Google held 9.0 percent of the global infrastructure as a service market in 2024, up from 3.3 percent in 2017. Its share has risen in every single year of the period without exception — the only one of the top three vendors that can claim an unbroken climb. Amazon fell from 51.8 to 37.7 percent over the same years while Microsoft rose from 13.3 to 23.9 percent.
