up most of our list, such as Camelback Toyota in Phoenix, Capitol Chevrolet in Austin and Mercedes-Benz of Austin. RV and powersports dealers on Impel are the second group: Bretz RV & Marine, Mike Thompson's RV, Mountain Motorsports and Friend and Friend Powersports all loaded it. Equipment dealers using Impel include Riggs Cat, the Caterpillar dealer in Arkansas.
Impel Alternatives & Competitors
Nothing in this table competes with Impel for a dealer's budget. Slider Revolution (1,306,433 domains), Photo Gallery by 10Web (50,578) and Master Slider (42,351) are WordPress image plugins, and Zenfolio (3,195) hosts photographers' sites. Impel's competition is other dealer software, and some of it runs on the same pages: Gubagoo is on 11.42% of Impel domains, activEngage on 8.72%, Podium on 7.31% and Matador AI on 3.67%, all chat or messaging tools that overlap with Impel's Chat AI.

Expert Analysis: Impel Growth Trends & Key Signals for Sales Teams in 2026

Our catalog files Impel next to photo galleries, so I opened our October 2026 crawl expecting a photo tool. It's a dealer software company. A domain counts here when a page loads Impel's merchandising script from integrator.swipetospin.com, the host SpinCar used before it became Impel in March 2022. That gives 3,386 live domains, 2,530 matched to a company, and a customer base made almost entirely of vehicle dealers.
One product, two catalog rows
Impel's newer code loads from cdn.impel.io and chat-cdn.impel.ai, and our catalog tracks that as a second Impel row. The two overlap almost completely: 3,061 domains run both hosts, 348 run only the old integrator and 52 run only the new one. So the legacy host misses very little, and the second row is the same product, not a competitor. The AI chat is easier to count by dealer, because each dealer gets its own file: 1,048 different chat files across 1,393 domains. Major World's file covers 62 of its domains and Blue Compass RV's covers 23.
Sales signal: dedupe by dealer group before you size this list. A chat file or a page title shared across domains is one buyer.
Three months of data
We began tracking Impel on 4 August 2026, so the chart has three points: 1,971 in August, 3,118 in September and 3,386 in October. I wouldn't call that growth. The set of domains we crawl turns over every month, with closed sites dropping out and new ones found, and our detection widened in that window. Exits are clearer. 551 domains dropped Impel on at least one hostname since 4 August, and 253 of those still run it on another hostname, which leaves about 298 that left it entirely in two months.
"Impel's code still loads from SpinCar's old host, swipetospin.com, more than four years after the rename. That host is how we find 3,386 live domains, nearly all of them dealers." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: treat this as a base of about 3,400 dealer sites, not a fast-growing segment. The leavers are worth a closer look, because dealers drop vendors when they change website platform.
Who the dealers are
39.46% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 32.45% have 11 to 50 and 23.19% have 51 to 200. They're old businesses: 52.09% were founded before 1990. The top of our list is dealer groups, Herb Chambers, LaFontaine, Hoffman, Bert Ogden and Ewald, next to single stores like Camelback Toyota and specialists like Bretz RV & Marine and Riggs Cat, a Caterpillar equipment dealer. Impel's about page claims more than 8,000 clients worldwide across all its products, so our count of the merchandising script is a floor on its reach, not its client list.
Sales signal: the buyer at a dealer group is usually a digital or marketing director covering several rooftops. At a single store it's the general manager or the internet sales manager.
Countries and categories
2,049 of the 2,511 matched companies with a known country are American, 81.6%. Canada has 227 and Australia 157, more than the UK's 39, and Impel's website has regional editions for the UK and Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, Mexico, Spain and Central and South America, Brazil and the Middle East. On industry, Retail (37.8%), Motor Vehicle Manufacturing (33.28%), Automotive (9.7%) and Retail Motor Vehicles (5.43%) add up to 86.21%.
Sales signal: Canada and Australia are worth their own campaigns. Together they hold 384 of the 2,511 matched dealers with a known country, about 15%.
