Product Update: Signals, Alerts & Live Detection — What We Shipped in 2026
From real-time technology detection and lead lists to adoption/churn signals, webhook alerts, and smarter confidence scoring — here's everything we launched for revenue teams in 2026.

July 25, 2026
Since launching TechnologyChecker 2.0 in January, we've shipped the intent layer our customers asked for most: who just adopted a tool, who dropped one, and how to get notified the moment it happens.
This update covers the major product work from January through July 2026 — Live Detection, Lead Lists, the new Signals suite, Signal Alerts, company search, and a faster detection backbone under the hood.
Shipping timeline

What's New
Live Technology Detection
Look up any domain right now, not from last month's crawl.
- On-demand analysis with full browser rendering for modern SPAs
- Multiple modes for speed vs. depth (fast HTTP, light render, full browser)
- Pattern-matched against our detectable technology catalog with confidence and version when available
- Built into domain lookup in the dashboard so you can refresh a stack without leaving the profile
Live Detection is ideal when a prospect just launched a site, switched vendors, or you need a fresh read before a call.
Lead List Builder
Build targeted prospect lists from technology + company data — without exporting and stitching CSVs by hand.
- Combine technology filters (AND / OR / exclude) with firmographics: country, industry, employee range, and more
- Fast preview counts before you spend credits
- Background processing for large lists (up to plan limits)
- Export to CSV/JSON with technology names resolved
- Plan-based concurrent list limits so Free, Pro, Scale, and Enterprise stay fair
Use Lead Lists when the question is "give me 5,000 companies using X that look like my ICP."
Signals: Adoption, Churn, Switch & Whitespace
Signals answer a different question: who changed their stack recently?
| Signal | What it finds | |--------|----------------| | Adoption | Companies that newly installed a technology | | Churn | Companies that dropped a technology | | Competitive Switch | Companies that left A for B (or joined B from A) | | Whitespace (Stack Gaps) | Companies using an anchor tech but missing a whole category (e.g. Shopify without an email tool) |
Each query supports:
- Technology or category scope (e.g. "Klaviyo" or all Email Marketing tools)
- Time windows (7 / 30 / 90 days and beyond)
- Firmographic filters (country, industry, employees, company type)
- Confidence controls so you can favor high-trust events
- Company enrichment on result rows (name, industry, location, size)
Signals cost 1 credit per query. Free plans can explore them; plan limits apply where they matter (credits and alert caps).
Signal Alerts (Webhook + Email)
Any signal query can become a subscription.
- Adoption / Churn / Switch / Whitespace presets — same scopes as the explorer
- Account Watchlist — watch named domains for stack changes (optional daily/weekly elevated crawls)
- Delivery by email or webhook (Stripe-style HMAC signing for webhooks)
- Hourly or daily digest cadence so you control noise
- Minimum confidence filters to suppress sparse/flaky detections
- Delivery history, test fire, and CSV export of delivered events
Alerts themselves don't consume flat credits; elevated watchlist crawls are metered when you opt into faster re-scans.
Confidence Scoring You Can Trust
Intent data is only useful if it's accurate. We layered quality controls on top of raw crawl transitions:
- Per-event confidence (high / medium / low + score) based on detection method, scan count, and consistency
- First-seen gate — adoption no longer treats "first time we crawled this domain" as a real install
- Churn reliability labels by detection method (headers/DNS vs. flaky script patterns)
- Guards against one-scan flap so whole-stack noise doesn't flood your inbox
- Optional churn validation to re-check borderline drop-offs live
In the dashboard, confidence shows up on explorer rows and alert deliveries with plain-language tooltips.
Signals CSV Export
Need the full set of matches for outreach or a CRM load?
- Export adoption/churn results as CSV from the explorer
- Billed at 1 credit per exported row (capped sensibly; larger extracts point you at Lead Lists)
- Includes confidence columns and company fields when enrichment is on
Company Search & Enrichment
Technology data is more useful with a company attached.
- LinkedIn company profiles at scale (industry, size, location, founded year, and more)
- Company search that unifies crawl coverage + LinkedIn (source-tagged, domain-keyed)
- Firmographics on Signals results and domain workflows
- Batch company lookup for enrichment pipelines
Faster, Fresher Detection Infrastructure
Behind the product surface we moved current-state detection onto our v2 detection engine and ClickHouse cluster — continuous crawling with cleaner active/historical separation.
What that means for you:
- Domain lookups return active technologies from the live corpus
- Signals and alerts run on real status transitions, not static snapshots
- Historical timelines remain available where you need long-range trend views
- Detectable catalog stays aligned with real patterns (Wappalyzer-class signatures plus growing coverage)
Dashboard: Technology & Category Intelligence
Technology and category pages in the app are no longer a pile of live API calls.
- Technology profiles with adoption/churn windows, competitors, firmographic breakdowns, and top companies
- Category pages with momentum (net 30-day movers), switch destinations, and rankings
- Pre-materialized profile data for speed and reliability under load
Free Tools & API Hardening
- Public free-tools endpoints for common lookups (with dedicated rate limiting)
- Plan-based API rate limits (Free / Pro / Enterprise)
- Full technologies export for catalog consumers
- API Playground coverage for Signals and Alerts (read paths)
- Billing and credits sync improvements for organizations
How Teams Use What's New
Competitive displacement
Save a Switch alert: "who left Competitor X for us / for anyone." Reach out while the evaluation is still warm.
Churn prevention
Watch adoption of competing tools among your customer domains via Account Watchlist + daily crawl cadence on critical accounts.
Outbound ICP lists
Run a Whitespace query (Shopify sites with no ESP), filter to your country and size band, then export or save as an alert for continuous flow.
Account-based selling
Paste your target account list into a Watchlist, get notified on any stack change, and open the domain profile with Live Detection before the call.
Availability
Everything above is live in production for dashboard and API customers, subject to plan credits and alert entitlements.
- Dashboard: app.technologychecker.io
- API docs & playground: available inside the product
- Signals reference: adoption, churn, switch, whitespace + export
- Alerts reference: CRUD, deliveries, email/webhook, watchlist
What's Next
We're continuing to tighten signal accuracy, grow the detectable catalog from real crawl exhaust, and close the loop from alert → list → outreach so intent events become pipeline without spreadsheet glue.