Platforms, programs and who pays
The open question was whether a website platform or an automaker deploys Impel for dealers. Of the 2,560 Impel domains where we logged third-party requests, 949 call Dealer.com's servers, 571 DealerOn's, 101 LeadVenture's and 54 Dealer Inspire's. On Dealer.com sites we rendered, Impel is switched on through Dealer.com's Web Integration API, an entry named after Impel that loads its integrator script. Impel's OEM programs page lists certified programs for Acura, Audi, Honda, Hyundai and GM's four brands, with co-op reimbursement for dealers who enroll.
"Dealer.com's servers show up on 949 Impel domains, but the dealer is still the buyer. The platform hosts the integration; the store signs the contract." - Elif Arslan, CMO & Co-founder at TechnologyChecker.io
Sales signal: partner with the platforms, sell to the dealers. A vendor that wants into this stack needs a Dealer.com or DealerOn integration and a place in the OEM programs, because that's how dealers get reimbursed for buying.
The stack around it
Across the 3,407 live domains in our stack analysis, Google Tag Manager runs on 99.3% and Google Analytics on 99%. Shift Digital Tag Manager is on 41.3% and Adobe Analytics on 33.52%, both signs of automaker programs. Dealer tools crowd the same pages: Kelley Blue Book on 14.32%, Edmunds on 13.71%, CarNow on 12.24%, Astute Solutions on 14.53% and Foureyes on 21.31%. Chat is contested. Gubagoo is on 11.42%, activEngage on 8.72%, Podium on 7.31% and Matador AI on 3.67%, and OpenAI's scripts appear on 5.11%.
Sales signal: a dealer running Impel and Gubagoo pays for two chat tools. That overlap is the opening for whichever vendor can show better lead response.
What it costs
Impel doesn't publish prices; the website sends dealers to a demo. The OEM programs add preferred packages and co-op reimbursement. Its about page lists a $104 million growth investment led by Silversmith Capital Partners in January 2023, and Impel bought Outsell for more than $100 million in June 2024.
Sales signal: co-op money shapes the buying calendar. Pitch when a dealer's program year resets, not at a random renewal date.
Key takeaways
1. 3,386 live domains on Impel's legacy SpinCar host, 8th of 29 in a category that doesn't fit it.
2. Dealer.com's servers appear on 949 of 2,560 domains with logged requests and DealerOn's on 571, but the dealer holds the account.
3. 95.1% of matched dealers have 200 or fewer staff, and 52.09% were founded before 1990.
4. Gubagoo runs on 11.42% of Impel domains, the clearest overlap in chat.
5. About 298 domains left Impel entirely between 4 August and October 2026.
How to use this list
Filter by country and dealer group, then dedupe by group, since some dealers run dozens of domains. For the full list of 3,386 Impel domains with company, size and stack data, explore TechnologyChecker.io.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who uses Impel?
Vehicle dealers. Our October 2026 crawl finds Impel on 3,386 live domains, and 86.21% of matched companies carry one of LinkedIn's four retail or automotive labels. Most are franchised car stores and dealer groups, with RV, powersports, boat and equipment dealers after them. Named users include Herb Chambers, LaFontaine Automotive Group, Hoffman Auto Group, Bert Ogden Auto Group and Bretz RV & Marine.
How many customers does Impel have?
Impel's about page says it has more than 8,000 clients worldwide, a figure that covers all its products. Our October 2026 crawl finds its integrator script live on 3,386 domains, 2,530 of them matched to a company. Read those as websites: dealer groups run many domains, and Major World alone has 79. Since 4 August 2026, 551 domains dropped Impel on at least one hostname.
What is Impel's market share?
0.22% of Photo Galleries, 8th of the 29 technologies we track there, on 3,386 domains. The number says little, because the category is built for WordPress sliders and photographer platforms: Slider Revolution leads it with 85.99%. Impel lands there because its 360-degree spins are image galleries of a vehicle. Its real market is dealer software, which our catalog spreads across other categories.
What are the best alternatives to Impel?
It depends on which Impel product you're replacing. For AI chat and lead response, dealers on our list also run Gubagoo (11.42% of Impel domains), activEngage (8.72%), Podium (7.31%) and Matador AI (3.67%). For merchandising, look at other vehicle photo and video vendors, not the gallery plugins in our category table, such as Slider Revolution, which no dealer would swap in for spins.
Which countries use Impel the most?
The United States, with 2,049 of the 2,511 matched companies with a known country, or 81.6%. Canada has 227, Australia 157 and the United Kingdom 39, and with New Zealand the English-speaking markets reach 98.65%. Impel's website has editions for the UK and Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, Mexico, Spain and Central and South America, Brazil and the Middle East.
What size companies use Impel?
Small and mid-sized dealers. 39.46% of matched companies with a known size have 1 to 10 employees, 32.45% have 11 to 50 and 23.19% have 51 to 200, so 95.1% have 200 or fewer. A franchised store employs dozens, which fills the middle bands. The 119 companies above 200 staff are dealer groups such as Herb Chambers, LaFontaine Automotive Group and Hoffman Auto Group.
How old are companies that use Impel?
Mostly long-established businesses. 52.09% of matched companies with a known founding year date from before 1990, and 15.92% from before 1960. The 2010s are the largest single decade at 18.24%, while only 5.72% were founded in the 2020s. The oldest names on our list include Dimmitt (1924) and Riggs Cat (1927), according to their LinkedIn records.
What is the ideal customer profile for Impel?
The ideal Impel customer is: Company Size: 1-10 employees (39.46%), then 11-50, Location: United States, then Canada and Australia, Founded: Before 1990 (52.09%), Industry: Car, RV and powersports dealers, Website: Dealer.com or DealerOn site in an OEM program — based on our analysis of 2,530 enriched companies at TechnologyChecker.io.
What does Impel do for auto dealerships?
Impel sells AI tools for dealers: Sales AI and Chat AI for leads and appointments, Voice AI for calls, Service AI and Marketing AI for repeat business, and Merchandising AI, the former SpinCar product that adds 360-degree spins to vehicle pages. We see both: the integrator script on 3,386 live domains, and Impel's chat script on 1,393, loaded from a separate file for each dealer.
Is Impel the same as SpinCar?
Yes. Impel announced on 8 March 2022 that SpinCar would operate under the new name, and its timeline says the business entered the car market as SpinCar in January 2014. The old name survives in the code: Impel's merchandising script still loads from integrator.swipetospin.com, the host our detection reads, on 3,386 live domains in our October 2026 crawl.
Who is Impel owned by?
Impel is an independent company led by its co-founder and CEO, Devin Daly. Its about page lists a $104 million growth investment in January 2023, led by Silversmith Capital Partners, and a $22 million round in 2018 led by Wavecrest Growth Partners. In June 2024 it bought Outsell, an automotive customer engagement platform, for more than $100 million in cash plus equity.
How much does Impel cost?
Impel doesn't publish prices; its website sends dealers to book a demo instead. Its OEM programs page says certified programs give dealers access to preferred packages and co-op reimbursement from the automaker, which lowers the net cost. In our crawl, 41.3% of Impel domains run Shift Digital's automaker program tag.
Does Impel work with Dealer.com and DealerOn?
Yes. Of the 2,560 Impel domains where we logged third-party requests, 949 call Dealer.com's servers and 571 DealerOn's. On the Dealer.com sites we rendered, Impel is added through Dealer.com's Web Integration API, which loads Impel's integrator script. The dealer still holds the Impel account; the platform only hosts the integration.
Is Impel certified by automakers?
Yes, for several brands. Impel's OEM programs page lists certified programs for Acura, Audi, Honda and Hyundai, and for Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC through GM's Dealer Digital Solutions. Certification lets dealers buy through the program and claim co-op reimbursement. In our crawl 41.3% of Impel domains also run Shift Digital's automaker program tag.
